Came here a few times, the foods at this place did not disappoint. My only criticism would be the wait time for each dish, even for just the entree. I liked the use of the touchscreen menu, will be coming back.
Great to find this Gem last night. Went with a guest of mine for a late dinner. Superb food, I like the iPad ordering system. Good vibe and acoustics, not too loud and comfortable. Glad I found this place and bonus that bill was $50 for two including a beer each ���
The variety downstairs has reduced dramatically. The old favourites are there and the yakitori is still flavoursome, but a lot of the sushi options are no longer available, even some of the yakitori options like giblets, bacon wrap asparagus are gone.

Awesome staff, easy to order food and drink with the ipad. The yakitori was all delicious, would love to go back again and try more stuff! Recommend the sumiyaki set
Very friendly staff and speedy service. Love their iPad ordering system, you can order one at a time whenever you want without the need to ask for the waitress.
We sat down at 6:55pm Friday and waitress immediately show us the happy hour offer which ends 7pm. We ordered 2 beers at half price, nice.
Ordered the charcoal grilled skewers, have to say best in Melbourne, so yum!
Since it was a cold night, we ordered 2 udon pots. It came out super hot, huge udon portions, warms us up immediately and super tasty.
Certainly a place will be back.
A must try on Bridge Road. Amazing food! You must try the roasted genmaicha ice cream, so good and balanced. The grills are amazing too- ox tongue, & sampler skewers! Sukiyaki bowl is comforting on such a cold winter’s night. Perfect service. Came here with ZGold , great value even without the ZG offer.
Lovely Japanese bar + restaurant.
What I love : the food, ambience and lovely waitress + waiters . Price was extremely reasonable with the Zomato gold app of buy one free one.

Very good experience at Maedaya. Nice people and good food. We have been here already 2 times in one week. With Zomato Gold we paid less than $50 for two people and got a nice dinner!
Japanese tapas at its best. Good for small groups as the restaurant gets really packed and they don’t have much seatings. The food was delicious and staff were very friendly and helpful.
Really excellent traditional Japanese cuisine for under$20. Free green tea. The staff were warm and friendly.

🍩Lizzie enjoyed: I love how they have the bar downstairs - the vibes are awesome and there’s also a massive table upstairs for a group. They have a lot of sashimi and heaps of yakitori to choose from. I’m so obsessed!
🍅Lizzie did not enjoy: theres limited seating so you have to make sure you book or come at a reasonable time.
