Review Goody's Burger House - Melbourne

Debi Slinger
I decided against a burger and went for the tortilla and it was not too bad. Good portion size, lots of fries. Taste was fresh obviously because I watched them make it. It came on a large cane tray with absorbent paper (better than a napkin) and a small wooden skewer which I imagine was for picking up the fries. Plus a paper napkin. Plus a tiny plastic container with sauce to dip your fries in. All in all, quite minimal on waste. Menu is extensive and there is plenty to choose from. Staff were helpful and friendly. Interesting that there was a radio station or something similar playing in the background in what I would guess was Spanish but this place touts to be Greek so I’m not exactly sure. They could also use some extraction fans as the place has a very strong smell of fried food. As it’s school holidays it was reasonably busy with kids and families. Prime location on the corner or Russell and Lonsdale Streets. Notes: suitable for vegetarians, vegans and those with dietary needs, restaurant is wheelchair friendly, kid friendly and takeaway available.

Found like place to look very nice from the outside. Nice feeling once inside too, with nice decor around the place. Burger itself was nice and was a great idea to be able to choose the size of the burger. Chips on the other hand felt like it let down the meal and couldn't been cooked a little longer to give it the extra crunch. There also seems to be a ventilation problem on the outside as walking along the side of this place (on Lonsdale), the smell of the oil is kind of off-putting.

The old saying goes, "don't judge a book by its cover". Well this is quite true for goodys. From shop fittings, decors to the pictures on the menu, everything looks great. They must have spent a fortune on renovations, however, with all that money spent on the looks, they could have spent a bit more of the quality of the ingredients. Burgers were bland, although not expensive, you would expect a good bun at least. The effort of making a burger just wasn't there, a lifeless burger. Chips were very lightly salted. Overall, charming appearance tainted by the quality of the food. - MustBeHungry

One of worst places to have a burger in Melbourne! Location is prime but that's about it. Super low quality frozen burger patties. too salty everything. Mac Donald's style chips. Best to Avoid, nearly anything else is a better choice

Sadly the nice decor failed to impress me. I liked the décor, but burger was bland. The lettuce leaf hanging out of the burger gives an impression that they are not holding back on good stuff in your burger, turns out that was a decoy. Mystic is too loud, you can't even hear when they call your number. Staff are okay and the place is clean.

I've been smelling the food everytime I walk past this shop for more than a year. Finally tried it and it was an amazing burger. Will be back again. Did I mention they have beer here too?

A very clever, retro burger house. Depending on how hungry you are, they offer a variety of patties at very affordable prices. Drinks come in a classic coke glass, which I thought was a nice touch. Their regular chip choice may be similar to MacDonalds, but the experience and quality is much better, for not much more money

Burger was nice I only tried one the kids enjoyed their meals and had a lot of fun with the houses so will visit again. I've had some crappy burgers from other places but this was actually nice that they had three different sizes you can choose from to suit your appetite or budget.

Absoluetly love this place back in Greece. Great here too. Doesn't deserve the hate. Absolute legend of a shop

Food was sub-par. The employees were nice and friendly, however, the manager with white hair looked like she really hated her job. She started kicking our good out while we were still eating because they were apparently closing. Ruined the whole dining experience for us.

I am astonished at the poor reviews.I can only wonder if the chicken burgers are far superior to beef burgers (assuming that is what other reviews had).We have been there twice (once back in April and in August 2019) and found the burgers succulent and fresh. Really great quality and we were debating if they were better than Grilld. My whole family were really delighted with their food.Highly recommend chicken strips and extreme chicken burger.

