Only restaurant near the b&b we were staying, and owner suggested this place. We ordered the grenedine fish and chips! The fish was very good and the table sized portion of chips were quite a surprise, but also good! Very friendly workers too!

. But you have to be really clear about your order get it reread back to you and cross your fingers....I dont mind do much but my boyfriend flips if he has to take back his order.
He has an allergy to sesame seeds....

These guys are decent, I have some mates who have good experiences. I thought the service was a bit slow, food was a bit bland. But everyone else enjoyed theirs so I'm going to go with combined crowd and personal opinion and go with a solid 3.

Terrible since the change of owners. Wife and and I ordered two grilled flakes and steamed two dim sims.. honestly horrible. I had to peel away the batter from the flake and the dim sims had a weird texture to them.
I wouldn't recommend going back until there are new owners.

Since new owners took over this place has gone down the drain! Food is over cooked fish not fresh and the place is dirty! This used to be an amazing fish n chip shop but now it’s just a waste of space in the area

Always great service and best chips and gravy around. Onion rings to dim sims, fish and crab sticks always cooked perfectly. Staff are friendly and always up for a chat. Always enjoy our meal. Love our local favourite. Check it out.

Unbelievable, they forgot a whole entire calamari ring, and forgot to sprinkle chicken salt! They charged me for the calamari ring which was $1. That is one whole slurpy from maccas.

Quality still very good, but check content in packs is to your liking prior to paying. New management not as generous as previous. Struggle to count 20 chips as part of a burger pack. Previous owners would fill to the brim and almost always added additional potato cakes.

Not sure why this is marked as Broadmeadows when the name of the shop is called Gowanbrae Fish n Chips? Either way, the food is fresh and delicious and definitely very generous. The shop has had a couple of owners since I've been going over the last 10 years however the owners now put a lot of love into the food. From fresh fish, golden chips, burgers, poutine or fish souvlakis, the food is delicious and what makes it better is that I'm just around the corner. Till next time, this is Our Foodie Find!

Best fish & chip place in the world..there hamburgers with the lot are so big, fresh and tasty..the chips were cooked to perfection..<br/>We will defiantly be returning!! Staff were friendly too..GREAT!!

Tradition has come back.... Properly !. It's the old adage.... A Greek in a fish and chip shop.... But these guys bring it to a whole new level. Everything (seriously) is super fresh and made in store. These guys actually, properly care about the fo the goes over the counter, remember to try the meat the serve in their souvlaki, like nothing else in Melbourne.
