Review Pufflets - Melbourne

Mitch Todd
Really great! I saw this on Facebook and was a bit nervous because it looked so good but Pufflet met my expectations! It was quite a large waffle with ice-cream, lots of topping and really fun. Wow! So great and would definitely recommend them cool hang dessert~ Great photo opportunities and also really good drinks, I had the ice peach tea and it had a little bit of fizz. Yum~ Thanks for a great snack :)

3.5 ⭐️ #puffle! we got a Create your own #hkstyleeggwaffle: milo & vanilla swirl #softserve, plain Puffle, chocolate panda and #condensedmilk 🍦❤️ It took quite some time because the Puffle was freshly made, and when it came out it look so crazy awesome. The milo vanilla swirl was delicious, I couldn’t get enough of that. However I find the Puffle was still not as good as the ones in Hong Kong. The smell, taste and texture is just lacking. Still it was quite good and I might visit again if I am nearby. I wish they are open a bit earlier during lunch time so I can visit during lunch. They just open at an hour that is so inconvenient unless you are going around there for dinner

This small dessert joint is located off the busy part of Elizabeth Street. They serve puffles which essentially are like waffles but more eggy and supposedly puffier. We ordered the durian puffles and surprised by how good it is. The durian taste is strong but not overpowering and the combined toppings make it fun to eat. Food - 8 Service - 8 Vibe - 5 Price - $$$

Addictive pufflets with many choices of toppings. We are staying at the nearby hotel and we went nearly daily to buy 1. Very friendly staff & boss! Cheese pufflets was one of our favorite! Eat it while it is hot!

Came here after visiting the Night Market at Queen Vic Market. Ordered one with durian ice cream and it was really nice. It definitely would have been too filling if we hadn't shared. Plus we had lots of food at the market too. Worth a try.

Food: Super yummy Ambience: The place was small, but there were swings! Service: Had to wait 10mins but was worth it. Saw this on instagram and decided to check out because of my love of waffles. And they delivered! We tried making our own pufflet with a matcha puffle, coconut gelato, hello panda and sweetened condensed milk; and also ordered a taiyaki filled with Nutella and crunchy nut cereal topped with Thai milk tea and charcoal vanilla soft serve. They both tasted amazing although the based on the two we tried the gelato tasted better. Will definitely be back!

Don't know why people complained a lot about this place. I guess people are hard to please these days. They don't realise how much effort required to set up a shop or restaurant. For me the food is great and the staff is always friendly every time I visit. I even got to try their new creation last time. I like both the savoury and sweet pufflets.

Delicious pufflets. Especially loved the kaya one. Durian was good too but the kaya was way better. Would have loved to be able to try more as everything on their menu looks good, especially the soft serve.

Although the interior is small, it is nice place to hang out with friends and family.
I love the combination of waffles and ice cream. You can make you own as well. You may need to wait for the waffles to be made.
I enjoyed the waffles more than the ice creams.
They sell soft serves, drinks and churros.
Overall the desserts are slightly pricey, they make great pictures.

This was a random find. But honestly was quite yummy and unique. We made our own customised pufflet. I would definitely be coming back here. The pufflet is similar to the taste of freshly made warm soft pancakes with the filling of your choice and toppings. Even if you don't have a sweet tooth, still recommend to try it atleast once.
Eat Good Melbourne
I came here after my recent visit to Hong Kong and these waffles exceeded my expectations. I dare say they were better than the ones I had in Hong Kong. Super crispy on the outside and still moist and fluffy on the inside and generously filled with toppings. They've got a range of flavours to choose from and they all sound like matches made in heaven. The perfect quick dessert stop to share or devour yourself.

Ordered from uber eats, came in good. Pretty much can't screw ice cream. The waffles were greatamd crispy. Love the matcha flavour. I recommend. 👍🏾

Been coming here a couple of times. Always leave feeling great. Can not go wrong with either the set menu or the build-your-own waffle. The waffle is also massive, as can be seen from the pic. Overall, just a great dessert experience

$$ - ordered Taiyaki and Strawberries & Cream

We came right when they opened (which, they opened 15 minutes late). It was really quiet and didn’t feel ‘exciting’ until music was turned on and a few more people arrived. The Strawberries & Cream had way too much whipped cream, so all the strawberries fell off and onto the floor. It gets a bit messy to eat towards the end. However, they were both really nice. The soft serve in the Taiyaki was super creamy! The cookies & cream gelato was just as amazing! And the egg waffle was perfect. Not too bad for roughly $10 each!

The store was super cute too! Just wished it was a bit more lively and the employees were more fun & friendly. I highly recommend!

