I have coeliacs disease and Mackies made trustworthy gluten free burgers! Everything gluten free was cooked and prepared separately, including the chips! Pretty rare to find a restaurant or cafe that makes gluten free chips and actually fries them separately from other gluten containing fried foods! This just shows that they actually understand and care about proper GF cooking! The burgers were huge! Very decent size considering we bought the regular size and not the large. Also, a nice touch cutting the pineapple very thin and frying it so it's not a big soggy chunk! My husband said his damper bun was "So good, way better than a normal bun!". The service was great, super friendly and willing to spend time reassuring me about GF :)

Absolutely delish meal here at Mackies. We dined on a Wednesday evening, unfortunately we were the only patrons in the restaurant but it was still pleasant. Partner had a burger with the lot, large size which could easily feed 2 people. I tried the spaghetti carbonara which wasnt traditional but still tasty. We also had the cheesy garlic bread which we wolfed down. The burger buns are sooo soft! We will be back.
The food is beautiful and the service is even better. The best burgers 🍔 I ever had, and I do travel and eat a lot, locally and overseas.

Amazing burger...the bun is super soft (hence it's calles damper burger). The burger also comes in large size, which can easily feed 2 men.

Still amazing burgers after all these years, and just how I remembered them. Burger with the lot was fresh, tasty and well put together, all in a yummy soft damper bun. Absolutely delish!
