Review Cafe Blush - Melbourne

Quincy Malesovas
Cafe Blush is one of my go-to cafes as they're open late, but I only recently visited for food. I enjoyed a beautiful high tea platter featuring some incredible scones, a really nice Yuzu meringue tart, some vegetarian sandwiches and other goodies. For a main dish, I tried the truffle pasta which is incredibly rich and creamy and topped with a steamed, soft egg. Dessert is a must try here. The chocolate chiffon cake is light and soft and decadent without being too heavy, although I think the (extra cheesy) cheesecake coated in pistachio is my favourite dessert of all. Blush does a range of drinks, all of which are really great. While I usually go for a soy coffee, I love their matcha and beetroot lattes.

Had Mentaiko pasta and Chicken and Mushroom pasta with my wife. They were really nice and well seasoned. I am not particularly a big fan of pasta normally but I really enjoyed these two. The mentaiko one is my favourite. We also ordered mushroom soup and it was pretty good as well. The staff were friendly and the cafe decoration made the whole experience better. Haven't had a chance to try their cakes but that maybe for next time.

Really enjoyed my experience at Cafe Blush -absolute interior goals, great for an occasion or even just a catch up. Onto the menu- truffle pasta is definitely my highlight for savouries and the high tea is too cute, favourite has to be the dessert tier, the pastries were moist and exquisite. If you’re a Matcha lover, definitely try the matcha chocolate sphere experience.

Had high tea at cafe blush in emporium melbourne. Love the touch of Asian flavors in some of their pastry items - the lemon meringue tart had a surprising yuzu curd! The savory items are delicious and I in particular liked the smoked salmon one. Great selection of tea and coffee. You can always adopt for the bubbly high tea which comes with a glass of sparkling wine or champagne

Amazing atmosphere, love the squid ink seafood pasta, quick service and reasonable price tag. The only issue we had was our mushroom soup wasn't warm enough. However, their Matcha latte’s was fantastic and the latte art’s super adorable too. I'd recommend their Rose Opera Cake if you feel like having a simple afternoon tea with dessert that are not too overwhelmingly sweet.

GREAT QUALITY FOOD IN A COMFORTABLE ENVIRONMENT Tried this newish café on level 2 in Melbourne Emporium for the first time today at lunchtime. It’s well set out with movable tables for larger groups and a long seat bench along the back wall. The cuisine is modern Italian – Japanese fusion with a variety of pastas, club sandwiches, soups, and wagyu sliders. Desserts (which we didn’t try on this visit) include parfait, baked pastries, cakes and crème brulee. We selected a basket of curly fries and mayo to share for entrée, then had a delicious truffle mushroom fettucini and a squid ink seafood fettucini. Along with a coffee each the bill came to just over $65 for two of us. Service is fast and friendly and the café uses “real cultlery” so you can dine without adding to the plastic waste problem. It’s a bit noisy but that’s more a function of the busy weekend trade and the younger clientele it attracts. Its all on one level so will be fairly easy to negotiate for those with mobility issues – although it might be a bit challenging with a wheelchair (ask the friendly staff for a table near the entry!) Cash and cards accepted. Five stars for the truffle mushroom fettucine!!!!!

Our most favourite cafe 😋we are regulars and have tasted most of the scrumptious dishes including delicious dessert and let’s not forget the beetroot latte ! I highly recommend you book and have the high tea 😋

This place has potential, it’s gorgeous and comfortable; if only they weren’t so understaffed and undertrained. We went during tea time Friday, it was rather crowded. The servers looked utterly confused, with some wrong orders taken. Fortunately, they were polite and smiley. My strawberry parfait was average, melted a lil as it was standing at the serving counter for quite a while before being served. The Earl Grey creme brûlée was yummy though! Was a disappointed with the drinks being served. We were excited that they were serving coffee by Seven Seeds but it taste nothing like the original. Too much milk and under brewed coffee perhaps?

The place is VERY pretty and instagrammable. The drinks' presentation is also very aesthetically appealing but the taste was average. The staff members were quite rude and abrupt which I didn't appreciate during my visit.

I visited Cafe Blush on a weekend with a friend and the place was packed with humans!<br/><br/>We ordered:<br/>Chicken katsu sando - the chicken was nice and crispy with just the right amount of mayonnaise. <br/>Chicken and mushroom pasta - al dente pasta with lots of fresh ingredients in it. <br/>Matcha brownie - this was moist and delicious. <br/>Matcha latte - full of nice creamy matcha flavour and topped off with a cute kitty foam pic. <br/><br/>We had a blushing good time!

Amazing decor and fast service . A bit pricy but good quality drinks and simple meals. Busy with young crowd.

I always have a nice time at Cafe Blush! The cafe is decorated in such a pretty way, and you can see there's been a lot of thought into the detail of the decor inside - it's very instagrammable! <br/><br/>I've come here several times for a dessert and champagne, it's one of my favourite things to do in Emporium. The strawberry cheesecake is heavenly! <br/><br/>Since they do serve champagne, I really think they may as well serve wine also haha. <br/><br/>My only slightly negative thing to say is that my friend and I tried to visit last Friday night, we were there at 8.25pm and there was still several diners eating. But we were turned down, saying they were closed. I understand it was late but it wasn't that close to 9pm yet! We were thinking of just having cake as well which would have been quick to prepare. <br/><br/>Anyway despite that, I still love Cafe Blush and can't wait to try some of the savoury dishes.

