My parents were visiting from WA last night and we thought we'd check this place out... Absolutely outstanding. The food was on point highly recommend the cape grim short rib and the zucchini doughnuts (I think that's what they were called). Brilliant wine and cocktail list. The service was perfect. Cannot rave about this place more. I'll be back many many times from now on. If I could rate a 6 out of 5 stars I would.

Thanks so much to Mitch & all the wonderful staff at Holla, the perfect venue for our daughters christening/1st birthday. No request was too much trouble, food was delicious and the place just looks amazing with a really nice vibe. We'll be back for brunch

We were lucky enough to dine in Holla for brunch on the last day before Melbourne headed back into isolation again. Holla we’re operating on a reduced menu which you access via the yum QR code. Their all day breakfast menu had some seriously tempting dishes but interestingly not a single sweet brunch dish on offer (sweet is definitely out thing) so we both opted for a burger. My burger, the Holla beef burger came with a mountain of cheese and was a real classic with a patty cooked medium with pink in the centre. KD’s Korean fried chicken burger was a spicy affair with a asian slaw. We shared some pre isolation fries.

I ordered the berry smoothie and this was one pretty drink. Holla was doing everything right with social distancing and hopefully are doing a bumper take away trade in the coming weeks.

We were invited back to Holla to try the autumn/winter menu. Though it appears deceptively small it’s actually quite huge on the inside with plenty of greenery makes you feel like you are sitting outside in a garden, but a warm garden and not the horrid winter weather outside today.

The menu still had quite a few favourites from the last visit but we noticed quite a few swaps which we focused on today (see my previous review below which outlines some of the great dishes still on the menu from our last visit)

We ordered the house roasted coffees to start, long black came with a side of soda water to cleans the palate.

Today we started with the Quinoa, chia & pistachio milk porridge with coffee banana jam, poached figs, toasted almonds, it was simply delicious, a lovely soft quinoa texture was sensationally paired with the crunch of the toasted almonds and the sweetness of the pistachio milk and then when adding some coffee and banana jam to the mix, bam the flavours explode.

We also ordered the Holla hippie “burger”, which contained a herbed crumbed haloumi, pickled beets, rhubarb jam, mixed greens, kasundi relish on a brioche roll with a side of the divinely herbed & salted hand-cut chips and creamy aioli that wasnt to heavy on the garlic, just perfect for the brunch palate. The haloumi had crunch and the rhubarb jam was a sweet surprise. The beetroot added quite a strong pickle taste to this dish.

For dessert we shared the Croffle s’mores which was a croissant waffles w raspberry pistachio parfait, strawberry curd, fresh berries, pistachio crumb and rose syrup. OMG OMG OMG how have I never had a croffle before, quite frankly the waffle croissants is my new favourite way to eat a croissant. The delicate strawberry and rose flavours of this dish was simply sublime and the varying textures of crunchy pistachio crumb to soft and fluffy parfait combined with the croissant pastry have sent my tastebuds to heaven. Definitely my dish of the day.

Service was yet again incredible and we really enjoyed our second visit. Thanks so much for having us.

Original Review Oct-17: omitting dishes no longer available

I’ve seen Holla as we whip through Richmond on our occasional drive into town. Always intrigued by somewhere new I was very happy to be invited to try their new spring/summer menu. It felt like a greenery with hanging ferns and creeping plants and an industrial high roof with opaque perspex roofing to filter in the sunshine. It was quite a long space, with smaller dining options at front and outside and caged areas to house larger groups.

Right away I knew we were in for a treat when I read the breakfast cocktail and boozy milkshakes menu. I ordered my first cocktail before 11 🍹I chose the Lychee Mojito with my favourite white liquor (Gin). This was strong and very very drinkable. The Nutella Frangelico boozey shake also tasted mighty fine. I suspect you would never know there was alcohol in there until you went to get up and go and your legs didn’t work.

Our table shared a variety of breakfast dishes, the standouts for me were the DIY smashed avocado and poached eggs breakfast. This came with a handy muddler to pulverise some of that pent up aggression on the poor avocado, feta and chilli combo. This dish was smashing good fun (pun intended).

