I had purchased the Groupon voucher as I love smoothie bowls so I wanted to try them and wow was I surprised at the portion size of it! I got the super green smoothie and was amazed at how much smoothie there was in it as I find that a lot of places don’t actually give you too much smoothie liquid and more toppings instead. What’s even better was the taste of it! So creamy and yummy. Also got some of the vegan treats for the boyfriend but they were too filling and heavy for my liking. Service was really friendly as well. Can’t wait to be back and try the rest of the smoothie bowls!

I stumbled on this while searching for a healthy lunch option and with the word ‘health’ in the venue name I figured it fit the bill. The offerings pretty much consist of frozen yoghurt, raw treats, smoothies or smoothie bowls. Lunch fell into smoothie bowl territory which were all priced at $15. I opted for chocolate peanut butter (because of the peanut butter) which was definitely the least health sounding of the range but baby steps right? I loved the rawnola and dates on top. Will definitely be back for more

I remember when finding something healthy on the go meant you had to choke down a crappy Maccas salad or just pretend you weren’t hungry. But now, you can’t drive through a bigger Melbourne suburb and not be flooded with a choice of health-conscious cafes and restaurants. Now this is a trend I can rally around.

A cute store that's great for unwinding with mellow themed colours and decorations accompanied by friendly staff. The store's offerings is great for a healthy treat with options like delicious fat free and sugar free frozen yoghurt, smoothies, and superfood bowl. We tried all 5 flavours of yoghurt on offer for the day (matcha, chai, original, lime, and chocolate). The textures of the chai, matcha, and lime was like sorbet. The chocolate was thick and very rich with cocoa. We enjoyed the yoghurt and our selection of toppings (coconut, chocolate coated goji berries, passionfruit compote, raw mix, rawnola). The pink passion smoothie was energising; it did took a few sips to get past the original shock of the taste due to the protein powder and mix of berries. We also enjoyed the occasional suprise in most sips as it came with a piece of coconut/goji/bits of berries.

There are two stores one in South Melbourne and the other in Elsternwick. RNIS bought a Groupon for $9 to spend $15 at this place for one visit and the other visit they paid for it themselves. Here not only do they do froyos, the South Melbourne store has salads and other raw and vegan desserts. Plus they use stevia which is a sweetener for those health addicts. They use real fruit and the less sweetened pearls unlike the bubble tea places in the city.

Love their bright and clean interior. The staff was very friendly and helped me out w my selection. I had their frozen yogurt and a smoothie (berry based). Really enjoyed them. Will definitely be back to check out their acai bowl!!

February 8th - today I went in and had the acai bowl with protein again and WOW! Soooo happy with the overflowing massive mug I got! Definitely one of the yummiest in Melbourne!

January 18th "upon returning, I asked if I could please have an acai bowl full, and they delivered! I was super happy with the cooperation to fill the bowl! I did notice however no one was at the counter for much of the time which had other customers pressing the bell a few times. Acai bowl was DELICIOUS"

January 15th "Came here today with a friend to try the smoothie bowls. I had the acai bowl with added protein and peanut butter and my friends had the peanut butter bowl. The bowls were tasty however I was extremely disappointed in the fact that my bowl came only half full and my friends bowl was filled to the brim. When paying the same about (actually extra for the added extras) this was extremely unsatisfying and disappointing. Picture is my half full bowl, the toppings helped make it look a little fuller but my friends bowl literally had smoothie until the brim."

We noticed a new store taking over the former About Yoghurt premises and just like that, Ilya Health bar came into our office lives. We popped in a few times before the end of the year, as I was hooked enough from the first visit. The range of flavours and toppings is a bit more limited than other froyo options, with one of the machines out both times we visited. I had a taste of everything in the end (staff are as friendly with their samples here) and I quite liked the chocolately one. With one Elsternwick store under their belt, I do hope they keep expanding as bit more desserts in life always makes for some healthy competition.

I remember when finding something healthy on the go meant you had to choke down a crappy Maccas salad or just pretend you weren't hungry. But now, you can't drive through a bigger Melbourne suburb and not be flooded with a choice of health-conscious cafes and restaurants. Now this is a trend I can rally around. After a really early morning, no breaky and being on a panel in front of 300 people, I was starving. I nearly caved and got some plastic looking takeaway from the Crown food court, but instead headed over to this place I found on Zomato: Ilya Health Bar at 223 Clarendon St, South Melbourne. The store is really lovely and light, with a good layout and plenty of seating. They had a froyo kit up the back (chai flavour! I swoon!), but with me trying to cut back on sugar I somehow resisted. The chick at the counter seemed to be working along, but I was the only person there so that was fine. She was really lovely, and I ended up choosing the Choc Peanut Butter Bowl, made up of frozen banana, cacao powder, dates & protein powder blended with almond milk and topped with peanut butter, choc muesli & fruit. It didn't take long for the bowl to come out, and as I had asked for it to go (I had to get back to the office) she'd put a little placky lid on it for me. I'll be totally honest; it didn't make it back to the office with me. I ended up getting stuck in traffic and ate the whole thing before I made it to the freeway. You know what? It was the best smoothie bowl I've ever had. Sure, it wasn't the healthiest one on the menu, but oh man it was good. If you're in the area, I highly recommend you pop into Ilya.

I overheard someone mention the acia bowls at the new Ilya health bar while I was at the at the South Melbroune markets, so I went down and got their classic acia bowl. Right up there with the best tasting bowls I've had in Melbourne, not watery like others and super creamy! Hello to my new regular.

Love this place. Always delicious treats but the best thing is they are all sugar free. My fav is the coconut fro yo with the chocolate which is so chocolatety, and some almond slivers on the top. Yum. Also love the peanut butter protein balls are amazing.
