A nice variety on the menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner options. The place was quite busy when we arrived, but the food still came out in a timely manner. Fresh too. Good value for money and tasty food.

I am really enjoying having breakfasts, lunches and take away. The hospitality of the restaurant is the ten out of ten for me. They are always warm welcoming to each of their customers. Highly recommend everyone go to enjoy each of the quality meals and meet with lovely people's.

One of the rare restaurants where Turkish Breakfast Culture Lives. Whenever I come here to have breakfast, I remember once again how much I fell in love with Turkish cuisine. Clean and delicious place. I recommend it to everyone.

Nice food. Good quality and fresh. We been there couple of times and each time orders different food. All the time food was really good. Staff are friendly and even offer the free tea for the first time we visited them. They always busy but you can find the spot most of the time you go there. I highly suggest to order the traditional tea. Well done guys. They also do takeaway.

One of the stars is for one of the staff who seemed nice and came to ask if we needed something unlike the other woman who brought food in complete silence and looked angry at us without any obvious reason. Food at the other hand was well cooked and quickly served.

We went to this place for the first time to get breakfast. They made a nice delicious food with enough amount. We ordered and egg with guzlame and green salad. The food was more than enough, I would say it will feed 3 tough eateries. We ordered a bred with the meet. In total, the food is great nice delicious and enough. However, they need to provide more tables outside especially now where is the weather getting warmer. That will make the experience much better. The chi (tea) is not what I was expected as a Turkish tea. I would recommend it for breakfast as I tried for it only but I haven’t tried their kebabs and mashawy yet.

My Key Three Pointers <br/>*New name, new management, new food <br/>*Serving sizes super large <br/>* Service needs a slight improvement <br/><br/>I had previously been to this location when it was called Mehmet Usta and owned by someone else. The food was good then and still very good now. They have done a mini Reno with furnishing, paint and some art on the walls. We opted for our standard options but they do have various other different dishes I have not seen at basic Turkish restaurants. The portion sizes are very large and very cheap for what we got. I really liked how they served my Iskender Kebab with the yoghurt on the side rather than split due to hot tomato sauce on top. The dips were very tasty and not watered down. Bread was super fresh. I did not love the peynerli, we eat lots of this and the feta used just tasted very different than what we usually have. My only recommendation is your service needs a bit of a smile and enthusiasm. Also I would have given it a score of 4 but witnessing the chef go out for a smoko in front of the restaurant in full view of customers is a little off putting for people who don’t smoke. <br/>

We love Turkish food so decided to come here slight detour on our way back from castlemaine. We ordered lentil soup, mixed grill & manti. All dishes were tasty. Our kids loved the soup & mixed grill. The atmosphere was really nice it got busy really quickly on a Sunday night. The staff were attentive & atmosphere was great for a family dinner out. If it wasn’t too far we would be regulars here. By the way it’s now called ‘Reis’s place’ so not sure if new owners but keep up the great food & service!

This places menu is a little different to your typical Turkish restaurant they have some traditional Turkish dishes as well as the usual dishes. The Adana is really nice, bread is always fresh. However they run low on shredded lamb and chicken very early in the evening, after 3 times of going there they said they were out. Service is ok but overall food is delicious
Guven Parlak
Terrible dry food food, unfriendly staff walking around like zombies overcharged 3 x small mix doner, kid meal lamb doner, and plate of kavurma no drinks no salad $91 rip off

Great Turkish restaurant with quality food. The portion sizes are very generous and filling. Great service, our waitress was very patient even with a large group.

Always impressed with Turkish food<br/>The service wasn’t the best because the workers have poor English skills <br/><br/>The Adana has so much flavour and dips were amazing <br/>The Turkish bread was very nice <br/>The rice and salad were a bit bland <br/><br/>It’s a very nice and modern restaurant <br/>Would recommend

Very clean and well lit restaurant. Was not expecting it judging from the outside. Food was presented very nicely and tasted just as good. Only one thing to criticize was the customer service in that the staff could've made it easier to get their attention. Staff could've been a bit friendlier, but all in all a nice local Turkish restaurant in the area.

Third time this place has given me the wrong food! Tavuk kavurma means chicken not meat!!! Then they had the guts to tell me it was my fault. Never again.

The restaurant was incredibly clean and the layout was very neat. Ordered a small mixed doner meal with beetroot and capsicum dip along with a side of chips. The bread came out fresh and steaming hot, the flavour of the meat was exceptional and it was juicy. The dips were phenomenal, I enjoyed the added bits of beetroot in the dip. The salad was a bit bland. The chips were cooked well. Customer service wasn't the best as staff were blunt and upon payment they did not state the total, just collected payment but overall a good experience.

