The best pie I’ve ever had was at this place. The pastry chef is something to behold. He knows how to create magic fluffy pastry. Everything in this shop is top notch

Byron's Vanilla Slice Blog

With my final day up in far North Queensland we decided to drive north to Port Douglas. I’d read a little while ago about a newly opened bakery cafe opening in town, selling excellent vanilla slices and with links back to Melbourne. I seized the opportunity to branch off with my sleeping daughter in the pram and had a micro-moment to myself. I ordered up and sat alone to devour the items as pictured.
These guys make the best coffee in Port Douglas by far. Staff are very friendly. Only place I can see in town that’s trying to be at least a bit “cool” too.
Highly recommend! Everything was so fresh and delicious, we came here twice in the two days we had in Port Douglas! The smashed avo and coral trout & prawn pie (pictured) were to die for! Coffee and service were also amazing!
Very friendly staff, good quality food. Pies are to die for, good coffee. Reasonable prices. This was our daily lunch spot for our week away
Very friendly staff, great coffee and food. Come here most days on our week stay at PD. Highly recommend. Great location in the main street district.
The is the cafe/bakery that Port Douglas needed. Amazing food. Freshly made salads, fruit salad, etc. great for lunches and snacks! Also friendly staffs
Lovely friendly service. We had take away coffee the last few mornings and it’s been our fav so far in the area. The freshly baked croissant was Devine!
Service is so extremely welcoming and friendly! If you're early enough, they have a sampling of the brownies and freshly baked goods of the day! (Today it was the cinnamon bun) For the price, size, and quality, their croissants triumph the day. A large normal croissant is only $4!! The goodness of a chocolate croissant, which is smaller in size, is also priced the same (the almond croissant is extended to $6.50 which is reasonable for the size and amount you receive) A large slice of fudge brownie costs only $4/5, so delicious and includes segments of macadamia. Their daily changing salads are priced at $9, slightly pricier compared to their freshly baked pastries. The avocado sandwich with feta, fennel and dill was a lovely meal- a thick slice of multigrain sourdough with generously sized ripe avocado.
Their meat pies and sausage rolls have a wonderful buttery flaky pastry with real meat inside! The meat pie has chunky beef segments and both are largely portioned for just $6/7! The mixed berry pastry was quite good, nothing too special- but their new banana and custard pastry is an absolute stunner of a dish. Extremely well sized for the price you are paying and a new combination, unlike your normal Danish pastry.
We ate here several times as a family throughout our stay in PD. The menu is well considered, full of flavour and I enjoyed every bite. The best pies and sausage rolls I have ever had 👌🤤. Whether is was the coffee, breakfast, lunch or sweets, this place is amazing. The staff are super friendly too.
