Toro Cafe. An unassuming cafe in Mount Waverly. Frequent by local residence and those that work in the area (just like us!). We stumbled on this cafe when the restaurant we wanted to wasn’t open. We walked into Toro Cafe and boy oh boy it was such a quaint cafe. It was cosy AND the staff were super duper friendly.
Been working in the area for a few months and always walk past this place... and I mean that literally walk straight past and never stop. I never knew why I did, if it was the menu that didn’t interest me or just preferred to stick to the usual place, but one sunny day I decided to try it out!
And I am so glad I did!
I ordered the fried rice with the pork chops and it was wonderfully tasty, presented well and in good time considering how busy they were! Not only that the price was a steal, most other places could easily charge the $18 mark OR more... but they are very reasonably price.
I ordered a coffee also which was nice too, and the loyalty card will keep me coming back as most cafes here don’t give that option
So if you’re looking for a nice place to eat, for a good price in Mount, this is definitely worth stopping by!

Walked pass this bright cafe figured to give it a go. We are happy to discover a hidden gem in the local suburb.
.
I ordered the OMELETTE GPO ($13.5) 🍳 It was well cooked, filled with mushrooms, tomatoes, marinated chicken, shallots, coriander on sourdough. I enjoyed it :)
.
Sis got the EGGS NEMO ($15) 🥚🐠, the sugar cane prawns were pretty interesting, with hollandaise over the smoked salmon, poached eggs and sautéed asparagus. That’s what made it an impressive dish!😋
.
My parents had the SLOW COOKED PULLED PORK BENEDICT ($14.5), I was pretty taken with it. full of flavorIt was flavoursome and combined really well with the hollandaise sauce and the fresh green apple slaw added a little moisture to it. Next time I would probably consider ordering it myself.
.
I would love to come back again as the menu was decently priced, generously sized and service was prompt. Coffee was lovely too ☕️💖
Great ambience with friendly staffs. Highly recommend visiting. Menu is perfect for breakfast and lunch with some special asian twist - serving from burgers to 'heo quay' (caramelized pork belly).
I was looking for a cafe for brunch and stopped when I saw this bright, clean, spacious looking place.
I ordered the P&E (caramelised pork, poached eggs with hollandaise, pear on toast), mocha and a babycino. The dish was beautifully plated. The pork was a little dry but I didn't mind. I would have liked a bit more chocolate in the mocha but it was nice anyhow. I was impressed with the size of the babycino, it was huge!
Service is very friendly. I'll definitely be back to try other things on menu.
No one welcomes you in, and yet there is a welcoming vibe in this cafe. When we visited for brekky, the cafe was full. It seems that there are many regulars, which most likely means that the cafe is good.
We ordered a brekky burger, a chicken Schnitzel burger, a fried egg on toast, coffees and hot chocolate. Burgers were good. To me the fries (chips) tasted better than what you find in MacDonald's.
The staff are nice and quick.
Will be back for other food.
We tried chicken pho, sweet and sour fish and stick spy tofu. While fish and pho were excellent. Tofu was okay. Little on dry side and less seasoning. But the host is warm and helpful. We enjoyed our afternoon here
Ever since i moved here this cafe has been hands down the best I’ve ever been too. Amazing staff and my coffee always tastes fantastic! Almost there every day and they deserve the highest of ratings.
Cheers Toro Cafe :)
Lovely cafe of light brunch or food, so welcoming vibe and beautiful and healthy food.
Super affordable, with two dining out, we both got a main and a drink and it was around 30 AUD. Food is hearty. Fries are fresh and salted to perfection. Pho broth is clear and tasty.