I tried the classic waffle combination with banana and Nutella. It was just perfect, the waffle was very crisp and soft topped with some whipped cream and ice cream of your choice!
Will be coming back for more !! 🙈

We tried the build your own pufflet and it did not disappoint.Had the egg waffle with matcha ice cream and it went well together. The egg waffle was crispy on the outside and chewy on the side. Might just be slightly on the pricier side

I love myself a good egg waffle. We came here for dessert one Saturday night and it was quite empty. Does anyone find it weird that during the day their a different restaurant - selling churros? Anyways, pufflet specialises in egg waffles. You can customise and make your own with a variety of toppings or you can order pre made ones which have better ingredients.

The place is quite small and well lit. Can I just point out they have a damn swing as a seat!!! Thought that was a cute touch to the place!

We chose the saltan and pandan which had pandan infused puddle, coconut gelato, pandan and coconut agar, crushed peanuts and kaya drizzle. They also have two different sizes to choose from - the regular and the mini. It took awhile for us to receive our food but I think they take on Uber eats or some sort of delivering company so the worker had to prepare for them first.

The portion of the waffle was actually really large and it was nicely made. The pufflets were nice and crunch on the outside and slightly softer in the inside. I actually really enjoyed it. I loved the jelly as well and pretty much everything went really well together. The icecream didn’t really taste like coconut icecream. It was very subtle in coconut flavour. Tbh it tasted a lot more like vanilla.

I’m pretty sure they’ve improved a lot since opening. The waffle creations and flavours look a lot different to back then. Good on them!

Overall, I would love to come back to try out their other flavours!
Went there to satisfy my waffle and ice cream cravings, can't complain!

Waffles were good, I think the lady messed up the first batch but herself made another one for me.

the pufflet is crunchy outside and soft inside. the earl grey is too sweet, liking the sauce inside the tubes. the milo soft serve also too sweet, perfect with cheesecake bites. its addicting, gonna try other combination for sure!

Food : ⭐️⭐️⭐️ I like waffle + ice cream. Durian tastes good. That makes a good dessert.
Price : ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Average
Service : ⭐️⭐️ Alright
Ambience : ⭐️⭐️ Little shop. Nothing special
Some Bunee Loves Food
The egg waffles are on point! Crispy on the outside and fluffy soft inside. I got the Earl Grey flavored waffle and it was full of the tea flavor. Paired with salted caramel ice cream and the lot, it was delicious!

Always wanted to drop in whenever I passed by. The place smelled of baked waffle dough inside (obviously 😂) but it smelled sooo good! I had the durian one, and the waffle was nice and fluffy. And I would say the portion is quite filling, though I had the smaller size, so I wouldn’t really complain about the price. Only downside would be that the durian gelato tasted slightly artificial, but I’d still come back anyway for the waffles.

Perfect treat during tea break.
The waiting time can be long (despite being a quiet time of the day), but that tells you each order is freshly made.

Puffle wasn’t as crispy as what I have thought it would be, but it’s still pretty good!

I’ve always loved the idea egg waffle puffs, and this was a place i’ve always wanted to try! The store itself is pretty small, but the layout is cute with the little swing seats! Pufflets only made me love the egg waffle puffs thingy even more. I ordered the milo one and my boyfriend made his own. I would recommended ordering something off the menu as you get a few more toppings as opposed to building your own. Worth trying all the different flavours here!

Was my second visit to pufflet.
Came here a couple minutes away from opening hour, but the freindly staff let us in anyway.
Ordered the pandan flavour, which has rich coconut-y flavour in it and heck lot of grinded nuts.
It is very sweet and for a sweet tooth like me, it's just okay. But if you aren't a big fan of sugar, it might be too sweet for you.

This is my favorite place in Melbourne where I can find a great durian gelato ice cream, I’ve been here many time. The waffle was crispy on outside and soft inside, and the best thing is the smell soooo nice. I can say durian gelato here is the best one that I’ve eaten in Melbourne. Highly recommended!
CheeseAndCrackers
Thought it sounded a great idea. Bought one and it was terrible!! The pufflet waffle was dry and stale chewy, the crumb was salty and not pleasant but the worst thing was the ice cream. It was so bitter and terrible I was worried it had anti freeze in it, I spat it out right away. Really disappointed. Wrote to them to let them know and never heard back. Don't like leaving one star reviews but really very poor food and service.
Jessica Felise
They have a very cute food presentation, which makes it super insta worthy. They also give out generous portion, which i feel that you can share it for 2 people. However, it’s a very sweet dessert, especially as i don’t have a sweet tooth

Lovely, lovely quaint little cafe with delicious egg waffles ice creams. A must try. Opens late and crepes are made to order. My only concern with the place is that there is no ventilation so it gets quite stuffy and humid in there.

After a walk around the city about 3 days ago I decided I was craving ice cream and I walked past pufflets it looked very positive which was good and so I ordered the pistachio ice cream with pocky sticks and strawberry’s when it came it out it looked fabulous I couldn’t wait to try it and the taste was wonderful nice and creamy like ice cream should be and puffed kind of biscuit cone so positive interior, fabulous presentation and amazing taste gives me a big thumbs up!
Abbywu
The gelato was very sweet and yum. Service was ok was around 10-15 mins wait for one taiyaki. Got a choice between 3 flavours of ice-cream: vanilla, Thai milk tea and mixed.
The Superscript Diner
Things I love about this place: Gelato is flavoursome and the injection flavours are strong and compliments well together.

