They had Guinness on tap. Good start. The service was pretty much standard. We thought the quality of the food could have been better. The atmosphere was a standard pub. Room for improvement we thought.

Slightly pricey, but the food was also better than average, so was fine on that front. Same could not be said for the DJ who thought he needed to play 80s music at club rave volumes. If I wanted the experience of only drinking because I can't hear my friends 30cm away, then I would not be going here. Staff could not be convinced to appreciably turn down the music either.

Food is really nice and I’ve eaten there several times, the staff are lovely I’d give the food 5 stars but reason for 3 is I have been to the Motown night twice now and I feel it’s very outdated and the music is awful, Motown is amazing music but there was nothing played that made your feet tap, only a handful of people danced, that could be a brilliant night and perfect for older clientele, I wouldn’t go back as the sound system is terrible, how about some nice video footage background showing the singers and good quality sound, I think it would bring a good crowd in, your Motown night needs modern technology

Beautiful meal today as it was my dads birthday..service was quick and food was lovely ..Only discrepancy was manager/possible male owner needs to focus on his customers than his phone...constantly on phone while we are trying to get served ..not on phone just texting or browsing . You will loose customers this way as many customers were saying this ...customer service first ...also should not be drinking behind bar to ...otherwise nice meal 😋

Nice relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff cant go wrong and with 5 different summer cocktails at $10 even better.. My girlfriends and I had a lovely arvo. Garlic chicken pizza, and fried chicken pieces were delicious

The food was pretty good but a big gap between meals coming out was annoying, but left standing at the bar for a drink and then the 1 of 4 staff wanders down to the other of end of the for petson that just turns. Not surprising I left and thought stuff waiting for another drink. Yep hard to get half decent staff and service.

Parmie was great, kids menu was a large meal but my madam ate it all she LOVED it (steak and chips)and her desert. my steak- ordered rare and bloody after explaning in great detail how i wanted it slightly still mooing but not 'blue' came out medium- slightly pink in the middle so i took it back, the next was better but still not rare, not bloody. i get this this problem all the time, at many restaurants all in all it was a great dinner with great service and friendly staff.

What a great place. Nice atmosphere, very friendly and knowledgeable bar tender and absolutely amazing food. Way too much as well, we did share the chicken schnitzel and barely managed to finish it between 2 of us. Will definitely come again.

I’ve really enjoyed all the meals I’ve eaten here and am always impressed by the quality and taste of what I order. <br/><br/>There’s nothing special about the interiors which are perhaps a little dated but this local pub has a great atmosphere and is busy most nights of the week. Service is super friendly which is a huge plus and the included salad bar (which I may add is awesome) with all main meals is great :)<br/><br/>Just an extra point, I’m obviously not a senior but many of my family members are and the senior’s menu is really good value-for-money too 👍🏻

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and amazing service. I never realized such good pub food was served here. The portions are generous and tasty.

We grew up coming here for family birthdays. Salad bar always a hit. I find it a bit boring of late, when we had visited here. The Salads taste similar, and look mhhh !!!prices are a little expensive for pub food especially when you are taking the family .

I came this tavern for late night beer. I went to the bar to order, the staff tried ti ignore me( pretend she cannot see me! ) so i asked her what time the bar close. She did not even look at me and answer me "I dont know".<br/>She d better learn better hospitality skill rather than run away n ignore customer. I felt embarrassed n i will never go back. Plus. Beer taste like water. I donT know how is that possible.

Standard pub food with generous portions. What I do like though is that there is a salad bar available, which comes with a standard meal or you can choose to dine from solely the salad bar which is what I did. Not a bad selection of salads. When I went on a Sunday with a big group the place wasn't too loud so you could still have a conversation without having to shout which is a plus.

Lunch Tuesday 8th March<br/><br/>Staff were friendly and helpful, very nice.  We were<br/>able to choose our own table which is great that we didn’t end up pushed into a<br/>tiny table by the toilets or the entry/exit doors (where tables for two usually<br/>end up).  We chose a 4 seat table which worked out well because or entree<br/>and mains came out pretty much at the same time, the plates wouldn’t have fit<br/>on a two seat table with our salad plates and drinks.  We ordered the<br/>Jalapeno poppers for entree and for mains, I ordered the mega Barramundi, prawns<br/>and scallops dish, my husband ordered the special of the day – a beef with<br/>Guinness pie.  The poppers were nice but couldn’t really taste the cheese<br/>and bacon, good Jalapeno flavour though.  I was quite disappointed when I<br/>got my fish dish, I was expecting a big piece of fish with lots of prawns and<br/>scallops but the fish was about 10cm x 9cm and it came with two prawns and one<br/>scallop on a skewer on top of the fish.  Saying that, the seafood was all<br/>cooked perfectly and tasted very nice.  My husband thoroughly enjoyed his<br/>pie, the meat just melted in his mouth.  The salads that came with the<br/>mains were a good variety of fresh ingredients but they had been topped with an<br/>awful creamy salad dressing, I think they could do away with the side salads<br/>because there is a great buffet salad bar with lots of choices to make your own<br/>salad.  Everything on the buffet salad bar looked fresh and clean.<br/><br/>Overall,<br/>great staff and service, nice atmosphere.  Price verses plate servings not<br/>good but food cooked well - It cost almost $90.00 for a pub meal with two<br/>drinks