FOOD TRIP
Goody's Burger House has the prime location on the corner of Russell and Lonsdale. However their burgers didn't match the real estate. Wouldn't come back. A variety of Burgers, Fries and Loaded Fries. The loaded fries were good. Great topping and good flavour. The regular fries went stale really quick. The burgers were average at best, their patties were not juicy or flavourful. But perhaps that's the style they want? ★★

Reminds me of drunken nights out travelling in Greece. What people don’t understand is this isn’t an 8bit or B.east burger joint it’s a fast food like McDonalds but with a Greek twist. Surprised with so many “Greeks” here in Melbourne it’d be reviewed so poorly.
Bitten Fingers
Saw the same reviews but I had faith because it can't be that bad. Well it was. Service was good and fast. Heard beeps in the back, didn't think anything of it.  Bun was chewy like it was in a microwave (the beeps) , patty was not fresh.  End of the day tasted like a 2 day old hungry jacks microwaved way too much.Nice ambiance, friendly staff and fast to serve my microwaved burger
Miss Australiana
Inflatedly expensive food that comes together with terrible service that you will never forget and never ever come back again. Please do us a favour! Close this shop down

Not sure why people are rating this place so low. I stayed near one and dined there on two consecutive nights. I found my particular burger the Extreme Beef Bacon to be quite delicious.
Dimmy Georgiadis
Oh my goodness. I saw the terrible reviews and I became curious. Why did I become curious. Haha. This place was terrible. Cool looking place but man the food is atrocious
Mmc683
Terrible.  The burger patties are the cheap thawed from frozen, processed gelatinous crap.  Very overpriced.  Will never set foot in this place again.
Jodie Pham
One of the worst burgers I’ve had. Beef patty could be described as just so processed. Burger was very dry did not enjoy this at all. Very over priced for what you get.
Mr NomNom
Best way to describe this place: Sub-par fast food burgers at inflated price point. Food is not that fast either<br/><br/>Was it the worst burger I've ever had, no it was not. This place did however serve the worst burger I've ever had from a burger joint (and I'm including fast food burgers in this as well). The beef patty was clearly a highly processed beef patty. The flavour was similar to Hungry Jack's except the quality was much worse, with some parts of it undercooked as well.

I have been backpacking Australia for the past 2 and half months and was looking for the worst reviewed restaurant to eat at, just to see if online reviews were reliable. <br/><br/>I was really hoping they would be wrong and this would be a misunderstood hidden gem, but I was wrong. <br/><br/>I ordered the Bacon Cheddar Angus burger with fries and a chocolate thick shake. <br/><br/>Burger: ($12.90)<br/>The buns were soggy and basically disintegrated in my hand, it had way to much sauce on it (I think it was mayo and aioli). The burger was burnt and flavourless (I question if it was actually angus beef) and the bacon was hardly cooked (if cooked at all). There was also NO CHEDDAR CHEESE, just the liquid cheese for