Excellent service and the waitress had very good knowledge of the menu. No regrets following her recommendations. Nice food for a good price.
Love it all. I could eat the coconut rice as a meal on it's own, it's that good. Most of the curries blow my mind! I just can't wrap my head around the REVOLTING green bamboo dip used for the crackle. I can't even describe it as bad. It just tastes like puréed wet cardboard. Does everyone else this this?
Went to Wok St Chow House for an end-of-year work lunch. Dishes were pre-ordered and brought to the tables over a period of an hour or two and we all shared.
Most memorable morsels: the pork crackling was perfect, (though, I would not recommend cracking into it during a lull in conversation as it pops loudly!); pork with some five spice seasoning was really tasty and cooked well; the piéce de resistance was definitely the peanut parfait with salted caramel sauce.
The atmosphere and decor are fantastic, though some type of air cooling on the back deck would be great. Service was good and unobtrusive.
The weekly specials add a full 1 point to my score. Why? Because it's the only time you can eat here for roughly the right price. The normal menu entree dishes are far too overpriced for the flavour and portion size. Mains are good, creative, fresh, but still under sized. Inside is well designed and staff mostly are friendly but some tension needs to be relaxed in one in particular.
I have come several times to their special nights.Green curry and rice on Tuesdays for $10 and Pad thai Wednesdays for $10 BOTH ARE SO SO SO GOOD. Can not fault! It is a must try.I haven't had their regular menu yet but will definitely be coming back with friends to try! good work guys!
Really great atmosphere, food and service. Our waitress was very observant and friendly without being overbearing. We all ordered Pad Thai and it was delish. Will definitely return. Also they serve free sparkling water!
Overall a great meal full of vibrant, fiery flavours that are balanced nicely by a nursery of assorted fresh lettuces and tangy pickled chillies. Although I was sceptical in trying this restaurant (as I was under the impression it was highly commercialised), the modernised, reinvented oriental atmosphere and friendly staff turned this perspective around. Although definitely not authentic Thai, I’d definitely recommend Wok St. for anyone pining for a delicious, refreshing meal and a great night out.
Had a fantastic night here last night. The food and cocktails are beautiful! The staff are very welcoming and efficient, with good recommendations. I particularly loved the funky music 😋 My friend and I were so comfortable we stuck around a lot longer than intended.
Definitely try the whole fried fish and the kai lan greens- so flavoursome!
This place is the mutt's nuts. Highly recommend, will definitely return. 5 star service - helpful, attentive, flexible. Great fit out and ambience. Impressive looking cocktails which I plan to try next time. We went for the Chef's Selection ($55 p/p) and amazingly we were able to request the dishes it consisted of. Great levels of spiciness although I think we only got to 3 chillies and one of the dishes has 6 chillies!! 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶 The one minor downside was the dessert we chose (black rice caramel slice) needed to come with more banana to break up the incredibly rich and tasty caramel. See you soon WSCH!
Service was great here, very friendly and helpful and has a great atmosphere. Inside it is quite dark and brooding with a neon panda light illuminating the room. We went for the laksa with plenty of fresh bean sprouts which is a bargain on a Thursday night and accompanied them with crispy tasty flat rotis. That night it was pouring down so it was relatively quiet but I felt really comfortable to be hanging out there over drinks and laksa despite it being so quiet. Even on busier days it's a fun place to go.
I want to go back here!!! The food is so yummy! I love everything we ordered. Duck curry. Soft shell crab. Pad thai. Coconut custard with dark choc sauce. Went there for dinner and it was a bit dim - it was little romantic actually to my surprise.
Was expecting a good taste and it was so much more. Warm and friendly service, very authentic taste and the key ingredient - it was spicy enough! First time here and the soft shell crab is fantastic. Can't wait for next time to try something else. Note that it's best to come in a small group. Servings are mostly meant to share so small group of three to four people would fit perfectly as that means more dishes can be ordered to try.
First if all get the pork belly it is the best thing I have ever tasted and I think nothing can top it off. But if you bring your kids there, the food is pretty spicy but it is all worth it in the end nit to mention they have over 100 alcoholic drinks you can choose. The service is really nice I have been there twice and I haven't had a problem with them. My son has a sesame allergy so they scrubbed the work just for us.
Great range of gin. Catered for our large table with an amazing array of food with excellent service.
