Decided to go here with a friend as we had heard good things! We enjoyed a range of delicious French inspired dishes that we ordered. For mains I enjoyed the butter gnocchi which was very delicious, and the rhubarb soufflé had to be a favourite! Recommend visiting for a special night out!

We came here for our friend’s birthday on a weekday and enjoyed the lovely relaxed atmosphere. We enjoyed the spanner crab tortellini but the other two entrees were not memorable. The mains however, of the lamb rump and duck confit were delicious!

Incredible value for exceptionally delicious food. We had the 3 course lunch with a glass of wine for $40. Everything was beautifully cooked and seasoned with well balanced and intense flavor. The service was excellent and the dining room was intimate and relaxed. A wonderful experience and we will definitely be back.

So came here for a mid week dinner catch up and was welcomed in and felt like I was in someone dining room. Waiters were attentive and nice. Restaurant has a nice neighborhood cozy feel even in the bathroom.
We had spanned crab tortellini for entree to share followed by the monkfish prawn pie with basil mash and cremebrulee, chocolate gateau and pavlova for dessert. Everything was lovely but in particular the fish pie. Was exactly what we needed with it being such a cold wet night outside. Will definitely come back to try more of the menu. Definitely could taste the French cooking style but had a nice modern take which was refreshing.

Been here a few times now ... the $28 Friday lunch is great value ... as part of set I chose the beef .. had pate canapés and cheese. Staff and service has consistently been good... being a workday didn’t go overboard with the wine..

One of Melbourne's best restaurants. The food is consistently great each time we visit Noir. The service is friendly and attentive. Highly recommend the pork belly and the gnocchi. This place is perfect for romantic dinners

We attended a small evening function at Noir. The food was wonderful. We started with oysters and pate canapés. Then followed a salad of yellow fin tuna and a spanner crab tortellini - delicious. The main course was an excellently presented Gippsland duck dish - very tender and tasty. We finished with a very tasty mix of cheeses. The staff provided very good service and the ambience was very pleasant.

Loved Noir. We both chose the duck which did not disappoint and was probably the best duck I’ve ever tasted. Cooked perfectly with delicious accompaniments. We chose snow peas and potatoes that were crispy and delicious. The servings were most generous which left little room for dessert so we chose the lemon tart petit fours-perfect. The staff were delightful and helpful with selecting a matching wine. We’ll definitely be back.

Thank you Noir for such a memorable Mother's day lunch. My mother in law loved everything being served. And knowing she enjoyed herself, I couldn't ask for more. Service was excellent. That pinot grit from Alsace was so delicious and great value for money. I'll be coming back for sure.

Amazing! Can not fault the food. My husband wanted to run away with the chef. Although I was so so full after 2 courses I managed to soldier on & get through 4 & it was worth it

Been to a few French restaurant before, this one is quite special. Chicken liver parfait with fig chutney and toasted brioche - a quite unique combination. Unlike most of restaurants serving with cracker, brioche is a great idea. The sweet and sourness of fig sauce plus the crispiness and tenderness from brioche bring this course to a new level. The two mains - confit duck and crayfish are at a high level as well. Great dining experience, highly recommended.

It’s been a while since we’ve been back to Noir in Richmond some 8 years in fact. Our original experience was more of a fine dining restaurant and our most recent visit in July of 2022 would suggest that like all things this place has changed too. My new connection with Noir was one of a more relaxed dining experience. Where the staff were welcoming and the food was more bistro like in style but was great all round. We had three guests and it pretty much came to $100 a head. Which is fairly reasonable. So if you haven’t been in a while and want a more relaxed dining experience check them out on Swan Street in Richmond.

Enjoyed the lively and relaxed atmosphere. Food was very good and not cliches of French fare which we appreciated thoroughly. The desert, the orange and chocolate gateau, was exquisite and heavenly. By far the highlight of the night. Go for the tasting menu. It is outstanding value at 80 bucks. Will definitely recommend and return.

Came here for some French food. Love the beef tartare, the chicken liver parfait and the duck confit. My friends love the scallop, I'm not a big fan though. Same with the calamari. I tried out the panisse but didn't really like it. For dessert, we had orange and chocolate gateau and raspberry and white chocolate souffle. I would say the gateau has a better flavour palette for me.

It’s sad that google has only five stars rating. I will definitely rate more stars for Noir if I can. We have celebrated my Mom’s birthday here and it was a hundred percent fantastic experience. Nice service nice people, tasty food super fresh and locates on a good spot. We have ordered the tasting courses. The olive oil for the bread has garlic added which makes it differed from what I normally eat. We were discussing why the butter doesn’t melt. And I guess they got daily fresh delivery directly after the butter has been made? The entrée plate was special, their oysters are flavored with champagne and it’s the first time we have an oyster in such flavor it emphasises the fresh of oyster. The puff was salty and creamy very French. And we also love the liver. The salad tastes super organic. Their choice of inventory is pretty smart. And I have always been missing of the French style duck. I was once impressed by the duck and have been looking for a good restaurant that can do the duck well. The duck here was juicy and crispy absolutely what I love. Btw I forgot to take the photo of lobster dumplings. Just go and try, highly recommend.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

The food looks great and taste great too. Atmosphere s really good. They seem to be short of staff. Constantly chasing their tale. There are lots of great food in the area as well. Overall i think it is a little too pricy for what it is. It s too much to pay $350 for 2 including 2 drinks. Apart from that it s all tumbs ups.

Superb French dining in an intimate setting. Great steak tartare, confit duck and crème brûlée. Drinks list pairs nicely. Appreciated a high end beer choice too from wildflower