nachos. <br/><br/>Fries: ($4.00)<br/>The fries were undercooked, over salted and soggy. Like they had just come out of the freezer bag and microwaved <br/><br/>Thick shake: ($4.50)<br/>It was not thick at all and tasted like it had a tablespoon of instant coffee in it, not good. <br/><br/>I don’t understand after all the bad reviews why it is still like this. The pictures on the outside are completely false (the burger looked NOTHING like it) and the food was not worth $5 let alone over $20. I am very disappointed and really question the 5/5 reviews on here. <br/><br/><br/>
Oodreiilittlepotato
Came here probably 2 years ago, and i think they just recently open that time. The burger was a bit dry if i tried to remember and the fries was really salty. A good choice when you need to sober up. But it was okay that time. Idk if the quality a bit down today.
Pradeep Chirakkal
worst burger (so wet) and so bad service... dont go there... it is all a low grade frozen pattys there. never gonna come back. it should be called Badies burger not goodys..
Kin Shaun Mak
Burger pattie texture is like bouncy meat. If you try wobble the pattie to make it crumble apart as with a proper real meat pattie, it does not. You could slap something with it and it would still maintain its structure.<br/>
Sirisha Vijayakumar
Only one vegetarian option. Food was pretty decent. Ambience was good too. Meat lovers or beef lovers will definitely like this place. Nice place to hang out with friends with a chilled beer.
PS CustomMade
Not at all impressed. Ordered the "classic Bacon Burger". Friendly enough counter staff, but that was as good as it got. long waiting period. Wasn't hot. Bacon was not cooked(fat was still white and meat was pinkish red). Thrown together would be a fair description. In my opinion, tasteless!<br/>Quite probably, no definitely, the worst burger I have ever eaten(and I'm over 60YO) with plenty of good burgers under my belt.<br/>App did not allow any lower rating (like 1/2)
Pink.rhapsody
Flavours were mostly ok but this was the wettest sloppiest burger we’ve ever had. Had to go ask for cutlery. <br/>You can taste additives in the Angus patty - it tastes like a low grade frozen patty.<br/>Chips were fine and the seasoning was ok but not as good as Nandos. <br/>
MsMarie
This place has got a great location but the burgers are wet and sloppy. I had the cheddar burger or whatever it’s called, it took us 20 minutes to work out the complicated menu. The chips were soggy it made me think it’s come from the frozen section of the supermarket. The burger was too saucy it just fell apart when I picked it up for my first bite. Not worth the visit, sorry.
Got_2_lunch
Burgers were average, wet and pretty bland. They were out of some burger options and ice cream machine also not working so no thick shakes. Fit out is 'modern' but came at lunch and most tables were littered with half eaten food that wasn't being cleared. Staff seemed friendly enough but the wait was longer the I'd expect and I had to ask for take away containers by the time my buzzer when off. 'Fried' chicken burger consisted of 2 crumbed chicken strips that looked straight from the freezer section. Probably better to hit up Maccas for the price

