For Szechuan that is authentic, delicious and wonderfully cheap, you can't go past Spice 9 Girl. It's my favourite place in Melbourne! The customisable mini hot-pot is great for lunch, and brimming with spicy goodness (I always order extra 'numbing' peppercorns). The fish is particularly good, and the friendly chef even once cooked spicy Chong Qing chicken for me, even though it wasn't on the menu. The atmosphere is very informal, more like cafe-style eating, but a definite must for lunch if you like Szechuan!
