Don't get to that part of the CBD very often but on a friend's recommendation I trotted down to give this cafe a try. I am glad that I did because I enjoyed my coffee/lunch!

Mercado Negro's food isn't fancy but it is nice and the coffee is good. The fact that it is on the cheap side which is a bonus.

Mercado Negro is a consistent cafe in terms of both the coffees and food. Service is quick and pleasant. The lunch menu consists of mainly sandwiches- and the fillings are great. The caesar salad with chicken is also pretty good (and generous in terms of portion size). As a bonus, they also stock topdup doughnuts intermittently!

I go here every morning for coffee and it is by far my favorite little cafe in Perth. The staff are friendly and remember how I have my coffee, plus they have TXT ordering which is awesome and saves time.

This place is the best for coffee and muffins. I love the lemon crumble muffin. It's the best muffin I've ever eaten and ask the staff to warm it up for you. It's fluffy and not overly sweet. Should've taken photo before I eat it so you can see but it's too much to resist eating it straight away 😁 love the farmer's roll too but I think they increased the price. So quite expensive for me now. Staffs are great and polite.

Edit: added the photos. Sorry for the cut up muffin. Was about to eat it before I remember to take photo. That's how irresistible it is. :)

Great food and coffee. Went here for a long breakfast as it was raining all day. The food, coffee and ambience was excellent. Overall, an enjoyable and comfortable place to have breakfast.

Nice coffee , cute atmosphere , good food from the looks of the dude sitting a bit further along the bench eating his all day big brekky - looks like a chipmunk hes got that much stuffed in his mouth- must be good! Cool cushions too.