The hamburger are not bad, good paty and good fries. The staff is very nice but I saw one of the managers (a gray-haired woman) speaking in a VERY BAD WAY to one her employers.
Lovefood
Just had a great Angus burger, chips and drink at this place (prices are very reasonable for the size of the burger, and was very filling). Staff is friendly, the burger was made to perfection and the chips were great. Happy to come here again....ps and you can purchase a beer here if you chose
Luke
Thought I would try Goody's as it is across the road from my work place.<br/><br/>Sad to say I was very disappointed. First impressions were good, the shop is modern and inviting.<br/><br/>The burger however was not so fortunate. I'm not sure where the patties came from, but taste and appearance wise they look pre prepared. Strange after taste and the texture was not right.<br/><br/>Unfortunately the experience was disappointing and unless quality improves, I will not be returning.
Peter Smith
Nice place and food. Try the green burger and new onion rings. The staff a very friendly and the manager is very presentable and always accessible.<br/><br/>
NoCapsicumPlease
Totally disappointed about this place. The staff definitely discriminated us when we ordered at the counter. He looked angry but then smiley and friendly to some other local guys. Chips were yucky. Won’t ever come back
Millie Webber
This place is actually amazing! I loved it, the food was fantastic and the place was clean and the staff were fantastic! highly recommend if you're looking for a good feed!
Angel Khong
Goody’s burger was actually pretty good; the patty was tender and I especially loved the burger sauce. The fries was decent as well. The menu though was unnecessarily complicated for a fast food joint (regular meal, maxi meal, extreme...??). The venue itself was nicely modern, but it was full of smoke at some point when we were there that they intentionally kept the doors opened to help rid of the smoke.
Theocharis Kouthouridis
Loved it , I had a Club sandwich and it was huge tasty and with a lot o fries!<br/>I recommend it for two persons cause it is huge and will get you a full belly alone!
Magy Kontou
Great place to be after late night drinks! the menu has a lot of option - the burger is really tasty. One of the best fast foods in the city! + Plus is open until 2AM!
Mapcoffeegt
Goody's is rad. Congrats guys very nice food. I'm amazed how this place has not taken off as I walked by recently and it was empty, its actually really delicious id you want fast and clean.
Brett Boogie
Nice venue. Daggy but nice. Staff were friendly and quick. Solid team. Was working next door for the week so I came in every day and never had bad service. Burger was good. Have to say, the smallest burger is best because of meat to bun ratio is better. Bun is fresh. Club sandwich was good too. Chips are decent size and comes with two dips. Highly recommend this for a quick bite in the top of the city.
Eoin Lennon
Really tasty burger, fresh, portions were perfect size, One of the things I liked most was that the Bun wasn't dripping in grease/oil they let the oil run off the cooked burger before placing it on the Bun, That stuff matters!! to me.
Jemima Hankin
fantastic small burger joint, excellent food and polite, helpful staff. would definitely recommend as a late night haunt. nice alternative to the more commercialised grilled, nice to support the small business
Lucy Johnson
I don't care what people say about the meat patty, the veggie burger is delicious and flavoursome. Better value than other gentrified burger joints in the city, I'll be back soon!
David Bos
New extreme burger was quality. Easy value for price, will be back for more. A broad menu to go through even some salads for healthier eating.
BBCk
Save your money, go to mcdonalds. This place is disgusting. <br/>My father and me had a big day in the city and thought we could try this place. whilst leaving the owner harassed us to fill up his ego on if it was good or not. <br/><br/>Im not sure if he has tried his own food.
Brianna Summers
The burger I had was pretty big, tasty and nothing like what most people are talking about here. You've got to keep an open mind people and realize that everyone's tastes are different and not evey burger place will try to be the next 'Mcdonald's' either.
Shun Liu
My advise is one word DONT...food is so average here that you'll probably be getting much better burgers and chips at Maccas and Hungry Jack, yeah that's right maybe even 7Eleven
Amit Tuteja
I ordered a beef burger and my friend ordered a chicken burger. We also ordered fries and onion rings with it. The young lady serving was attentive enough as we were the only customers there. My burger was ok, I have had better. But the real disappointment was my friends burger, the chicken was raw from inside. When we brought it up to the lady's attention, she offered to fix it for us. But what we received was a totally dry piece of chicken which was inedible. We left it there and walked out. We won't be back!!
YUM
Attractive decor and friendly staff. Whilst the ingredients in the burger were fresh, the meat patty reminded me of a microwaveable burger that you can buy from the supermarket freezer. If they were to change the patties I'd probably return.
CT
Should've gone to maccas instead. Burger was sooo dry and didn't even taste that good. Just overall thumbs down WILL NEVER COME BACK TO THIS JOINT AGAIN!!!

