This restaurant is very special and the places are top notch. We've tried the degustation menu and we were delighted.   The drinks were perfectly done. The only problem was the service, not very attentive for this kind of venue.

Very good food, the 10 courses degustation is truly tasty, not just well presented, and it changes during the year. The ingredients are fresh and the dishes are full of flavour. When I was there few courses included native herbs/plants, which I found unusual and interesting. The ambient is not amazing, I would add some table cloths and would update the interior, to match the quality of the food and to complete the whole experience.

Beautiful food and friendly service. We had the 10 course degustation. The best dishes came later in the evening (duck, followed by smoked pork). The licorice dessert was as delicious as it was unique. The only reason for giving a 4/5 was due to the somewhat lengthy delays between dishes toward the end (just over 3 hours we spent there all up). Not really a big deal and definitely not a reason to miss out on visiting and re-visiting this little gem! My dinner partner was happy about the time between dishes as it gave a chance to rest and digest.

We went to co-op dining in East Perth on a Groupon voucher. I purchased the 3-course meal for 2 people, we went in a group of 3.
We order the Charcuterie platter to share between the 3 of us, the waitress informed us that the Charcuterie meat and gherkin were all made in-house. The taste was really good!
We ordered the Rottnest Scallops, Berkshire Sopressa, green mango which was very good and Dry-aged Mutton Tartare, beetroot, tangelo, wild garlic tasted amazing.
Then we ordered the mains Berkshire Pork, pickled lettuce, pumpkin, rye, unfortunately, my thoughts on this dish are it's a bit too bland, the pork and the pickled lettuce doesn't go well with it.
My girlfriend ordered the chicken breast main dish which we didn't think much if it either, the chicken breast was overcooked and pretty tasteless. The chicken breast dish came with the pickled lettuce as well.
We ordered the 2 desserts were listed on the menu, Carrot, buttermilk, star anise, the dish is like a pannacotta texture. I like it but my girlfriends are iffy about it.
The other dessert is Seasonal crumble, yoghurt sorbet, it felt like a breakfast dish for me.
My overall experience I love the sharing plate and the first dish, mains and desserts were average.

My husband and I went here for his birthday and had a delicious express tasting menu. The food was creative, and the staff were attentive and friendly. I would definitely recommend!

Occasion: Not that we needed one for a degustation, however it was my partners 30th birthday.

Food: We have eaten at various degustations across Australia. I like to think we have a pretty good idea what makes a degustation amazing, 5/5 and highly recommendable (I am not claiming we are experts I am high lighting the point that I can compare among degustation places). We opted for the 10 course degustation menu. The birthday boy got matched wines with the meal and I was DD. So here does (NOTE: the meal was a few nights ago, and I can not remember the names of each dish off the top of my head):

Homemade rye bread with yeast infused butter
Snacks: Veal tongue and pork crackling
Dishes: Summer garden
Marron and peach
Pork belly? and charred leek with dessert jam
Roasted potatoe and onion with blue cheese and milk and watercress
Lamb Mutton with plum
Ginger Kombucha
Strawberry and Vanilla sorbet? with liquorice and almond topping
+dessert with a milk pour

Firstly the food was fresh and well cooked in all dishes. The summer garden was the highlight/standout dish as it was tasty, different and made sense to the theme of co-op dining. The Lamb mutton was not my favourite, but because it was different, tasted different and well presented
definitely needs an honourable mention. The other dishes were not "wow" and did not make me feel like I wanted more. The potato and onion dish was tasty, a new addition that night and they wanted feedback on it. I told them I felt like it was a dish I could make at home. Roasted potatoes and onions with a sauce is not something that belongs in a degustation, it brought the overall rating down a notch for us. It didn't have much technique (potatoes and onions were cut in half and mildly seasoned) and the waiter poured the sauce on for us and took it away. My partner could not taste any blue cheese in his sauce and he felt if he could have had more sauce maybe the dish could have been better.

The other dishes were slightly above average, at best.

Service: Excellent. We did not get the names of the waitress and waiter that night, but they were both informative, friendly and attentive. There were 7 tables going this night (mostly couples and one bigger group). And I felt they managed the flow well. Sometimes longer waits between wine pouring and food service, especially when the larger group arrived, however they did well at maintaining high level of professionalism and warmth when presenting the wines and food.