Things to know beforehand: Need to eat the gelato quickly as the folds in the puffle leaves a large hole at the bottom and melts all the way through; waiting time is between 5-15 minutes to assemble; “crunchy nut sprinkles” are not nuts but actually corn flakes toppings; interior design leave much to be desired.

Made with perfectionism and patience. Only downside is everything is of average quality. The mixture is bland, the pufflets are a bit hard and the gelato and soft serve was average and a bit icy... had to wait 15 mins for it to be made too!
Foodies.and.Coe
This little place in the CBD is somewhat hidden at the top end of elizabeth but its worth a look. They offer a decent selection of delcious toppings or you can build your own. I went for the salted caramel, strawberries and nutella which was excellent. The waffle is also a nice mixture of crispy and soft.
J
The wait is the main issue here (10-15min, not a lot of efficiency as only 2/4 waffle irons were being used despite multiple orders)

BUT- the food themselves are a lot of fun and the durian gelato is on point! Matcha waffle lacked a bit of flavour however the gelato and toppings more than made up for it. Overall was a great experience 😊
Jessica Nguyen
Egg waffles! Oh my apologies, puffles...
We had the original and matcha puffles. Waited 10 mins for these to come. Came slightly warm, very crispy and when turned over not fully they were not formed "puffs". You could probably hang it up without hooks is what it looks like if it were a decoration.

Average taste and texture. Matcha didnt have a strong flavour and underwhelming. The original one was marginally better. Luckily the two puffles were shared among the three of us.
Daniel
We got the matcha green tea pufflet and the original pufflet. It was very disappointing. The pufflets were virtually flavourless. The pufflets were not perfectly shaped and some bits did not have any filling. Given that we had to wait 10 minutes for it, we expected a better experience.

Friendly service! Pandan puffle was fragrant and yummo, mmmmmm :) Will definitely be back for more!

A cute and cosy dessert eatery, so glad I stumbled across this lil gem today

A friend took me here for dessert one night after dinner, I always thought that it was somewhere in the middle of the city but the place was actually closer to Victoria market. We each ordered a half Thai milk tea and half charcoal vanilla soft serve which I thought was freaking deliciousss, the flavours really popped and was super refreshing. I think about it on the daily. Haha not really but it was pretty memorable. We also had the original pufflet which was just okay, nothing special about this. Was a little disappointing because some parts of the pufflet had no filling, particularly the edges. Cute little place though, they even had swings as seats. Would definitely come back just for the soft serve.

Dont be fooled by their strong social media workings.Looking at their instagram, photos are shot beautifully, full of colours, smart captions and promises to taste good right? Boy was i wrong.

When i stepped foot in, there was this really funky smell. It was so nauseating that i was coughing from it.

I ordered the bearyaki $7.5 and was told it will be a 25 mins wait. I thought, what? So long. But i was already here, mind as well right? The total time took 40 mins and when i saw the finished product, it was dismal. The soft serve (thai milk tea and vanilla) is a pass but the bear itself. It was hard and wasnt pleasant to eat.

I wasted my time and money here, what a pity. Would i come back if im in Melbourne? Nah.
Jay
✅ Staff are really friendly and happy to help!
✅ The puffs taste great and remind me of HK!
⚠️ Taiyaki isn’t as great as those you find in Japan. I found the addition of corn flakes really strange.
❌ The store is super small and gets very crowded and warm! It’s almost impossible to sit here and enjoy with a group if it’s busy!
Willtravelforfood17
Went there and tried their 50 Shades of Durian which was durian gelato in an egg waffle with durian biscuit and cornflakes and a syringe full of durian pulp. The gelato was soft and was not creamy - it was a little subtle on the durian flavour. The egg waffle was really dry and hard. The corn flakes were out of place. I wouldn’t give this another try.
The_littlehungrylife
This is such a cute and hip place for fun desserts. I love the way the shop is setup and everything we ordered we loved.

I did find the ordering system a bit confusing. However the staff really took the time to explain everything.

I would come back as I did really enjoy my experience here! Highly recommend!

More details on my experience will be posted on my blog www.thelittlehungrylife.com

Love the idea of it, takes a while to prepare the waffley cones of course but it's super tasty, looks great and is a sure hit if you have a sweet tooth. I recommend the Milo one for those who like chocolatey foods - I've yet to try other flavours. Keep in mind the ice cream can melt and get a bit messy - use a spoon.
DamoForce Food
The shop is perfectly located in Therry Street close to Elisabeth Street, Victoria Market and RMIT University. Love how they design their shop, it’s fun, young and funky We were then offered a new dessert which consisted of ice cream blended w your favourite cereals which delicious.

