Review Sweet Sour Salt - Orange

What a lovely place to dine at on a Friday night after a drive to Orange from Canberra! We had the Chefs menu option. Really good food. Staff were wonderful. Wines were very good. We will return next time we visit Orange

This place is amazing. I nice fresh twist on some asian favourites. Great atmosphere and a great wine list. The waiter looked after the order and we had some standouts. The KingPow chicken and the red duck curry should not be missed.

Food was fine. Music was loud so asked to have it turned down 4 times before it was turned off. I was the berated for asking to have the music turned down even though we were the only people in our area. Waited 45 minutes after finishing our meals for clean up and dessert menus and no offers to get us additional drinks while we waited for dessert. We were then berated for asking a junior member of staff to cancel our dinner order, being told we should have gone to a senior member of staff. however there was no clear way to distinguish between junior and senior staff so how were we to know? Appalled by how we were treated and belittled.

Change of menu and not announced, although the booking was done on the old menu one month ago! Dishes were small and extremely sweet, some of the GF options they have a gluten component which wasn't part of the previous menu. Pork ribs are a desert, not a main. The duck was done too rare (almost raw). Beef was sweet but the singapore noodles are actually good. Staff not knowing the menu. Not coming back again!

Only banquet menu available. I had the menu 2. The food was good. The fish main, had too much sauce and not much fish. The fish was good but the flavor of the sauce dominated over the fish, which needed a lighter flavor. The service started out really well, but drifted off as the staff were concentrating on the table resets and not the last few customers. We were never asked if we wanted more drinks. I expected better service for the price we were paying.

Positives: Great tasting banquet options and the serving sizes are generous. Negatives: table and chairs a little basic and uncomfortable. Staff not observant to the little things such as bringing a water refill. They need to improve their level of service.

Good food as usual here, but badly trained new staff (a lass trying her hardest) resulted in inability to explain local beer & wine list & being totally ignored for ages after our mains plates were removed. Music just got louder when asked for it to be lowered until it was finally turned off in our outside area (elderly father missed all the conversation). Management blamed me for canceling deserts and asking for the bill. The answer to what is the beer on tap like is not “I don’t know.”

Able to get take and was exceptional, the take away menu is limited. Fried rice was by far the best, massive serving and flavoursome overflowing delight. The house kimchi was great, with perfect balance of tangy and spice. The Kung Pao chicken, was tender with just enough kick.

Absolutely beautiful dish!! Had the BBQ skewered chicken and my wife had the pad Thai prawn, Beautiful flavours and wonderful staff and service!!! Highly recommend this place!!!

I have been dreaming of this place.... and it did not disappoint!!! Superb food, Sensational customer service. Highly recommend the pork belly and spiced ice cream. Definitely will be visiting again soon �

Went to this place tonight. Not only was the food 10/10 so was the customer service. Seriously the best food and customer service I have experienced in the last 2 Year’s. You will be seeing a lot more of me that’s for sure.

From the moment I walked in the doors of this establishment and noticed the quirky light shades, I knew this was going to be something different.....and after finishing my meal, with generous size entree (for sharing apparently), my only regret was, why hadn't I come here a couple of years ago! Meals were fresh, spicy and as stated earlier generous in size, which were complimented by excellent and attentive customer service. Sweet Sour Salt, truly a great edition to the already superb food outlets of Orange.

We had the set menu and there wasn’t a dish that I wouldn’t happily gave again! We also added the pad Thai and boy were we glad we did! Look forward to coming back

We had a feast for four at this fantastic restaurant this evening. Food was well prepared with generous servings and real taste. Loved my Jungle Venison curry..it really packed a punch! Service was relaxed and friendly and the new premises are groovy too!