Such a lovely, posh yet beautiful spot inside Melbourne Emporium.<br/><br/>The interior is everything I'd expect a high tea/dessert cafe to be. The colour pallet chosen was cute yet the interior was regal with gorgeous golden cutlery & lots of bottles of champagne around the restaurant.<br/><br/>DRINKS<br/>Rose: A slightly sweet yet bubbly and sharp champagne to start the meal<br/>Goji Berry Tea: A gorgeous pink tea with lovely berry notes<br/>Matcha Chocolate Sphere: A delicious combination of chocolate and matcha I couldn’t get enough of. Plus, the surprise inside the sphere is so cute!<br/> <br/>FOOD<br/>High Tea: A lovely high tea with lots of goodies. I especially loved the sweet elements, including lemon meringue, macarons & scones<br/>Chicken Katsu Sando: I loved this sandwich. The chicken was super crispy, as it was fried in panko crumbs. The katsu sauce was so flavoursome & the mayo added some creaminess to the sandwich<br/>Mentaiko Pasta: A lovely pasta dish that had perfectly cooked spaghetti & a super oozy onzen egg to tie all of the flavours together<br/> <br/>The service was super, super polite & friendly. The food came out really quickly presented beautifully

Nice environment but one of the waitress isn't very friendly when im walking in to the cafe. First impression broken. Ordered the set menu wit the chicken katsu curry pasta and pumpkin soup. The pasta not really taste good. The chicken tasteless not even any salt before crumbed or in the crumb. The soup a little bit watery but taste nice. After few spoon, found a hair in the soup(like the photo I post). Complaint to the waiter and he change another one for me. Spoil my mood again.<br/>After I finish the pasta he sent me the cake which part of the set lunch. The cake was really nice and soft. The balance of the chiffon and the cream was perfect ! Maybe next time I should go back just for their cake.<br/>

Had an excellent time at this beautiful cafe in the city, they are a japanese inspired high tea and pasta place.<br/>*Location: Located in the Emporium Shopping Centre close to Melbourne Central it is easily accessed by car or train.<br/>*Ambience: Such a beautiful cafe, the decoration is gorgeous and it is a great spot to relax away from the busy CBD.<br/>*Service: The service was very good, the staff was happy to help and recommend dishes or explain more about the menu.<br/>*Food: The highlight was the Chicken Katsu Sando, a must try from the lunch menu. Another good choice is the Seafood Squid Ink Pasta. The high tea is awesome and it comes with a bit of everything, but it is worth to go for the dessert options such as the Chocolate Chiffon Cake or the Cafe Blush Mini Platter.<br/>*Price: The portions are pretty big and enough for sharing between 2 or more people.

Recently visited cafe blush with five of my friends and we decided to get the CAFE BLUSH HIGH TEA set and some of the other dishes from the menu.<br/><br/><br/>The high teat set is $45 pp and had quite an extensive range of sweet as well as savoury items along with the choice of tea or coffees (we decided not to upgrade to the rose one). My favourite out of the lot was the lemon meringue and those bite size macaroons. <br/><br/>Next up we decided to order <br/><br/>• Chicken katsu sando<br/>These chicken sandwiches the best. At $9.9 i felt it was a great deal, especially in comparison to the other ones out in the market. The katsu sauce was so flavourful and the pan fried chicken was a bit crispy on the outside and so damn juicy on the inside. I would surely go back for this again.<br/><br/>• Truffle pasta<br/>The best part about this dish was that the truffle flavour was highlighted (as it should) but they were definitely generous with the serving. The base was creamy and the onsen egg was a fun surprise.<br/><br/>• Chicken & mushroom pasta<br/>Reminded me of a nicely cooked creamy carbonara pasta. The cream sauce was very much similar to the above truffle sauce minus truffle in consistency.<br/><br/>• Seafood squid ink pasta<br/>This was my favourite pasta of the afternoon. Being my first time trying the squid ink pasta..i was not sure what i was getting into. But the presentation and the combination was a bomb for sure. The dish was so flavourful and the sea food mix was cooked to perfection.<br/><br/>• Bacon n egg salad with extra chicken <br/>The salad definitely helped us get our green balance ;)<br/><br/>• Chocolate chiffon cake & Strawberry cheesecake<br/>The chocolate chiffon cake was the dessert highlight for sure as it was so spongy and the slice had a generous serving of cream layer to it which made the experience more enjoyable.<br/><br/>Overall, had a beautiful experience and being introduced to the high tea set up just recently..it sure was a great experience 👌🏽

Hello. Imnikki
Cafe Blush offers an interesting mix of pasta and high tea, a concept not foreign to cafes in Japan. If either of those does not tickle your fancy, then I'm sure the adorable latte art and delicious cakes will.<br/><br/>The latte art here is second to none, and I spent a good 5 minute debating whether I should drink my matcha latte or continue to marvel at its cuteness. Upon taking a sip, I was impressed by its pronounced flavour as much as I was impressed by its look.<br/><br/>Our group of 6 shared a selection of sweet and savouries from the high tea set and chicken katsu sando, followed by pastas, and finishing with cakes and petit fours. Seeing that we consume so many delicious treats, I won't bore you with all the details.<br/><br/>If there's just one thing you must order here, it's the chicken katsu sando. Soft fluffy white bread sandwiched a thick juicy and crispy piece of fried chicken - simplicity at its finest.<br/><br/>The truffle pasta was also a must order dish. Just as frangant as it was delicious, truffle and pasta is always an infallible combination. The onsen egg added another level of creaminess to the dish, and watching the yolk oozed adds to half the fun in eating this dish.<br/><br/>Anyone with a sweet tooth would revel at the sight of the sweets here. The chocolate chiffon cake is not to be missed. A delicate and airy cake, with a smooth and light frosting, you'll feel like one slice is just not enough.<br/><br/>The elegant and beautiful decor only adds to the charm of dining here, and is a great spot to rest your feet after shopping in Emporium. Thank you for having me.

It was an absolute pleasure brunching at Cafe Blush. Starting with a high tea which is perfect to share amongst a group of friends. Followed by some delicious dishes like squid ink pasta and then more desserts. Highlights were the cute latte art that came with the drink and the iced matcha sphere which adds an extra special little touch

Such a nice and beautiful interior.<br/>Easy to find on the top floor of the emporium. The staff were super attentive and the food was really great!<br/>I recommend their set menu!