Haters gonna hate (and hate rate)<br/><br/>Went to Goody's and I enjoyed my meal. Ordered the Rock n Rolla burger extreme in a large combo and contrary to what many people are saying the ingredients were fresh, tasty and delicious. I get the feeling a lot of the hate directed towards new places in Melbourne comes from people with an ulterior motive (like those that work for the old franchises maybe).<br/><br/>My advice? Judge for yourself. Check out my photographs and see what you think. A picture's worth a thousand words. I found the burgers to be really tasty but then if you want something you already know stick with 'Macca's' although personally I'd rather try all the new things I can.<br/><br/>Pros: Great friendly staff, inviting decor, relaxed atmosphere, a good place to hang with mates or dates<br/><br/>Cons: Burger patty is a little bit on the bland side but still tasty, chips are pretty good could be a bit more flavorsome but then this is a new place so I'm sure they'll learn and improve.  (I am an optimist) :)
Goblin Girl
You'll either hate or love this place. I love it. Ordered an Angus cheeseburger which came out quickly with a soft fresh and bouncy bun. The meat which has been controversial was in fact pretty delicious to me. It tasted like smoky beef with medium-rare texture to me. The cheese used was mild but flavourful. Chips were crisp and fresh and perfectly salted too. <br/><br/>Give this place a try if you're after something different and controversial. I wasn't expecting much from the experience after reading reviews but it turned out quite pleasantly for me.
Justine
The.worst.burger.ever.in.Melb! Don't even bother. Dry processed meat pattie, falvourless. Chips were not too bad though. Service pretty quick.
Luk Hoi Ching
The classic cheese is surprising! They have improved a lot! That's a bargain compare to other burger house in Melbourne cos It's only $5 and massive:D
Samantha Hare
Really good value. meals were massive and really well priced. Also has a really good kids meal. super cheap with a great toy and proper juice. Definitely recommend Goody's!
Hao Soon
Had the Rock n Rolla classic and wasn't disappointed! Generous with the truffle mayo which is a big deal! You'd expect to pay at least $15 at other places JUST because it has truffle mayo or anything truffle relate, but the burger only costs $8.50! I'll be back for more! 🍔🍟
Rohan
You'd think oh Goody, this place will have good burgers. Uh ah. This place has the worst burgers. Also, when you are drunk, anything would taste godly. This place sadly didn't even pass that test.
Judy Nguyen
We were lured into this place from the great decor and thought we would get a juicy satisfying burger to curve our burger cravings. Burgers were so lacklustre, meat patty was almost cold to the touch and the piece of cheese didn't even melt. Chips also tasted like they had been cooked a while and sat there for a while getting soggy. The only good thing was the coke we ordered. Customer Service at counter could also be improved. Won't be visiting again, go maccas instead
Stephanie Papazois
Have been to Goodys before in Greece but much preferred this Goodys store. The menu is a little different. Meals were really fresh, tasty and full of ingredients! Can't go wrong with a nice burger on a lazy rainy Sunday afternoon. Yum!
Emir Sağır
Burgers are very average. The cheese in the burger was not melted at all. And the chips were cold. It s not my favorite burger place in melbourne.
Daniel
Got the "Angus" burger. Worst burger I've ever tasted. Just a more expensive version of hungry Jack's except hungry Jack's actually tastes good. Don't waste your time and if your in the city get a better burger anywhere else.
Christina Demetriou
THE CLUB SANDWICH OH MY LORD!!!!<br/>Highly recommend!<br/>If you get it with 'goodies special sauce' on the side in a large meal it is PERFEEEECTO!!<br/>YUMMO! IN MY TUMMO!
July2012
I like Melbourne for burgers and I've been wanting to go to this place for about a year. <br/>The first thing I look for is the patty. It needs to be pressed into a grill and taste like meat with a bit of char. From there you can be all "What are the sizes of the meals and the cost and variety?"<br/>This place doesn't get past the patty. They taste like filler manufactured pre made coles meat pattys.<br/>Who cares if anything beyond that works?<br/>Not coming back.<br/>I hate giving bad reviews.
Fotis
The club sandwich is great. The feel is friendly and fun, casual youthful and unpretentious. The feel is summery and i love the beer on tap. Club sandwich, French fries and a cold beverage - nice.
Daria Taafe
Nothing much to say that's not different to the other reviews. I also wish I'd read the reviews before eating here. Don't let the fancy facade fool you, the meat patties are the awful processed type and the chips aren't even good. Sorry Goody's but the burgers are better at Hungry Jacks.
Beth Camier
Food was terrible.  Had a burger and the meat was completely dry and salad consisted of one tiny piece of tomato. Venue looked great from the outside but once inside you could see mess and salt covering every table. I would not dine here again, very disappointing.

