Review Noodle Forum - Perth

Hospitality Insider
Nice hand made noodles with different types of soup based toppings and sides. Overly satisfied and pretty tasty.

Entering the Equus Retail Arcade, you will see a small noodle restaurant called Noodle Forum. Don't be fooled by its size. The noodles are made fresh on-site. The flavours are surprisingly tasty and you can choose from three different types of noodles to go with your main. There's something for everyone here. I tried the vegetarian (mushroom) noodles, and they had a rich mushroom flavour. The fried mushrooms were the next best thing to popcorn chicken! The value for money is pretty good too. Give this place a try!

No one (in Perth) even gets close to the texture and flavour of the noodles or the amazing laksa served here. I can’t speak highly enough of this eatery. Constant and DISTINCTLY DELICIOUS!

After walk passed their busy tiny restaurant a few times, I decided to try it today. I ordered chicken egg noodle (the other recommendations are laksa and braised pork noodle) and I LOVE IT SO MUCH! The chicken was crispy, with spicy mayonnaise and other toppings were just perfect. I also really enjoy my small egg noodle. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Definitely will return to try different noodles there.

I always enjoy my meal here. Me n my best friend’s go to place! The staff is super friendly and the food is always excellent.

Found this place by accident today and very happy we did! We had the bbq pork with dry noodles and bbq pork buns which was delicious plus not expensive. I will be eating there again when lm in the city.

They make their own noodles and is very springy with good texture. The sauce in the noodles is delicious. I order satay sauce over fried chicken fillet which is freshly fried with lots of crispiness. The chicken is well marinade and I guess they fried the chicken in lard and veg oil combination cos I can taste the lard on the crisp. The satay sauce is so yummy and definitely not from the bottle. Service is friendly and food is efficiently served. Really enjoyed this.

Fresh noodles everytime generous servings size

The Supreme laksa was great, all the right flavours, the depth and spiciness, and machine made noodles from the restaurant/eatery. Service was great and courteous. The lady can converse in Mandarin, Cantonese and English. They cared about the produce and service they provided, and very attentive without being intrusive. This is a great little place to have some nice noodles, in Perth. They have other varieties but I haven't tried.

With most things there are always some negatives, for the sake of improvements.
For soupy dishes, I like a big bowl, half filled with produce, which NF got it down to perfection. The only negative is...soupy dishes need more stock, so the dish stays hot. Whilst this could be a waste of good stock as the stock never gets finished...but that is how it should be done.

I will definitely return.

Went here for tea after a huge day on the pints and needed a nice easy tea and found it here ordered the wonton soup which was awesome plenty of flavour and noodles the only downside was drinking out of a bowl cause they don’t have disposable cups to share a bottle coke hence why no 5 stars and they don’t sell beers #drunklife

My favourite go-to noodle place in the cbd! The BEST noodles ever and the crispy chicken fillet is my favourite and the BBQ pork noodles is good too. The staff is super friendly too

This is one of the few restaurants that serve mee pok. It is just a simple dish but so much to love, the texture of the noodle, the marinated minced pork and fried dumpling skin. However the portion wasnt enough for me so I ordered a side of dumpling and it was rather dissapointing.

Delightful experience :)
Good food (I ordered BBQ pork and others ordered Laksa with spinach noodles etc).
Comfortable setting , although you might have to wait in queue given the mismatch of the number of people and the seating place.
Service - very courteous and helpful staff
Will definitely go again!
I’ve been some Noodle Forum branches, but the CBD one is the best.
The old man was making noodles here before, and I enjoyed looking it.
They recently started to sell more sides, I strongly recommend to have eggplant one. It’s cheap, nice flavour, and soft, melt in your mouth. I can eat a large bowl of rice only with this.

Hi! I see many photos here and as an potographer I can say that they're so nice, but if you wanna find a lot of amazing photos, you should go on fixthephoto.com. There are my photos, so I hope you'll enjoy. XOXO

Went there with a friend. As soon as we finished eating (literally 30 seconds after my last mouth of food), the wait staff came over and cleared our plates. She then came back with a smile and said 'Hi can we have the table, we have people waiting'. I have been going to Noodle Forum pretty frequently. This will be the last time I step in there as a customer should NEVER be asked to leave. Service used to be pretty good but unfortunately when businesses become successful, they forget how to treat customers. Horrible experience especially since I had not since my friend for ages and wanted to have a good lunch and conversation time.
Diner Olive
Not enough meat in the noodles. The food was too oily and salty and we walked away feeling very unhealthy, which would be okay if the noodles were tasty, but they were not.
Truth Be Told Australia
Was hanging for a good broth with some fresh noodles to start my weekend! Dissatisfied as the Broth lacked flavour , noodles were average too. I did notice a fair bit of the ingredients were pre done in vacuum packages, maybe for faster service? But in needs more flavour!! Crispy fried wontons did not have enough filling in them , however the sauce that accompanied them was very yum. Service was fast & friendly, but not worth returning for really !
Casey
I ordered the laksa with egg noodle. The laksa flavour was not that great for me. I didn't like the flavour, tasted not very authentic. There was also residue bits from the soup paste.
Thefoodchaser
Really enjoyed a good bowl of laksa noodle soup, dried wanton noodles or beef brisket noodles here. The mee pok noodles can be abit inconsistent at times. It will be great if they can slightly reduce the proportion of the noodles for a more balanced flavour.
Caturday
I come here regularly. Mee pok is well cooked, noodles have a lovely texture to them. Do yourself a favour and ask for some sambal chilli (akin to shacha sauce) - it's not spicy at all and adds a punchy umami flavour to the dish. A side of the crispy wantons is also recommended. Beef with spicy XO and crispy chicken noodles are good too. Laksa is a bit meh.
Jenjenjenjen
I have a lingering cold so felt like something warming and spicy - the Laksa Supreme certainly did the trick. Creamy coconutty spicy seafood goodness. Service was very quick and friendly.

Delicious noodle!

Crispy chicken and the bbq pork noodle are the famous one here.

Love the vegetarian noodle aswell with the pumpkin soup! :))

Great and warm service too! Fast service!
C
The best thing about Noodle Forum is that they make their own noodles and they don't add MSG. I tried their satay crispy chicken fillet. The noodles were cooked well, however I thought the noodles were a bit dry and bland and needed more sauce. The chicken was ok and satay sauce was tasty. The serving size was big and very filling. Overall a good place to stop by for lunch.
Samantha Licata
these guys are consistently good, always fresh noodles. Very quick to come out of kitchen. they only have a few options but they do all of them very well. workers there are always smiley.
Cranky Crow
Love the fried chicken noodles! The service is very friendly and the food is consistently good. I have never had a bad meal here. My go-to restaurant in the CBD.
StillDiscoveringFood
A busy lunch spot and after a good few minutes deciding I ordered the Wantons with soup for $11.90. It's great to know that the fresh noodles are made in house. The wanton noodles came with a heap of fresh springy noodles and overall the noodles themselves were a highlight. The only downside I have was the soup broth tasting plain which needed seasoning.