Cafe Blush is a restaurant primarily focused on pasta however it's not exactly traditional Italian flavours. It's very common in Japan to have restaurants serving Western food but utilising Japanese flavours. My favourite dish here is the Mentaiko Pasta, which is basically marinated cod roe. The way it's made here has a creamy buttery texture. It is topped with onsen egg and nori which gives more depth to the flavour.

Very disappointing experience here at Cafe Blush. Came for a birthday with my partner, and we were left with tummy’s still grumbling. We opted for the High Tea experience and expected great things from the ambience of the cafe and the $90 price point for two. However, we came to realise the bundle consisted of a couple of slim sandwiches and tough/dry scones. For the price point I would have not expected such poor quality. We are now heading off to get lunch elsewhere as we are still left unsatisfied. Not worth your money!! Possibly could be for a coffee and scone but not for the High Tea experience.

We went in the morning, we were served by a lovely lady! We ordered their high tea experience and some coffee & tea! The High tea was served with a variety of different savoury and sweet treats! There was delicious sandwiches, and mini burgers. The sweets included scones, lemon meringue, & macaroons! It was delightful to sit in the elegant dining area, which made the whole experience wonderful! Highly recommend!

This is a great cafe in the Emporium. I can't comment on the service as this was an invite other than to say it was excellent across the floor.<br/><br/>There is a special 3 course meal that you can order at the price of a main course in many places so that's what I ordered.<br/><br/>On the menu was a choice of pasta, soup and dessert. <br/>There were 2 options per course. So my first course was the most amazingly delicious mushroom soup that I've ever eaten. <br/><br/>It was rich, creamy, and full of flavour. It was incredible! This is a vegans dream dish lol<br/><br/>My main was a Japanese Curry Katsu Pasta. Yes a Katsu pasta hahaha <br/><br/>This was spaghettini, chicken Katsu and spicy Japanese curry yummo. Is this Japanese infusion? Yep. And it worked so well. <br/><br/>The curry was spicy, the chicken Katsu cooked perfectly, it was moist inside and crispy on the outside. And the spaghettini was great, tasting like soba noodles and they were a nice addition to my meal. <br/><br/>My strawberry cheesecake had a really creamy consistency, and I enjoyed the fresh strawberries on top.<br/><br/>My partner had a chicken Katsu sando and a a sandwich plate. <br/><br/>The chicken Katsu sandwich on white was sooo good I could have eaten a tray lol. The bread was soft, the Katsu sauce w the mayo and moist pieces of Pablo fried chicken... a foodie heaven. <br/><br/>The sandwich plate had a turkey and cranberry sandwich, an egg salad tortilla wrap and a tomato cucumber sandwich. <br/><br/>This was another winner with some yummy flavours, and some nice variety. <br/><br/>And then matcha me!! I had 2 matcha lattes and they were by far the best matcha's I've ever had! A big call I know but it was soo creamy and thick. Yummo lol<br/><br/>My partners almond latte was excellent. They use high quality almond milk and you can taste the difference. <br/><br/>Overall this experience was fantastic and I honestly can't recommend this place highly enough.

Delicious pasta but the matcha latte is quite bitter for me, small space. I have to asked the staff 2 times to got a glass of water for me, not friendly at all

Cafe blush - the interior and exterior caught my attention when I visited the emporium in cbd. Loved their elegant decor. We came here during a quiet afternoon and this place is a great place to take photos in the relaxed environment. I only tried their matcha latte and it was good, though I prefer the matcha taste to be slightly stronger. Will be back to try their food.
@Holaitsjuliesfood
We came here for a little snack and got some cakes, Rose garden tea and the mandarin iced tea. There was lots of different flavours in the tea and it tasted really nice. The cakes and tarts were yummy and refreshing, they make it on the spot as you order it’s great! <br/>The cafe is so cute and has comfy chairs, going to come back soon to try some of the food and more tea!!

I got an invitation from cafe blush to try their set menu. So i ask one of my friends to accompany me to went there. So here i go.. first time arrived there, there was an issue in regards with the booking. So i waited for almost 10 minutes so the staffs can take care of it.. after a while, they showed us to our designated table.<br/><br/>FOOD (lunch set $25/per person)<br/>1. Mushroom soup (4 out of 5)<br/>2. Chicken and mushroom pasta (1 out of 5)<br/>3. Japanese Curry Katsu pasta (4 out of 5)<br/>4. Strawberry Cheesecake (3 out of 5)<br/>5. Chocolate Chiffon Cake (4 out of 5)<br/><br/>Overall, i love the mushroom soup and japanese curry katsu. It was 2 out of the 5 food from the set that i think suits my taste the best. Its full of flavours, crunchy, crispy, not to oily but so balance with each other. On the other hand the chicken and mushroom pasta hadn’t been cooked properly a.k.a undercooked. I told one of the staffs to bring new pasta and they comeback again with The undercooked pasta & found a raw chicken breast on it. I felt disappointed with this truthfully. Then the staffs brought the desserts for us,which actually improve the quality of overall experience. Its light, fluffy, cheesy and creamy. Perfect for afternoon tea.<br/>The ambience of the place were nice, warm, bright, pretty, really match for the high tea environment. After we finished with the food, i thank the staffs for the service and the their attentiveness they give to us. And i went to the counter to thank them and they ask me to pay. Im feeling confused as to why i need to pay eventhough it never happened before. However, im not trying to be cocky, rude or blunt to them.. so i just pay the food and leave the place..<br/><br/>In the future, please mr kingsley.w don’t let this matter happen with the other food bloggers. Hopefully u guys can improve your marketing service and thank you so for the experience!<br/><br/>#BHAsFoodDiary

The mains were not balanced and not as good as it looks. In fact the food does not really look like the pictures at all. My chicken katsu sando was too oily and the pasta was overly salty.<br/>Desserts however, did look amazing and were not too sweet. The toppings on top (strawberries) were sour and make the dessert less tasty as it should be.<br/>The entree soups were good and were also the only delicious part of the meal.<br/>This place is only good for photography purposes and not so much for taste.

