Review Byng Street Local Store - Orange

Great cafe to enjoy breakfast or lunch. If you are a cheese lover, you have to wait until lunch time to order the cheese souffle. But you will not be disappointed. Will go back again just for the souffle.

If you live in Sydney get up to Orange! Best kept secret around😊. A foodie??....you will go nuts deciding where to start...Byng Street Local Store is an absolute must...awesome food...welcoming service and 10/10 experience!! Sorry gotta go...the Ricotta pancakes...seconds. ...just arrived 🌞

We ordered three dishes from here and they were each fantastic! Wasn't sure if a white bean and jamon bruschetta would be anything special, but it certainly was! The truffle cheese souffle and burger were also just as amazing. According to my burger-loving son, it was one of the best burgers he's ever had.

I think this is amongst one of the greatest cafe dine-in experiences I have ever had. Food - delicious. Atmosphere - thought out beautifully. Pricing - wonderful from a Sydney point of view. Service - impeccable. I came with my husband and baby and there is a change table there too. Not usually a pancake person, but that’s what I should have ordered.

Stayed in Orange this past weekend with a small group of friends. Found this place by accident on Sunday morning. It was so busy, we thought, it must be great. And it was! Beautiful breakfast menu and such a ridiculously reasonable price! I'm no coffee connoisseur, but my friends loved the coffee. I had a breakfast roll - I've never tasted anything like it anywhere before! Everyone was very happy with their breakfast. So much so, we returned this morning (Monday) and enjoyed it all over again. Will definitely be our breakfast place in Orange whenever we visit.

Whilst staying in Orange for the weekend we were on the hunt for a great coffee place. Byng st local store definitely did not disappoint. We had their coffees and cinnamon croissant, both delicious! I highly recommend this place if you are looking for great coffee.

We went here mid afternoon by which time they had run out of freshly made muffins and were running low on their other lines. We did however enjoy slices of carrot cake and hummingbird cake served with really good ice coffee and a traditional chocolate milkshake. The service was friendly and very efficient.

Really nice food but modest serves. Very limited lunch menu. A good beef burger and a pork belly salad bowl - both of which were tasty and we shared. Orange eateries are not cheap eats but the food was good quality

Rang for directions from Civic Theatre. Got a rude and curt response. Having heard good things, we persevered and found the place ourselves. When we got there we seated ourselves at the end of a long, dirty table. My partner went to the counter to ask for menus and was told to ‘sit down’. When nothing eventuated he went back to counter and was told ‘just sit down sir.’ Eventually a waiter came and we asked for a menu to be told ‘we’re not serving food. We are between brunch and lunch.’ It was 11.55. On the website they advertise breakfast, brunch and lunch menus. We walked out and won’t be back. No amount of hipster baristas and contrived boho vibe will get us back. If you can’t serve me OR feed me, why would I bother.

A must visit cafe when visiting Orange. Staff were friendly, and breakfast was good . Did take a little while for our breakfast to come out, and noticed people who ordered after us were getting their food before us. It was even really busy and the restaurant was probably only half full. Other than that, it was a good experience overall .

A huge shout out to the new Brilliant Street Cafe in Bathurst - you don't get customer service (at all) in many places these days, great to see some old fashioned GREAT customer service in this little cafe. It's my new coffee shop of choice and I recommend you try it out 5 stars

We went to dinner at the Byng Street Cafe on Friday night. What a great experience. The food was outstanding and the service was also great. Top effort with the new dinner menu. Highly recommend trying it.

This was a regular place of mine however after today I will never go back. I ordered my coffees. They were extremely rude. I waited a while for my coffee and was essentially grunted at. I had to ask for my coffees, they were not called out. I went to thank them and they turned there back on me. They stuffed up the order and when I asked for the right ones they complained saying it wasn’t there fault. They essentially threw the coffees at us like it was the hardest thing in the world. Extremely rude. I left and they still stuffed up the order. I called to complain and the owner/manager said it was my fault and that I was the one who was rude. He did not care and blamed me. Absolutely disgusting.

Food was excellent, coffee was excellent. it wasn't full but the staff struggled to keep up, took a while to get someone's attention to take an order, apart from that a wonderful lunch and coffee. Friendly staff and atmosphere, will go again. Be patient, its worth the wait. The Cubano sandwich was excellent. The Lamb Tagine, sublime!