SERVICE: 3.5/5<br/>Admittedly we gave Mehmet Usta a try after a nearby restaurant we regularly go was just too busy to wait. It was on a weekend afternoon and there was plenty of tables available. The lady that served us was lovely the whole time and kept coming to make conversation with my baby daughter. The food came out at a reasonable time and we were warmly greeted by all staff we came across.<br/><br/>FOOD: 4/5<br/>We had the mixed grill and a falafel plate. They were both fresh, flavoursome and very enjoyable. The meat was juicy, dips were especially delish, rice was cooked just right and serving size was generous. It's hard to break a habit as we have a regular place nearby but will definitely remember this restaurant if we want a less busier/quieter environment.<br/><br/>DECOR & AMBIENCE: 3.5/5<br/>Clean, lots of natural light and colour scheme of black, white and pops of red. Vibrant and fairly spacious restaurant. Would happily dine here as a couple or a family.<br/><br/>KID FRIENDLY: Yes, very comfortable & spacious, they are welcoming towards children.

I come here regularly and the food is always consistent. Large portion sizes, clean interior and good service. <br/><br/>Not a vegetarian but the vegetarian platter is one of my favourites! Adana is also amazing.

This place is great, cheap meal and family friendly atmosphere. I had a mix grill was amazing, the meat was really juicy and flavoursome. The tea and sweets are good too.

I had the Doner meal, which has lamb, salad & 2 dips. The bread was for the table which is good in one way but I would have liked my own so I didn't feel like I had to hold back and share. The lamb was really good, not to oily very taste and not dry at all. The salad was ok but just a salad. The dips where really good especially the capsicum one. Also the garlic sauce was really good. All up I'd definitely eat there again, was a little on the expensive side at $19.50 I was surprised as the menus on here says $12.50. I would get something a little more reasonably priced next time.

Service is wonderful, the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming, the food is absolutely delicious. The food is so fresh, meat is juicy and tender, the rice pudding is the perfect end to the perfect meal. Only thing I can fault is the bread, it's not fluffy enough and sometimes tastes stale, and please add dolma (vine leaves) to your menu!
Yus
No wait to be seated at 4 on a Sunday. <br/><br/>Food was good quality. More then usual effort made in the quality.<br/><br/>Friendly staff and quick service.<br/><br/>Will be baaack

These guys are as traditional as it gets when it comes to Turkish food. Service needs improvement also cleanliness was not as great as i like. overall decent Turkish food in a highly competitive area for Turkish cuisine.

I have to say this place makes the best gozleme I have had. Food is fresh and enjoyable. Service is what it is depending on who serves you but you don't generally go to these places for service. Good feed!

I've been looking for real cheese knafeh since I came to Melbourne and unfortunately couldn't find any, until i came across Mehmet usta's menu. Wow! Really good cheese knafeh so similar to palestinian nabulsi knafeh.

Worst service and attitude ever. Twice wrong bill,  each more than the bill I end up paying. And I have been told by the owner (I assume) don't make a big deal!!!!!! Basically pay and leave!!!!! <br/><br/>Poistive: looks and feel clean, food served is OK, portions are generous.<br/><br/>Negative: waitress didn't know, what food they were selling, service very slow, dirty plate left on the table after main course served, unfriendly staff, bad staff attitud. <br/><br/>When I asked my bill, I was given wrong bill which it was twice is more than what I paid at the end, I asked correct bill, second bill was also wrong, this time 30% more than my bill with so many extra drinks on it. After second time given wrong bill I went to cashier and asked correct bill. Gentleman there was upset with me because I complained to him. His response to my complain not getting correct bill was 'so what, people make mistake' when I said I can understand the first time but why second time,  his response ' so what, we can make 5 times more  mistakes, we are human what is the big deal'<br/>Well mister it is a big deal what if I was there with friends and not to look cheap, I give my credit without checking my bill???? If I did that I was going to charge twice more isn't it. But hey it is not your problem isn't it. Poor customer shouldn't complain and pay what ever you charge.<br/><br/>I suggest everyone if you dine in this place, check your bill properly. most likely you will be paying more than what you should pay.
Food
We had an early dinner reservation booked for 6 people. Was greeted by the friendly staff and given our menues. Very impressed with the service as i was unsure what to expect. We order all mains, mixed grill was amazing! Great value for money! Doner wasn't oily nor dry just perfect! Salad was fresh and crunchy and the dips and bread outstanding! We use to go the the other mob for kebabs "RK" but will never step foot there again. Also the place was nice and clean. We will be back! Keep up the good work and standards.

The grill platter is pretty good and the dips are nice and fresh, waiting time are too long even though place isn't full and customer service needs improvement.

Would definitely order the donner again. Had a large. The meet wasnt overly salted like other restraunts the meat was honest real meet and atmosphere was very family oriented which i love. Will be back !

I recommend this place for traditional Turkish breakfast but not for lunch. The breakfast has a good variety and it's more like a home made feel which I like very much. The service is ok, they do seem a bit tired and over it even though it's morning.
Good Food
A good place for authentic quality Turkish food. Recently renovated place with good seating area. The Mehmet usta special and adana kebab was served with salad dips and rice, meat was succulent and cooked perfectly .The lentil soup was delicious and full of flavour. Service was quick and friendly. $50 for two is good.