Cafe Blush is the perfect spot to get your afternoon tea fix and they even do some delicious pastas!<br/><br/>Their matcha latte with a chocolate sphere (marshmallow inside) was a really fun concept, love that you can really taste the matcha in the latte!<br/><br/>Their chicken katsu was super crispy in the sandwich, and the white fluffy bread went really well with it.<br/><br/>Loved their mentaiko pasta as well, which may look simple but was packed with flavour!<br/><br/>Their chocolate chiffon cake was so light and fluffy - I would highly recommend this!
Eating Away Melbourne
Had the 3 courses set menu and it was a bargain. A soup, a pasta main and a dessert for $24.80! I thought everything would be super small portion but it turned out to be a great meal. The only thing is the soup and the pasta were both a bit under seasoning, but a bit of salt fixed them just alright!<br/><br/>Options are mushroom soup or pumpkin soup; chicken and mushroom pasta or curry katsu pasta; strawberry cheesecake or chocolate chiffon cake. Friend and I ordered everything between us and its all nice flavours. Almost forgot to say, french fries were soooo good! So was the blood orange tea. Left as happy tummies! Will definitely be back!
Carolyn
Worst experience ever! I have never rated negative before but this is definitely my first time! The waitress deliberately delayed my order for about 20 mins and just lightly said sorry. I have ordered a rose garden tea, and there is no single trace of rose or herbal tea favour in there at all!! Waste of $9...

3.5<br/>Beautiful desserts and cafe food. Beauty shown from the inside and out. Very popular as many people were seated at tables enjoying their meals. Variations of desserts displayed at the front, all look delicious and too good to eat.

An instagramable cafe in Emporium. Lovely and nice interior. Love their ice mork chocolate. Scones were pretty good as well. Customer service is very friendly. <br/><br/>Will I be back? Yes!

Cafe Blush is a a gorgeous cafe located in the Emporium shopping centre. The cafe is stunning, with elegant interior decorations, beautifully presented dishes and even pretty cutlery. I was so lucky to be able to try the Cafe Blush High Tea.<br/><br/>The high tea set comes on three small tiers, along with your choice of coffee or tea. We opted for a matcha latte and a sencha with cherry blossom tea. They are well-known for their matcha lattes and I can definitely see why! Plus, the latte art was so cute!<br/><br/>The savouries of the set included tomato sandwiches, charcoal buns with prawn, and frittata. Each component was very small and dainty. The bread of the sandwiches was very thin and soft, which I enjoyed.<br/><br/>The scones, served with cream and jam, were nice but a little bit dense. The dulce de leche cake was, however, delightful and the fragrance of caramel was strong. <br/><br/>Finally, we had the sweets. The yuzu meringue tart was tart and sweet and delicious. The mini chocolate chiffon cake was nice but a little on the dry side. The macaron was very light and airy, and sweet. <br/><br/>Overall, we had a nice high tea experience at Cafe Blush. The only thing is that the portion was quite small. Otherwise, all the elements were very delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

We had the high tea for 2 with tea and a matcha latte.<br/><br/>The interior of the cafe was really nice and it gave a really warm and inviting feel. <br/><br/>The savoury dishes included : Sandwiches, frittatas and a shrimp slider. I thought the flavours were quite nice however I would’ve preferred if the sandwiches were a bit more fresh as it would be a lot nicer if the bread was soft- same goes for the slider buns. Also I think I the frittatas were heated up it would’ve tasted better too.<br/><br/>Sweet dishes : Scones, lemon meringues, sponge cake, brownie, macaroons.<br/>I really liked the scones- nice and fluffy and not too dense. Really enjoyed the macaroons too but everything else was just average. <br/><br/>☺️
@KeraBearEats
Located at the Emporium, @miagoreng and I treated ourselves to an early dinner with cakes, scones and sandwiches. To be honest I tend not to think much of high tea, but truly I didn’t expect to those cakes to be so GOOD!

Such a lovely place with a very. Interior is very girly and cute yet modern. Portions are small for the price. It’s best to come here just for coffee/tea and cake.

The top tea is just terrible. It was costly, 90 dollars for 2 people, and it is just completely not worth the price. It was so small in quantity and so normal in quality. I ordered earl grey tea and it tastes like plain tea bag tea. And tiramisu was a complete disappointment as well. The environment was too loud, and since they tried to fit too little tables in such a small place, it was so crowded. I felt like I was squeezed in between tables.
BevLovesFood
Very pretty ambience, comfortable too where you can sit & chitchat with friends for some time. Drinks & cakes are nicely presented. Love their Rose Opera cake, very moist, you can clearly taste the rose flavour & its not too sweet.

Seafood Squid Ink Pasta <br/><br/>Squid ink pasta can look intimidating at first glance but this black beauty is so damn delicious. Cafe blush was really generous with the amount and variety of seafood. There was prawn, pipis, fish which was so buttery and soft and squid all mixed with rich roma tomato sauce. I highly recommend seafood lovers to order this!
Harmony
Been eyeing this place for a while now and finally had the chance to visit and it definitely did not disappoint!<br/>We had:<br/>- Seafood squid ink pasta<br/>- Chicken katsu sando<br/>- Cafe blush mini platter along<br/>- Beetroot latte <br/>- Matcha latte<br/>It was my first time trying the squid ink pasta and I loved it, the seafood was perfectly cooked too. We ate the sando after the pasta and the katsu was still crispy and not soggy, which surprised us. Also had the cafe blush mini platter which gives you a varieties of their mini desserts and it was a perfect way to end the meal.<br/>Additionally, the staff are very lovely and the interior is so pretty so definitely recommended this venue if you haven’t been!