I do however love the side chillies. The chili oil had a good amount to shrimp paste which went really well with the noodles. Also the green chillies was pickled really well. I personally don't think neither are considered too hot to eat. I highly recommended that you ask for both chillies if you want to try them. They are also free.

Overall I will be back! NF was busy at lunchtime but there was a high turn over so you will be able to get a seat (you may struggle if you are in a large group).
Nicholas Lim
Nice and small restaurant, Food serving speed fast. The spicy mayo sauces on crispy chicken noodle can be separate in case you don't want to mix it.
Kudokun
A DOZEN of mouth-watering choices of noodle where you can also subs the base with either egg, mee pok, spinach or rice noodle. A lot of decent choices including: satay crispy chicken, fish fillet, bbq pork, and the mee pok. Portion is relatively big for the price $12-$14 (depending on your selection). Very ideal for lunch when you feel like eating noodle. I love the décor and the cozy set-up they have too.

Downside was the rather long waiting time – especially during lunch hour – which is not really ideal if you are after something quick during busy office hour. The place is already small and limited in seating, you would think they would serve faster for quicker turnover. There was also a slight issue with consistency on the crispy chicken as sometimes it could be juicy and tasty, but one out of three times it could be very dry and hard to munch. Also, I was disappointed with the minimal homemade spicy mayo they gave and when I asked for just a bit more, I was charged 30cents. I know 30 cents ain’t much, but still.

Nonetheless, they were all minor things that I’m sure they could and would improve on. After all, at the very essence: their noodle is good!!
Alexa
Good quality, tasty food for a small price. Would recommend the premium BBQ pork noodles which are tasty and filling. We've also had the satay chicken noodles and the gado gado salad side dish which were both really good as well. They gave us complimentary spicy sambal and chilli which was a plus.
The food came out super quick and the staff were friendly and helpful.
I'd definitely give this a go if you need a cheap, quick and delicious comfort food kind of meal. I will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.
Ieat2much
Ordered the tofu special and the braised beef in xo sauce...it's was pretty good...lovely flavours good portion and good price...ate it all by myself and I was pushing it as I was getting pretty full!!would definitely recommend and would definitely be back!

Me and my mum came to this place for lunch today. It's nicely placed outside the busy section of Murray St Mall where the vibe is more calm and quiet.

As we came in, the place was already packed but there was still room to accommodate the both of us. Even though the place is small, there is still plenty of room to sit inside. Given it was a weekend, the place was packed but not as full like I imagined.

Now onto the food. Me and my mum ordered the crispy satay chicken fillet and Malaysian Spicy Chicken respectively. Also looking at the new specials menu they had to offer, I ordered the fried eggplant as a side.

Both dishes tasted delicious. The satay crispy chicken fillet was absolutely wonderful. Chicken was succulent and crispy. It was excellently complimented with the satay sauce. Also the main hero of the dish which was the noodles was cooked to perfection. At times it was hard to cut the noodles while eating it, but I enjoyed every bite of it and I didn't mind the struggle of eating it. My mum loved her dish. I also tasted a bit of it. Succulent and soft chicken as well as potatoes melting in your mouth.

The fried eggplant tasted divine as well. I'm normally not a big fan of eating eggplant but the way they cooked this was amazing. Soft, puffy and the soy sauce fusion inside it tasted amazing.

Lastly, the presentation of these dishes were top notch. The black bowls they serve it in looks great. Great selection of bowl choice, also chopsticks, forks and tissues are available at our disposal. Even though the place is small, small accompaniments like tissues, forks and chopsticks is right in front of us. Furthermore the staff are a bunch of lovely girls and are super helpful. They check on you to make sure everything is upto standard and they welcome constructive feedback. They are always there for you.

The cost is very reasonable for this place as seen in the menu. It costed me $34 in total. The portion size will satisfy your stomach and you won't be disappointed. So me and my mum definitely enjoyed this noodle place. We will definitely come back again and try something different next time.

A little hidden gem down the shiny corridor of a mall beyond the normal stretch of the city's Hay and Murray streets where quite a few new places have cropped up. It's a great spot for lunch if you work nearby. The service is friendly and quick. It is a bit of a squash inside and you need to balance yourself on high stools to eat but once seated it's pretty comfortable. The portions are generous though a little on the saltier side (and you have to buy water as there's no tap water) but each bowl I've tried has been quite tasty and fresh tasting. I like the tofu included in the laksa as they just absorb the coconutty and spicy flavours in the bowl. The roast pork probably tastes a little more on the homemade side and this dish is a little drier. Generally they are more on the comfort food side of things. You can tell that the noodles are housemade as they are fresh and springy and you can occasionally see the guy making them in the display window which is fun.
InMyFaceHole
I grabbed a bowl of noodles after I smelt something amazing at the Inglewood night markets. The staff at the stand were really friendly and for just $9 I got a decent serving of noodles. The chicken was a little light on but the flavours... Wow. The satay sauce was unbelievable. Definitely give it a go!!!!

This place is great if are a noodle lover and would like to have a speedy lunch in Perth city. Bbq pork and fried dumplings are really good!
Cathy
Happened to walk past the restaurant, saw the chef making noodle and decided to have lunch here with my sister. Needless to say we were both pleasantly surprised by the noodle, really enjoyed my laksa though my sister thought the soup of her wonton noodle tasted a little bland.
Leejames
Service is friendly and food is quite substantial. Went with my 3 girls and girlfriend, noodle soup each with 3 entrees, cheap for $60 but not the kind of food I will come back for the second time. But good enough if u are in a rush and just wanna fill up ur tummy
Davenbee
Great for quick lunch. Very fast and friendly service. Best noodle in town. Crispy chicken and bbq pork taste awesome. Will definitely come back again.
FineDiners
I had the Mee Pok and it was ok. Good for a quick, convenient lunch during work if you're close by. Serving size could be a little more, the bowl itself was big though. Friendly staff and efficient service.

I've been craving a hot noodle soup all week and I finally got my fix at Noodle Forum! I had the wonton soup and my friend had the beef with XO sauce (which I tried too). Both were delicious, the wontons are super flavoursome and the broth isn't overly salty. Next time I order it I'll up the ante with a side of chilli. Service was spot on - friendly and fast.
Love Eating Out
YUM! My friend and I tried this place for lunch after seeing the great reviews. First of all - the service was outstanding! The lady who served us was so helpful and when we told her we had not been before, she explained the whole menu to us. I had the beef with XO sauce and my friend had the vegetable noodles. Both were delicious. We ordered chillies on the side which the staff were happy to organise. The staff checked on us twice to see if we were happy. The decor and benches are comfy and the atmosphere was very nice. Will definitely be returning for lunch.

