We popped in for an early dinner on Sunday and loved this place!!! The food was so tasty, we couldn't resist ordering more to try out another of the share plates!!! Also you cannot go past the Oreo S'mores - yum yum yum!!!! The service was also fantastic, couldn't fault it. Great bar, definitely worth the visit!
My partner and I had the opportunity to try out Gurdys last night for our date night. It was the best decision! We came in quiet early with the intention of having a few pre-dinner drinks but ended up staying there well into the night. The bar is beautiful with very careful selection of beer, wine and spirits. For a new bar, it was surprisingly very well managed. The bartenders are witty and very skilled and I absolutely love all of my cocktails which were served in these beautiful vintage cut glass. My partner was impressed with their beer choice and especially of their usage of a dimple mug; you don't see them these days! The food was delicious and we highly recommend the steak, antipasto and beef cheeks. Make room for their dessert as the Oreo s'mores was amazing. Bonus for us was the back courtyard and heaters! Overall, for a small bar; it definitely packed a mighty big punch! Love it and will be back for more!
Best happy hour on King St (5-7pm, $6 pints) and they have mulled wine, hot buttered rum, and hot toddys. Great music and top-notch food. Try it yourself.
I liked this place a lot. It was quiet on a Tuesday night which made it easy to talk. I had a lovely Pinot noir and delicious Oreo ice cream sāmores. The decor was kinda blue shabby chic and ambient. Staff were friendly and service was polite and not intrusive. Iād recommend it and not sure why the rating is not higher. Conveniently close to Newtown station too.
nice ambience, quiet, easygoing bartender = chill service and experience for a casual sunday night. candles are a nice touch too. only had a glass of white wine honestly but it was the first one on the list - canāt remember name but it was yum. wouldāve liked some music playing.
Great bar, great food, including The "best burger I think I have ever eaten" Dad Burger. This burger takes it to another level with the addition of a slab of crispy, crumbed cheddar cheese - oh god! For me the clincher was an absolutely perfect, dry gin martini šø
Great cozy establishment. The service we had was attentive and warm. The cocktails were nice although I didn't particularly like the cucumber one. But I expected that.
The food was really tasty but on the small size. For me the brussel sprouts and the black rice were standouts. A little disappointed in the potatoes. It said chimichurri... but not really.
There's things to be said about small plant based portions. And that thing is one less star.
A very cool vegan bar and restaurant. Very nice staff who are down to earth and give great service. The cocktails are delicious and perfect balance. The food is really nice too, I really liked their butternut squash and potatoes. Well spaced out bars and has a warehouse vibe to it. A perfect place to catch up with people. I will be back! Their before 6pm menu is great value and I think I preferred this than the later menu.
Definitely like this place. Great service, and awesome atmosphere both inside and outside. You can hop onto the bar if you want a beer, or just sit outside under the heater if you want some peace and quiet over a long black.
The team got my order wrong but fixed it within, literally, 60 seconds. Very impressive.
I went to Gurdys for a happy hour cocktails with friends and decided to have dinner while we were there. So glad we did and I couldn't help but take some photos as the food taste as good as it looks. For entree we had the Zucchini Flowers with the smoked goats cheese but you can get it with Sun dried tomato and mushroom instead if you like. The Sake cured smoked Salmon was amazing as was the pan fried Scallops. For mains we had BBQ braised Octopus with a chili salsa, Angus Hanger Steak perfectly cooked and the Lamb cutlets with roasted pumpkin. We have been to Gurdys before because the drinks, staff and atmosphere are great but never eaten there. This is a new menu apparently so we will definitely be back to try the other dishes soon.
Popped in here for some late afternoon drinks and loved the cool relaxed vibes and great cocktail list. I can highly recommend The Big Dill!
This place has really become the place to go. If you havenāt been here yet, change that now! The service is incredible and has a fully vegan menu now ā things youād expect from a fine dining establishment but at a reasonable price and in a relaxed and friendly environment.
The cocktail and drinks list is absolutely impeccable with something for everyoneās taste. The bar manager is immensely passionate about her craft and it shows.
I canāt recommend this place highly enough!