Tried the original and cheese puffle. I like the original ones but hubby like the cheese. Original - right amount of sweetness and milkiness. Cheese - good amount of cheese but I find it overpowering the taste of the batter and I am not use to salty puffle.

The place is really small and suffocating probably due to lack of ventilation. It is quite warm too and I was there on cooler days. Due to the size it can be tricky with pram. There are no ramp access but I think you can go in from the main entrance of the building.

I will return for others in the menu. Most probably will have to do take away.
Lily
Small dessert shop on outskirts of the CBD specialising in waffles. You can choose from the menu or customise your own. The matcha red bean one I ordered was ok. Service was alright but the order took a long time to make.
@foodtom
Thankfully I can always rely on Pufflets to have the goods, This place is definitely a standout and one of the top places to go and have the bubble waffles! Ive been back on multiple occasions and I most certainly will be returning in the future. The Cheesy Puffle is the best thing ever, sadly I didn't photo it because it was just too good to resist. I'll be back soon!

The shop is perfectly located in Therry Street close to Elisabeth Street, Victoria Market and RMIT University. Surrounded by the high rise apartments filled primarily with students and young professionals, traffic always comes and gets busy at night. Love how they design their shop, it’s fun, young and funky.

Situated right next to the Queen Victoria Market on Therry Street, Pufflets offer a wide range of Asian-inspired desserts👌 These range from Hong Kong egg waffles, matcha-inspired desserts, durian flavoured sweets and much more🖒 As shown below are their loaded egg waffles and their newly introduced cereal infused ice cream!

My partner and I were fortunate enough to be invited to try this new (for us) dessert cafe.

This cafe opposite Queen Victoria Market was easy to find once you say all the ping pong balls in the window lol.

The service was friendly and helpful and we tried a couple of different puffles. I tried a cheese one which was delicious and we shared a mini Sultan of Pandan which was bursting w coconut gelato, a cereal topping and lots of other goodies. The pandan puffle was tasty too.

This place was fun, and I had fun on a swing in the store hahaha

We were then offered a new dessert which consisted of ice cream blended w your favourite cereals which delicious. We had coconut, cinnamon, and and some cereals (enough to fill a cup) so I felt like I was having my second breakfast lol.

Overall this was a fun experience, and very busy which was not surprising! Oh and they had lots of discounts for students!

Delicious kaya pandan flavor egg waffle with coconut icecream!! A must try! The regular size can be for 2 people, unless you are hungry for it! The milo flavor is ok, can be quite sweet to some.
Inem
This dessert place is just around the corner from my place so i decided to try the ice cream. Durian ice cream tastes good, too bad the texture is very watery. Matcha ice cream is pretty average, i like stronger matcha flavour in my ice cream normally. The overall menu looks delicious. I will try one of the pufflets combo next time.
Asianfoodie
Ordered a simple egg waffle + matcha soft serve! The egg waffle itself had a nice texture but was a little flavourless apart from the sweetness. An enjoyable dessert to share with friends!
A Chronicle Of Gastronomy
Since last year, you might have noticed a shopfront full of smiley balls right near Queen Vic Market. Inside, you’ll find Pufflets, a cosy little shop serving bubbly Hong Kong style egg waffles with interesting flavour combinations, many with a slight Malaysian slant – durian anyone?

January had zipped by in the blink of an eye; one moment I was people watching in Tokyo and the next moment, I am back at work, providing solutions to people's queries. An invitation to sample Pufflet's menu gave the breather I needed to stop and reflect on my aims and goals. All whilst indulging in egg waffles and ice cream.
Love At First Bite
We got the 50 shades of Durian and made our own cereal infused ice cream. The cereal infused ice-cream was awesome - it was like a really thick version of cookies and cream!
Vivian
I was delighted to finally be able to try pufflets after seeing it all over social media . I was lucky enough to try out the new cereal infused ice creams and boy did it take me down memory lane ! I loved the idea of the creamy ice cream mixed with the crunch of your favourite cereals! The ice cream was creamy and smooth and the staff were also extremely friendly! Can’t wait to come back

Pufflets are soft serving up some competition in the Melbourne ice cream world. Located near Queen Victoria Markets, blink and you might walk past it, but if you search for treasure you will find the gold.

What makes Pufflet’s stand out?

Fish and bear shaped waffle cones! I’ve been longing for a Taiyaki fish cone place in Melbourne’s CBD and Pufflet’s deliver. The ‘Kream Bar’ - Cereal Ice cream bar. Choose your soft serve base (vanilla or cookies and cream), choose the cereal you want blended in (there’s many to choose from!), choose more cereal to have on top (for extra crunch).

For me, the Kream Bar was the stand out, I recommend having Crunchy Nut Cornflakes or Frosted Flakes as part of the mix, as you get that salty sweet taste throughout. I also enjoyed the bear shaped waffle with the soft serve, it brought a smile to my face.