When I finished work today I was as exhausted as I was happy as much as I was hungry so I decided to stop for some noodles on the way home. I’ve heard good things about the Noodle Forum so I decided to pay it a visit. They do not have a huge menu which isn’t necessarily a bad thing because if the food is good why do you need a lot of choice, right?
Jen
Have been meaning to try this place out for a while but have just never made it down there. Came just after the lunch rush on a Friday. The bbq pork belly noodles and the wonton were delicious! Will be back for sure!
Hippo309
Wow! The premium bbq pork noodles (dry) were good! It's not salty, and tasted just right. The bbq pork was not too sweet as well. The spicy mayo that came with the crispy dumpling was yummy and went well with the dumplings. Would definitely come back again!
Sophley
I am a huge fan of this place and seeing as its located conveniently down the road from my work I have quickly become a regular. The staff are super friendly and were more than happy to explain the menu to me on my first visit which ensured I would be quick to return. So far I have tried the wontons, crispy chicken and pork belly noodles and I must say the crispy chicken was a stand out with its spicy Japanese mayo. I love how the noodle forum uses house made ingredients to ensure the dishes are always fresh and I will say my wonton noodle soup today was no different. I will continue to return again and again.
LittleGirlBigFood
Noodle Forum is an ace place. If you are lucky you will see the chef make his noodles in the traditional way where he bounces around on a pole. Hard to explain - sounds suss, but it is very interesting to watch!. I went there one lunch time with a friend. The restaurant is small and is comprised of long communal benches. You order at the counter.
Felicity Young
So good! Great customer service, didn't have to wait long and the food was yummy and affordable :) will definitely be back! Ordered the chicken and shiitake mushroom, highly recommend.
Jellyphine
Popped by for a quick dinner fix of some noodles. Service was quick and friendly and it thankfully wasn't crowded for a friday evening. Noodles were cooked perfectly al dente and the chicken was fried to crisp. Only thing was the dish was very dry and I was wishing for some water to be served as well!
Eye.co
A bit of disappointment because I was really excited about this place...
Noodle was very dry & hard to eat. And my wanton soup had no flavor.
But the staff who served us was really friendly & lovely.
It just wasn't for me, sorry :(

Always busy at work lunch hour and I understand why. Still one of the better "home made" noodle restaurants in Perth. Although it also comes with a premium price tag - but that's city dining. Crispy chicken cutlets with chilli Mayo dressing on noodles with soy base - always my go to dish here. Their fried wanton skin is a nice garnish. Their latest item on the menu is crispy fish cutlets with airline dressing and noodles in prawn oil base. This I've been told is delicious and itself sounds tasty!
Prince
Had this " Premium BBQ Pork Noodles" at their Carousel stall. One word to describe- terrible.

This tiny portion of noodle costs $13.90 which is never filling but overpriced. The noodle tasted normal and dry, the BBQ pork were very dry too, nothing special in particular. I could have cooked better than that at home! Not recommended!
Asian's Taste
This is the place if you want to have a quick lunch and yummy noodle..
like those noodle even though a bit oily. I Can't resist to have some more. definitely come back again
Izzy Alyce
Cannot fault a thing with mine or my partners dish. This place was a pleasant surprise, the noodles were delicious and full of flavour, the food was fresh and tasty and we were so happy we decided to come here. So much better than any other 'food court' type place in the city. Great prices and came out quickly with nice staff, we will definitely be back! ☺️ #goodfoodofperth

The Curry Laksa here is always really good! My colleague and I always order the same dish when we come here. We brought another colleague along and he had the BBQ Pork noodle which he thought was great too! A nice little shop selling freshly made noodles!
SimonSays
Very friendly service during the lunch time rush. Easy to choose menu made being a first timer a breeze. The food was super tasty and fresh. Will be back to sample the other delights on the menu
Kermit
This place was full tonight. Good for a quick meal. It's all about turning tables, and the decor reflects this. Very basic fitting and lighting. Had to wait outside for 10 minute before getting seated. Not too long. Service was about another 10-15 minutes before we got our food. Not a good as I've had before. You had the option of getting soup of the side if you didn't want dried noodles, which you don't get now. I would love more veges than the 3 little cuts of bak choy. Staff are polite, they thank the customer before you leave. Which is a nice gesture,
Jonathan Kwan
Excellent noodles. The price was fair for the serving size. However what happened to the quality.

The shop had gone down hill. Won't post photos as there are plenty already. Wantons no filling and so small but the noodle portions are the same, cuts of meat are no longer as nice (did they change the supply)??? Certainly does not taste organic and hormone free for the chicken

It's a let down. Chef Wong's noodles are great but don't compromise quality over business savings!! Nao next door is full and we prefer to pay the extra few dollars for extra meat or double noodles.

DONT SIT ON THE SUCCESS AND PREVIOUS GOOD REP or you will fall behind ...the food is still good but not the wow factor it once was. Just average now.
Ze Meddler
Aside from the theatricality of the old dude jumping on the stick and the fact that when I walked past I saw him let customers do it (which brings up issues of hygene); the noddles are downright delicious. Most options come with noodles, the soups provided are decent. Value for money wins overall. Good eats!

Noodle Forum is at the eastern end of Hay Street in the CBD and every day of the week, including weekends, it is packed with patrons. It's easy to see why when they have a range of delicious noodle dishes made fresh daily - you can even see them making the noodles through the kitchen window!. At just $11.90 they have something to suit every taste bud. My favourites are the crispy chicken noodles, the wanton soup and the diced pork noodle. All made so amazingly tasty because everything is so fresh - seriously, don't take my word for it.
ChelseyT
Amazing fresh noodles. It's fun to watch them work the dough with the bamboo stick. Quite a crowd sometimes just watches the dough processing.
Ph.D!
Hands down best noodle in Perth!!! I like the dry version of their noodles a lot better than the soup. Their soup is a bit bland for my taste.
Cindy Estrada
Little boxed resto with huge servings of a range of tasty noodles all at $11.90 each. What's so promising is that their noodles are freshly made everyday ensuring quality and authentic noodles that are bamboo kneaded. We had their signature wanton noodle, diced pork noodle, beef brisket noodle, signature wantons in soup ($5.50) and deep fried dumplings which were all very flavorsome and not dry at all. Would definitely come back to try their vegetarian spinach noodles!

First time today during lunch. It was packed but turnover for tables are pretty quick. I think maybe due to the table settings. Not a place to stay around after food for small chats.

Small sized but seating are neatly organized. Tight corner for order takings. But while ordering, from the clear glass and from outside, you can see the chefs preparing the dough for the noodles. They have this long bamboo to mix the dough. That is to make sure the dough is evenly mixed.

Tables and chairs are neatly organized but can be a little cramp to get in and out after dining when crowded. Brilliant idea on little hooks beneath the tables where you can hang your bags or haversacks.

Ordered their signature wanton noodles. Choice of dry or soup noodles so went with dry noodles. Comes with soup with the wantons in them. Pretty yummy soup. And the noodles were yummy too. I enjoyed the seasoned noodles. The wantons were small but quite a few given. The wanton skins were cooked perfectly. Skin was not soggy or overly thick.

Also tried their dry mee pok. Sadly it comes only with minced pork, 2 thin slices of fish cakes and 2 pieces of deep fried wanton skin. The wanton skin was crispy. But I felt if the noodles come along with more fish balls or fish cakes - it would be better. Because the minced pork was very saturated given it is minced - so after a while I was not able to find any thing to add texture to the noodles. More ingredients would have added an alternative texture to avoid one from being bored just eating noodles and noodles throughout.