Very good standard for a takeaway Turkish restaurant.<br/>The lahmacun and Turkish tea is so good!<br/>All the meals are delicious. <br/>I think they need to renovate.<br/>The toilet was actually broken!<br/>Dirty walls and not very clean overall

The worst restaurant in melbourne. Service is beyond horrible.Unfriendly, very untimely (30 minute wait for a simple meal) and above all a depressing environment. I have been here twice and have had just has many problems each time, with the food, service and overall quality of this 'restaurant' if its even worthy of that title.

Amazing!. My partner and I have been here more times than we can count and we always feel like coming back time and time again! The food is amazing and so fresh every time. The service is great and the everything is extremely well priced! Great family restaurant :-) We will be back, no doubt!!

Excellent kunefe. This is a nice, family friendly place w/ excellent food. even better, the kunefe is one of the best in the area. it doesnt look like much from outside - sat behind a petrol station, next to a subway, and surrounded by industrial wasteland - but highly recommended.

The most beautiful kebabs I've tasted, staff wasn't as welcoming but the food was just so good to miss, it's a place that isn't good location but you guys are always busy, I'm a regular customer and I wish you guys success, love your job Mehmet! Love the food and mostly the Adana

Good simple food. I always drive past this place and by the unique name I thought it was a Asian restaurant or something, so I decided to dine in at Mehmet Usta's the other night and boy do I wish I had come here earlier, I was welcomed warmly as if I was a guest at John Howard's house, so after looking at the menu I decided to finally try the Adana and it was devine! The meat was cooked perfectly and the spices were just right, made me feel as if I was walking through the gawjus markets of istanbul or footscray but on my tongue, the staff were very friendly and the prices were fair for the good quality of food. If you visit mehmet Usta's say hi to the owner Emma and her sweet daughter Buse, I have become a regular at this place and I take my grandma there all the time and she does my head in.

Delish and aware of allergies :). Have been meaning to write a review for awhile. I've dined here many times. Thank you Mehmet Usta. I usually call before going in and my gluten free rice is ready when I get there. They also cook for me specifically catering for my allergies of onion/garlic which not many restaurants do. Thank you for being aware and catering to the needs of your customers!

Mehmet Usta - The Master of Turkish Food. Hidden place that's easy to miss if you drive by, and its the hidden gems that are worth going to!. Really nice place with friendly customer service and has all the typical Turkish meals including the authentic ones. When i was at Mehmet Usta i was in for a quick meal and had the lahmacun, which was fantastic. It tasted fresh and the base was thin and crispy.

Don't be fooled by its location. The food coming off the pass here is as good it gets anywhere, and all for a fab price :)

Yummy Turkish. Up to the outskirts of northern suburbia is Mehmet Usta. Offering a variety of very tasty Turkish shareplates. I came for brunch and was met with very friendly service. Recommended for people living in the north.

GREAT FOOD!!!. Great place to have breakfast, lunch or dinner. On offer is not only kebabs but other Turkish cuisine that you would find right at home. And the dessert Sutlac is to die for!!!

This place smells as good as it tastes. I eat Turkish food a lot since I immigrated back to Melbourne, but it's usually of the donair variety. I've been keen on trying Mehmet Usta since I had a squizz of their menu online. This place does a lot of the familiar grilled meats on skewers -- and wow does it smell good inside from all that sizzling! -- but there are many main meal dishes that I had not seen before. That's not surprising, because Turkey has so much history, so many cultures, such a diverse land mass, that it's only natural their food would have lots of facets.<br/><br/>I chose Ali Nazik, which is a fry-up of lamb chunks, firm tomatoes, onion and green banana capsicum, suffused with red oil that gives it a hot paprika edge. This all sits on a bed of smoked eggplant that's like a chunky baba ghanouj. The lamb was good, not inedible fatty chunks, but my favourite part was the eggplant. It was not at all bitter, and the smoky edge was more exotic than the eggplant/tahini/lemon juice dip I make at home. This item cost $18, so Mehmet Usta does not fall into the "cheap eats" category. It comes with a sandwich-sized loaf of chunked-up Turkish bread, though, so the dish is filling.<br/><br/>Memhet Usta is not as formal as Alasya in Brunswick or as funky-cool as Lezzet in Elwood (my favourite sit-down Turkish restos.) It's more like a Turkish roadhouse grill. The burly guy who gave his name to the restaurant, Mehmet Gundem, puts on a flaming good show at the grill fire and comes out to chat to diners too. The night I stopped by, there was a steady stream of swarthy guys and head-scarfed wives with their children coming in to eat or pick up takeaway. Maybe it's because I'm not from the west side of Melbourne, but this joint outside the Coolaroo station on the Craigieburn train line seems like an obscure spot for a decent restaurant. I'd say it falls into the category of "hidden gem."
