Had spicy beef with saffron rice, eggplant and kale sides. I haven't been to many SriLankan eateries but the food here was sensational not to mention very friendly service which make a big difference on a busy midweek workday.

I went to this restaurant while i was very hungry and expecting a good srilankan dish. The rice and curry was horrible. After my first fed i never felt like eating this food. My fellow srilankans i never recommend this restaurant.

I believe this is known as Curry Bowl. The food and staff are great and I regularly eat here.

We went here in 2019, and couldn't go there after that. The food we had was really nice!, The best srilankan biriyani I had so far in Melbourne. I really wish they extend their opening hours though. or open on weekends.

Food is very oily and greasy curries. No varieties and same food options everyday in the menu.
Stale food, often re-heated and served.
Expensive for the quantity served.
Taste is above average due to the spice ingredients and that's a relief.
If you're simply after exciting taste buds and prefer raw uncooked food and greasy sides this place is for you. to try. If you're after healthy value meal then stay away from here.

Staff here are so nice and the food is consistently excellent. Huge portions and each dish is fresh and home made. There’s is no better value lunch in the city than the $10 veg biryani.

Great food. Lakmi food has its unique taste! I have been a regular Lakmi customer since 2010. Love the food. And the chilli paste/chilli oil is so good. I have tried almost all the food from the menu and I can surely give 5 stars for all. Highly recommend.
Ample street parking available at Lt Collins Street if you drive. And clean place if you prefer to dine in.

Good place for a $12 lunch.
Great chilli side, good eggplant curry, and the chicken curries are decent.
The lamb curries can be a little tough, it depends.
Menu is mostly the same day to day.

Great place to grab a very yummy curry, lovely friendly quick service, will go back much much better than the Indian in the food court on the other side of Little Collins

I had a kottu roti from this place and they have burnt the spices while cooking it. Bad experience ! But you can give try, if you want to have a kottu roti in CBD <br/>
The Swine
The Swine could be wong but recalls Lakami Ceylon used to be called the Curry Bowl - possibly in another life??? The Swine does love Sri Lankan cuisine, so thought why not give this place a shot for a quick lunch. Lami Ceylon is a budget type eatery with most main meals costing no more than 10 bucks. As you would expect its not a flash place. The Swine ordererd the Burriyani Combo which was $9.50. This is for one meat serve and two serves of veggie options - with rice and a smallish pappadum. The Swine did think the lamb wasn't the best - grisssley! The Swine hates that!! Oink!!! Flavours were not bad but the grissle was a major put off. All up the Swine thinks this place is a good cheap eat as long as you expect a cheap style feed. 3 piggy snouts out of 5.

Awesome food. Loved the beef curry and short eats. Can have a great meal for less than 10$. Used to be as curry bowl and now managed by a new ownership.
