Review Gramercy Bar And Kitchen - Perth

This was a decent restaurant that I visited for a work lunch. The staff were friendly and we ordered the Cheeseburger, Chicken Burger and Chicken Parmi. The Cheeseburger was average and the patty was a little dry. The Chicken Burger was the opposite and had way too much sauce. The Chicken Parmi was dry and the sauce had dried up and felt like a layer instead of being cooked into the chicken.

Went for a Friday lunch with work friends. No table service (no issue with that), orders taken at the bar. Despite been told there was a 30min wait for food (which I wasn’t surprised by how busy they were) food came out in 20min and was delicious! I had the Steak Burger with chips. Steak was cooked to perfection if you like your meat rare. I hate it when I order a steak burger and I get cardboard because the steak is cooked well done to eat. Not in this case. The meat was rare and juicy. Chips were a little light but I ate them all so no wastage. Recommend for afternoon lunch!

I went to Gramercy Bar on 18th of July 2022 before 12:00. I ordered 2 whisky -Yamazaki 12 and Springbank 15 years- Even they don’t have Glencairn whisky glass. And I started nosing and tasting. I felt both similar smell like bowmore character. And Finally thought “these whisky are fake one”. I left all my whiskies. Recently some fake whisky found in China. I have worried about coming through in Australia market. I am so warning you ~ do not order single malt whiskies this bar. After I went out this bar~I thought I will be never come back anymore in my life~ I am drinking single malt whiskies many years and everyday. I have in deep understanding and knowledge about whiskies.

Had the fried chicken burger. Must have been designed and cooked by the janitor. Chicken wasn't fresh. No salad in the burger or on the plate. Half a bottle of sweet BBQ sauce in the burger. Disgusting. Only reason I didn't demand a refund, order another meal or leave was this was a work lunch. I wouldn't eat this if it was given away free.

As a licenced bar manager myself..... Rude staff and poor quality drinks. Very disappointing service. Ordered a cocktail that didn't even half fill the glass and was told tough luck by the staff when queried.

Nice beers and ciders, good vibe and great food, we had the pork sliders, quesadillas and Thai chicken salad. 😋

Had an espresso martini and tried out the Wednesday $16 chicken wing special which was nice! Very friendly staff

Standard pub affair. Competitive prices, decent though unexciting menu, quick service although a bit of a language barrier at the bar. Food was good, gets the job done without breaking the bank.

A Promising spur of the moment meal which was let down slightly by one dish but salvaged by one staff member doing the right thing. After walking around Yagan square and the nearby city area we were struggling to find anywhere that wasn’t mobbed and had a few gluten free options. Then I remembered Gramercy. It had plenty of room, a not bad live guitar/singer playing, and a small but adequate menu. The food took a surprising amount of time to come out considering that the place was almost empty. Odd. My chicken parmigiana was lovely. A decent reincarnation of an old fave. Good piece of meat, well cooked and with a nice spicy crust coating. Decent topping of cheese and tomato and an acceptable side salad. It was served on a bed of fries which appeared, however, to be cheap frozen ones and undercooked. Such a shame. Decent well cooked fries would have made this quite a Success. The ribs were well appreciated, and the serve size good value. The last dish was chilli mussels. Good fresh mussels in a tasty sauce with nicely charred bread but, but, but, the sauce was rocket hot. Wife couldn’t touch it, I ate less than half. To their credit they refunded the cost without question when we explained. Apparently the menu is new and the chef still working it out so they will hopefully learn from the feedback. But well done for the calm and quick way that this was dealt with.

Very loud for a cafe located in the city and full of patrons from local offices trying to have a conversation. At least during weekdays, the music should be of a reasonable level...it's not a nightclub after all!
The design of the ladies toilet is another issue here - no hanger on the back of the door for your handbag, in the tiniest toilet I've seen in a restaurant.
Overall pretty uncomfortable.

I've had drinks on a Friday night a few times. We like the Gramercy because it seems to be happy hour all night long although officially it's between 5pm to 6pm. However I've never been charged more than $6 for a glass of house wine or $10 for an espresso martini. The place is buzzing on Friday arvos.