Did not come with soup. So I asked the waitress and she was nice to say she can give me a bowl of soup at no extra charge. Good service ! As the soup was good to help wash down the noodles.

Forgot to take pics of the fried dumplings. Which I gobbled up quickly. Hot and crispy. Tasted Fresh! Very yummy as well.

Will definitely go back there again. Do try. Worth going I reckon.

**went back to try their laksa, crispy chicken noodles and fried wantons again.**

i love this place.
have been multiple times, but have only ever ordered 2 dishes. the crispy chicken....and the satay crispy chicken +
have tried the laksa (as its the only thing my wife ever orders from here).
Have not tasted noodles this good from all my travels around asia!
The noodles are just out of this world. Fresh and using a "lost art" of noodle preparation.

Have spoken to the owner and chef on multiple occasions and they are friendly and always make time for a conversation...you can tell that they are passionate about their food, business and service.

lovely staff and prompt service always.
Angel Sentosa
The wonton noodle is quite nice. Such a perfect meal for winter! My friend tried the crispy chicken noodle and she said the chicken was nice but she doesn't like the noodle texture.
Sweetney.htn
I like how the showroom is next to the store for showing noodle making process. The tenderness of the noodle just reminds me of home. In a personal prespective of being in hong kongers. Tbh, the noodle is less alkaline than the noodle I tasted in Hong Kong. Also, the prawn in the wonton is crunchy. I cound day day eat this ho ho mei ge wonton noodle #kongish

Was lovely experience to see the noodles being made and even better know how fresh would of liked rice noodle options but shall go again. It's cramped for space so arrive early or late is better,
Delishmonster
Noodle forum is fantastic - very busy on a work day but go on a saturday and you'll walk right in before 12. Love the crispy chicken and the satay, the laksa is also great. One day the man who makes the noodles came out for a chat - he explained the way he makes the noodles and how it is very unique. Brilliant lunch spot. Wish they were open Sunday too!

Food and portions are good, can be rather cramp when dining in during peak lunch or dinner hour. Recommended dish: Crispy Chicken Noodle and the XO Beef Noodle.

With the skill and experience that Chef Erich has, it was always his dream to open his own noodle restaurant. Especially one where he will be able to show people the ancient art of making noodle. It's interactive too, people can have a go jumping up and down making noodles. Chef Erich also shared about his life since he was little until he managed to make it in Perth.

I like how they sell uncooked home made noodles and wanton skin! Another thing that I like is their take-away packaging that can be easily carried around. The packaging also has a slot of fork and chopstick.
Eatwithhendri
Laksa broth and noodle was cooked to perfection. Noodle texture was nice and not soggy. My vegetarian spinach noodle tasted awesome too. But i wish the size could be a bit bigger. I went for zambrero's burritos straight frm Noodle forum haha

If you don't mind eating elbow to elbow with the people next to you and listening to 8 different conversations going on at the same time, this place serves decent asian noodles. The Chinese man jumping on a stick making the noodles was surely an attraction just passing by this shop. The menu is concise, pretty much everything is $11.90. The signature noodles didn't blow me away unfortunately. I've had a lot better on my travels in Asia. The girls were quick to serve and also quick to clear. It was barely 5 seconds from my last mouthful that all the bowls and plates in front of me were taken away.
Hungryhenry
Best noodles in Perth I have had so far. Very filling and good choice of toppings. Quick sand friendly service. They also do take out noodles to cook at home.
Brett Princen
Damn good! Prompt efficient friendly service 👍 Food came quickly even though it was packed out with people ordering take-away. This did not impact the quality of the food. It is very tasty and will happily come back here again, next time with friends! Also the place has good atmosphere. Good tunes played at a decent volume and everything looked clean 😁
Sam Shaw
The fact they make the noodles on premise and it can be viewed by everyone is amazing! Have only been once so far but experienced good service with amazing food.
El
Quick, fresh, good quality, good value, nice vibe, loved it! And hands down to the chef making the noodles the old fashioned way, we watched for a while and he gave us a wave, can't beat that kind of uniqueness!
JayGee
The owners are friendly and will happily help you decide on your choice of noodles based on your culinary preferences. Everything's fresh, and great value. You can also buy the uncooked noodles to try your hand at Asian cooking!
Annie
Yummiest Noodle in Perth!!!. The noodles was fantastic, fresh made on site and you are able to watch this process through a glass panel.
I love their noodle also staff very friendly and fast service.
Piok
Tasty. Good wholesome noodles. Laksa is one of the best in town. If it was $9.90 (psychological barrier), I'd eat there twice a week.

Crispy chicken noodle best!. Pretty good crispy chicken noodle.

Stumbled upon this gem. We just happened upon this little gem.
We watched Mr Wong make the noodles from scratch. Fresh hand made traditional noodles. He's a master at it. Amazing to watch him at his art.
Service was so friendly & prompt. Food was delicious. I had the crispy chicken fillet noodles & hubby had the Signature wonton noodle. When we left the Chef's even smiled & said thank you & goodbye.
We will definitely be back guys.

A little overhyped. I think that the handmade noodles are great, ingredients seem nice and fresh. Wasnt a huge fan of the satay and usually i loooove satay. Always a line but service is quick. Would recommend.

Great bowl food. Delicious! I had the vegetarian noodle dish and im pretty sure my omnivore friend had food envy! She really enjoyed her laksa dish aswell though :-)
FatCat
Not bowled over. Been wanting to try this place for ages and while I liked the feel of the place and the service was efficient and friendly, the food just didn't knock me out. Wantons and bbq pork were very good, but although the noodles had good texture they lacked flavour and the broth on both soups lacked depth. Pleasant enough overall but lacking the wow factor that I had expected from the rave reviews.
Olivia Dashwood
BEST NOODLES EVER!!!. Everything on this menu is delicious! My mouth is watering already just thinking about it!!!
Love it love it love it!! and you can easily share a bowl between 2 people so great value for money (even without sharing it is great value for money because it is so damn delicious!) - the wontons are yummy too!
I've even bought the noodles to have at home, they are delicious, super super easy (dunk them in boiling water for 30seconds - what could be easier!) and much better value than the crap packet ones you get in the supermarket! You get three balls of noodles for $4 - the staff say it will feed 3 but trust me it will go to 5 or 6 people with no problem - I have my husband to attest to the fact that half a ball of noodles is plenty for one serve :).
Can't rave about this place enough :D

I had lunch here today and it was absolutely delicious!! The BBQ pork noodles were fantastic. Can't wait to go back :)

Good But Not As Good As Expected And There's Better In Perth. The moment I heard that there was a new hand made noodle bar in Perth, my taste buds lit up and I immediately started to salivate. With my father hailing from Singapore, the joys of food was instilled in me from an early age and I have fond memories of learning all the heritage and traditions of a nation and culture which is food cwazyyy! Eating good food is a national pastime in Singapore and almost everyone is a food aficionado and connoisseur and Singapore with its vast array of cultures all in a melting pot of a veritable epicurean heaven. Just ask a local and he'll be able to rant off a long list of the best places in town.