Such a beautiful little cafe to eat in after a good day of shopping at the emporium. The interior is phenomenal 😍 I ordered the BLT and it tasted amazing 🙌🏻

This is a beautiful cafe located at Emporium (level 2). The interior was so beautiful! We started off with the Matcha Latte and the Beetroot Latte. The barista had created a Snoopy and Charlie Brown coffee art! They were beautifully made and very vibrant in colour.<br/><br/>We ordered the Chicken Katsu Sando and the Seafood Squid Ink Pasta. Both very different but they both had the same quality of goodness. The sando was crispy and well seasoned. The pasta was delicious, my favourite dish so far! The seafood was perfectly cooked and complimented the squid ink pasta very well. It was definitely a very nice surprise!<br/><br/>We finished up with the Cafe Blush dessert platter. All 6 desserts beautifully plated on 1 plate and they were perfect, little bite sized treats. This is great for someone like me who can't decide which dessert to go for! Definitely recommend this place!

Absolutely loved the food. We ordered Mentaiko and Truffle pasta, and they were both delicious. Good mentaiko pasta is hard to come by, so I’m definitely coming back for another plate!

3.7<br/> An aesthetic cafe in Emporium.<br/><br/>The place is really cutely designed, nicely lit and well kept. It's not very spacious though, so the tables are pretty close to each other. When I came recently, service was better, not as hard to call someone up. Last time my tea took forever, but didn't happen this time, but still it's not "fast". Also, I left a shopping bag and called the next two days but they actually kept it, they were amazing.<br/><br/>1st visit:<br/><br/>Chai latte was great. The taste was just right, was smooth and not too sweet. Good size too.<br/><br/>The tea was actually great (something with rose in it i forgot the name sorry). I liked the tea pot and the filter they provided to hold the fresh loose leaves and flower petals (and all other ingredients). It was fragrant but not overempowering and very soothing and calming.<br/><br/>Recent visit:<br/><br/>Their soy betroot latte was such a find. I couldn't really describe its taste but it just suited my taste bud. It was pretty and portion was nice too! Recommended ;)<br/><br/>Also had a taste of their matcha profiteroles and it was really yummy, the mathca cream insdie had a strong matcha flavor. The shell was not crunchy though and was tad bit small.<br/><br/>P.S Only 2 refills for tea!<br/><br/>Overall a cute accessible place to chill, it is bit on the expensive side though.<br/><br/>( follow for more!✨)<br/><br/>xx,joelle.

I went to cafe blush a few months ago and ordered some madeleines and iced green tea, the madeleines were not fresh so i was disappointed but decided to give this place a second chance. This time we got a strawberry parfait and strawberry tart which were delightful and pretty. the tangerine tea didn’t really taste like tangerines though? still, pretty refreshing. Might come back and try their lunch menu.

A decent place to have a quick catch up over tea and coffee with a very nice interior and somewhat quiet atmosphere located in Emporium.<br/><br/>We ordered the high tea set for three people which came with any choice of tea or coffee. The high tea itself was unfortunately a little underwhelming. The savoury part of the tier lacked some flavour and was a little dry. I was mostly keen for the scones however they were quite dense and not fluffy on the inside, not how I would expect a scone to be. It was a little better once packing on the jam and cream. The desserts was pretty decent, I liked the mini chocolate chiffon cake the most.<br/><br/>We also ordered extra mains, the Wagyu sliders (2) and Mentaiko pasta. I quite liked the sliders, the meat was cooked medium rare and the pasta was also nice with the onsen egg topping that dish.<br/><br/>The only highlight I had was the Chai vanilla tea which smelt and tasted amazing. It had a very subtle taste of chai and nothing too sickening.<br/><br/>

All things pretty! Cafe Blush is an ideal place to have high tea with the girls. <br/><br/>We had an ‘in between’ meal here. Seafood squid ink pasta, matcha profiterole and tea. Food was average, but deco and service were great.<br/><br/>Wide range of tea to choose from. Pinky up!

Today my Mum and I were lucky enough to have a High Tea at Blush in the Emporium. This beautifully decorated space had a wonderful serene ambiance, it was a great place to relax and enjoy our lunch.<br/><br/>Initially I was sceptical about the Japanese fusion part of the high tea but boy was I wrong. In my opinion it's the wonderful Japanese twist that makes this high tea shine. Especially the spicy prawn slider in the black bun, it was magnificent, the chilli mayo was deliciously good, I could have eaten a whole plate. The pretty tiers also contained, dainty cheese, tomato and cucumber sandwiches, mini quiche bites with a smoky bacon filling, a lovely mini layered sponge dessert, mini lemon meringue tarts (great pucker & fabulous Italian meringue topping) and scones jam and cream. Apart from the Prawn slider, the other sensational standout today (which I saved until last) was the black sesame macaron. I wasn't sure what to expect, this macaron was slightly not too sweet, a tad more savoury and oh that black sesame flavour, it was really really really good. (I could have also eaten a plate of these). <br/><br/>To accompany the high tea you can have champagne but today we just stuck to tea and coffee, I was spoilt with real tea leaves in a tea pot, just lovely and decadent and the skinny latte was enjoyed as well. What a great venue in the hustle and bustle of the city.<br/>KD

Blush<br/>The cafe looks pretty.<br/>Fruit tart 6<br/>A little bit too sweet for me. It was crunchy.<br/>Rose Opera 7<br/>Looks amazing, and taste good. A little sour but most sweet.

Still feeling peckish after lunch in the city we decided to give this place a go. I’m glad we did, as the coffee and cake was the perfect end to our city visit. Really like the fit out and service was cheerful but still needs time to establish.

