Review Yang's Dumpling - Perth

I’ve been to Yang’s Dumplings a handful of times. Always enjoy the food here. It is usually not too busy so it’s a good spot if you want quick service. My favourites are the Pan Fried Pork Dumplings and the Fried Bun & Condensed Milk (Mantou).

Had a lovely dinner here the other night l. Friendly staff. Clean premises. Good covid measures in place. Food was beautiful. Portions were generous and pricing was fair. Definitely recommend Yangs!

The beef dumplings are so so good!! It quickly became one of our favourite restaurants to have a meal when we’re around the area. Best dumplings we’ve had in Perth. The brisket noodles are good too but sometimes the meat is very fatty so it’s a hit and miss for us.

The dumplings are HOT and will burn your tongue if not consumed properly. (tear a hole in it for the heat to escape.) That aside, I overall enjoyed eating here. The dumplings taste nice, but the pork and vegetable ones taste as if they were 99% veg and 1% pork. Flavor imbalance I'm not exactly pleased with. The soup noodles are alright, but their meatballs are very salty. BBQ pork noodles aren't as authentic imo. Still nice though. I come here often. Good service of satisfactory speed.

I have no idea why this place doesn't have a higher rating on Google! The dandan noodles were flavourful. Also had the pork dumplings with peanut sauce. The wrapper had a nice texture and was cooked perfectly. I'll definitely be returning to try more items on the menu.

This is a new go to place for quick dumpling fix. Settle for the delicious dumplings and skip the noodles or rice

Noodles were good, pan friend pork drunk kings were okay. Braised beefs wasn’t as soft as I would have liked. Overall an okay meal.

I come here often when I am at uni and have always loved the food! The dumplings are amazing and made in store, which you can see them being made. So cool! Friendly staff too

Love this place. Even I have to wait for my dumpling around 15mins. But you know what it is worth to wait. Here is only place in Perth, I feel I am in china right now.

The dumplings were good but service needed lots of improvement. We had to wait very long for the foods to come and the staff looked very busy with the delivery and in house orders. Place looked dirty-  I saw cleaning sprays next to the sauces :(, made me thing twice before reaching the chilli oil. The sauces bottles were also very sticky.

I don’t know if it’s called bok choy delight but it was a portion of bok choy and pork steamed dumplings- the meat had gone off. My wife, who is 21 weeks pregnant with a very touch and go pregnancy- one which we thought we had lost on 2 occasions, had tried these dumplings before I had a chance to. Our 4 year old refused to eat them. We thought it was because the colour was green but I found out why. The pork was off and not just turning either. It had been off for a while. We had heard that this place was not great but decided to give it a go as they may have just got some reviewer in a bad mood. We had 3 other dishes besides including their signature dish - the fried dumplings. Those were very tasty indeed. I know sometimes mistakes happen but it would have to happen to the one pregnant lady who is having the pregnancy from hell as regards the child’s viability. Anyway we rang and the offered us a discount for next time. Truth be told - I’m not sure there will be a next time. That’s not to sound dramatic but a gut feeling. I’m giving them 2 stars just simply because of the potential risk to our unborn child. I know they weren’t to know that my wife is pregnant but they are in charge of the quality of the food that leaves their restaurant

The establishment was a typical seat yourself type Asian diner, but nice and clean. The food is cheap and satisfying, you can tell everything is hand made. The employees are friendly and checked on our table a few times but they also gave us someone else's food and spilled something on our table. I would go there again but don't expect too much. Also dumplings are mostly pork.

Stunning food, comfortable service attitude. Let me feel the friendly attitude and service from the waiter during the busy day. Warmly recommend pork buns and pan fried dumplings!

I ordered two serves of their steamed dumplings and pork chop. The foods were absolutely delicious and the service was very sweet. You can find everything you want here including plenty of rice dishes, noodle dishes and also amazing pan fried buns and dumplings. We definitely come back!

Delicious dumplings for lunch @yangsdumplingwa in Waterford. Stirred noodles with mustard and shredded pork; Slow braised pork belly and rice; Steamed Pork dumplings (xiao long baos); Deep fried chicken nuggets; Pan fried pork buns; and Spring onion pancake. Absolutely enjoyed the mustard and shredded pork noodles, steamed pork dumplings and the pan fried pork dumplings. The pork dumplings (steamed and fried) was beautifully encased with soup (juices from the pork) in the dumpling skins. Just Yummm. Definitely coming back for more!!

My friend and I ordered the pork dumplings and noodles. The noodles were way too salty! Would not recommend and did not enjoy them and the portion was small for the price you pay. The pork dumplings however were very nice and had good flavour. Would only order the dumplings next time I come here.

For 13 dollars you get 5 pieces of pork belly with your rice and some of the pieces were tiny; the spicy beef noodles were drenched in chilli oil that just tasted off. Just feel like the restaurant did not care about the taste of their food.<br/>The dumplings were supposed to be great however the meat tasted off, when I say off, I mean it’s off. The vegetable dumplings were ok, but the pork one, we had to take a bite and leave the dumplings there. <br/>Also why drench rice with sauce you cook the pork belly in? To make up for the fact there is only like 5 pieces of small pork belly? It may not look it but under the thin layer of white rice every single grain of rice was soaked in that sauce which made the food so salty and hard to eat. <br/>Won’t return again. <br/><br/>

Really amazing buns! Same taste as in China, fresh and juicy. Me and my husband went there every week and the new spicy shrimp buns are so yummy! Friendly customer service and clean environment. Well done!