After getting our food (20 minutes) I enjoyed it very much but found the serving to be very generous and was only able to eat half of what was plated.... so asked for the remainder to be packaged for me to take away. I was shocked/disappointed and more to find that all that was sitting in the bottom of a brown paper bag!!?? was half my sandwich...... What happened to the salad which is really an essential and integral part of that particular meal? Seems you don't get to enjoy all you pay for....and yes, I was prepared to pay a modest fee to have my food put into a proper take-away container, which is what I expected.... That took the shine off my visit. Will I return? Probably not. Oh...service ? OK. Not terrific but not bad.

Really great to see smiling happy staff at Byng Street Local Store. The service is fantastic. The new winter menu for both lunch and dinner is delicious! Hard to know what to choose!

Had a lovely meal with the girls on Friday night. Although pretty exy for the small size meals. We all enjoyed our meals. The scallops were to die for and the prawn and corn fritters were so good i googled the receipe and made them for dinner Saturday night! Not to mention the chocolate tart . My only problem was not open long enough so didn't get to order the espresso martini my fellow guests had earlier. Will definitely be back, but will book for an earlier sitting.

A large and bright cafe with fast staff on a suburban corner - it really stands out around here. The coffee was very good - hot and creamy, lacked a little body but had a bit of a great syrupy flavour. The Spanish eggs had great flavour in the beans but the chorizo was a little tough - there was a whole sausage of it, so if that had been better, the dish would have been fantastic value, but it was still good value for the country and definitely one of the best cafes that I’ve been to around here.

Coffee was really good here. Very smooth. Food was also good but serving size was on the small side. We had the croquettes dish. Only 2 croquettes, would have liked 3. Also had the half way hipster. Loved the greens on the dish and the chickpeas. Space was very clean and welcoming.

This has always been a favourite, and has been renovated aince I was last here. Busy, great atmosphere. Delicious food. My breakfast was amazing!

This cafe operates the coffee cart at the hospital I’m doing my placement at. Coffee is not cheap ($4 for a small) but they use Allpress beans and make good coffee. I visited the cafe for a weekend lunch. I ordered a latte instead of my usual long black just because there was almond milk available (which is fairly common in Orange, BTW). The coffee was nice and the froth stayed nice and thick until I finished it.

Popped by during weekend stay in Orange for coffee. Coffee was AllExpress Carmelo flavour... Smooth but on the mild side. We didn't eat here but the vibe was comfortable and busy, and the locals seem to like it.

Excellent store, very busy on Sunday morning full of families and couples, and good smattering of cyclists. Coffee was fantastic and a good array of reading material. We enjoyed a juice, coffee and lamington. Service was prompt, attentive and with a smile. Looking forward to returning to try a more substantial menu.

Had lunch two days in a row here. Mainly went to try the Allpress coffee which we hadn't had before and know someone who works for them in Melbourne.

Turned out to be a good find. Soup, sandwiches, salads and coffee all got the tick from us. Good spot obviously enjoyed by the locals.

Over the wait..... Local who has never written a review before on Urbanspoon, but after another 20 minute wait for a pre-made sandwich to be toasted I thought I should share my disappointment. The food is actually generally delicious once it arrives but for myself the waiting isn't worth it. I am unsure why an established and popular venue still has issues with running efficiently. My advice for those wanting to grab a quick sandwich to takeaway is don't. But if you have some time absolutely sit in and enjoy the great atmosphere and food.

Very busy but you can see why. Great coffee, wonderful homemade cakes, breads & pastries and yummy sandwichs!

Why is this place so popular? Underwhelmed despite the crowds and hype. Found the service incredibly slow, only 11:00am...we already finished our coffee before the cakes we ordered came out. Had breakfast here once before, it was OK but nearly $50 for 3 people for nothing too special.

Seriously outstanding coffee. Among the best I've ever tasted. That must be why there's people everywhere at this place day after day. Don't miss it if you're in Orange.

Love this place. Great location, excellent service and food. The use of space makes everything work. Loved the food and the teapots are so cute. Keep up the great work.
