A family catch up, a romantic date or hangouts with friends - Montalto is the perfect place in the area.
The views are spectacular and the food were amazing!
We had a range of starters, mains and a cheese platter for dessert, and we loved them all.
Beautifully cooked and presented - we will definitely come back again for more!
We enjoyed a really great wine tasting here with an experienced host who even let us taste a top shelf Pinot noir that wasn’t on the list. The tasting fees are quite steep - $10 per tasting to try about half a dozen wines, though this is waived if you purchase wine. Lunch was brilliant, we went for the more causal dining option (they also have a fine dining restaurant) and what a setting and view! It was gorgeous sitting in the window looking out over the vines and even on a chilly Winter it was toasty warm due to well-placed heaters. Obviously the wine list is well-rounded and we knew what we liked from having done the tastings, I went for a tasty Pinot noir. We order prosciutto with buffalo mozzarella and rocket which was absolutely delicious, as was the roasted and pickled beetroot dish. A pine mushroom pizza with a delicious garlicky flavour was also a standout dish. This visit to Montalto was a highlight of the weekend. We will definitely be back.
Montalto is a gorgeous place to eat at and take visitors as you can walk around and check out their sculpture garden too.
Their pizzas are pretty good. They have a limited selection on their menu to choose from which makes it a lot easier to decide which dishes to try. Their slow roast lamb shoulder was super tender and great to share.
Perfect lazy lunch in the middle of peninsula. We tried their lamb shoulder and tomato salad. We really enjoyed every bite. Their olives are so delicate and increase your tastebuds as starter. Totally recommended!
We had a lovely lunch at Montalto restaurant. View was great and our table was just next to the kitchen. Staff was so friendly and helpful too. We really like the market fish and dry aged duck. Food were well presented and even the dessert was fabulous too! We really did enjoy our time there!
So many fork drop moments!!! Everything was flavoursome and melted in my mouth. Absolutely delicious. Ambience was beautiful as well. Be sure to go during the day. Will definitely be returning.
A delightful dining experience. Beautiful setting overlooking vineyards and sculpture garden, sleek modern dining space.
The food shines. Degustation menu is superb- highlights being pork belly and delicious chocolate. Generous t bone steak a surprising addition the the degustation. Duck dish (no longer on degustation was delicious too)
Service was good although our waiter lacked a little knowledge, would have lost 0.5 but Zomato doesn’t do half marks any more!
Highly recommended
Starting off with the entrees we had the fresh oysters and lamb tartare which was divine. We loved the duck, it was perfectly cooked and flavoursome. The fish was a little over cooked but the purée made up for it. Would come back again.
I came here for lunch as a surprise for my birthday. What a wonderful experience it was. The food & wine selection was magnificent and to top it off afterwards we had complimentary wine tasting.
Definitely recommend and can’t wait to return next time!
Located in Red Hill, amongst the Mornington Peninsula wine region, is a beautiful winery called Montalto Vineyard and Olive Grove. On the day of our visit, we were booked in for a lovely lunch. We started with a glass of 2016 Montalto Estate Pinot Noir, as selecting from the menu took a little longer due to the beautiful scenery and the dynamic kitchen team preparing for the lunch sitting.