There’s a lot of variety in combinations, flavours, sweet or savoury to be had in Pufflets, and it can be overwhelming, but it’s joyous.

The interior is cute and inviting, and the staff are friendly and helpful. You do have to wait for your creation (not too long but longer than having someone scoop ice cream and putting it on a cone) but Rome wasn’t built in a day.

I’ll definitely be back. 9/10

Disclaimer: Invited by the owner.

Tucked away near the Queen Vic Market, this place does some epic desserts! The signature style puffle is super tasty and you can choose a pre-designed one or get creative and make your own. The same goes for the loaded cereal ice cream - you can add as much or as little as you desire! So tasty and very reasonably priced. As everything is made to order, be prepared to wait 5-10 mins but it is totally worth it!
Split The Bill
Cute ice cream store close to the Vic Markets selling made to order eggs waffles/pufflets.

We ordered 2 bearyaki filled with nutella. Bearyaki is a waffle shaped in as a bears head, they also make fish shaped waffles. Filling options are nutella, the traditional red bean and peanut butter. One of the bears we chose was topped with salted caramel gelato and decorated with caramel popcorn. The other was filled with cookies and cream gelato and oreros to decorate $7.50.

We also had the eye opening Milo beast and I can tell you how, it was a beast. The pufflet was filled with dark chocolate chips, a large serving of cookies and cream gelato drizzled with chocolate sauce and Milo sprinkled on top. Oh i forgot to mention the juge toasted marshmallow! What a delicious treat and probably one to share between two.

We couldnt leave without ordering the cereal soft serve, I had the pleasure of picking my own cereals which was mixed into cookies and cream gelato. Great concept, to me it tasted like cereal with milk. Loved our visit and will definitely visit again soon.

Love the sweet and savoury selection at Pufflets! Their new cereal-infused ice creams are so delicious and a fun way to get creative! Looking forward to returning to Pufflets soon :)
FoodforThought
Pufflets serve the most decent tasting waffle so far in my journey with HK egg waffle in Melbourne. But I’m not so sure about their serving method because you would likely not taste 1/3 of your soft serve because it would end up melted in the cup. The ice cream flavours (charcoal vanilla and Thai milk tea) were ok and not creamy to my liking (probably explained why it melted quite quickly). Can do better!
Oj_always_eating
Visited Pufflets for the first time yesterday, and was absolutely blown away but the deliciousness of the 2 beautiful treats I ordered!!! The first was the Milo Beast, a big choc waffle full of amazing assorted chocolate delights, milo and soft serve ice cream and the absolute highlight - the big toasted marshmallow sticking out of the ice cream!!! YUMMM!!! We also had the cereal infused ice cream. This is more likely what I would order on a regular basis, as I ordered the cup, which is littler than the waffle and made for a delicious afternoon tea treat!! I had vanilla ice cream infused with Oreo, choc chip cookie, cinnamon crunch cereal and Special K. I can honestly say, I never imagined having ice cream mixed with cereal but the combination is AMAZING!!! The cereal adds just the right about of crunch - particularly the extra bits they add on the top. Very fairly priced as well. I will DEFINITELY be back to try more awesome combinations - thanks for having me Pufflets!! 👌🏻😊
Melbourne Food Journey
Just a short walk from the Queen Victoria Market, you will find the unique dessert shop Pufflets. Alongside their awesome egg waffle creations, you can now try cereal infused ice cream! Fruit Loops, Captain Crunch, Frosties, Cookie Crisps, Milo, Fruity Pebbles ... you’ll be channeling your inner kid again! Seriously sweet and flavoursome, the perfect treat to cool you down on a hot day ❤️

Perhaps my taste buds don’t align with the dessert here. For that high price, you certainly still get a very decent portion, but I found the puffle to be too burnt and dry. Overall, below average in taste and texture for me, but can’t deny the generous servings.
Good Food Good Mood
I was lucky enough to be invited to Pufflets with the Melbourne Foodie Hub. What a time to be alive! While you certainly won’t be strolling around casually nibbling your waffle because it is a GINORMOUS delight topped with all manner of delicious toppings (think torched marshmallow, wafers, biscuits and milo) it is absolutely a scrumptious eat. You definitely need to be seated to tackle it and you probably need to bring a plus one! I opted for cookie ice cream which was an excellent choice. The waffle was light and crispy and broke off in such a way that made it very shareable.
This enabled us to try another option their custom cereal ice cream which was super fun. I love customising everything! I have monogrammed phone cases, candles, blankets; the works, so the opportunity to do something unique like blend an array of cereal toppings into ice cream thoroughly appealed to me. I went for Reese’s pieces (obviously), coconut, crunchy nut flakes and chocolate teddies. I really enjoyed the different flavours and textures in this creation.
The entire concept is something a bit different that you don’t really see in Melbourne and I for one loved the desserts. I also appreciate that they have a range of flavours to suit everyone as matcha and other traditional flavours like durian can be polarising. Lovely friendly staff and a pleasant atmosphere. A great pit stop post dinner for a sweet ending.