Ambience: I feel like there is something missing. The space is still not quite right here. It feels like the intimacy is lost. We were seated in the back corner in a U-shaped booth and this was not comfortable. It was awkward to get into (in a dress) and sit close to my partner and have my head and neck at a slant all night to chat to him, I think they can do much better in terms intimate seating/ get rid of the booths?

Wine pairing: Notable mention. My partner is in the wine industry and he commented that the wines were complimentary and went well with the dishes. I tried a few and the wines were spot on to the meal. Made me want to have more of the wines. Well balanced, smooth and complimentary to all dishes.

Overall: 3.5/5. Definitely has room for improvement. I think with improvements on making the dishes more different and thinking outside the box a bit more, simple relying on organic, freshly sourced produce is not enough for a degustation @ $110pp. Making the dishes something that people can't cook at home is the path to take. I do like that they offer a 5 course option, which gives restaurant goers a good option. Would I recommend this place to my family and friends? Maybe. There are a few other places I would recommend above it.

Having a few vegetarian friends, when we found out that Co-Op Dining did a vegetarian degustation, we had to book it in. Deliciously cooked fresh organic vegetables. My favourites were the roasted cauliflower with miso glaze drizzled with macadamia nut milk, the asparagus and slow cooked egg yolk, and the yoghurt pear ice cream with ginger and chocolate soil. They also had complimentary rye sour dough bread with whipped butter. The whipped butter tasted like it had a hint of vegemite (it wasn't), and it was delicious. The dishes matched well with a glass or a few of pinot. Definitely coming back to try their regular degust!

Celebrated my birthday last month at Co-Op Dining. Food was delicious, substantial portion, reasonable price tag, and good service. . Rye bread with house churned mushroom infused butter. Blue swimmer crab and smoked creme fraiche. . Manjimup rainbow trout. Hen's yolk with puffed buckwheat.

Was looking for a nice quiet degustation to try (besides Amuse) and booked in for a birthday dinner at Co-Op. The setting was very nice and surprisingly very private with the different seating locations. Chef cooked up an array of different dishes that tantalized the taste buds, the opening plate with the pate was fantastic, my favourite of the night though was the tomato based soup, that was such a tease, I could have eaten a bucket worth of it! Can't say I was a fan of the kangaroo dish but thats just my taste buds not the chefs ability. Staff were great and managed to put the old "Happy Birthday" writing on the dessert plate, very happy. Again its kind of hidden in the back streets of East Perth so be sure to check google maps

Loved the experience and how proud the staff seemed when annoucing the background of the different dishes. Loved most of the dishes, although some were more tasty than others. Like most good things, wished that I could have more of the food.

If you're looking for simple, great quality ingredients that have been put together in exquisite ways, then Co-Op Dining is for you. This is not your typical fine dining restaurant, it is relaxed, experimental dining with a highly talented chef and great wine list. We dined on a Saturday, and saw the three staff members spend all evening in constant action with a full restaurant, yet had the time on each setting down and clearing of courses to explain the dishes and check in with us at every stage. Good service did not begin to explain the effort we saw from them. On leaving, the manager explained that they had had a staff member quit prior to service, the two others were quite new, and that it was the busiest night they had had. When we told her we hadn't noticed she seemed genuinely happy to hear we had a great evening. Each dish we had that night was perfectly combined and the wine paired was spot-on. It started with fresh, simple starters, and ended with chocolatey goodness. A genuine pleasure to have dined there.

Went in a group of four, all with dietary requirements. The kitchen not only catered to every requirement perfectly, they actually made us a coconut flour free and gluten free bread on the spot after we realised we forgot to mention the coconut allergy. Really lovely service all around, it's hard to dine with dietary requirements but co-op kitchen and floor staff made us feel normal and gave us a delicious meal to boot.

10 course degustation was really good, quality locally sourced ingredients, and interesting flavour combinations with lots of fruit and veggies (which is great) but it did lack that feeling of richness and decadence that you would typically get from a high-end degustation restaurant. I walked out feeling like I had a diverse tasty and healthy eating experience (but when it comes to degustations I want to walk out feeling like I really indulged!) The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and incredibly accomodating! Definitely a place to check out if you like to try something different!