I should have checked Zomato before eating here... but I've walked passed a few times with there's an amazing smell that wafts through the air as you pass, so I thought it would be good. But don't let it fool you. The burges here are terrible. The meat seems almost fake... and somehow the chips were bad too. Would never come back.
Sam
From the outside this place looked like it was going to be amazing. It was such a let down that I can't even be bothered reviewing it properly. Burgers were average, chips with bacon and cheese were average. Not somewhere you'd go back to & a real shame for such a nice looking place in a great location
NomNom2000
I tried the Philly & the Cheeseburger at this place. The worst burgers I've had the displeasure of tasting!<br/><br/>The burger patty was dry and tough and made me feel like I was chewing on a leather belt. The taste wasn't much better either, resembling cheap home brand sausage meat. There was no freshness here, just a strong artificial tasting flavour; So much so that, blindfolded, I would not be able to pick whether the meat was beef, pork, chicken or something else. <br/><br/>The bun and the veggies were ok, but nothing special.<br/><br/>The chips that came with the meal were the only thing I had no objection to. They were crunchy enough and had what looked like paprika sprinkled on them. Most importantly they were not overly salty, which is good.<br/><br/>In summary, I quietly cheered when my body (r)ejected the burgers a couple of hours later. Won't be back.
Adele Vetrano
Burgers were poop. <br/>Tasted like a 7/11 burger you'd heat up in the microwave. The patty was like plastic. The place looks so nice but don't be fooled
Academic013
Found a burger joint worse than McDonalds. I am scared to think what was in that patty, it was disgusting. On top of that, the service was slow. Place is noisy and glary. Keep walking past...
Danvjacobson
Like others I should have read the Zomato reviews before ordering. Goody's served possibly the most unpleasant burger patty I've ever eaten - in both taste and texture. I was tempted to leave it and get lunch somewhere else, but I hate wasting food so I ate it, and now I wish I hadn't.
Dany Ngo
Chili burger<br/><br/>This restaurant is very vibrant and welcoming. It has amazing sliding glass doors and clean toilets. The burgers are almost as good as the faeces in the toilet bowl. Highly recommended if you're willing to smear donkey turd on your lips
Mark Guardiani
Very very poor. First off, they couldn't cope with the lunchtime rush and all customers were waiting far too long for their food. On top this .. they got my order wrong .. then I had to wait longer for the fries .. which never came until I went and asked for them.. ugh. Now the food.. I echo some of the previous comments.. probably one of the worst burgers I've had anywhere. The 'standard' patties were like home-brand supermarket patties. Very dry and firm. My co-workers pattie was very undercooked. And the fries (when they finally came) were ok'ish but so very under-seasoned. I saw a few customers go back and request extra salt.. so when I watched the guy (who I think was the owner or manager) salting up the fries giving the 2 combined batches of fries 2 measly shakes of salt it all made sense. Where's Salt Bae when you need him!? Decor is nice tho! lol. AVOID!
Mr And Mrs S
As i write this i still feel sick from that piece of rubber that Goodies calls a meat pattie. Goodies decor and prices r good, but their burgers are anything BUT.<br/>We all would prefer to pay a little bit more to get better quality. So my advice to u is if u do decide to brave this so-called burger house, i would advise paying a bit extra an getting the angus pattie.<br/>Or better yet, the burgers r better at hungry jacks.<br/><br/>The chips werent bad which was the reason for extra. 5 score we gave it.<br/><br/>We score it a total of 1.5/5<br/>Would we come back? Never... as I'll probably be dead from food poisoning<br/>
Nev
The shop definitely looks good. But this is probably the worst burger I've ever had in Melbourne. Just not worth it. Terrible customer service.
Trang
Don't waste your time and money here. Food is less than ordinary! Staff not particularly helpful. Nothing else to add, just need to fill character space
Victor Lam
ABORT! ABORT! ABORT! Do not let the shopfront fool you, you will be disappointed. <br/><br/>The manager walked around with my meal for about 15 minutes calling out the wrong order number. When they finally figured out that they were calling out the wrong number (they had not even reached that order number) the food was cold... or should i say colder - my friends' orders that were completed in about 5 minutes were cold anyway.<br/><br/>The chips are okay. You get a generous amount of tomato sauce and mustard for them. The patty was dry and thin. The burger was advertised as having melted cheese but mine was fridge fresh. <br/><br/>This place has become the butt of our jokes. <br/><br/>
Kevin Nguyen
It looks enticing from the outside, but honestly have never had a worse burger in my life. The meat patty was dry and overcooked, it was the first time I've taken the patty out of the burger and finished the bread instead.