We had dinner here for the first time while we watched the footy on their TVs and the food was decent. $104 for dinner for 4: sausage rolls, grilled fish and chips, fried squid with Asian slaw, tasting board (cured salmon, chorizo, fried chicken, crispy polenta, pickles, bread), arancini and an extra bowl of chips.

My favourite were the sausage rolls, least was the arancini because they were cold in the middle. Portions could've been a bit bigger but all in all, good pub grub.

Right across where we stay is this resto that has a featured dish each day for only AUD 15, so we tried it out for lunch a couple of times. The entire dining area was covered with a skylight, so the place was well-lit. The wide windows opened up to the adjacent park. Gramercy ultimately had a rustic-yet-classy-urban feel. After ordering food at the counter, we picked a table with a nice view. The dishes were brought out within minutes.

Perfect location in central CBD for a drink after work. Love the beef sliders and the cured salmon starter.
Gramercy's layout/decor is fairly predictable but the outlook onto Central Park and surrounds is what sets it apart from the CBD pubs and the indoor bars.

Like this place for the convenience of after work city drinks and the happy hour drinks are absolutely worth it.They sell $5 snacks during these times that is pretty good and the espresso martinis are only $10, best deal between 5 & 6. I found the food to be worth what you pay no culinary masterpieces but comforting and tasty.

Great location.. shame about the food. .
After telling the waitress about the yuk food the manager was over in a flash. He refunded the money despite us declining. . but we were still left with a bad taste.
He tried his best to make amends however I won't be going back.

Pleasant service but if you like medium or large portions don't eat here. I complained and they added more with no problems.
Taste bland pretty ordinary my wife felt the same.
We had the risotto & kofta.
Very disappointing would not eat here again

Reserved a table but was told on arrival to 'just look around to find our Reserve sign' rather than being shown to our table (forgivable if it was busy, but it wasn't at all). Ordered several plates includind Pizza Bianca, Fish Tacos and Cuttlefish. Pizza Bianca was just toasted bread slices with dukka and balsamic/evoo, the Fish Taco was DRY and flavourless and the Cuttlefish was too salty. Really disappointed.

The old e'Cucina. Not the same standard but for a pub atmosphere with a decent feed for a reasonable price it is worth a try. Very friendly staff, efficient and quality. Enjoy!

We had our group/dept. (~20 of us) Christmas lunch at Gramercy. Service: The service was typical of Perth of old - mediocre. Gramercy waitress did her job fine enough and asked if our meals were good (nice!) but lacked refinement. She made no effort with pleasantries or otherwise and simple asked what we wanted to drink without providing anyone with a drinks menu. (I appreciate she was trying to be expedient). Gramercy has a nice and large selection of drinks and beers but I wouldn't have known that unless I asked for a drinks menu. None of my colleagues bothered (bunch of engineers) who simple ordered the same draft beer (Rogers) one after another - sheep. :) I decided to break rank but unfortunately managed to receive the wrong drink - even though I ordered it by its proper name (which the waitress didn't know based on her expression) and then by the type (only one of its kind on the menu). Oh well, not a big deal - these little things happen. But she should have clarified with the customer if she was uncertain. A smile and some small engagement with the customers (come on it is the holiday season as well) would go a long way. Food came quick enough and for the group size within a reasonable enough spread of each of other helped along by her co-workers - she can't do it all as she had at least two other tables. {Aside: Many newer places popping up around Perth have actually started investing in training and educating their wait staff or hiring foreigners who understand what it means to be in the hospitality industry - I used to be waiter myself in North America and things ARE getting much better in Perth} but some places don't still don't recognise that they need to up their game (customers are to blame as well as they accept mediocre service at elevated prices - prices may not be able to come down due to business expenses but no reason service can't go up to improve the overall experience).Foodwise: I had the local market fish (a white fish served with what else - chips - oh surprise, and only a few as well...and nothing else whatsoever). It was very mediocre at best (I think that is kind). It was quite small, I left hungry even after dessert. It was crisp grilled on one side and salted - nice but nothing because it had nothing else (greens, sauce or otherwise) and was small for the price ($35) left me frustrated. Seriously - if this is a Perth restaurant's attempt at maintaining a corporate customer base in a downturned economy they have better invest in their meal quality and educating their staff in offering a better overall experience. People and companies aren't prepared to spend as much so they should be hungry and fighting for business not leaving their patrons hungry and generally dissatisfied. I would not return to this place again for the food but because the location, relaxed and quiet enough (can carry on a conversation) and the beer selection would return for a beer.
The Perth Brunch Blonde
Perfect place for lunch and a drink when in the city. Their dark ale beef cheeks are juicy, tender and fall off the bone. They take reservations and there's a quieter set-up towards the back of the restaurant. Reasonable prices too :)

