Halford Bar is a classy establishment located in the basement of the State Buildings, at the corner of Hay Street and Cathedral Avenue, the site of the safe room of the old Titles Office. Entering down stairs you find the bar area, with a striking marble topped bar, then through an archway to a couple of sitting areas, or down more stairs to another intimate space.
Espresso martini Masterclass was good fun! You have to pre book and have at least 6 ppl I think. We tried three variations and I was pretty wired the rest of the night... Good way to kick off a big night with friends! They also served a tiramisu type cake which was lovely. The bar tender was very good and was kind enough to wait for someone who was late. We just sat back relaxed while they talked about the drinks and made them for us! Excellent! Cool basement level bar with loads of drinks to choose!
Downstairs Bar opposite Perth Library, its lush and cosy with high chairs & tables on one side and lounge area. Good selection of cocktails and service was fairly good. No issues with the drinks its good stuff however I think the let down was probably the toasties. It wasn't toated well enough, ended up being warm bread really nothing special considering its a whopping $18 . I personally would only come here for a cocktail or two in future.
What a cozy and yet funky hidden secret.
Not the average drinking hole but a classy cocktail and spirit joint. Everything takes time and watching them at the bar proves the attention they show to your perfect cocktail.
No Long Island Iced Tea here... whiskey sours and negroni. Classy!!!
Sit at the bar or service in the lounge... the staff really make the effort. Do yourself a favour... treat yourself to a cheeky few when the other joints shut.
I really liked the vibe at this bar. We asked for recommendations and our server brought out passionfruit and coffee based cocktails. I preferred my passionfruit/ginger one to my husbands coffee martini. I would totally go back for a pre-drink over the weekend.
This bar is 100%. I can not fault. This is more of a quick mention than a blog. Halford is amazing.Blog coming shortly. Must tries are the dry balsamic martini and the south side.
Not quite sure it is everything it was cracked up to be.........

The cocktail list is extensive, and I must say, compared to other venues around Perth, all sampled, especially the Reverse Martini and the Halford, were both extremely enjoyable.
The wine list is solid, if not exciting or diverse for a place where I would expect a slightly broader and more sophisticated range to match their other offerings.
The decor and ambiance is....well...I am honestly not sure. It is part cosy nook laneway bar, part boudoir, part 70s electric disco. Can't say I was a massive fan.
That being said, for a place that is a bit different where you could return on many occasions and still be delighted by good cocktails I would recommend it.
The rest provides a talking point at least.......
Refreshingly different bar. Old school as much as it is new age hip. Big velvet chairs contrasting with matte concrete and unique cocktails. A secret must visit bar for those that enjoy the Friday night vibe as well as the intimate conversation.
Top 3 CBD bar for me. Cosy, moody, chic, welcoming, personal. Superb service. Even love the bathrooms! Fantastic cocktail offerings; creative, pretty and many options. The Halford and The Reverse martinis were highly rated. My Pear Lady was quite weak however The Velvet Underground was tasty but ended too quickly. Creative and amazing smelling food options. I will be back soon.
A beautiful basement bar tucked in under the Treasury building. Stunning decor - plush and very luxe - and great ambience; not so noisy that a conversation was impossible. I ordered the Sweet Tea Soda, which was delicious: quite sweet, as expected, but wonderfully balanced with cider and strawberry. The table service added a special touch. Will definitely be back!
Cozy and neat bar in the CBD. I loved the atmosphere here and decor! I ordered the Halford 75 and was delicious. Great night out spot it for a nice date night with fun craft drinks and good environment.
Great cocktail but tight staff. Only 2 staff serving about 30 ppl drinking. Not special atmosphere or music but cozy sofa. Not very crowded. Nice for talking and can stay for a long time. Average price. Dim light.
Love the atmosphere here and bartenders are very helpful too. Our first round were recommended by one of the bartenders and we loved it so much! Go visit them and won't disappoint you I promise 😉
Nice basement bar at the Como hotel, great knowledgeable staff and prompt service. Good menu something for everyone

Excellent bar had a couple of beers and my wife and her bestie had a couple of cocktails sat in the lounge nice has an interesting past worth asking about it