My Dad and I have a weekly tradition of heading out somewhere for a good feed and a catch up and after hearing all the good reports, Noodle Forum was the target. After jagging parking just a quick walk up the road from the restaurant, we ambled down, walking past a very busy Japanese restaurant on the way, on passing Dad and I simultaneously gestured that we should check it out on one of our catch ups.

My stomach started to rumble with the ever growing aromas of Asia in the air and people eating in with their hands in an Indonesian restaurant along the same stretch. I could see people congregating up ahead and as is a sign of any good hawker or restaurant in Singapore there was a line. It's quite strange in that in parts of Asia, you'll have people pushing in to jostle for a position in line. Whether it be to jump on the train or at the supermarket, it's a common annoyance not so much in Singapore but funnily they won't ever do that whilst lining up for food. In Singapore with how especially passionate they are with food, I'm not sure you'd want to test their reputably kind nature, by jumping the queue to the line for their favourite dish.

We'd stood at what seemed the end of the line and was surprised to see the chef crafting the noodles by hand in the front foyer window. You see this occasionally in parts of Asia and it can be a hallmark of a good restaurant but I just didn't expect to see such a sight in the middle of Perth. It was great to witness the care and pride that the gentleman took in his craftsmanship and my attention was so drawn to him, I'd actually mistaken the crowd of people viewing his artistry as the end of the line and missed an opportunity to get a seat 5 minutes earlier. Rookie mistake, I know!

So I placed my name with the lady allocating seats and took a menu to browse through. By now I was starving and Dad and I pretty much knew what we wanted prior to arrival but it was interesting to see some of the other different dishes on offer. It wasn't too long before we were at the front of the line as they turn over the tables quite quickly. We ordered our food and were promptly ushered to our seats.

Dad and I chatted away for a bit and I loved the open kitchen theme and how you could see an extension of the noodle making artistry and transition of skills into the kitchen, that reminded us of some of the haunts of Asia and of Dad's home. Dad and I were chatting away reminiscing about a my first time from memory of one of the dishes on order. It struck me that perhaps it wasn't actually my first time eating Char Siu Mee but one of the most memorable, in a moment you'll understand why. It was probably one of my first adventures eating chilli as well, which just so happens to be my main vice and even bordering on an addiction, as it's pretty much a constant feature in all my meals. Whether it be as a side or an essential part of the dish, I can't help but get my chilli fix with almost every meal and for me, the hotter the better.

Anywayyy.. I digress.. With my first experience with Char Siu Mee, as I was tucking into my noodles, being a kid I was slurping away, just as I did with Mum's spaghetti bolognese at home but as I was slurping and drawing the noodle playfully into my mouth, the noodle flicked up like a whip and so with it a droplet of the sauce mix, potent with hot chilli sambal oil, penetrated my eye. As a kid of six years old, I started screaming as the heat was so intense and unbearable. Needless to say, I was once bitten and twice shy with chilli for some time but my love has been rejuvenated and funnily enough it was with this same dish a couple of years later on our next journey to Singapore, such is the allure of having that perfect chilli sambal with this dish.

Dad and I laughed about my unfortunate "ow my chilli in the eye" moment and another, perhaps the most painful experience in my life. I won't go into it too much but I'm sure your imagination could run wild with the effects of mixing chilli and another veryyy sensitive spot on the body. :P It wasn't even 10 minutes after first seating and as we chuckled away that the lady presented us with our food. The first dish to arrive was the Char Siu Mee, that I forgot to take a photo of I was so hungry and not long after was the Mee Pok and crispy Won Ton dumplings. As always, I asked for a further serving of sambal to satiate my addiction and the lady grabbed us both a small dish of sambal to sample without hesitation.

Without further ado we both dived in and shared half a bowl of each with another. As with both of these dishes it's tradition to mix the noodles up with the sauce that lays underneath to coat every noodle with a good lathering of sauce. The first bite of noodles from the Mee Pok confirmed for me there was indeed a good reason for the line out the front and how packed it was inside. The noodles were perfect, a 10/10 for flavour and texture. The noodles were al dente, crafted and cooked to perfection and with the fish cake, fat bean sprouts, fresh and deep fried shallots that juxtaposed the tenderness of the noodles with every bite.

Unfortunately I wasn't overly impressed with the flavour of the minced meat. Don't get me wrong it was good but it didn't taste as authentic as what I'm used to and I can only surmise that perhaps it was toned down for Aussie tastes. It wasn't all that temperature hot either, which isn't a drama for me but it's something that Dad is extremely fussy about. The flavour of the sambal wasn't as up to scratch with not only my own family recipe but with other fare available in Perth. Along with the noodles, there should be a symbiotic relationship between the noodles and harmony with the sauce and the sambal, shallot oil or pork fat and black vinegar should all blend to make something really magical.

I think that the cripsy Won Ton skins as a garnish with the meal, although perhaps be a part of the chef's signature, actually detracted from the dish. I think the skins as with those with the Won Tons themselves would be served better in a soup as they didn't capture my attention. Although the filling was yummy, I thought the skins didn't do justice to the Won Ton and the sauce was ordinary to say the least, next time I'll get the soup. I did however love the presentation of the Won Tons served in a basket.

It was time to swap bowls and have a shot at one of my all time favourites. Char Siu Mee. Sometimes you'll see it on the menu as a slightly different spelling Char Siew Mee or even Won Ton Mee. You have to be careful though in that sometimes Won Ton Mee doesn't actually come with the Char Siu pork itself, only Won Tons. One thing that surprised me is that usually when I get Char Siu Mee in other establishments, you get a small bowl of Won Ton soup as a side dish to dine on at your leisure. This was noticeably missing and a flawed judgement in my opinion.

The noodles again were excellent and some of the best textured noodles that have ever graced my lips and a true testament to the chef's craftsmanship and quality control. Every bite was a textural sensation and I felt myself chewing ever so slowly to extract every bit of joy from each and every noodle. Again the sauce let it down as the sambal doesn't reflect the true ingenuity in the noodle creation nor does the Char Siu pork. I found it moist and the flavour was reasonably good but I'm fond of when the coating of sauce caramelises and you get these intense pockets of flavour burst in your mouth as do the tiny bits of crunchy, crispy, deep fried pork lard and shallots that are also found in any good Mee Pok. When Dad and I replicate this dish at home, we put more than our fair share of the crackle in as the contrasts between the al dente noodles, the texture of the bean sprouts and the sublime exasperation of the pork lard is an absolute manna and can assist in building an aura about the place or reputation in making the whole dish truly a sensation.

Overall I was really happy with the entire experience and would happily recommend it to others. Despite its misgivings the meals were really good and it would rate up there with some of the better places to sample both Char Siu Mee and Mee Pok. The service was excellent and as we finished our meal, the lady that served us enquired as to whether we enjoyed it and that we did. It was a little pricey for what it was but I guess it's in the city centre and they'd have an exorbitant rent to fork out every month. I think though that the standard for Char Siu Mee in Perth is at Singapore Hawkers restaurant in Collins Street, Willetton. I wouldn't be surprised if they source the noodles from that same gentleman at the Noodle Forum. They're great but perhaps not as fresh and quite the same texture but when this place is on point, their Won Ton Mee Dry with Chilli as they call it would rival those in Singapore. The Char Siu usually has little crunchy bits on the Char Siu and the sauce has the best flavour over here. They can skimp on the cripsy pork lard occasionally but they serve it with a side bowl of Won Tons. Just make sure you get an extra order of sambal to mix through. The Loh Bak is also good there, as is the crispy squid tentacles. They can occasionally have a little too much batter but usually they're fantastic.