Can't even cook pasta. I have now ordered the Penne Ariabata twice, both times pasta wasnt even cooed properly. Tonight i sent my pasta back, and it came back out within ten minutes, still uncooked and pasta was hard and disgusting. Chefs are obviously not qualified if they can even cook some penne pasta!! Other meals are ok, but take the pasta off the menu if you are incapable of cooking it.

Not too shabby. I've been here twice over the last few months for our book club meetings. Both times it's been great. We've gone mid week so the tavern isn't too busy or noisy. The food servings are big and tasty and the wait to get food is quick. Drinks are bought at the bar. The service has been friendly and the variety of the menu is extensive. A salad bar accompanies the main meals and they have a kids menu. It's not a fancy place to eat but the food has been good the times I have eaten there. The beef tortellini was delicious last week!

Drinks and meal with a mate, beers good food nothing special stick to the beers...

PRICEY BEER. Food a little on the pricey side except for the specials in the public bar area. At least has a reasonable salad bar which is a novelty in pubs these days. But the price of beer is a complete rip off and I must say I was quite shocked to be paying $12 a pint.

Completely overpriced. Cost of drinks & meals completely overpriced. Over $10 for a pint of mid strength local beer. $38 for a piece of porterhouse steak (nothing flash) with an egg on top and chips on the side. The salad bar is ok but not that good to warrant the price of the meals. $30 for a very small piece of snapper with a mango salsa on top. They are charging prices more in line with fine dining full service restaurant.

Gross food, terrible service. I came here last night for a party, and I can honestly say this is the worst pub food I've ever had. I ordered the chicken parmigiana, and it came to me without any sauce or cheese! Tasted like it had been in a warmer for a week and a half, too. My friends had different meals, and they disliked theirs as much as I did. The Thai beef salad was drowning in spicy sauce, so much so that my friend couldn't eat it, and it had at most 7 tiny strips of beef on the top. My other friend had the Angus steak, and asked for it to be done medium. It came to him almost raw. People serving were rude, shouting at me to give them the menu off the table. Will NEVER be back!

Terrible manager. Went last night for a work Xmas function. The Thai green soup was nice, better than I expected, but unfortunately that was the highlight. The rest of the meal was average at best and we were short at least 2 mains. When my colleague asked for the risotto which was supposed to be our vegetarian option, she was told they weren't serving it. They eventually came out with a past dish but They were VERY rude. The bar staff were slow and got the orders wrong most of the time. When we picked them up on mistakes , they were rude and a few times they walked away mid service! Didn't even get our drink order out! The kicker was at around 9pm when the manager decided to cut our group off from the bar. His reason.....we had been there since 3. Yes our booking was at 3 so there were a few that got there early. The soup was served at 5pm and after the meal was done a lot of people went home. When we asked to speak to the manager we were ignored and when he did finally come out he was rude and left mid conversation without a resolution - even the bar staff looked confused. All in all I can say that the food was average, the service was poor, the staff and management were disgustingly rude and we can cross the kardy off the list. We will not return!

Microwaved steak. My boyfriend and I went there looking for good pub meal. After waiting 40 minutes for our Angus steaks with onion rings, we noticed the people behind us in line get meals brought to them and send them back. We thought no worries, that's our meal, will be here shortly. After 10 minutes we followed up the wait staff. 2 minutes later our meals came... Steak and mash luke warm, sauce giving away the fact it had clearly been re-heated. After expressing our disappointment the wait staff avoided eye contact to the point until we left. The table next to us had the same complaints about their cold meals and we will definitely not be back.

Pretty Ordinary. Just been to The Kardy for an evening meal. We booked in for an early 6pm meal, so the place was pretty quiet when we arrived. To our surprise, the food arrived at our table within about 3 minutes of ordering. We soon discovered why. My chicken parma and chips had definitely been cooked prior to our arrival, and the salt and pepper calamari ordered by my wife and son seemed to have been given the same treatment. Now here's the catch - a main meal of calamari is $24 including the salad bar. The smaller entrée size serving of the calamari with a salad bar added is $26. Go figure! We won't be going back.

