After reading the mixed reviews, I was a bit worried about going, especially when we arrived on a Friday night to find the restaurant completely empty.
I had already purchased the groupon voucher for $59 for the seafood "platter" for two.
To my surprise, it was very delicious, the seafood was fresh, calamari was tender, barra was good and the broth was amazing (we chose spicy). My favourite was the crab!! So fresh and so sweet. I thought the serving was on the generous side and they also provide gloves so you can get a little messy with the seafood.
In terms of improvements, the restaurant has an oily smell, needs better ventilation. You do have to pay extra for rice (which we weren't told about when we were asked if we wanted rice). Toilets aren't the nicest and because it was a rainy night, the floor was slippery (that is a hazard as i nearly slipped!), in terms of food, maybe the platter needs more vegetablds and they should provide those nut cracker tools for the shellfish.
All in all it was a great experience, staff were friendly and attentive (hard not to be if you only have 1 table in the restaurant) and the food was enjoyable. I would come again, although I don't know if I'd pay full price $128 (the value of the voucher).
Visiting this restaurant for the second time as they have promotion with their famous fish.Ordered a spicy base and added a few sides. Enough serve for 2 people and walked away under $50.
I went here with my Mum a month ago for the Seafood Platter for two with spicy basting. It was such a delicious, fun experience! I've dreamed of it ever since and will be returning in the next two weeks to get it again (I've already purchased it, just waiting for the right time). It was absolutely huge! Everything tasted soooo good, and they gave us free bowls of rice alongside it which made everything taste even better. The spicy basting/sauce was too spicy for my Mum's liking but I thought it was absolutely heavenly, especially paired with the plain rice. It arrived swiftly, the atmosphere was lovely and calming, and it totally rocked my night. I'm so excited to get it again!