Cafe Blush, really fancy at sight but shy at taste. I was always fascinated by the sight of this cafe at Emporium whenever I would pass by it. Hence one of the days I finally decided to give it a go. <br/><br/>I ordered a Japanese Curry Katsu Pasta and curly fries. The food wasn’t what I was expecting and was just alright. The Japanese take on the pasta was not a very good option and tasted more like ramen without the soup. The fries were too oily and seemed double fried. I think the cafe can really improve it’s food quality for the price they charge.<br/><br/>Next visit - Not sure<br/>

It was a family day out and whilst shopping, mumsy and daddy bear got a touch thirsty, thirsty for some caffeine. Luckily we were shopping in Emporium and a cute little cafe named Cafe Blush caught our eye. Cafe Blush is a Japanese inspired cafe and mumsy bear thought it was the cutest cafe ever. We were greeted by friendly staff who showed us to our table immediately.

This is a great cafe to chill and relax with friends and have some lunch, tea and desserts - the interior is very pretty. I was seated by a waitress who, in my opinion, looked like she didn’t want to serve me. She was sulky and didn’t offer me any water. When she came back to take my order (3 mins after she handed me the menu) she just came up to me and stared at me. I told her I was waiting for a friend to come before we ordered and she just rolled her eyes and walked off. We ordered the matcha latte, katsu spaghettini and the bacon and egg salad. The matcha latte came with pretty latte art and was thick and had a strong matcha taste. Thumbs up. The katsu spaghettini was delicious - the katsu was fried perfectly and was crunchy on the outside and moist and tender on the inside. The pasta was cooked slightly more well-done than al dente, however, that’s the way I like it. The salad was huge and packed with ingredients. It was a good salad but I thought it perhaps could be presented better. All in all a good experience save for the sulky waitress.

Nice place to have a really relaxing lunch and high teas. Tried the seafood squid ink pasta and the dessert also cherry blossom tea. Love them.

4 stars purely for the ambience, level of service, coffee & cake. I have yet to try an actual meal. Still, a cute environment thanks to the light-pastel coloured theme and the numerous plants around the space. This is a really nice place where you can just relax with friends or a loved one (given that it’s in a shopping centre). Next time I come back, I’ll be trying something from the tea selection as it seems quite popular amongst the diners!

We waited 14 minutes before asking a waitress if we needed to order at the counter or if someone will come to our table. We were told that someone would come to take our order.<br/><br/>We got up and left after 20 minutes after no one came to take our order. Blush cafe wasn't that busy.<br/><br/>Rating out of 5 (5 being the highest and score based on 4 types of criteria. We did not get to order food so we can't provide a fair rating on the food):<br/><br/>Food – N/A<br/>Ambience – 3<br/>Presentation – 4 (based in what other people ordered)<br/>Service – 0<br/>Environment – 3.5<br/>

Pasta dishes were quite standard and filling enough. A group of us had the Mentaiko pasta, truffle mushroom pasta and the creamy chicken and zucchini pasta. Mentaiko could have been fresher(?). Among the 3 dishes, the creamy chicken and zucchini pasta was the tastiest. Curly fries stood out more.

Super cute place and a lovely place for tea!<br/><br/>We ordered the Earl Grey and their carrot cake! Their carrot cake was pretty good, not mindblowing but not bad either! <br/><br/>Their Earl Grey was pretty simple and the aesthetics of the tea items were really lovely. <br/><br/>The service here was pretty decent. The location is prime as its in central so if you’re ever looking for tea in Central and you’re willing to spend abit, Blush is for you!

I’ve not been here frequently because of their customer service. Some of staff is not friendly. I know that the Cafe Blush and Calia are same organization in Emporium. There are different styles of service provision between 2 places that’s why the waiting staff is also different as well. <br/>As the name of this places, Cafe Blush is strength about high tea, drink by western style and waiting staff comes from western as well. besides that they have also served meals. In my opinion, the meal was not delicious and matching with their pricing. However the cake and drink were attractive and the pricing was reasonable.<br/>The ambiance was so beautiful which good for catching up friends here. <br/>Things that i dont like here is customer service with Asian and foods. I dont give them bad feedback but they need to improve their customer service in treat everyone as the same way. The reason why i prefer to visit the Calia frequently because their customer service and food were excellent. Hopefully, they can manage and training customer service for staff same as 2 places. I rated Calia 5* but Sorry Blush 3* for you. <br/>

At first I was really excited to try Cafe Blush because I love Calia so much. However, this place offers less options in their menu range. Tried some of the pasta, were not that good tho. Never come back since then honestly, but would recommend the high tea and sliced cakes.

This cafe is just so gorgeous! Such a beautiful environment to enjoy such pretty and cute dishes! This cafe is in a great central location in the middle of the Emporium in the Melbourne CBD. Head to Blush if you love all things pretty, cute, and delicious!

Rating: 4<br/>I came to this cute aesthetic brunch spot with my friend for some cute pictures. This place felt like a fancy picnic which had roses on the walls and bright lighting, good for a cute catch up. <br/><br/>Friendly staff seated us with everything set out for us. <br/><br/>I ordered the wagyu beef sliders which was amazing. Although it was extremely pricey for its small buns, I somehow managed to be very full at the last bite of the two sliders. The teriyaki sauce was explosive and amazing. The salty and umami flavour of the sauce and the juicy wagyu with the sesame seed coated bun, the best combination I have had at a cafe. <br/><br/>My friend ordered the chicken mushroom pasta which I also enjoyed, with carbonara being my favourite pasta sauce. The noodles were soft, but the sauce was good like other Italian pasta restaurants. <br/><br/>Definitely recommend the lattes they make here - very cute designs and are quite tasty, can sometimes lack a bit of flavour (kind of dilute)
Food For Thought
Beautiful place for a catchup with my friend. Who knew italian and japanese flavours can go so well together. I had Mentaiko pasta which was beautifully presented and it was so delicious. My beetroot latte came with a teddy bear design on the foam. Overall a superb place to have lunch at!
Hungry Big Potato Bear
I've tasted most of their pasta dishes and I love it. I particularly love their chicken, mushroom and zucchini pasta. Their scones are also lovely.

