Review Mr Lim - Orange

Pretty busy (even on the sunday of a long weekend), so best to book in advance. I had heard many good things about this place and wasn't disappointed. The servings are pretty big, so it is easy to overorder. We both enjoyed the genmaicha tea (we had a lot of wine during the day and couldn't drink any more). I was looking forward most to the Korean fried chicken, but I found it to be a little too salty and a little too doughy (I'd give it a 3.5/5). The duck breast pancakes were really good, the duck was perfectly cooked and all the trimmings are very fresh. My favourite was the minced pork and green beans, these dishes are both a 5/5 for me. The minced pork has nice textures and a fusion flavour to it. Given the price, quality and ambience, I would come back for another meal here

Was really looking forward to this place, based on recommendations. However, the food was really underwhelming. I don’t think I’ve ever had a “bad” Chinese / Korean meal (perhaps the luck ran out)… this would have to be on the bottom of the list. Service, it was like being at an Aldi checkout. We actually had to ask for the food run to be slowed down - firstly, we didn’t have space on the table and secondly, it felt like we were being rushed to eat. The pressure to chow down your meal was intense.

A Chinese Korean fusion restaurant. The pork bun was delicious, the filling had good flavour and the bun was fluffy. The bossam was nice and I really liked the bean paste. They are usually quite busy so booking is recommended.

Was there last minute for lunch (28/05/2022). Nice fusion style cooking. Presentable to eyes, pleasing to taste. We like it, better than some Michelin claimed food place.

Very popular local restaurant so book ahead to ensure you don't miss out. Modern spacious interior with well spaced tables including the long shared table in the centre for Korean BBQ. The menu is not confusingly long but offers a variety of tasty choices all cooked to perfection by the chefs in the large open kitchen. The staff are friendly and efficient and the wine list gives an opportunity to sample some local drops. Unfortunately the same can't be said for the beer options.

Fabulous food. We ate 25/5. The fried whole snapper Thai style was the best I have ever eaten. We also had dumplings which were fabulous. I highly recommend this restaurant. The staff and chef/owner were very professional and attentive. We’ll be back in orange just to have a meal at Mr Lim,s

I have been to Mr Lim numerous times now but the chicken I had today deserves a review! I had the special of slow cooked sweet and sour chicken breast and just WOW! Apart from the pork buns(which are the best I've ever had) this is the best thing I've ever had from Mr Lim! It needs to be a regular on your menu! The chicken was moist but crisp thanks to the light, fried crumb and the sauce was so perfectly balanced, I wanted to drink the remainder haha Can't wait to come back and fingers crossed eat this delicious meal again. Oh and the service as always, great!

Made a booking for the Sunday night on the Queen's birthday long weekend. The earliest I could get was 8 pm. Menu came quickly but took 10-15 mins to take our order. Asked to place last order because kitchen was closing; we had yet to eat a main dish. Pork buns were cold; asked for them to be reheated. Pancakes for duck were warm; asked for them to be reheated. Given a pork dish we didn't order. Beef dish came without mushrooms. Food was good but the experience wasn't. Staff were mildly sympathetic; said they would not apply the credit card surcharge in lieu. Won't be rushing back there anytime soon.

Compliments to the chefs. Being a chef myself its hard to find a place you enjoy a really good meal at. One of the chefs asked me how everything was which was very good only thing i can say is service was polite and friendly but would be nice to be asked for another drink or dessert.

Fantastic food for a great price! We enjoyed the wagyu beef and sides as the "cook your own" experience. Mr Lims offers incredible food, and a wonderful experience that you will not find anywhere in Sydney. Mr Lims is by far our new "favourite" place to eat in Orange and we have now dined around four or five times in a matter of weeks. Keep up the great work Sammy and crew, we will be back very soon

Unexpected surprise! Happened across Mr Lim last night. The flavours were complex but not busy, the food was fresh - fusion with wild Australian ingredients. Every mouthful was a WOW experience, up there with top Sydney restaurants! Friendly and professional staff. Thank you.

We went for a meal just when the Xmas party's were happening. The restaurant was packed but we received our meals very promptly. The staff did a great job with service as they were run off their feet. The food was amazing, so fresh with incredible flavors. The sweet & sour chicken was to die for. So lucky to have this restaurant in Orange & I can't wait to go back!

Lovely meal at Mr Lim. Food was delicious - especially the pak choi with fresh shitake mushrooms. But, great as the food is, it is the thoughtful service that makes the experience special. Thanks Sammy, for a lovely evening!

Service was terrible, was not told it was BYO only and after ducking across to the Parkview for a bottle of wine at a premium price, was still charged a corkage fee for the privilege of providing and serving my own wine. Set menu, the entree was a joke at less than a mouthful each, we asked for a menu and it was incorrect. Out of the entire 7 courses only 2 were any good and the dessert was disgusting. The first two courses were given very quickly, perhaps because they were so small. Following this the service times fell through and got longer and longer. Following our main the wait was so long that I was sure there would be no dessert - it wasn't worth waiting for and we left after a mouthful. Although we love Mr Sushi King and dine there often, Mr Lim's leaves a lot to be desired and with the combination of terrible service and disappointing food, we wont be going back.

Best meal I have had in Orange for a long time. There was also a fantastic specials menu last Easter at sushi king. A trial for Mr Lim I Understand. A great way to taste a variety of dishes - 7 delicious courses for a very reasonable price. Will be spreading the word! Looking forward to sharing the experience with our sydney friends and trying the Sunday lunch menu.

Food was amazing , fresh and packed with flavour . Service was impeccable , we didn’t have to wait for anything . Serving sizes were perfect , highly recommend and will definitely be back . The resturant itself was full of character , and beautifully set out with lots to look at .

Loved this Fusion experience. Staff were attentive and friendly. Had the 6 course tasting menu and it didn't disappoint. Sam, the chef and owner, came out to chat later in the evening.

We were in a group of 4 and decided to have the $55 7 x course set menu. Great choice as every course was delicious and by the end we were full but not stuffed. It is BYO only, we new that because we called prior so not to be disappointed and at least they have beautiful glasses to go with the lovely wine we brought. Great value for money, great ambience and staff were excellent. Top marks all round, going back tonight