Called into Pufflets on a balmy Melbourne night as a plus one guest of Good Food Good Mood. Perfect night for dessert to and as such were weren’t the only ones in here waiting eagerly for waffle desserts to be prepared. There is a range of the most amazingly
presented waffle puffles melded into a cone like structure and heaped full of ingredients such as cookies, ice cream, marshmallow. There are even savoury options here and plenty of add on and options to boot. I loved the endless customisation options which will keep folk coming back again and again for new combinations. That said they are incredibly messy to eat so be prepared to produce a mess like a 2 year old!!!

We also ordered a thick shake from their new cereal counter where you pick your own items for a decadent ice cream or thickshake blend. Absolutly rich and delicious. Nutella most certainly featured in the items we chose as we were both fans.

Very nice dessert cafe. Very simple and cute design of shop. I order the strawberry n cream n it is really tasty. I really like it and also the price is cheap, it is only $9 for one and it is so big. It is very worth it. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. I will bring my friend back to try more of the others flavour! Thank u so much for a good experience
Pufflets.
It was initially a journey just to find this cute place, however once found i became excited due to what i could see inside.
Wooden swings, an LED smiley face and a clean cafe.
Walking in, the two owners smiled at me and welcomed me into their Ice cream cafe.
With music playing, i browsed the menu to see what they had to offer; massive egg waffles filled with ice cream and other delicacies, CEREAL THICK SHAKES!, soft serve and a range of home made ice tea’s.
I couldn’t contain my excitement, almost ordering the whole menu, i went with the Milo beast and the strawberries and cream ice creams. I also got to try their NEW PRODUCT, a cereal thick shake! and got an Iced tea as well.
Milo beast: Pufflet cooked well (the sides were crunchy- yum!) cookies and cream ice cream- though not made in store, it was definitely delicious, toasted marshmallow, cookie crumbs and two biscuits with some chocolate sauce.
Strawberries and cream: original vanilla Pufflet, chocolate gelato, cream and strawberries.
The actual Ice cream itself from both Pufflets was quite basic, sweet-but not too sweet, good texture, good after taste. Though the addition of the other bits and pieces made it and absolute flavour bomb.
The cereal thick shake is new to their menu, i was able to add fruit loops, cinnamon crunch and honey flakes to a vanilla base, along with some cream on top (YUM) - absolutely delicious, however since the room wasn’t cold, the thick shake became warm which unfortunately destroyed the taste.
The tea was also made in house which was very pretty and quite tasty, this also balanced out the sweetness from the desserts.
Will most definitely be back again, it’s definitely a place everyone NEEDS TO TRY! seriously! i wish more people knew about this cute place!
So thank you Pufflets!
Ice cream of Melbourne🍦🍦Xx

During the Lantern Festival at Crown we came across Pufflets with a durian stall! Located in the CBD, Pufflets is a trendy little dessert bar that excels in dishing up astounding Egg Waffles. While these waffles are by no means made in a traditional Hong Kong style, we found them tasty, excitable and very satisfying nonetheless.

The option to customise and design your own Waffles and Milkshakes, or tweaking the existing offerings to your heart’s content makes this an attractive little gem for anyone looking to satiate their sweet tooth!

To be honest, nothing really stood out or over the top.
In my opinion, this is just one of those places where food is good for taking pics but not so much for the taste.
Sorry for my bluntness...

Love the vibes I'm getting from this place! It's got a nice clean feel and you've gotta love that neon sign with the face! (Not sure of the name of their mascot)

On to the important bit, the food of course, I got myself a $9 build your own waffle with the works like whipped cream and soft serve then topped it off with a Nutella sauce and kit kat!

Will be back to try the others flavours for sure.
Honest Reviews
We came here quite a while back.. Something uncomfortable about this place.. felt very claustrophobic when I was in there. I ordered the milo beast and tbh.. unfortunately there's not too many good things I can say.. I think it was a bit too pricey and definitely too sweet, unbalanced flavour and was rather unexciting.. all I tasted was sugar and nothing else. I'm not sure if I'd be willing to come back to try this place again as it is a bit too far from where I lived.

Absolutely amazing!! Came here yesterday after seeing them on social media and boy were my expectations met. Milkshakes were as thick as they come and the cereal ice cream was just devine. They should have a ranking of 5/5, couldn't fault.

My friend brought me to this little cafe that serves astonishing desserts. I ordered the sultan of pandan puffle and it was beyond scrumptious! My friend ordered the milo beast and he commented that it was superb. It was definitely worth every penny and calories. We are very keen to be back to taste their other flavours and varieties of desserts. Definitely worth a visit if you haven’t been here

I am so in love with this small dessert cafe. The egg waffle here taste so good and I really enjoy it. I order the nuts about banana puffle and it is so big and cheap. It only cost me $9 and when I finish the puffle I am so full and happy. I will come here very often to try the other flavours. U have to try~

Loved it! Milkshakes were ultra thick. Waffles were soft and tasty and the staff were really friendly and helpful. A cute little venue with a lot to offer. Pufflets should be on everyone's to do list!