Have been to this place several times with my friends and parents because of the mentaiko pasta😍 Though the portion looked small but it was quite full after finishing the whole dish. Really delicious!!! And the service was awesome. Will recommend my friends!
Daisy
The mentaiko pasta was surprising good. I was worried it might be too dry or bland but both of those assumptions turned out to be wrong. I’m a big fan of fusion food and this combination of Japanese and Italian flavours made me really happy. The portion size was fine for me but I’d say that the cafe in general is a little bit on the pricier side.
HildaLuv2Eat
A pinkish girly cafe, lovely place for girls gathering. They have a wide selection of tea, but the cakes and pastries are just average. not bad as a place to sit down and get a afternoon tea after binge-shopping at emporium.

Took mum here because she loves High Tea and it has a very nice curb side appeal. The food is okay, nothing that wins awards but not all that bad. The alcohol selection is very limited. Food and drink 3/5<br/><br/>The best thing about the place is the service though. Although there's this blonde waitress who is off-putting and brisk with customers and rude to the other staff. One of the male waiters there is an absolute superstar. So friendly and helpful, really takes the time to make you feel like you're the only customer he has. Even though he was serving all these other people he made sure you were never forgotten. He can tell you anything you want to know about the menu. His name was Lachlan and 10/10 I'd come back again if he was my waiter. He gives one of the best dine in experiences I've ever had in Melbourne. His service is 5/5 easy.

The pastas here are not only delicious but beautifully presented! <br/><br/>Went here at 12.30pm for lunch with my gf, we were seated quickly. Loved the interior of this place, great venue to catch up with friends.<br/><br/>Food: <br/>We ordered the squid ink pasta, it was delicious. It wasn’t heavy compared to other pasta dishes, I enjoyed this.<br/>The truffle pasta was not available so we got the tamago pasta instead, it was divine. Exactly what you want during lunch! Very flavourful but light.<br/>Added the side salad for $5 to cut through the pasta to share, it was definitely instagram worthy but we didn’t finish it since we were so full! I enjoyed it so if you’re super hungry I would get it.<br/><br/>Service: Lovely service and waiter was attentive!<br/><br/>Verdict: 4/5 great little venue to enjoy some pastas and catch up with the girls. I would come back to try the truffle pasta! <br/>

Went here for a quick dessert fix and the place looked so beautiful. I think people mostly come for their high tea so I figured i should order their scones. They turned out to be really dry and quite hard on the bottom. The cream and jam were quite good so I could still finish it. My friend ordered the tiramisu which was good and the other one ordered the matcha sphere filled with marshmallow. So its more like a drink, he poured the hot matcha latter over the sphere and let it melted completely. The matcha was too strong, bitter and especially powdery. We both really like matcha and we just didnt enjoy this. I also ordered an iced matcha, it was not as bitter but also powdery. The service was good but I dont see us coming back anytime soon.

Crappy service and bland food. The rose opera cake tasted extremely artificial, had an aroma similar to a bucket of house paint. The parfaits were decent, however the selection of display cakes always seem to be dry and tasteless.

Unfortunately I don’t have any photos to accompany my review. Considering the high ratings I would describe my experience as underwhelming. Whilst the ambiance was nice, I felt the tea was very overpriced! I will also confidently say it was the worst scones I have had in Melbourne. Very disappointing. The scones itself were stale. Would not bother.

I'm a huge fan of Calia so when I heard Calia had a little sister coming, I was crazy excited. First impression is that Cafe Blush is as elegantly decorated as Calia and I adore the setting. Unfortunately, in my opinion, that's the only thing they have in common. We were hoping to try the matcha chocolate sphere experience but they had run out. We got there 45 minutes before closing time and they had also run out of the earl grey creme brulee. The staff were rude to us and kept pressuring us to order and showed irritation when we asked questions. Anywho, we ended up ordering the mini platter, 3 madeleines (pistachio, chocolate and I can't remember the third one), the matcha brownie and matcha lattes. Other than the matcha brownie which was moist and delicious, everything else was average. The madeleines were very dry and tasted stale. The mini cakes were also dry and the parfait had a fairly artificial taste to it. I dragged my friends here and kept praising Calia so it was an even more disappointing experience for us. I feel that our money could have been spent better elsewhere. It's unlikely that I will be back.

We had been seeing Cafe Blush on instagram a few months ago and decided to give it a go! Here’s what we thought of it!<br/><br/>Mentaiko pasta - spaghettini, mentaiko, onsen egg and nori! Who would have thought such a simple combination could taste so good? The flavors worked well together and did not overpower each other. The addition of the onsen egg was a clever idea to add more flavor to it!<br/><br/>Seafood squid ink pasta - squid ink linguine, Roma tomato sauce and seafood mix! This was an interesting combo which I had thoroughly enjoyed due to the freshness of the seafood and how well it went with the squid inked linguine. The tomato sauce was a good base to complement the other elements of the dish hence making it my fave of the day!<br/><br/>We also had the white chocolate brownie which was absolutely sensational! It all crumbled into my mouth beautifully and the sweetness of this had won me over!<br/><br/>Overall, cafe blush has done well however I would have liked a larger portion with each dish given the price. Would visit them again to try their Hamburg pasta and signature blush salad!

I love watching the pastry chefs making the cakes/scones/desserts fresh at the pastry station here. I have been here almost weekly for the past few months and I can say it does not disappoint! My favourite dish here is the creamy mushroom pasta followed by the seafood squid ink pasta. My wife particularly enjoys the high tea here with her friends as it is well priced and the pastry items are made fresh in the store and the scones are always consistently well made.  The carrot cake would have to be the best I have had in Melbourne. It gets very busy on weekends so I advise checking it out on a weekday when you have the chance!

