A huge venue with fabulous views across the pier at Docklands, Woolshed is a great place to stop for a drink with friends. With a fabulous ambience and pleasant, modern decor; it's a relaxing place.
The bar is well stocked with a lovely wine selection, and the casual bar area is a nice spot to chill and watch sport on tv, or chat over some nibbles. There is also a more formal dining area, but I've only been here for drinks. It's a great place to stop by on a gorgeous, sunny day as the views are lovely.
The Woolshed has come a long way in The Dear Luncher’s opinion. It would probably have to be the premier pub in the Docklands area. The ideal venue for pre-game festivities and stomach-lining. A cozy, warm escape from the blustering mess that Docklands can be. The Woolshed dining area offers up decent views of Docklands Stadium. Expansive food and drink menus on offer. The steaks here are superb. The Dear Luncher could not fault the scotch fillet that was consumed. Prime cut. Service within catered to every need, promptly serving up drinks, which is important because The Dear Luncher goes through a lot of drinks.
4.5/5.
We were having a double date night recently and looked to the old entertainment book to suggest a venue. We definitely found the value at Woolshed and I finally satisfied the steak sandwich craving that has been plaguing me for weeks.
They also do delicious cocktail jugs the Pimms being a classic but I'd also recommend the Strawberry one. They used to have an amazing shredded beef BBQ brisket but sadly that seems to have gotten the chop from the revamped menu. Also worth noting at this point they haven't updated their online menu so don't get your heart set on something that's no longer available #bringbackthebrisket.
Update
I'm so glad the Woolshed rose from the ashes and rebuilt themselves better than ever. I've devoured the steak sandwich on more than one occasion and they do this sort of traditional pub food extremely well.
Lovely ambiance overlooking the water in the daytime and equally atmospheric at night with live music playing. It appears as though they have taking this opportunity to relaunch with some more premium dining options while still catering for more casual patrons so there's something to please everyone. One of the better spots in Docklands
Original review
This is a great space to watch the footy and has plenty of atmosphere on grand final day. We were only able to order from a somewhat limited menu given the masses and no table service which was reasonable I suppose. We had calamari, bread with three drips and some sweet potato fries. All yummy sharing style dishes.
