I moved into this area 18 months ago and Hoffman's Road Fish and Chippery is excellent. Service is done with a friendly smile and although there is a wait, especially on Friday night's, it is worth it. I usually have my fish grilled and it is fresh, moist and not oily. The chips were too much for a single person, but lovely and crisp. I now have their potato cakes which are out of this world. Not the soggy cakes that you get in other shops, but crunchy, crisp and not oily. The family are lovely and friendly even when run off their feet. Highly recommend to try!
The best local fish n chip shop in Victoria. Classic fish and chips. A beautiful family run shop and it's great that they remember you for the next time.
Burgers are always on point too, consistency is great, not too pricey and the food is never oil tasting
The potato cakes here are delicious! I think I was unduly hard in my previous review, so I'm updating it. Had it tonight and everything was delicious!
These guys always give me a lot more chips than I can eat. Their fish is usually cooked well too but I'm not sure why a piece of lemon isn't standard.
Best chips in Essendon as the other shops dont compare and friendly service. Will definitely order take away from here again. fish was nice and cooked well.

The special flake has ruined fish and chips for me anywhere else! The succulent juicy fillets get me every time. Chips are generally good but can vary from time to time. Generally recommend this to any of my family or friends looking for good fish n chips!