Annie13
Was looking forward to a juicy burger but was sorely disappointed! The meat was dry and spam like texture. Fries were bad. Definitely won't be coming back
Chad Cavuoto
Awesome burgers .. would totally reccomend <br/><br/>It's pretty rare for me to leave a burger place feeling full and satisfied but I just did .. great service, awesome American type menu and priced really well.<br/><br/>Burger patties were juicy and thick and the onion rings with the cheese sauce .. AMAZING!!!! <br/><br/>They are that good its enough to tempt me to jump in an UBER on my lunch break just to grab some of those onion rings
Ramona Chen
This is the "naked burger" !!! Yeh, I see your point, it's naked, then why you put in all the burger section when it's nothing like a burger. The angus beef patties like two rocks. <br/><br/>Never gonna go again.
Lucy Pandazopoulos
This place has improved dramatically, providing outstanding service and delicious food. The staff were very nice, the food was delivered to our table in a efficient time and the restaurant was clean and comfortable.
Ryan Kinokio
They should rename this place to GOOFY'S. The meat tastes and looks like the cheap dry dog food they sell at supermarkets. I ordered a double cheeseburger, a rock n'rolla angus, some fries and a coke. <br/>(1) Customer service was very rough and below average. Got served by an ugly clumsy tall girl with rude manners<br/>(2) The beef patties at the cheeseburger were tasteless and i doubt it was real meat. Like they use some kind of cheap synthetic material. The cheese too was like plastic, definitely processed. They put so much sauce at the buns to cover the disgusting taste.<br/>(3) The Angus rock n rolla was rubbish too. A burned, hard, chewy, rubbery patty. It was like eating burned cartilage. The sauce was bitter too while the brioche bun was way too sweet and slightly burned. <br/>(4) The fries were the cheap frozen variety you could buy from Coles. Not only  tasteless but also some of them were cold. I think they've mixed some hot ones with cold ones and then they served them to me.<br/>(5) The coke was definitely not coke. I think they mix some cheap syryp with water.<br/><br/>All in all, I doubt this kind of businesses could survive in the competitive Melbourne market
Don Djoe
I should have checked zomato before we went here for dinner. This place looks great from the outside but just like what any other reviews pointed out, the goodness stopped there. The burgers were way below the standard of what i would call an okay burger. The patties was by far the worst offender, tasted like a fake meat. The fries was allright buy way too bland. It's a pity that such a good location and interior design were not accompanied with good food. Actually, there is one more thing, the digital menus also flickered too fast making it hard to focus. Doh!
Stephen M
They set your expectation quite high with a modern shop design, bright lights and appealing menu. Though as others say the burgers are not up to Melbourne standards. The meat seems a bit funny, kinda like what you expect to see inside cheap sausage rolls. Chips are dry, dips are good though. We didn't wait too long since we were there 9pm at night.
KSWH
Guys...this place is abysmal. Promising looking shopfront, needs a new patty recipe. Agree with the rest of the reviews here. If they don't step up soon they will be moving into administration. Ahha
Customer27910
This place is disgusting. Appalling customer service with 2 bored workers ignoring us and chatting behind the counter. For such a nice place with great location this place fails in all aspects. Asked to change a burger (no bun or ketchup but add bacon) and was told this place won't do that. Had to put an order through twice as they forgot 1 out of our 3 burgers, waited 15 minutes during a very quiet time and then the burgers were attrocious. Beef burgers tasted microwaved and salty, buns were hard and stale and the chicken burger was dry, burnt and seriously the worst I've ever had!! Never going back and will make sure to tell everyone I know. Manager is rude also and staff need a wake up call.
Robin
In a word...disappointing. The restaurant has a nice, funky feel to it and the decor is very simple, but effective. But as for any compliments about my experience here that is it. I had to wait a little bit too long for my meal and when I did eventually get it, it definitely was not worth the wait. The patty has the texture and taste of one of those burgers that you reheat in the microwave at 7-11 (yes I have been desperate enough to have one of them once!!) They mention quite a bit in the restaurant that the burgers are Angus beef...well my good sirs, you are letting Mr Angus cow down by turning him in to whatever that patty was. The bun was sickly sweet too...I don't mind the brioche bun revolution happening at the moment but this was OTT. The fries were good, but just fries...how hard are they to stuff up?! Definitely multiple better options in Melbourne at the moment to get your burger fix.
Curry To Go
Nice deco, great looking photos on the menu. But No difference with McDonald's or Hungry Jacks. You just pay 3 to 4 dollars more and get a slightly bigger size of burger. Nothing special.