When it comes to Egg Waffles, I think of Hong Kong and their simpler Waffles.

Pufflets takes this idea and transcends it to higher levels with a fresh and funky interior mixed with friendly service. Got to love their big mix of waffle types and ice cream flavours.

So even though it isn't the authentic HK egg waffles, they blend the old and the new and come up with something I personally love!

Goes to show, just cause it isn't the original one it can still taste awesome in its own way!

While service does take it a while, it is freshly prepared on the spot for you so that's quite expected.

Nuts about Banana just hit the spot for me as a Nutella fan and I can't wait to come back and try more of their expansive menu.

Quick tip! They've also got these delicious cereal infused ice cream that just came out!

Will be back to try them for sure!
The Amazing Eater
Sadly, this is the most substandard and poor-quality dessert we ever had so far in Melbourne.. Dessert is very very lacking the flavour and texture to it as compared to the ones in hk and look nothing like the photo. Would have given a -1 rating but couldn’t.. I don’t think we’ll ever come here again.

Sorry... not my kind of dessert. The ice cream tasted too artificial and meh.. Nothing special. Been here 2 times, both unpleasant experiences (second time to retry). My opinion is better off spending your money at other dessert place.
@thefoodiealgorithm
We ordered the MILO BEAST & SULTAN OF PANDAN.

Both pufflets were nicely cooked, I preferred the Milo Beast as I love chocolate. The cookies and cream gelato was on point, the milo drizzle was a bit crunchy which added a nice texture. The Sultan of Pandan was light and fresh, I loved the combination of pandan infused pufflet and coconut gelato. I think if this place was more central is would be busier, was surprised we were the only ones there on a hot Sunday afternoon. Anyhow I would definitely visit if in the CBD, the create your own pufflet is something I would to try in the future.

Pufflets are not traditional egg waffles but their menu is definitely full of eye catching and tasty creations. You even get to design your own puffle so it caters to even the fussiest eaters within my peers! It's always a fun and delicious treat. Instagram-worthy for those who eat with their eyes, and satisfying for those who have a sweet tooth like me!

Horrible experience... Have read the many negative reviews on here before we came and was like "how bad can a dessert be?". Well, I am no food critic but ate there once is enough.

Very poorly made ice cream like many others have said. My friends and I wanted to grip our hairs out because it was that bad! We left as soon as possible and could not even finish half of it.. Argh what a waste of money and time.

Never come back again and never recommended.

Love this cute waffle place! I tried the original waffle with the mixed soft serve ice cream on the side since the flavour is tempting. The original waffle is so crispy! Just like the hongkong egg waffle that I’ve been craving for a while and I love the earl grey softserve than the chocolate one. Since the earl grey is not too sweet for me. If you’re not a sweet person, i recommended not to order the chocolate one. Definitely a return customer! Will try other waffle next time!

Me and my friend were passing by the store and popped in not knowing that we would fall in love with the amazing ambiance and the incredibly delicious desserts.

Will not come back. I know this is not HongKong but come on guys, there are great egg waffle places around but definitely not this one. I ve never had any egg waffle this dry and there was not enough batter which made the waffle just a plain shell. I had brownies as topping and it literally tasted like it has been in the fridge for weeks, it was soaked with the smell of the fridge. No comment on the ice cream. On top of it, it cost $10.5! Way too expensive. Guys avoid this place!

We went back to try their new cereal ice cream! You can choose up to 5 cereals/nuts/biscuits which are crushed and mixed with ice cream or thickshake. I’d recommend 2-3 flavours so the flavours stand out more. Also grab some egg waffles on the side to dip into your ice cream! Love the crispy yet soft egg waffles.

PUFFLETS COLLAB WITH DURIA! I’ve been meaning to visit this place and was surprised to see it at the mooncake festival. Egg waffles filled with durian ice cream was delicious! The egg waffles were fluffy and complimented the ice cream well.i Definitely need to visit the shop to try more

You can find this delicious dessert place on Therry Street. We were welcomed with smiles and menus to choose or create a pufflet! We decided to try the Milo Beast – definitely true to its name! We were pleasantly surprised with how gigantic it was. It’s a milo egg waffle with dark chocolate chip, cookies and cream gelato, buttery cream cracker, toasted marshmallow, milo soil and chocolate drizzle! Would highly recommend for chocolate lovers.

We also created a green tea egg pufflet! This was a Matcha flavoured puffle with green tea ice cream. Oh so good! The toppings we decided were fresh strawberries, cameral popcorn, a few green pockey and chocolate drizzle!

