Went here with a friend for lunch. Quick service. The guys were friendly and smiley and the food was fine. The cocktails were good. Ambience wise it's a pub, darkish and comfy which was nice and no super loud music. I could actually hear my friend talk. We'll definitely be back.
This underground restaurant and pub is great for its $15 changing lunch specials. Everyone at my table was happy with their steak & chips, pulled beef cheek irish stew, 43 below burger (massive!), fish n chips, barramundi & lentils... but my mini burgers was a let down. Besides getting my meal 10 minutes after everyone else... the wagyu beef slider was ok but lacked sauce, had to add it myself. And the pulled pork slider sounded great but it was sooooo dry it was actually inedible! Im giving them a generous score coz the rest of my table was happy and the prices are reasonable... hard to find in perth!
4e Below. What can I say, you’re a hidden gem in the undergrowth of a neglected street of a neglected city.
And when I say undergrowth, I mean it, literally. Namely, due to your basement location, but also because you are more elusive than Mat Coleman since 2008. I never knew about that guy...
Your special on a Tuesday is a curry and beer. This week it was one of my favourites: a green curry. For all accounts, it was well enjoyed.
You also have a large sausage. In fact, when you flopped out 2 of those babies on the plate, it looked real scrumptious. Apparently it was.
The décor is that of Cheers bar meets Paddy’s bar. Quite homely. It says “come with friends, or cum on friends. Everyone is welcome. Even watto.”
There were no di*kheads playing ridiculously loud acoustic numbers, rather a background playlist that drowned out the awkwardness when the waitress noticed Beau staring at her ladybits.
Suggestions: spend more on advertising. If people actually know you exist, they might increase your patronage to a more-deserved 10+