Probably, one of the worst burger restaurants in Melbourne. The so called angus meat is a cheap frozen meat with a disgusting taste, similar to a burned tyre. Very bad customer service too. Unfriendly, unsmiling, unattractive people in the front. The middle aged manager barely speaks any English and looks creepily/weirdly at the customers. The female cashiers (the tall one and the short one) are unsuitable for the job, first time I met so rude and unfriendly people in customer service.

Went out for a naughty Friday burger with a work collegue for lunch. We walked past the newly opened diner. I ordered the Smokey burger with fat chips and my collegue had Extreme barbecue burger which she raved about with the onion rings - inside the burger.<br/><br/>The burgers were freshly made and took a while to be served with generous portion of hot chips. There was not a lot of seating available but the overall set up of the store was vibrant and new and staff were helpful.

Very poor burgers, the place looks appealing from the outside but thats it. I purchased chilli burger bacon Angus , the bun is nice but thats it. The meat is pretty awful, its like the cheap meat you buy from coles, its not juicy, like real mince meat, the price for the quality of the burger is not on par. Grill'd, 8bit or New York burgers are better, sorry even Hungry Jacks or Mcdonalds does a better job. Customer service is good just burgers need improvement.

This is my first ever review of a restaurant. I've decided to write this because I was so disappointed with Goody's Burger House. While the restaurant looks the part, the burgers are simply the worst I have ever had. Saturday night, 26 November. Bought smokey burger. It was over cooked, no taste, dry. I got the impression that the restaurant has emphasised the decor over the food. If you like tasty burgers then don't go here.

Came here to try something new with my bf.The burger sucks to the core and not worth any penny. The chips were pretty good though. If u want to try some really good burgers head out to 8 bit or mr burger which are pretty good and worth the money.

I created this Zomato account purely to give Goody's a 1/10 review and warn others not to come here. One of the worse meals I've ever had. The burger and fries took 15 minutes even though I was the only person here, the patty was dry and cold and the fries (also cold) looked like they had been left out all day. Then I tasted it, probably the first meal I've ever tasted were you can actually taste the cheapness. It was like a half thawed discount supermarket job. I will never eat here again. <br/>People are on here saying they would probably prefer Maccas or hungry jacks, please... it's not even a contest. Those places are a delight compared to this rubbish. <br/>

This is the worst burger place, i have ever eaten in, chicken patty in my burger war very raw and very hard<br/>Its very hard to even take a bite on it <br/>Burgers in McDonald's or Hungary jacks are even way better then this shit place

As soon as we walked in a lady was returning her coffee - The milk must've been off. They offered her a replacement but she left instead. Despite the red flags we decided to try a burger - The meat tasted like deep fried sponge. Better off going to maccas or HJs.

Like what everybody else said. Nice decor and stuff but it ends there. I should have gone to maccas. Burgers felt like it came straight from the microwave. The cheesy chips are okay. Sorry but left very disappointed.

If you're coming here with an expectation that you're going to get some sort of world class burgers, you're wrong. <br/><br/>Goody's is pretty much Greece's version of McDonalds but with a much greater selection. <br/><br/>It's not Greek food, it's not artisan or gourmet burgers, it's fast food.

I've visited Goody's in Athens countless times on my numerous trips to Greece, so naturally when I heard they were opening an outlet in Melbourne I was very excited. Melbourne Goody's is a very well presented store with a young energetic team running it- food is ok, nothing amazing but ok. The overall experience is good- I suppose its brightened up a drab corner of Lonsdale st with its neon signage and it will probably give stalactites a run for their money lol- a bit of healthy competition always forces restaurants to lift their game and its consumers that benefit- I don't know if I'd eat here again- but I'm glad I tried it.

I think that its pretty good for the price. Huge portions aswell. I was not able to finish the food because it was huge!  The greek twist on the food impressed me and my greek friends.

Was dragged here by my colleague.  I will not let that happen again.  Burgers are too dry and overpriced for what they are. One star for service and one star for decor.

Goody's Burger house is a Greek/American burger joint which is in the greek precinct of Melbourne. They have been getting a few mixed reviews and I have one of my own. I went to Goody's with a friend and he paid for my chips and onion rings and I bought the roll myself.First of all they have the signs for beer and the beer on the menu and they don't even have their liquor licence yet. What the? When I saw that they had beer I thought that they were all ready.

Rubbish burger, dry and tasteless. Service is friendly but completely disorganised. The chips were OK, portion was big but with a price to match ($16 for a meal). Honestly, burger king is better. <br/><br/>Much better options in the city.
