Review Bissys Cafe - Orange

This is such a lovely place! We had a very pleasant lunch here. Nice atmosphere. Nice fresh, wholesome food with good variety in the menu. We enjoyed the steak sandwich, croissant and crepe. Nice coffee/ drinks menu. Service was good, staff/owner very friendly and helpful. I especially love the cute outdoor seating, each partitioned by greenery. There is a lovely rustic garden at the back. The cafe also has some merchandise for sale and lovely homemade jams.

So unfortunately Bissy’s Cafe only received two stars after my breakfast brunch the other day. To get started; there is a lack of table service (not uncommon for Orange), not a huge (or exciting) menu to choose from and unremarkable coffee.. Items chosen for breakfast included eggs benedict with bacon and pancakes. The eggs were cooked well but I felt the benedict sauce may have been extracted from a packet. The pancakes reminded me of reheated pikelets... I didn’t check the prices of milkshakes here so I can’t give a rant on those this time (although I feel like I’ve made up for it in other ways). The booth we sat at had a wobbly table due to not being attached to the wall and this gave me the impression the cafe was in need of some TLC. The garden out the back is nice but again requires some love. The owner did come out and say hello which was nice. I don’t like giving poor reviews but am trying to provide honest feedback from my experience. Sorry Bissy’s it’s a no from me. 🙅‍♂️

Friendly people, good food with a good variety to suit everyone. Decent sized servings. They even grow some of there produce on the premises. Plus, they make their own Kombucha and bake their own sour dough bread. There is also outdoor seating in the side garden. They also have some lovely gift items for sale. This place has a lot to offer! The only down side is I find it a little expensive

Food was fine. Only fine. Most concerning was the sense I was ripped off. Prices already high ($19 for burger and chips and $5.20 for a soft drink) but what really irked me was they charged me an extra 50cents to have the drink in the cafe! I questioned them and was told I pay more because I use their bin to dump the drink bottle once I’ve finished it. Throw in the credit card fee and it all seemed a bit over the top. But you know... the food was ok.

Totally love this family run cafe. It’s a ‘permaculture’ cafe so the food served is actually grown on site! Fiona was kind enough to give me a full tour of their amazing setup. All the food here I had was excellent. Great coffee, breakfast and brunch options at good prices. Staff are super friendly and will customise your order if you ask. A must visit if you live in Orange or stop by. I will be back!

0 stars if possible. Normally my go to cafe but I will never come back!! Upon asking for a replacement or refund for my un-edible product I was told by both the manager AND the owner “that’s what you ordered so that’s what you got” in the most undermining, condescending voice I’ve ever heard in hospitality. Owner got in my face and had no interest in customer service whatsoever and stormed away from the table without solving the problem. Left without refund and without a replacement... Very minimal COVID guidelines being followed. Very unimpressed.

Sure I'm a bit biased since I worked as a Workawayer at Paul and Fiona's, but this café is genuine with great food! The natural meeting point is their beautiful garden, a place where I loved to work! Blackberries, rhurbarb, strawberries, kale, spinach, eggplant, tomatoes and fresh eggs- all used in the café grow and creates an awesome, cosy jungle. It's perfect to relax there! The garden is also a permaculture garden with composting (why the plants are growing so well!), animals and rainwater harvesting to mention a few things. A hidden gem in Orange!

Great food! Great coffee! Great staff! Fiona, Paul and staff are an amazing group of people. Our group of friends from the area meet up at Bissys every 2-3 months. We are a diverse group and are always made to feel extremely welcome, comfortable and safe. Fiona and her troops have always gone above and beyond to do whatever they can for us while we are there, like yesterday it was getting a little warm (summer usually does ;-) ) , so without question Fiona grabbed an electric fan for us to circulate the air to cool the area down a little and make things more comfortable. This is only a small example of what Bissys will do to make you feel at home. The food is always exciting and if you want to change something a little more to suit your taste (and if you use your manners like you should do) then it doesn't seem to be a problem to alter it. I know I seem to be rambling on a bit...but I just can't recommend Fiona, Paul and their staff at Bissys enough. Keep up the amazing work guys (Y) P.S. The pancake stack was superb

Don't appreciate being yelled at by the owner because as a customer you're supposed to know the difference between their takeaway menu and the menu which is at the cash register when you order. It was disgraceful!

Had some friends visit last weekend and we came in for breakfast on Sunday morning. It was a wet, cold miserable day but at just after 8 in the morning it was nice and toasty inside. Coffee, which was much needed, was perfect as were our meals. Service was great (staffed obliged by taking a pic of us)and it was the best way to spend a couple of hours over breakfast and coffee. Definitely would go again and no hesitation in recommending. Wasn't my first time there and certainly won't be my last!

A quick and delicious lunch at Bissys Cafe in Orange. Chicken, avocado and salad sandwich and Roast beef with roast veggies, along with two small coffees came to $23. Great place, lovely people. We'll be going back.

Waited 45 minutes for a "warm" chocolate for my 4 yo. Had to chase it up twice only to be ignored by all 5 staff behind counter including owner then finally given a scalding hot drink . Not impressed, won't return.

An awesome place to have great food, and an amazing garden coming together out in the alfresco area! Definitely worth the visit!
