Review Chilli King Chinese Restaurant - Perth

Szechuan chicken was ok but hard to eat with all the bones. Kong po praws was just peanuts and green onion with little prawns. Service was nice and fast.

Very good and not really spicy, if you like hot food, could have a try.

As an Asian I would say, their spicy food are same taste. Thus, it was worse food that I've never eaten.

This is the worset one I've been. Food is oily and salty, noodle more like instant noodle. Never ever come back again.

Very very impressed with the meal and the service. I had eggplant dish as I'm vegetarian at the moment and spring rolls, my wife had beef brisket.
Filling fast and friendly
Under 40$ with drinks
The Chinese patrons all seemed to get massive bowls of soups and noodles
Will try these next time
Their services are bad and their food aren't good. We have a baby who is 8 months and cannot eat their food. When their boss knew that, she said if you're not going to eat, get out of here!!!

Chilli King Chinese is a simple decor restaurant on Northbridge serving northern Chinese cuisine, some dishes from the Szechuan region. The clientele is Chinese and I got a few looks reminding me of my time in China at a “foreigner” entering the restaurant. I was greeted and taken to the table to peruse the extensive menu. The waitress came over which is a prompt to “you’d better be ready to order!” I was and I settled on the spicy soup noodles with beef brisket, perfect for the cold winter. After some time, a bowl arrived filled with a dark red broth with lots of chillies hidden under the thin noodles, chunks of beef brisket, and bits of buk choy. The broth is tasty but probably needs a bit more seasoning. However, there’s plenty of spiciness via the lip numbing Szechuan chillies which have a slightly numbing effect but aren’t that hot. Slurping the broth with the noodles is a tasty affair, one is warmed up pretty quickly. I really loved the super tender delicious chunks of beef brisket which melt in your mouth. It’s a great meal for this weather and I polished off the soup.

Don't know why I didn't try this place sooner. I quite like the noodles here and not too overpriced either. They are another Szechuan style restaurant offering a mix of share dishes as well as individual noodle dishes. We had the Wanton Noodle Soup and the Braised Beef Noodle Soup. The wanton soup was different to the standard Malaysian style as their broth was alot oilier and strong sesame oil flavour, the wanton doesn't have shrimp but was ok. Love the noodles they use, chewy and smooth and not egg based. The braised beef was tender and we'll braised, had salted vegetables and soup was oily and spicy but tolerable and not overpowering. Was a decent feed.

I went there last week with my wife and kids. By looking at the menu as it is with pictures we were very excited. I ordered cold noodles, kumpao chicken rice and maopo tofu. They put the crockery and cutlery on the table.Chops sticks were dirty.we ask to get them changed. After waiting for quiet a long time (was said 15 mins) i insisted them to bring at least the noodles. My wife gave some to my kid and while eating found a cockroach in the noodle, while called the wait staff she quickly removed the dish, instead of apologizing she whispered to my wife in Chinese she will not charge for the dish. Upon getting angry they end up saying this thing has happened for the first time in last two years since they open. when my wife post the same story on qq group of Perth. Quiet a few people commented that they found insects and cockroach in their food as well. Very very poor practice of food safety . I wonder how they pass the health inspection. Very poor sanitation and also poor customer care skills. We will not go there and wont recommend either.

They were very accommodating for a large group. The food is delicious and authentic, with good vegetarian options! Would definitely recommend if looking for yummy Chinese food in the city!

Organised big group dinner for here. Everyone very impressed with the authenticity of the dishes-so rare to find proper Sichuan cuisine. Especially recommend the 鱼香茄子 but all dishes were delicious and proper use of 麻辣! Very reasonably priced and staff all very accommodating to any request we had and very generous of spirit. Best Chinese in Perth.

Fantastic authentic sichuan dishes. Spent six months in sichuan and rate this best in perth. Not like being back in china but as close as perth offers. Come for a taste of real food, real spice, real mouth numbing. Lovely staff. Basic decor but clean.

Staff were friendly with accents from northern China. However foods not good enough and the environment is more similar to a fastfood restaurant..since you're in Perth city there're plenty of other choices, include other Sichuan food restaurants.

It's pretty decent food - not the best, but not the worst. Whether it's authentic or not, I really can't say, but I had two noodle dishes and pan-fried dumplings - taste was ok and price was pretty good for Perth standards. I have had better, but it's a decent place for decent food at good portion sizes.

Service was definitely lacking, but for what you pay, can't expect too much. I would not likely return, but not because the food or service was bad, just that there are better places to eat in the area.

Pork With Rice. I looked at the Pork with rice dish( Number 23 I think)
The photo looked great
The end product was not great
I got deep fried bacon strips in oil older than time itself.
The side dish of rice was cold and tasted as thought it was boiled in swamp water.
On the up side when I got a drink from the fridge the male at the reception desk had the courtesy to look up from his phoe and remind me where the straws were. ( Not wanting to offer a glass or ice...)
Not a good meal or experience.

Worst dinner of my life. Pathetic, pathetic !!
I love chilly but the chef here doesn't seem to be sure about how to use his spices. We ordered four dishes and three of them had heaps of the same spice....white pepper. Seriously?
Moreover they don't accept eftpos and d food isn't worth all the cash for the kind of disappointment it is to the palate.
Avoid this assault on your senses !

Authentic, cheap. Went there with my two Chinese friends the other day for dinner and it was good! My friends said it was pretty Authentic and the food sold were pretty reasonably priced (especially the lunch menu). If you do go, just go for the sze chuan specialty of mala food (numbing spice), it is really good! Would come back if I have any cravings for sze chuan food.
