Love the mamak Maggie mee goreng. But take note it's Singapore style not Malaysia style. Teh-Tarik was good too. Definitely will be back for more.

Good casual dining. Dishes are spicy and aromatic.
Again, usually I’ll try out places to eat a couple of times before jumping to a conclusion. Mamak Botak is relatively new. Tried their Nasi Lemak with curry chicken and lamb shank briyani on my second visit. Both times I had their teh-tarik, both times it is good ( Note - not made from instant powder).
The nasi lemak is a simple classic - rice cooked in coconut milk, crunchy anchovies, boiled egg and cucumber. Sambal is aromatic and spicy. Chicken curry is alright, not overcooked. The lamb shank has a spicy curry and the meat just falls off the bone. Care has been taken by the chef to slowly cook it until all the spices blend together in the curry. There’s lots of onions in the dish, and it’s well caramelised. Flavour is expected from a good briyani dish. Not to forget the briyani rice - fluffy and flavoured with saffron.
This is a great place for casual diners looking for a clean and friendly place to eat. Waiters/ waitresses are friendly. 👍
nice food and very friendly staff. lots of parking around the place as well. we ordered mee goreng and two plain roti canai. Both are very nice, big portions as well.
Had breakfast here on a Sunday. We've enjoyed dinner here before - good food, although a bit pricey. I was disappointed with my breakfast order though. This is the menu description: Cheesy Kiddie Toastie
- Single slice thick-cut white Vienna toast, grilled with cheese three ways, garlic mushrooms and cucumber pineapple salad. What was served was not a 'single slice thick-cut Vienna toast' - it was 2 thin slices of white bread, which were very soggy. It was tasty but I would have preferred the Vienna toast. I think if you're going to serve plain white bread instead of what's on the menu, you should at least inform the customer. Some of us know our breads! The teh tarik is good though.
Went for lunch and ordered the lamb shank briyani. The lamb was perfectly spiced and falling off the bone. It just melted in your mouth! Served on a bed of briyani rice with a side of pineapple and cucumber acar, and papadum. The serving size was generous and could even be shared between two people. Also ordered a Chendol but felt it lacked flavour and was quite mediocre. The restaurant has a nice casual atmosphere and loved the eclectic tables. One which featured an old ice maker to make ABC used by vendors back in Malaysia and Singapore, featured as a base of the table, very funky! Staff were friendly and accommodating. Will be back to try other menu items soon.
The food is good. We have tried the chicken briyani, mee goreng and nasi goreng kampung. They are all good but I especially like the briyani. The staff are friendly and trying their best. It’s a new store so they have some teething issues such slightly longer wait time for food. Definitely will visit again in near future.
We've been here twice during our stay in Perth. Of all the Msian/Singaporean food we tried, this is arguably the best around. The lamb shank briyani is an absolute must try. Friendly service and food came very fast. Thumbs up, keep it up guys!
Mamak Botak is a lovely eatery operated by friendly owners. It offers authentic and delicious South-East Asian Indian and Malay food like Roti Prata, Chicken Briyani, Nasi Lemak, Mee Goreng, etc. The interior of the eatery is renovated to provide a cosy and relaxing hangout for anyone yearning for a palate-satisfying meal. Thumbs-up! Note: owner shared that menu will be updated shortly.
Had the ayam merah and mee goreng and thosay. Guy at front counter was a nice chap, explained what the food in menu was like. After eating.."Sedap nak mampus sial!!!".. haven't had good tasting Singapore local mamak food in Perth ever since.. that one place in Northridge year's ago.
It's a very cozy and warm eatery serving Singaporean/Malaysian cuisine. There's Nasi Lemak, Mee Goreng, Nasi Briyani, Pratas, Thosais, Murtabaks, Ice Kachang and Chendol to name a few of the items on the menu. There's also an excellent selection of Asian drinks. Was there on a Thursday night and service was prompt despite business being brisk.
1st time had the buffet today. I agree with spacious seating. Not cramped with next table. If you crave for some malaysian curry + can eat more than 1 portion = this place is good to try. I find it unusual to have a person serving you the dishes (instead of "help yourself"). I guess that is the "quality assurance" factor 😊
Love how roomy it is and the always friendly and attentive service. Very baby friendly.
I have lunch here every other week and always enjoy their dosa and teh tariks.
If you love spice, this is the place to go. However, my friend who doesn't enjoy too much spice, struggled to find a menu item suitable. Even their mild dishes can still be fairly spicy.