All the best!

Wow. Now I know why people line up at lunch for this place. Perfect noodles.
Ordered the Satay Chicken. Good quality ingredients and the best satay sauce I've had in a while. Not to mention those perfect noodles.

Nice noodles. Love their noodles, simply delicious

I'm obsessed. Love it!

Great noodles, cosy restaurant. The lunch crowd gets a bit hectic, so I would recommend eating in if you can get there later (they're open till 5). Otherwise the takeaway containers are solid and will survive the journey. Ordered the fried chicken cutlet noodles (everything is $11.90) - the noodles had a good bite since they're hand-made with the bamboo pole; and the sauce coating the noodles were just right. Highly recommend having noodles here! I'll be back to try out the other combinations.

Lovely place, food, staff. I really enjoy coming to noodle forum - somehow I always manage to escape the busier hours whenever I am there so that's a plus. It is a nice spot to chat and eat with friends, and the waitresses are so lovely - one of them eventually became my friend.
I have tried the mee pok and char siew noodles and they certainly don't disappoint!

Have tried both takeaway and dine-in, and I'll tell you guys something - always better to dine-in! Also, do grab their sambal chilli. Sambal chilli makes the world go round.

Amazing Noodles. Best noodles in Perth. Chicken broth was amazing. Will be back.

Next Level Eats
Next Level Noodles. We out here.. After having a little trouble finding the restaurant we were greeted by a short little line and a nice staff member who quickly got us seated. The restaurant set out as a "quick dine in" place reminiscent of most fast asian food joints in the city. The quick ordering and serving made me very happy although seating was a little cramped.

Onto the food. Presentation of the noodles was A+ and the little homemade baby spinach cracker was on point. The chef notified us that the produce used was 95% Australian grown which is always a good thing. I chowed down on my tender chicken noodles while Aaron and Ryan had the crispy chicken noodle (kind of a karaage style chicken strips). I also ordered Wonton soup which was refreshing. I would say that the serving was a little on the small side, the bowls in comparison were huge.

All up if you're around the city or work in the city Noodle Forum is a great place to bring your work crew for lunch. Quick and easy and you may even get a little rundown and demonstration of how the noodles are made by the resident Chef.

Would eat again! NLEats

Awesome. Tasty fresh food with super friendly and efficient staff

All dishes are made with 95% WA local produce and all meats are free range.
Food is sooo good and you can buy noodles to take home to cook! Great idea! Chef who makes the noodles is more than happy to chat with you about how the noodles are may and the produce and dishes.
Will be back here weekly!

Seriously Damn 'Shiok'. How the f**k did I miss this place for the 9 months that they've been open? it wasnt until I saw the massive bamboo pole whilst commuting to work that a storm erupted in my brain and told me that these people take their noodles seriously. anyone who has seen this method of kneading noodles is a dying art; and that alone is as compelling a reason enough to try it out.
The noodles had great texture and bounce, and it is only when served in a hot soup that the true flavours of the noodles are exposed, instead of being masked by a sauce.
I had the bbq pork noodles with a bowl of soup to the side and although I entered this restaurant originally fighting off my craving to have my usual Friday lunch at Jun, the craving was soon forgotten as I took a mouthful of the finished product.
seriously, give this place a try for a no fuss meal. Just order, sit down, and eat.
Terrine De Lapin
This place is way too popular because the good is so good. To the owners - can you please take over the empty shop next door?

Really Tasty. Really like this place, it all tastes very fresh and good quality.

The broth in all of the soup/ wet dishes is proper quality homemade stock/ broth. Not the salty type that is full of preservatives and all sorts of other artificial flavouring that you get at other places. The laksa was very tasty, and had good heat and flavour. The 'signature wanton noodle' was delicious, you can actually taste good chunks of prawn in them.

The restaurant seemed very efficient, and have a takeaway service as well where they box your order up in easy to carry boxes, this is handy if you work in city and don’t have time to dine in.

You can also buy fresh noodles to take home and cook.

Will definitely make this a regular week lunch place.

Really like it! This is the hidden gem in perth! Best noodle that I have so far after 6 years in perth!

FIVE STARS: BEST NOODLES IN THE WORLD!. FIVE STARS: I went to the Noodle Forum over the weekend with 3 friends. I HAD THE BEST NOODLES EVER! Despite a 5 minute wait (TOTALLY worth it as we got to see how the noodles were being made from outside!) from the moment we walked in we were looked after by super friendly staff, our food came really fast – and it not only looked 5 Stars but all the dishes were DELICIOUS! (Check out the BBQ pork noodles I had!) I haven’t stopped thinking about the food since, and just cant wait to go back! I can’t recommend this place high enough!! Watch out Perth, you will get hooked on to these amazing noodles!!
Kathy
Crispy Chicken Noodle. Spicy mayo on the side with complimentary soup. Most of the sauce for the noodles is on the bottom so top noodles may be dry.
Joanne Lim
Nice noodles!. Love the noodles. Although a bit ex compared to Singapore hawkers but it was worth it. Location wise being in the city deterred me from driving there just to eat noodles. However ill always cook up some excuses and have lunch there. Only downside was the seating. Not baby/kids friendly, no high chair and no space for pram. Would rather they have proper chairs than bar stools. Guess they are targeted more for city workers. But overall nice place for some great noodles!
V
Love the noodles but not sure about the other flavours. I'm in two minds about this place. The noodles are amazing but I went with a group of colleagues and shared about 4 dry-style noodles and they all had the same flavours in them - none of them had a distinct different flavour. Portions are slightly on the smaller side.
Hardrockcafe
Very expensive! Small portions! Nothing special! Just for the sake of saying you've been tried their noodles.

Speedy Noodles near Murray St Mall. Noodles in 5 mins with wonton s for $12. Crispy dumplings for $6. Sparkling water &3. Fast food near Murray St mall. See the noodles hand made and noodles cooked in the open kitchen. Fast fun & tasty Asian food. Good for office lunch or shopping.