I found it quite strange that we were neither offered another glass of wine (empty glass was just taken away), nor dessert nor coffees! Other than that, service was pleasant, we were sort of left to our own devices alone in the restaurant area. We both had the chicken and prosciutto salad. I would have preferred if they had mentioned in the menu that the prosciutto was going to be cooked, and put more of it and more goats curd. Other than that there was lots of chicken in the dish. And it was a good size, although I still think $26 is too much for a salad. Nice choice of dishes on the menu, and I would return if invited.

Soooooooo sorry that the lamb shank is out of the menu, used to be the best in town, surprisingly... Some good options for a non special night out. There's a crab pasta dish thing that is a must try.

The food here is amazing, and the wine selection is reasonably priced and among the best in Perth. A great beer selection as well. I love the last drop craft beer range and the mountain goat steam ale. Gnocchi is amazing and also had a taste of the crab pasta. Will definitely becoming back for that next time!

Really love their burger, absolutely spectacular.

However.
Not many menu options at all.
Nothing simple and easy from the menu.
Doesn't serve milkshakes so I couldn't cater for my son.
I ordered just a general English breakfast tea and Everytime I get Luke warm water.
Not overly impressed.
However experience was lovely and staff were equally as lovely.
Foxyangel135
Lovely wines. That's all I need! Wine selection is interesting, changes and always presents a new experience! Nice vibe.

Great coffee/great value. I'm well aware of the happy hour where great wines are served for just $6...but today passed by and collected a coffee before work...Just $2.50, took two shakes of a tail to get it ...fully hot and just as ordered! I'll be back Thanks Gramercy :) :)

(should mention the service -always smiley and no pretence)

My husband and I had lunch here...he had the pork belly and I the grilled chicken with pear, prosciutto etc.
One of the nicest meals I have eaten, highly recommend this place!!!

Ticked all the boxes. Seamless service and great food. Made a large table during a busy Friday lunch look easy! Well done!

Lamb shoulder. Wow. rich flavours, great marriage. I generally don't eat lamb but after seeing a waitress carry the dish past our table, it looked so good I had to try it, and I was not disappointed. my partner loved the arancini.

Fantastic service and great coffee. Hannah at Gramercy is a fabulous Barista who not only serves a great coffee but delivers it with such a happy and welcoming disposition that, even if I'm running late for work (most days!), I'll make sure I stop by to grab a coffee and to start the day with a happy Hannah greeting

-----20 Jan, 2015-----

Fantastic service and great coffee. Fantastic. Gramercy is a place that I will go to again. Very eloquent and classy. The service was perfect, thanks Heidi!, and the food amazing. Great wine and extensive beer choice. Next time I'm in Perth I'll have this on my things to do list.

No class. Seriously don't waste your time and money walking in or organising a function. Our meals were fantastic but whole place needs a good clean, manger is distasteful and obnoxious

Won't be coming back. Went to this place for a work lunch with colleagues..ordered Fish & Chips and what came was a single fish fillet with a pathetic amount of fries (one of my colleagues actually counted 11 fries on his order!)..looked unappetizing and tasted exactly as it looked..for the $22 price, you can get a whole lot better at places like Sasellas, Generous Squire..the food my colleagues ordered did not look appetizing either and feedback was hugely on the low side..ambience is OK and service was so-so..but food is a big let down and not worth it..

Lovely atmosphere and unique food. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of Gramercy. The two dining options are a good touch : You can have a sophisticaed table clothed dinner or you can take it easy in the bar area where the set up is cool and the service is still fantastic.
I tried the Arancini of the day (buffalo mozzarella with chili mayo) and the jalapeno cheese melt for entree. Both were great! The jalapeno was just the right level of jalapeno that made it tasty but not overpowering. I had the gnocchi as my main which was completely different to any gnocchi I have had before...so soft and cheesy! My friend had the lamb shoulder which was sooooo tender!

