For both food and ambience, you need look no further than hummingbird. From the moment you walk in before the giant fireplace and smooth 60's grooves, you know you're in a good place. We got the three course banquet and we were blown away with every new and exciting dish brought before us. Even for just the amazing portions of food alone. We ended in a total food coma.
Stumbled upon this place by chance. Can't give a full review as I only had afternoon tea there. Nice selection of herbal teas (go the vanilla red chai), delicious raw nut based cakes and friendly staff. Our pet Matilda also delighted in the free doggie snacks.
Great ambience ! Friendly service ! Fresh food and healthy cooking ! Expect delays in service which helps to savour the surroundings whilst you wait ! Recommend for a quiet Sunday lunch ! Owner was friendly enough to light a fire in the garden for us which gave us a reason to hang around a bit more for a coffee !

Still on a high from an amazing afternoon with the team at Harvest Garden making pasta from scratch! It was really eye opening to learn about bio dynamic gardening and being aware of the balance of nature and how you really are what you eat based on the nourishment the land that you live on gives you. It's so important to eat seasonally and think of the Eco system first before adding chemicals to the growing of food. Thank you for a lovely afternoon Neil, Scotty & Chef Nathan!! Such great lads and we will cherish our new cooking skills and olive oil!
Excellent place with beautiful food, honest prices and very friendly service. The grounds are beautiful, very lush and green. Will keep coming back here and highly recommend it!
Well this place is just adorable. It is a place I have driven by numerous times and always thought it was just a conference center (perhaps new signage would be helpful?) It is right opposite Red Hill Market.
I took my grandparents and husband here for Saturday lunch, the road down to the restaurant is pretty rough and we have a SUV, I wouldn't like to tackle this in a smaller car.
The restaurant itself is so quaint and lovely, fresh cut flowers in vases on the table and the wait staff were just so friendly. We had the duck, barramundi and wallaby all of which were delicious. Can I just say the duck was slightly too salty for my liking and I LOVE salt but otherwise the dishes were fresh and super tasty. The portions were not huge but enough for a meal.
I did think the garden salad was ridiculously small for $11 and served on a plate so super hard to get/share. The tasting platter was also pretty expensive for $21 it was just some bread, small amount of fetta, teeny tiny amount of olives and some crackers.
Much to my husbands delight they had fresh scones on the day which he said were delicious and we also shared a sorbet which was WAY to sweet we couldn't eat it.
This place is a must if you want a cosy, cute and delicious lunch when a lot of restaurants down on the peninsula are oh so fancy this was a lovely surprise :-)
Give it a try when you are down that way and you will be pleasantly surprised.
This is a must visit if you're in the area. We had a relaxing long lunch here on one of the outdoor tables. You can also grab a wine and picnic rig and laze on the grass. For lunch, we had the three course for $58 per person. Local produce is used, most grown on the property. Quail entree was yum, barramundi main was delish....and i tried the wallaby main - my first time eating wallaby and it was quite good. Chips (more like wedges) were crunchy and tasty. The refreshing sorbet dessert was perfect for the hot weather. Service was very friendly and down to earth. We'll definately be back.
Delicious lunch overlooking a beautiful garden watching the kookaburra's feed. The menu offers beautiful fresh produce and the staff are all very friendly and make you feel most welcome. I'd thoroughly recommend and will certainly be back next time.
This is hands down my favourite place to eat. The service is great, the food is out of this world, and the ambiance is very relaxing. They cater for many different diets as well. We visit whenever we are down the Mornington Peninsula.
Real, authentic food with an awesome atmosphere. We wanted go for a little lunch adventure and landed ourselves at Humminbird. How glad I am that we did! They have this homely, farm style setting with an amazing garden where they grow all their own produce! Log fire, great wine, great company and great food! We'll be back!:-)
