Will definitely come back again. My father and I came for Sunday lunch, and we both had only a hot and sour soup, which was delicious. The restaurant was busy and noisy, and it was clear that customers were here because they know the food is great.
We were there only non-Asiatic people there... And to us, that's a good sign! Lots of items on the menu that we want to try.
The only criticism is the cheap, flimsy napkins.
Celebrated my grandfathers birthday here for the first time, and was pleasantly surprised with the food. From the outside, you it is situated just off springvale road, hidden almost. The interior is quite a cosy layout. Food came out pretty fast, and I was very impressed with the roast duck. It was delicious. All the other dishes were also really good !
Located in a small strip of shops between commercial complexes and residential streets, we never would have known about this gem had it not come up in my Zomato stream. We have only eaten here for the first time but will definitely return. We liked the simple decor, friendly service, and short wait time for delicious food. The sweet and sour chicken in batter was perfectly cooked. Our other meals were also delicious and the ingredients were so fresh. We will try more of their seafood dishes on our next visit after seeing what other tables had ordered. Reservations are recommended as it filled up quickly on a Friday night and it’s not very big. We were lucky to get a table because we were planning to leave before the reserving party arrived.
Highly recommended.
The lunch special are great value and quite tasty. I've been here a couple of times now and highly recommend the spicy beef. It's not fancy but it tastes good.
Haven’t been to this place in a long while but it was definitely a staple restaurant for the family dinner.
Always had a sweet spot for the desserts here.
An unusual location in Mulgrave a hidden Chinese Restaurant. The food tastes fresh, is well made and full of flavour. The dishes are responsibly priced. Definitely a stand out among other Chinese restaurants
Hidden away, afar from sight, the traditional and humble, Chopstick Delight. Using traditional methods and recipe, Chopstick Delight focuses on fresh produce and allows each component to shine without over saturating the dish with flavours nor salt. Taking pride in their dishes, the staff explains the stories of each dish when we asked about them. With friendly staff and a wide variety of options, this humble restaurant will continue to delight.
Chopstick Delight is like your typical Chinese restaurants served by lots of Chinese aunties who will assumed you are also Chinese speaking Asian cause you looked like most Asians, but sadly I can only said “bu ke yi jiang hua yi” or Cannot Speak Chinese –. which kind of contradicting I must say.
Came to try chopstick delight for the first time last night with some friends and have to agree with most reviews here - it is a hidden gem. Needs some much needed reno outside - it looks like your average local takeaway joint and only about 10 tables inside BUT the food is really good! Staff could do with a little tweak in attitude - they seemed to be impatient with us when we asked them for recommendations.
We had the pipa duck, sweet n sour pork, sizzling Japanese tofu and stir fried Chinese broccoli with preserved meat and steamed rice. Everything was delish - and being how small the restaurant is I was surprised at the quality of the duck that was served - much better than many other bigger Chinese restaurants out there. They also provided complimentary hot sago as a dessert which was a perfect finish to the night. Overall, for 4 people it cost us $110 - very reasonable for the quality and serving size we received. Will definitely be coming back!
A little hidden gem. Food were excellent, the lobster dish is to die for, that buttery creamy garlic sauce were so great in favor, I can’t stop eating that sauce. And you can also order deep fry bun to dip in and finish off all that sauce. Portion wise - It is quite generous portion with that price tag. Service were great and prompt. However, it is a small place with very limited tables and it can be quite noisy if they are packed. And was told they will be close for 6 weeks holiday in December/ January.
Food is authentic Cantonese flavor, recommend their roasted duck (around $69 each), melon soup and ginger & shallot fish head.
Truffle fried rice not bad, but a bit over-value ($35.8).
PS. Roasted duck and melon soup need call to book at least one day prior to arrival.
A local gem. Only know this restaurant through word-of-mouth. I recommend to book table prior visiting especially on a weekend. One of my favourite dine in restaurants. Recommended dishes: steam fish, duck(pre-order), winter melon soup (pre-order). So far, the dishes we ordered, have never disappointed us. Thumbs up!
Came for dinner tonight to try their whole duck, tofu and kale, winter melon soup, and claypot veggies.
I thought the duck, winter melon soup, and tofu dishes were worth coming back for.
Please note that you have to preorder the duck and winter melon soup
Good food, tasty dishes and fast service
Dishes are a little bit expensive
Highly recommended
This restaurant is located in Mulgrave, in one of the suburbs in Melbourne, not far from Dandenong. From the outside, it looks simple, and ordinary. But once inside, the space is bigger and there are lots of people and tables. For a Chinese restaurant, it had lots of Asian people, which is a good sign. I always look at who is eating and what they are eating when I go to a restaurant eg are there many Japanese in a Japanese restaurant, how many Italians (or who I can hear speaking Italian) in an Italian restaurant, say in Lygon Street Carlton. We had tom yum soup, braised fish, ma po tofu, seasonal vegetables, stir fried mushrooms, sweet and sour pork, eye fillet steak with black pepper sauce, seafood with beancurd and of course served with rice. The food came within a reasonable time, was hot and tasted good. Service was also good and staff, although busy, were attentive and responded to our requests quickly, such as refilling of tea pots with hot water, etc. When we finished our meal, we did not feel pressured to leave (like some other restaurants). Overall, good food coupled with pleasant surrounds, making for a good night out with family and friends. Happy to recommend it and come back.
Chopstick is a place of great food with consistency. Their food has always been amazing. The chilly sauce is just a perfect add on to the food and they provide a great tea as a complementary. You also get to choose a free soft drink during lunch. They have a wide variety of menu to cater for everybody's taste buds and their hospitality is equally amazing. A must visit place!!