Just been in to see the new renovations...fantastic! Better atmosphere, larger selection of drinks, mostly new staff but still very friendly. Very impressed and can't wait for happy hour after work on Friday.

Yum! Perfect 3-course Thursday Lunch, all in an hour!. I met my parents here for lunch a couple of weeks ago, while I was at work. We had arincini, mains and coffee's. The food was delicious, although the coffee's were a little too milky for flat white's (but at least they were nice and hot!). I expected to look at my watch, and be late from my lunch break, but we were done with entree's and main's in 40 mins - great, I did not feel like I was being rushed. Waiters were all friendly, and loved sitting by an open window looking over Central Park. Definitely will be heading back, looking forward to trying the dinner time menu!

Nice spot and staff. Went here for some after work Wednesday drinks. They had happy hour from 5-6pm $6.00 SSB wasn't bad at all. We had a couple of those and ordered fries with aoli - they were so generous in size and tasted amazing! The bar staff were really friendly and chatty and it was a nice spot with the windows open and not too busy atmosphere! Apparently the Arancini are good too though we didn't try those as the days flavor was mushroom which no one liked the sound of that :)

Great double shot coffee made by Hannah ;-) it's a shame we have to leave to watch the football as it's a great spot here ;-(

What a little gem in Perth - and no one seems to know about it - Saturday night and very quiet yet the food is fantastic - and warm friendly service! Crispy salmon with ham hock and pea broth - to die for!! Roll on dessert!

Excellent food & service. I went to the Gramercy Bar and Kitchen last Friday on a business trip to Perth. I met up with a friend of mine and we both had dinner. Despite being very busy the service and food were excellent. My mate had the pork belly special which he really liked and I had the lamb from the main menu. My lamb particularly was presented very well and tasted exquisite. We then also had desserts and even though I wished there were more dessert items on the menu, my pick - the Panna Cotta was excellent. We both left satisfied, well fed and knowing we didn't break the bank.

I certainly recommend the Gramercy - even on a busy Friday night!
Iggy
Just ok. The service was ok, the menu was ok, the food was ok and the atmosphere was lacking, but ok! The cocktails were awful though.... Maybe the bar man was new or maybe 18 years old and thought that cocktails were meant to taste like rocket fuel. Won't be rushing back in a hurry, but will give it another chance at some stage.

GREAT VALUE, GREAT FOOD, GREAT SERVICE, GOOD SURROUNDINGS.TRY IT!. We recently booked an evening meal in this establishment after reading a review in the weekend west and I have to say we weren't disappointed with any aspect of our dinning experience here. A small entree to start shared by us, then on to the mains, the Brisket Ragu was to die for tender, very tasty, melt in the mouth and plentiful. Likewise the Pork Belly, succulent, flavousome and very good value. The prices are very reasonable, the service first class by those serving us. We will definately be eating here again and with the warm weather now on us, sitting outside will be great. Keep it up everbody concerned. A big Thank You to all.

Excellent value for money. Enjoyed the whole package this evening; food, service, drinks but in particular the food which really hit the spot.

We were greeted warmly, didn't have to wait long to be given menus or water; which was topped up throughout the evening on our behalf, which few places seem to bother with these days. We didn't bother with entrees as we were just in for a quick dinner after work and so we chose two of the items off the specials and our waiter recommended us a wine for each of the dishes.

I chose the chefs take on paella with Spanish black pudding, medley of peas and crispy pimento shrimp. I have to say, despite not having neither chicken or white fish as a paella does, this dish really came together well. A heat in the dish was present, but not overpowering, complimented by the sweetness from the peas, and crunchy texture of the crispy shrimp and what appeared to be deep friend parsley. Interesting. The waiter recommended Tim adams pinot gris which Is not usually my choice of grape although I'll be sure to add it to my shortlist from now on, it was fruity and light.

Across the table was a sous vide of chilli beef which appeared to have been beaten and then rolled to resemble a sausage with pickled onions, horse radish cream, red wine jus and char grilled apple. I've got to say I've not seen apple with beef before and nor had Jane, but it worked well, adding another dimension to her dish and dancing over our tongues. The jus was incredibly rich, and made the beef sausage thing even more succulent. An Argentinian malbec was suggested and who are we to argue? A very nice wine, reasonably priced; went great with the steak, soft tannins and a deep flavour.