Everything was okay. My Mojito was nice, the creme bruleé tastes good, the shop decoration is really elegant. However, the attitude of a waitress in this cafe is so terrible (I don't know her name but just remember that she has a plump body). When she found out that we will use Liven promotion code to pay the bills, she started to show her cold expression on our table. When we order, she keeps glancing us. One of my friend told me that he accidentally heard her discussion with her other employees. She backbited us about why five of us just order 1 cake. That's so rude because we've already ordered 5 drinks for each of us. We were too full because of the breakfast so we couldn't order too many cakes. I will definitely never come back again, so disappointed!
Expat Gourmand
A few Fridays ago, on my younger sister's usual day off work, she and I had to get some official business done for my mum, and hubby took a few hours off work to look after our girls and nephew so that we could do it quickly. We were grateful that we could get it done kids-free, because we experienced some hiccup and delay, which would have been even more stressful if we had three kids in tow. After that was done, my sister and I headed into the city to reward ourselves with a nice lunch at Cafe Blush, which offers an all-day high tea set. The cafe had pretty interior setting, with blush-coloured walls and hanging potted plants. We both enjoyed the dainty high tea, which my sister found wasn't substantial enough for a satisfying lunch (it is after all meant to be a tea, not a full meal), but delicious nonetheless.

This is a really pretty and relaxing cafe for food, cakes and drinks. I recommend the curly fries and the chocolate chiffon cake. I tried the truffle pasta which was really delicious as well. The matcha experience was pretty cool too, you get a matcha latte and pour it over a white chocolate ball that melts and reveals marshmallows inside. A bit sweet for me but still kind of fun! The place will get busy during peak times so make a reservation beforehand. <br/>

The place and decor are absolutely gorgeous. So beautiful and instagram worthy. I had the iced matcha latte which was nice. It was a bit on the powdery side which I don’t mind. I also had the pumpkin soup. Which was actually really good. It was nice and hearty. Would definitely recommend. However the service...not so great. My Aunty and I ordered 2 soups which the waitress confirmed. She came back with 1 and said sorry it wasn’t clear you wanted 2 which I thought was quite rude.

Very pretty ambience in emporium. The cheesecake is a little too salty for me. Overall experience was ok. Not the best but average. Staff were attentive thats a plus.

Basically no customer service, if it wasn’t for the tea and the pretty aesthetic, it would be 1 star from me. We waited for 20 minutes for our tea to come out. It wasn’t super busy. The waitress wasn’t even giving us any acknowledgement

Situated on Level 2 of Emporium Shopping Centre, Café Blush is a feast for the eyes itself. Pink walls, suspended plants, and rounded furniture instantly establish an ambiance full of character — a lovely place to escape to for a few hours in the afternoon.

Terrible salad. I ordered bacon & egg with Yuzu dressing. I couldn’t finished it which is something I rarely do. I love all types of salads but this one was the worst! It’s like they put lots of vinegar & tons of salt. Too sour & salty! <br/>And one more thing, it took the waiters forever to bring water to my table. I had to actually keep asking. The service doesn’t match with the extravagant interior.
Angela Yang
Been here three times. Pasta and cakes were good. Hot matcha latte was served cold. Service was terrible. Obviously have not enough staffs. They never see your hand waving and have to wait really long to get their attention

I wish I could love cafe blush more 😞. Their mentaiko pasta was nice but their squid linguine was not great. The seafood is not fresh, everything tasted bland, the pasta sauce sucked!<br/><br/>That being said they did mention they will give me a free meal next time I visit so I will report back if it’s better!
Jasmine Wong
My expectations coming in to this was relatively high as it is the sister cafe of Calia. First impressions, the interior was beautiful and would definitely make heads turn. There weren't as many savoury food options as I would have liked and the prices for it were a little steep for the amount given. I ordered the mentaiko pasta and even though I loved it as the flavours were just right and the pasta cooked al dante, I still felt hungry after eating it which is not ideal. The dessert was pretty simple and straightforward, nothing too special about it. I would come back for the ambience but whenever I'm hungry and craving for a satisfying meal, I would rather go up a floor to Calia instead.
Sweet.connoisseur
Nicely decorated environment. However, the order of food was a mess. We got our dessert served before our mains and all our mains came at different times. Additionally, we did not get cutlery until all our food came out. <br/><br/>The food was bland and very average. <br/>Considering how Cafe Blush is a sister store of Calia, I am not sure why the standard is so far apart. Fairly disappointed.<br/><br/>Food: 2.5 <br/>Service: 2<br/>Ambiance: 3.5<br/><br/>Would I recommend Cafe Blush to family and friends? Perhaps only for dessert/ high tea but I don’t think I would be back for the mains.

booked for a table a few days ago. this is a beautiful neat cafe easily located in lvl2 Emporium. We ordered: 2 cafe blush mini platters ($19.90 x2) which came with teas, and ordered 2 pasta dishes, Clam Miso pasta ($21) and something else :-( <br/><br/>The good:<br/>- as said, the cafe interior very beautiful, neat, clean; good for taking photos<br/>- staff seemed friendly <br/>- cakes are designed to detail <br/>- goji berry tea is yummmm<br/><br/>Not so good:<br/>- very expensive even for the high quality, but what do you expect i guess...it is high tea...but was still left hungry<br/>- sandwiches and scones were not beautiful quality - just average<br/><br/>Pretty cute cafe, am satisfied with high tea experience<br/>

A Calia project is just downstairs below Calia at Emporium. I thought their menu would also be japanese inspired. But it’s something different. What we enjoy, is the beetroot latte. It doesn’t sound appealing but they’ve done it to my liking! light beetroot aftertaste, but not losing the milkiness of lattes. I’m not a big fan of beetroot but I enjoyed it so that says something! Not to mention they have carried Calia’s famous latte art to Blush! Bonus.