Yang's Dumpling is located at Waterford Plaza, Karawara. I first found out about it through Uber Eats when I craved dumplings at night. I ordered the Chef's Recommendation of 3 pieces Pan Fried Pork Buns and 3 Pieces Pan Fried Vegetable and Pork Buns. The Chef's Recommendation menu is also available at the restaurant.

Tasty food, but super salty. Service is very poor. They have plenty of staff, but everything is self service.<br/><br/>They also gave my order to someone else. When I asked one of their waitress to check, she said it will be out shortly and it normally takes 20 minutes to cook. I checked my docket and saw that I placed my order 35 minutes ago. Spoke to the manager and said I wanted a refund if they forgot my order. She asked if I wanted to have it take away. I said I didn't want to wait anymore. Saw 3 staff behind the kitchen look confused as to the whereabouts of my order. 30 seconds later I received my dumplings. I suspect they gave us someone else's dish just like they did mine.<br/><br/>I won't be going back.

Dumplings are definitely fresh made , juicy and the soup inside was Hot need to be very careful when you bite into it , we ordered, xiao long bao, the signature dumplings, wonton soup, cold tofu and preserved egg, cucumber pickle,kelp and the Tasty spring onion pancake which we all ( adults and Kids) love so much , theres one thing that i dont find it right , the menu said Kelp but when it came out it was japanese marinates seaweed , thats was the only dissapoinment , will be back for sure

Lovely place. For once it wasn't crowded out so I tried it with a friend. The dumplings were huge and very flavourful and the wait staff were friendly. Definitely coming here again!

Authentic delicious shanghainese dumplings. Tasty and hand-made just like the original store in Shanghai. <br/><br/>The "Pan fried pork bun" is a must get! Soft on the top, crispy fried bottom. Inside is stuffed with meat, veggies and a lot of piping hot soup, so be careful! The best way to eat it, is to flip it on the side, nibble a bite and let the steam out.

Yang's Dumpling is a dumpling chain originated from Shanghai that has taken over Master Dumplings in Waterford Plaza. I finally had the chance to visit the place and unfortunately, I am not excited about it 😐. One thing I noticed was that all of our food came out quickly within 3-7 mins (freshly fried/steamed dumplings would take much longer), but not piping hot so I could only assume that the more popular items were pre-cooked to speed up service 😔. Clever idea but the willingness to sacrifice quality didn't sit well with me.<br/><br/>Pan fried buns can be an acquired taste as many people are in two minds about the thicker skin. I personally really like Yang's dough 😍, it's thick enough to ensure the buns don't burst while being cooked, but not too thick that it would turn chewy and doughy. The buns themselves are massive, crispy on the outside and contain yummy soup inside 🤤! I enjoy the veggie & pork ones much more than pork-only, they are juicier and more flavoursome in general. The pork-only buns are a little stronger in soy sauce and that's not necessarily my thing.<br/><br/>As much as I love Yang's sheng jian bao, their pan fried dumplings are not my favourite even though the filling is quite good 😶. I don't particularly enjoy this thicker and doughier version, as they tend to retain oil and fill you up for no good reason (and they did exactly that). There's nothing special about the steamed pork dumplings either 🤷. They are clearly hand-made but the pleating is clumsy and skin is not thin enough, with filling being pretty average and lacklustre. I also don't rate them chilli wonton very highly, they aren't spicy at all and the addition of peanut sauce is strange 😌. It's too sweet for my liking and I can barely taste the filling because of the domineering peanut sauce.

I went to Yangs for the first time last month after moving in locally and have been a total 5 times now, 2 to dine in and 3 for takeaway. I had the Beef Curry Soup and 6 wanton and have had variations of that since, fried dumplings and the mini dumplings with chicken soup. The food each time has been yummy and the service great and friendly.  I think I've become addicted to their Beef Curry Soup. Those on a budget can get a great feed for $5.80 with the soup and 6 mini wanton. If you have to wait a little while, blame me, I've told my friends, family and radio listeners how good it is. I've seen some poor reviews and can only think I've been lucky 5 times in a row :o) First time I went I watched as they prepped the wantons out front and you could see the produce and methods were top shelf. I have gained zero advantage for this glowing review and pay full price like you. Get some Yangs into yerself! tony

We waited for a long time for the pan fried bun and had to ask about the missing dish. In the end when we received the dish it was cold. Wonton was extremely chewy not well cooked or made. Soup was watery. <br/><br/>Quite disappointed, was looking forward to the meal

Very fast but the dough was extremely thick- at times it felt like I was eating a cake. Other times the fried dumplings were so hard to chew that it hurt my jaw from chewing so hard. Hopefully it improves

Good shanghai dumplings. The pan fried ones were pretty good too. I really like the simple way the tofu dish is prepared and their spring onion pancake. I've been back twice and decided to give it 3 stars rating because the quality of the dumplings and pancake isn't consistent. And it's minimum $20 for card transactions.