I think both dishes were around the 26$ mark. Very happy with the flavour of each dish and although the sausage dish initially appeared small compared to the paella, its flavour and richness ensured we werent left hungry, nor feeling short changed.

With no room left for dessert or coffee, we left 'The Gramercy' well fed and well looked after. We will definately be back to sample some of the other dishes on the menu, the lamb shoulder catching my eye initially. Well played.

What a find!. A friend and I ventured into Perth City last night, to view 'The Winter Lights' show, we wondered around for somewhere to have dinner and after walking the block/s we went back to the only place that really appealed.
The menu displayed in the window was surprising reasonably priced and the singing from 'Dove' who appear every second Friday, lured us inside.
The staff were friendly, efficient and enthusiastic about the establishment...not often seen in Perth...for them alone we would venture back, but for us we could say the biggest draw card would be the menu...but it was actually the whole place! Location, views of the park next door (Central Park, Hay St), the delicious food (I had the chicken salad-LOVED it!), the prompt service, the price, the music...
Well done Gramercy! We are THRILLED to have stumbled upon you...already organising a group booking...THANK YOU!

Best in Perth?. After 9 months in Perth going to the "named" restaurants and being disappointed, my wife and I stopped by chance and were totally blown away. The crab rissotto amazing, the piece of lamb I was allowed to try fell apart as my wife placed it on my plate. Only two desserts on the menu but "Deconstructed Strawberries and cream? " 4 stars and my better half fell all over thethe chocolate date tart. The prices are less than the fancier restaurants and the food is at least as good if not, in my opinion, better.

Favourite Spot in Perth CBD. I come to Gramercy, previously knowen as Ecucina often.
You can definitely notice the change in management they had sometime last year, in my opinion, the change was 100% for the better!
I get my morning coffee from here. Hot and delicious!
The staff are always friendly and welcoming no matter how busy they are.
The food is always divine and never disappoints me or my friends.
This is the first place I recommend to meet my friends or work colleagues for drinks as it has a great view of the park and not to mention the daily drink specials.. ($10 cosmos on Fridays are hard to ignore)
They have a great atmosphere and are in the perfect location.

This has to be my favorite place in Perth's CBD

Gramercy takes the place of Italian themed é Cucina, nestled alongside the Central Park building, and having an outlook through large windows to the pretty little private parkland on the corner of Hay and William. Gramercy Park in Manhattan is also a private park, so with some licence Gramercy seems quite an apt name for this spot. Lady FWO and I dropped past on our way to a dinner date with others and, running early as usual, thought a drink would be perfect to pass the time. The place has had a makeover since its reincarnation and is quite appealing – nice booth seating along one wall, high tables and stools, an attractive bar, and at the far end a more formal dining area with covered tables and chairs. Gramercy also retains the outdoor area on the footpath with tables and chairs allowing al fresco dining. Gramercy opens early to serve coffee and breakfast to the workers, and in the evening turns more towards a bar, but also offers a range of simple, pub style food – Reuben sandwich as a salute of sorts to its name, fish and chips, sirloin and fries, beef burger, as well as somewhat more substantial meals including beef brisket ragu, rolled pork belly, braised land shoulder and crab risotto. The drinks list is well put together – a dozen or so beers on tap – Little Creatures Rogers, James Squire Hop Thief, and a number of brews from Last Drop – Pale Ale, Pilsener, Sour Cherry Ale and Kristal among them. A number of craft beers also make an appearance – Brooklyn Brewing Brown Ale and Lager, Founders IPA and Blue Moon Belgian Wheat among the US drops. On the wine side, whites such as Chapman Grove SSB, Chalk Hill Vermentino, Tim Adams Pinot Gris, and Leeuwin Estate Riesling show the thought put into the list. The reds show similar style with Watson Family Sangiovese, Hewitson Miss Harry GSM, Whicher Ridge Shiraz and Faber Cabernet all making an appearance. On this occasion I opted for the delightful El Desperado “The Pawn” ro