This cosy dessert place has swings that you can enjoy while you devour your pufflet! So if you like creating your own pufflet or you can not decide what to do – Pufflets has many of options for you to choose. Whatever you pick, we know it will be delicious! We would love to come back here again!

This is a Really nice place and good views, nice customers services and I really liked they waffles. They are really crispy and good taste. I love their drink as well, hk milk tea is the best!!!
Live_in_melbourne
It looked super cute, and thats about it. Egg waffle wasnt bad at all, I like it. But the ice cream was horrible. Too sweet and cheaply made.

I had been here for second times. I had tried 5 shades of durian (I hope it is the corrected name) I love the atmosphere when I were there. I felt warm and it is contained a lot of nice smell of waffle. However when I tasted it. I love everything except the waffle. The waffle is no taste, only smell good. I'm a bit disappoint for that. For the greentea if you love the strong taste of tea I recommeded this glass. It's very nice.

I felt extremely ill after eating here...

We came here few weeks ago and ordered the taiyaki and earl grey. While the taiyaki tasted ok, we did not finish them as the ice cream had a strange after taste.

My tummy ended up feeling really weird the whole night and day after that. Possibly the worst ice cream I've had in Melbourne.
Melbourne Foodie
Extremely disgusted when I found a strand of hair on my puffle... Also, the puffle was too burnt, gelato... was not what we expected as we find it too artificial. Not really good value for the money. We won't be rushing back to this dessert place. Left very disappointed. Even though the staff was friendly, we did not have a nice experience at all.
Sarasuhaili94
really amazing flavour for the 50 shades of durian. can't fault it. ambiance is nice. there's room for improvement in terms of waiting time but once the cone is in my hand, all is forgiven!

Visited couple of times, and always been happy with the delicious desserts! The egg waffles are slightly too sweet depending on which topping, and overall very huge for a dessert. It is definitely filling enough to have as a quick snack rather than as a small dessert. I find it a bit pricey but considering that they are all hand-made by order and the size of it, it seems reasonable.

My friends and I decided to try this place out on a Saturday afternoon. The shop was super crowded and busy when we visited. I got the 50 shades of durian waffle and my friend got the milk tea taiyaki. The durian gelato has bits of durian meat in it which made it really good and the flavour was authentic. I got to try the milk tea gelato too which was also good. I think pufflets offers yummy desserts but the prices are pretty steep.

Such a cute little dessert bar. I like how they have swings as chairs inside.

In terms of food, I had the Pandan Jelly Egg Waffle with condensed milk, peanut crumb and vanilla ice-cream (which had a subtle durian taste to it). It was pricey. For $13, I could have eaten a full meal plus drink.

The Pandan jelly could have a stronger flavour to it. I liked the peanut crumb for texture. The actual waffle itself was alright, but lacked the eggy fragrance.

I would be interested to try out the Taiyaki with red bean soft serve next time!

Instagram @Flabnbone_Food

After reading some of the reviews, we thought to ourselves how bad could it be.. Honestly, it is pretty bad. We ordered the durian and pandan puffle and unfortunately, very big miss for us. We had similar dessert like this from hongkong but that was impressive and we don't remember it tasting anything like this. Also, beware that it may gets a little messy to eat. Too expensive and time wasting for poor quality products. We did not finish our dessert. Overall, quite disappointing so we won't be back.

A month ago, came to try out this place after having dinner on Lygon and ordered the 50 shades of durian. Queue pace is a bit slow but you can see the team working on each order wholeheartedly, given to the nature where some orders are DIY based. My friend commented that some part of the cone tasted subtly bitter but I can't taste it. Minimal decor but interestingly, they have indoor swings. Overall, we are satisfied with our order and would definitely come back for a visit again to try out the rest of the menu.

I have always wanted to try the egg waffle here, but I was completely disappointed with it:( It is nothing compared to the traditional egg waffles in Hong Kong and it is too pricey for what you're getting! Also it was so annoying to eat when the crumbs kept dropping on the table. Never come back!!

Modern art urban interior. Difficult to find as there are no big signage outside. We ordered Milo waffle as we saw someone eating it & looks heavenly. Pebbles shaped waffles crispy outside & softer inside. Milo like chocolate ice cream in the middle but it tasted a bit bland Icey. It has a Burnt marshmallow & was soft big without overpowering taste. Overall nice for occasional sweet craving. Sitting inside not that appealing & the modern interior design kinda bland & cheap style. Staff was pleasant & attentive! Overall I would give 3.3*

Gosh this place is so millennial! We had the taiyaki with Thai milk tea and blueberry soft serve and an original pufflet with white choc, Thai milk tea soft serve and Nutella sauce. The soft serve was yum! The taiyaki and pufflet batter was average - bland and not quite as puffed up as one would get in Hong Kong. There's a few stools but many people standing around waiting on a Saturday afternoon. Service can take a while, but staff are friendly and helpful. You can taste test the ice creams which change from time to time! It's fun, but not amazing. (Good for Instagram.)