Average. Had dinner on Friday night, I suppose for the price it's a decent serve of food,and the salad bar was fresh looking, but there was something lacking here, a smile and good customer service, yes they were busy but when we arrived the waitress just pointed in the direction and said your tables over there. The steaks were obviously precooked as they came out right on top of the entrees, then they forgot one of our deserts, I guess it's ok, but I won't be rushing back, it's nice when staff can build some re-pore with customers or have the ability to interact with customers I guess.It felt like a production line to me.

Good quality bistro. Good quality pub food not to expensive,and nice to have a beer outside in the newly renovated outdoor area in the sun.

NEVER DISAPPOINTED. My wife and I eat here often when we want a quick good meal. We have been coming here for many years. My steak has ALWAYS been correctly cooked. The staff are always friendly especially the girls behind the bar. You can tell by the number of customers this place has that the food is good and the service not bad at all. Perhaps the persons complaining have been rude to the staff. Also, if there are 100 or so persons arriving at the same time for dinner you are going to have to wait a while. Tuck into the salad bar and bread, enjoy another beer and watch the world go by or even better chat to your dining partner.

Terrible time. Shame as it's my local. My friends fish was underdone and potatoes where very under cooked yet the older English waitress said' that's how they come... Everybody else likes them... I think they are lovely' they were not and she wasn't the one paying $32 and trying eating them! No Sorry just took the plate and replaced it. New plate was the same!!! She didn't offer chips instead!? Didn't ask how we wanted to make if right. The first thing I would had said is would you like chips or some other side instead? And made my friend feel so small like she was being stupid. Barmaid seemed like she was on drugs and the manager seemed to be having meetings with his staff but as the awful band was sooo loud he was shouting so loud we could all hear! Felt awkward like the staff were moaning about us for the rest of the evening. Not what you want when ur showing someone new to the suburb the local pub!

Great salad bar, grumpy guy who seemed in charge.The meal was good and price on a par with pub meals, venue noisy as full, which obviously shows its good by the amount of people there.

What a place, very topsy turvy having had many different experiences here, if you lean towards the less pub like meals tben the foods excellent, the management however..... love it when slimy obese men talk down to you and there staff like theyre better than everyone. Look in the mirror buddy.

Below average. Have eaten here several times due to the location. However food is below average pub food, at high prices. This place needs some competition in the area to bring it up to the standard it should be.

Great Sunday Lunch. I came here with family for a birthday lunch last Sunday, after reading the reviews on here I wasn't expecting much, but I was very pleasantly surprised. The place was packed and had a nice busy atmosphere, the food came out quickly and the servings were generous. I had the chicken fettuccine, which was good, and my partner enjoyed his Surf 'n Turf. The staff were very busy, but still polite and gave good service. I thought the prices were quite reasonable, around what you would expect to pay for pub food in Perth.<br/>It's not fine dining, but for a pub lunch it really hit the spot. I will definitely go back.

What a huge disappointment, we took our English rellies for lunch. as its one of our favourite places to eat. The feta was plastic and didn't crumble. It was not touched.<br/>The fish 'n' chips that was supposed to have fat chips had fries that were over salted and two guests were unable to eat. The arachni balls were served with some sort of tomato sauce nothing like the salsa that usually sits to the side. Pork belly was undercooked. You could bearly see the sauce on the parmy.<br/>The salad bar is exceptional and the staff are lovely. But unfortunately that was the last time we will visit. A lot of our food was untouch only one of the arichini balls was eaten 3 were left. The feta starter was untouch. Not one staff member bothered to ask if we had a problem. The salty chips are surely a Heath risk in these times they looked like they had come from HJ's disgusting.

My partner and i attended the kardy last night and was disapointed with the meals and the lack of service.we travelled all the way from girrawheen to enjoy a night of good food and wine but were bitterly dissapointed overall.<br/>my wifes barramundi was dry and lacking of sauce . also the meal had salad thats ok but there is s salad bar if you choose to have salad.therefore the mains could have been slightly larger.my parmagiana was ok but again over priced for pub food. kardy not the same as years ago,what has gone wrong. used to be packed to the rafters .owners what has changed

SLOW SERVICE. The food is OK, but the Service is so SLOW, we had to wait over an hour for a very simple dish to arrive, I could have made it at home in 10 mins eaten it and washed the dishes before I got to even eat and I am NO CHEF.<br/>So sorry not really interested in coming back again, unless I see some good reports about the speed of the service.<br/>An HOUR is to long to wait in a Pub, 30 mins tops is acceptable no more.