Love this place. Ordered laksa at this place with no expectation as I did not expect it to be the specialty item (compared to the norm wanton noodles etc) and wow! The laksa soup is delicious, one of the best I've tasted and although I did not expect the noodles to go with the soup, it does. Partner ordered the crispy chicken noodle and from what I managed to snatch from him the chicken was great too, also requested some soup to go with it, turns out that its complimentary! Winner. Service is great too, friendly staff, although seating might be a bit cramped, but the handbag hooks under the table is a cute idea too :)
Hungry Hamster
The Hungry Hippo and I had lunch here last Saturday. Noodle forum is hidden down a little alleyway in the Equus building. Good thing I saw the long line of people waiting and was nosy enough to go find out why ! We had the wanton noodles, mee pok and fried wantons. Service was friendly and organized despite being very busy. The chef making the noodles also took the time to explain his craft to us. The mee pok is good and they have got the chilli spot on. Wantons were nice and the soup clear but simple. I think I would prefer the dry wanton noodles drenched in chilli sauce. We will be back to try the laksa noodles !
Rhee Bee
Handmade noodles!. I love this place. Fresh ingredients and all the best meat sources.
Noodles can be seen being made by hand.
I have eaten here 10 times and never been disappointed.
Evonne
Lunch regular. Fresh noodles, lovely staff! Had a nice chat with the boss when it was quiet once - great storyteller and funny guy!
AngMohAsian
Bit pricey. But it's taste factor is solid.. Could be a little less pricey. I think it's about 25% more expensive then it should be. I was simply whelmed, but not overwhelmed.
Joe
Too expensive for the serving size. Taste is so so, nothing special that makes us want to rave about.
We just think that the serve is pretty small considering the price for each bowl is around $12.

Went there twice and tried the braised beef, laksa, mince pork and mee pok noodle. i think noodle in kitchen inn tastes better.
Angelsentosa
It was a hit and miss experience for me. Service is amazing! The waitress is so friendly and very attentive. However the food itself is average. I ordered the signature wonton noodle soup. The wonton is so tasty and the homemade noodle taste great but the broth is quite bland.

I would probably come back and try the dry noodle next time!

My favourite little noodle shop in Australia. Chef Will Gunn
Pris
Wow!! Absolutely brilliant in concept, taste and quality. Noodles are great and authentic, lovely service and that glass front displaying skills of the chef making his noodles is genius. Utilising only WA products (fresh, free range) is something worth noting too! Only approx 10 people in the world now make wantan noodles with this traditional method.
Kung Fu Kuma
Fantastic noodle shop!. Tried this place out today and had the bbq pork noodles. Was totally awesome and delicious. The staff here are really friendly and they use no MSG in any of their cooking as well as free range pork and chicken. They also use all WA ingredients. Everyone should try eating here and support this business! I can't wait to go back and try some of the other dishes.

Top food. This is the kind of place where you can get great food fast...it's healthy, leaves no greasy, heavy feeling in your stomach and the menu is so no-nonsense that there are few decisions to make. The food is absolutely delicious! I've been back 3 times in the past week and taken another person each time. This is one eating place that could be replicated throughout Perth and all those concerned with healthy eating-out would be oh so happy!
James
Had the crispy chicken noodles, BBQ pork noodles and the beef noodles on 2 separate occasions. Love the firm bite to the handmade noodles. Beef was yummy, but pedestrian. The BBQ pork however, was amazing. I think the chicken might have not been freshly fried coz it was a bit tough but it was tasty nonetheless and I'd order it again for sure. Finally, great customer service! It just makes dining there such a pleasant experience. This is an eatery I'll be returning to again and again.
Garagemahal
Best wanton noodle soup in Perth. Sensational.
Karisma
Great noodles. Delicious noodles. The best I have tried for a long time. Had the wonton soup noodles. The prawn dumplings were fresh and the soup/broth was made to perfection. And to know that the ingredients are organic with no MSG is a big plus for me. Im definately going backnext time Im in the area.
Michelle Jarvis
Noodle Heaven. Have been wanting to try since it opened as I love this style of noodles. Service was lovely and genuine, they really wanted to help and see if we liked our food. Like the booths for single-person dining. Wantons were fresh and yummy, my pork noodles and my partner's crispy chicken was all delicious. Can't wait to go back!!

Fantastic. Dined here Christmas Eve after seeking out a new noodle place and seeing the high reviews here on Urbanspoon.

Greeted by friendly staff and the chef made sure to catch our eye to welcome us into the restaurant. Made us feel like we were in Singapore with the modern and clean decor. High tables, convenient hooks underneath for your bag and ultra friendly service.

They offer approx. 9 noodle options so we decided on the laksa and the wonton noodles. Pay at the counter and noodles are served up in no time at all.

The laksa was delicious. Full of flavour and a generous serve of noodles. Greens, tofu and prawns are on top and all have a great taste. Very very happy with the soup on offer here, not like some watery options I've had elsewhere.

The wonton noodles are just as good. A light broth but still full of flavour. We were most impressed with the wontons; full of pork and prawn and really fresh and soft. It was a good combination of the two meals as they were so different in taste.

After finishing our meal, we were fare welled by staff and again the 'Noodle Master' in the back room working his magic waved us off.

This place is great and hopefully the word continues to spread about how good it is. It would be nice for a new restaurant to have lots of success when it's so well deserved.
EatingPerth
Yum!. Absolutely delicious! Ingredients are organic, noodles fresh and HANDMADE, no yucky msg and fantastic service. My favorite is the laksa.. yumyumyum!
LSC
Good .... One of the better noodle joints in Perth. Ease off a touch on the salt otherwise very good in all other aspects.
Phatty
Really yummy, but my mouth is always dry for some time after.... Is MSG used?
Jackpot
Best Wanton Mee in Perth. Simply the best and most authentic wanton noodle in Perth. The wanton is the HK style, and the broth was superb.....not those MSG laden soup that you usually find elsewhere. The place was rather small with bench and stools lined up. It is probably not the most comfortable place to sit around and chat, especially during peak hours. It is more a place to get a quick feed and go.
Enjoy :)
Wt82
Me and my friend had ordered a laksa and the mee pok noodle. We love the noodle but the mee pok noodle is abit too salty and the portion is abit too small for the boy.
T_clark_
Really really good. All about the noodles, cooked to perfection. firm to the tooth & so much flavour. ingredients are all locally sourced which is friggin awesome. had the beef which was tasted so fresh, spices were alive.
great decor, open kitchen & the bamboo kneaded noodle room is incredible. this place really makes you feel welcome & I really like being able to connect with where the food comes from. go!
K_nni
Tasty!. I had the crispy chicken fillet noodles - very tasty and I really liked the "al dente-ness" of the noodles and knowing it's made fresh on the premises daily (you can see the guy pounding and cutting the noodles from the window). Fast and friendly service, cool and modern decor. Luckily I managed to beat the rush at about 12:15pm, as I noticed the growing queue as I left =P
Ken
Best noodle. The laksa wonton and mee pok are the best. Order a BBQ Pork Noodle with extra noodle cost extra $3, too expensive and the noodle doesn't look extra with $3. The owner should consider of this.
Em.N
I needed to try this place out as my coworkers couldn't stop raving about it. Loved the customer service and the freshly handmade noodles. I had the signature won ton noodles and my partner had the laksa. Both were really good! I wish there were some chili flakes or oil to add to the won ton noodles though. I would also like to see a range of different sizes too! 9/10
Louis Hiew
The noodle so actually hand made, you can really tell the difference with a good hand made noodle
Alvin The Chipmunk
Handmade noodles, no added MSG, Cantonese staff and clientele, friendly staff. What can say more!

Great food!!!

