Yachiyo is a nice intimate Japanese restaurant with friendly staff. I went there to celebrate Father’s Day with my family and we enjoyed everything we ordered. We had the sashimi selection, miso grilled black cod, grilled salmon & scampi hotpot. For dessert we tried both the Japanese melon mochi and the white chocolate rice puffs & matcha. They have sake tasting as well. Make sure you make a reservation as they get very busy.
A fantastic twist on contemporary Japanese cuisine.
Wonderfully talented Chef and highly knowledgeable and attentive front of house led by the charming Sebastian who eats, sleeps and breaths everything Japan!
An absolute must for those who appreciate good food at great prices!
Very good service and food on price and location. Cleanliness is also good. Waiters are friendly , smiling and attentive. Menu is limited to what they are special at. Produce are fresh and best is that comes as sets. Worth trying.
Excellent lunch. Nan Ban chicken special was great for the kids.
All other dishes first class; tempura, sashimi, teriyaki.
Great value lunch set.
This and Mino, are gems. I'm following the Yachiyo brand across sydney since I first tasted them in Darlinghurst and it never ever disappoints! My favourite, and pretty affordable too. Thank you for maintaining your consistent excellence, really appreciate your excellent japanese cooking!! Arigato gozayamushita!
Came here last night and it was fantastic. Shared some plates - all of them delicious. The three types of "new style" sashimi all have different sauces which is pleasing to see - too often are sauces re-used between multiple dishes, making the food quite repetitive.
The tempura green stuffed with chilis are delicious. We also tried the dynamite roll (very fresh), aburi sushi and the wagyu gyoza. I would get them all again.
Not cheap, but standard for this quality japanese in the area.
The specials are written on the restaurant walls. One thing I like about this restaurant is that they offer a wide variety of Japanese food. We ordered the Taster Plate of New Style Sashimi, Nasu Dengaku (Eggplant), Popcorn Prawn, Agedashi Tofu, Rainbow Sushi Roll and Chicken Nanban. Presentation: 9/10. Comfortable seats and chilled interior and not noisy at all. Service: 8/10. Service was a bit slow but to be fair there was only one waiter and two chefs. Taste: 10/10. One of the better Japanese restaurants I’ve eaten at in Sydney! Price: 7/10. It is on the pricey side but then again
Very good. Regularly visit this place.
Good friendly staff, good food, reasonable prices
What a find. We tried Jap'n Eat on a visit to Sydney last week and were delighted with the experience. The food was inventive, well presented and fresh. BYO is always an advantage if restaurants do not have the space or knowledge to provide an adequate variety of brands and options. Sake selection was very good and the staff gave us tastings prior to deciding on our preference. Sure the tables are a little close together but that added to the atmosphere. A most enjoyable experience.
Cannot recommend this place more highly! Best Japanese in mosman and entire lower north shore. Fresh, generous and delicious!
