We arrived at Foxeys Hangout without expectation and left very impressed. The casual dining room overlooks rolling hills and orchards. The venue includes outdoor seating that would be magnificent on a warm day. They only cater for groups up to 4 and don't accept reservations - so arrive early. The kitchen is part of the dining room and is only separated by open shelf benches. The pleasant aromas of the cooking permeated the venue but it was a bit smokey when we visited. The menu is simple and highlights seasonal local produce. If you choose the chefs selection (I highly recommend this option), the heavier courses are interspersed with a lighter course which lends to a very pleasant balance. Each course is simple with a fine focus on heroing the wonderful fresh ingredients. Dessert options include some cheeses including a double cream cheese with fine sliced apple that was to die for. A good selection of local estate wines are available by the glass at very reasonable prices and with the option to buy a bottle or two to take home. The service is casual, friendly and professional. Highly recommend a visit to Foxeys Hangout.

One of the best place and best wine I had in the Peninsula. The ambiance is incredible, the property is not meant to cater to a very large number of customers; which is good, as you can enjoy your peaceful and quiet place. I’m happy that we chose this place to kick off our 1st anniversary weekend! The food is delicious. I thought the servings weren’t quite enough for us but when we finished everything we felt satisfied. (The review is based on February 20, 2021 visit)

this was the perfect break away! they serve up really good wine and a menu that turns out to be a very awesome degustation that is affordable! you can order a wine flight (ur choice of white, red, or sparkling) and u can hand pick which dishes you want OR go for the chefs selection where u basically get a bit of everything - well worth the money! and well worth the experience! it was a really great value for money and everything was perfect! the mushroom sausage rolls were to die for! take note that they only take a max group size of 4! and it gets busy REAL quick so get in early!!!!!!!