Laksa and fried chicken were great!!!! Best dry noodle in town.
Leo
6 of us went and here are comments:
Laksa soup too sweet/mee pok very nice/spinach noodles very nice/soup base too sweet/not value for $ as not filling.
Carol B
Best noodles ever!!! Try the spinach noodles and def the wontons!!
RedDawn
Best dry noodles in Perth. This is definitely by far the best dry style noodles in Perth. Others were either too salty or the noodles just didn't make it. This had it all just about right. Mee Pok was my favourite and I will be a much happier customer if they offer an option to have it extra spicy. Nevertheless, that doesn't stop me from going back on a regular basis. Thumbs up!
Doug
Place to go for the best noodles in Perth. Crispy Chicken Fillet Noodle and Signature Wonton Noodle were awesome. Place has a really fun vibe and service was great.
Kittyandbunnyadventures
We were excited to try out Noodle Forum once we heard they were made using a now less common traditional Chinese technique! They’re Guangzhou-style noodles called 竹升面 (zhú shēng miàn), literally “bamboo pole noodles”. A person sits on a thick bamboo pole, bouncing it up and down like a lever to knead the noodle dough...
Theperthfectlife
The restaurant prides itself on the unique ‘bite’ of the noodle and the technique by which it is made. I am not a huge noodle person, so I wasn’t very good in discerning the texture of the noodles. That said, I did find it very yummy. All the noodles come at a flat price of $11.90, so price isn’t quite the factor when considering your choice! Flobo went with their “ Signature Wanton Noodles”, because it was ‘signature’. Haha. It was prawn and ?pork wantons swimming in fresh and clear chicken broth (and of course noodles). Kudokun felt that it lacked flavour, but I think what he meant was that it wasn’t salty enough. The chicken flavour definitely shone through, and yes, I would say it could have done with a bit more salt! S

We were blown away by the food and Chef Wong's passion for all things noodles. More people need to know about this place! So what better way to start this blog than to make the first post all about this humble little noodle shop.
Grace.debora
This noodle shop is must visit if you are a noodle lover. Seriously they got some serious tasty noodle to offer...

Chef Wong's noodles were up there with some of the best noodles we've ever had, and really showed that sometimes the old ways are really the best ways.
Everyday Weekends (Yoshika)
There's just this special thing about the noodles at Noodle Forum that makes me crave more. This little noodle shop is a great place to get your noodle fix if you're in the city which is hidden in the Equus Arcade. It's a pretty small space so be prepared to sit shoulder to shoulder with strangers. It's a very simple place, you get seated, you chose from a range of noodles that all have the one price and you order at the counter and wait for your bowl of goodness. All the noodles are freshly handmade, and you're also able to see the head chef making the noodles through their glass walls. I had the laksa, which was great. The noodles are really spectacular, they just have that al dente texture that you can't get with store bought noodles. There's also the option of getting wantons in soup or deep fried wantons, both are great! I love how all the noodle dishes come with two vegetable crackers which are also handmade in store. Other noodles that we've tried include the classic BBQ pork
Ourfoodprints
The noodles? Amazing. They were cooked al dente, just the way I like them. The sauce was the closest thing I could find in Perth, to those back at home. The wantons were perfectly wrapped parcels of YUM, served in a free range chicken broth. It was filled with prawns, pork and salted fish if I’m not wrong. To top it off, they had green chilli!

Australia does Asian food well. Maybe adapted to our palates so not always completely authentic in the choice of ingredients and cooking methods, it is never too hard to find really high quality food inspired by the flavours and dishes of Vietnam, Thailand, Japan and China. One of the newer places to open its doors in Perth is Noodle Forum, in the Equus Arcade on Barrack Street. As the name would suggest, Noodle Forum is a haven for noodle dishes of Chinese origin. In fact, unlike many noodle joints, Noodle Forum makes its own noodles on site – leveraging this edge by having the process on full display as Erich Wong, the head chef, makes his star noodles behind a glass window, a skill he learned from his father and has been perfecting for over 40 years. The video below describes pretty well this ancient art. Fresh noodles, coming up! The menu comprises a bunch of different noodle dishes, with different sauces and meats, all clearly marked as having no MSG. Their signature dish is the noodle wanton soup, with even the wanton skins made in house by Erich. Wanton noodle soup Texturally there is no doubting that the noodles and wantons are nothing short of amazing – a real testament to the craft that Erich kept alive. It is indeed a delicate dish, though I found the broth to be a little bit bland, and I was craving something to spice it up a bit and give it some more punch. BBQ pork noodles Noodle Forum does also a bunch of dry noodle dishes, including their popular BBQ pork noodles. These were top-notch and had the elevated flavour profile that I’ve come to expect from Chinese noodle dishes. Again, more delicate in flavour than other places I’ve eaten at (maybe the no-MSG policy?), though very enjoyable and a dish I’d be happy to recommend and will definitely be ordering again. Crispy fried satay chicken noodles Next up to be tried were the crispy chicken satay noodles, another one packed full of flavour while maintaining some delicacy to showcase the well-made
Nessa
I enjoyed the soup and the noodles, and the inclusion of two pieces of fried wonton skin is a nice touch.
Take Me To Foodie Heaven
To all the noodle lovers out there, rejoice! Noodle Forum brings you tasty noodles that are made fresh daily. What is special about these noodles? The noodles at Noodle Forum are skillfully bamboo kneaded, while using quality Australian flour and local eggs without any preservatives, colouring or artifical flavours. Drawing upon experience and skills inherited from his father, Head Chef Erich Wong makes fresh egg-based wanton noodles daily at Noodle Forum. No tricks. No shortcuts. No magic. It’s purely skill. Come down to Noodle Forum anytime and you will be able to see Chef Erich in action through glass doors. Chef Erich Wong at work Mum had the Laksa Supreme ($11.90) which is a spicy curry soup, infused with coconut milk, served with prawns and shredded chicken, tofu and bean sprouts. I had a taste test and the Laksa was delicious and authentic. The noodles were perfect and the soup was full of flavour. Mum enjoyed her laksa very much.

The best was still the meepok and I hear they had cold noodles for summer. Wished I had tried that. They also have spinach noodles for the vegetarians! Overall, if you are craving for a bit of home if you are from South East Asia, or craving for Asian food, this place will satisfy all of those!
Queen Of Bad Timing
The wantons in the soup are pork and prawn, and have both a great texture and flavour. They're juicy and tender, which is what you want in a good wanton a nice accompaniment to the soup.

If you’ve visited Malaysia or Singapore, you’ve probably been initiated into the joy that is hawker food. Most of the time, each hawker stall only serves dishes that are related, either by cooking method or ingredient. Though the variety of dishes on offer may be narrow, I find the devotion to a specific kind of food to be pretty special, as it showcases the skill of the cook in using a particular cooking style, method or star ingredient. At Perth restaurant Noodle Forum, the devotion to noodles; wantan mee (wantan noodles) to be exact, is pretty clear.

All up including two drinks it cost us $43 which I thought was good value. Plus, service was friendly and quick. We were in and out within 30 minutes. The space is pretty tight but there were hooks for our hand bags/shopping which was handy and the lines in seemed to move pretty quickly.

I rather enjoyed the crispy wanton dumplings. The tender and subtly flavoured beef brisket was also delicious, with a good quantity provided, and was enjoyed thoroughly with the egg noodles.