Do not expect good service here. Totally rude waitress, no idea about courtesy, how hard is it to say "I'm sorry, I gave your order to someone else" and make recompense by getting another meal? For goodness sake, it is called common sense, try it sometime.

No customer service what so ever in this place! When i enquired how long our steak would be, since the rest of our table had finished theirs meals, they couldnt find our receipt. The manager then asked what i wanted to do? No apology, no offer to get my food started or a free drink NOTHING! When i asked for a refund i was told i may be upset but there was no need to be rude...... Then the manager promptly sat down to eat his lunch. Customers first buddy. Especially for the outrageous prices you charge

Absolutely rediculous!! Waited over half an hour after my mum got her meal to be told they lost our order, no sorry or we'll get straight on that here's some comp drinks, just " well what do u want to do? " was the question put to us. Crappy salad bar and crappy drinks service. Never ever will I dine there again!!

We waited over 40 minutes for the starters to come out, first one was prawn kebabs, ten minutes late oysters natural and garlic bread, theses two item were ordered first, along with this came my mother in laws main meal<br/>, still the rest had not got there starters. When they did arrive the were thrown on the table. <br/>Mains came out question asked who ordered rib eye,not we asked how is it cooked sowaitress had to ask.<br/><br/> still 3 persons not received there mains, two got theirs and then the waitress came up and said we only odred two ribs , when we ordered 3, in fact the had run out, so had to have different stake.<br/><br/>Other people came in an hour after us and got their meals before us, will not be going back to the place as it as bad service, no detail to orders and could not give a care about the people dinning there.<br/><br/>thats the trouble know a days, especialy here in Perth service is of a poor standard. if more put their veiws acroos then may be it will lift and the owners of these establishments would take notice

Food was ok. But the judgemental and rude waitresses and bar girls really put me off. Service was slow and crap and since it was dead quiet for lunch, I'd figured we'd be handed a menu. Instead we had to grab it ourselves. Very pricey as well. Avoid and hit up another pub.

I have eaten here a couple of times, not counting the counter meals in the sports bar, and it is OK. Really nice salad bar but the prices of some of the meals takes them out of the pub category and into fine dining. Unfortunately, whilst doing pub food really well, fine dining it is not. Paying $38 for a rack of lamb that was fatty and overcooked leaves you wishing you had the $18 fish and chips.

Alright. Me and my partner went there on a week night so there wasn't many people there. <br/>I ordered the chicken schnitizal while my partner ordered the steak. My chicken was quite large but very thin and ended up being quite tough, but the steak was quite think and a big portion. The free salad bar was OK, the fact that they were lacking a basic garden salad was a bit disapointing though. It was an average meal, I would still go back for something different though.

After living in the Kardinya area for well over a year, I decided it was time to try the Kardinya Tavern. I'm glad I did too, as the food was great, the service was quick and the drinks were cheap. Will definitely be returning!

It was OK. Went here last night for family birthday. Taken to a table for 4 which was tiny, especially considering that all 4 of us are over 6 foot.<br/>service people were courteous however main guy did seem abrupt. Entrée of Turkish bread and dips was not good, very ordinary hummus and literally a tablespoon of each.<br/>Mains were better, salmon was cooked very well although lathered with sauce. Squid looked thick, but no complaints and child was happy with fish and chips.<br/>Desserts were good too. Chocolate cake looked very chocolatey and cheesecake was nice - presented nicely considering a pub. Child's mousse was huge and very rich.<br/>Probably wouldn't rush back as not from that area, but was nice albeit a bit noisy once the band started.

Manager. Me and a friend were down at the Kadinya today for our first time.<br/>We got a feed which was great.<br/>After we had been there for about 5 hours watching the same tv with the races on it the manager decided to walk up and change the channel mid race. After we questioned him about it he explained to us that it was a sports bar, then proceeded to change the channel to music videos.(for a sports bar that seemed strange)<br/>Thought this was poor form by the manager as we had been there all arvo spending money over the bar and through the tab.<br/>We wont be back!!

Not bad for a pub. I've had dinner at the Kardie a few times now. The salad bar is always fresh and tasty. The main meals are of a good size and cooked to decent pubby standard. An easy, pleasant night out.

Absolute disgrace!!. Lousy service, not from the staff, but from management - they seem uninterested and just wanted my money. The food was poor, and they seemed sexist because the bistro and sportsbar were only women.

Great pub food and free salad bar.

The food wasn't too bad, average, but for pub food the servings were a little lacking, but I suppose it's probably because they provided a free salad bar