There was a well portioned salmon salad, impressively tender lamb salad and a very clever play on Pork Benedict, in oozey burger style. This was visually impressive but I didn’t get to try it. Seriously seriously oozing 😋

I also tried the “Seoul Food” BBQ Pork tacos which was perhaps my least favourite dish. I found the pork quite dry unfortunately and the corn tortillas also a little dry (brittle).

Service was prompt and staff were very good at dealing with several large groups as well as a fully packed cafe. Would definitely come back on my own back as this cafe is up there with the best that Richmond dining has to offer.

I went to Holla with the family and the service was friendly and welcoming.

My iced latte was delicious, in fact it was one of the best I've had to date.

My scrambled eggs on sourdough toast was delicious. The eggs were fluffy, and creamy. The only criticism that I have is that the eggs were salty, and all afternoon I was really thirsty.

My partner was also really thirsty all afternoon too, so maybe their was too much salt in both dishes.

But overall this was a good visit.

My partner and I had brunch here on the weekend. I haven’t been here for some time so it was nice to be invited to go back and try their autumn/winter menu.

The service was really friendly and we were looked after by a lovely waitress.

For brunch I had the Cumin Roasted Cauliflower and Chickpea fritters which were as delicious as it sounds. The fritter were dense but full of flavour. The egg was poached perfectly, and although there was a lot of food I didn’t feel heavy afterwards.

My coffee was good and I ordered a vegetarian matcha green smoothie which was full of flavour and actually made me feel good! Haha or maybe that was wishful thinking?

My partner had the puréed peas w snow peas, yes we were on a green theme and we were both equally impressed with this dish. Everything was so fresh and tasty.

This was such a treat, and I’m looking forward to visiting this cafe again shortly. Yummo!

Came here for bottomless brunch on Sunday with my family. For $59 the brunch is a bargain! Includes 2 hours of cocktails & a meal. I enjoyed the Holla hippie burger (hello haloumi!) which was delish. My family all commented that their food was great - a fan favourite was the avo on toast!

Would 100% recommend a visit to Holla! Firstly, the interior design is stunning and quite creative. It's definitely instagrammable.  I found the staff to be very friendly and accomodating.

I ordered the Tumeric Latte to start which was full of flavour and a beautiful golden colour. I had the Sweet Potato & Cashew Fritters for brunch which were absolutely delicious. The fritters were so tasty and fluffy on the inside, yet super crunchy and fried on the outside. The puree, almond dukkah and pesto all worked together well with the poached eggs and fritters.

I couldn't get enough of this dish, and it left me full for hours! Will definitely be back to have it again and I do have my eyes on the Croffle S'mores also.

Thanks Holla!

I am a sucker for a restaurant flooded with flora and this place was exactly that. A jungle surrounds you the moment you step through the door.

The menu was unique (which is becoming increasingly challenging in Melbourne) and the coffee was top-drawer.

I'd happily recommend as well as bring friends here.

Didn't get the fries so tater review update will have to wait until next visit

Came here for brunch and was greeting with lovely staff! The interior of the place is also so inviting and lovely!
The staff were super accomodating as we requested a table swap which we were granted with with no worries! The menu is super creative and features some very interesting and new dishes including the croffle smores which we ordered and the truffle mushrooms as well! The dishes that we ordered were absolutely delicious! would definitely come back!

I visited this Richmond cafe for the first time last week and was not disappointed.

The service was impeccable with staff knowledgeable about dietary and all aspects of the menu.

I tried the Croffle S’mores: Croissant waffles w/ raspberry pistachio parfait,
strawberry curd, fresh berries, pistachio crumb & rose syrup (V) 21.5. The Croffle was light and crunchy in texture that worked harmoniously with the berries and pistachios. The dish was well balanced and all flavors worked well together to create a stellar dish.

For truffle lovers, the Truffle Roasted Mushrooms is a must-try. This dish includes whipped ricotta, shaved walnuts, crispy fried enokis, poached eggs on multigrain (V, GFA) 21.5.

This cafe also hosts Bottomless Brunch and function packages.

If you're feeling hungry and close to Victoria Street Richmond head over to HOLLA FOOD & DRINK for a delectable feast.

Lush greenery creates a great atmosphere. Thai chicken burger was delicious, chicken was juicy and slaw balanced out the dish. Holla piggy comes together well with the combination of flavours

I brought a group of friends for the bottomless brunch for my birthday and we all had the best time.
I’d eaten here before so I knew the food was great, the staff friendly and that the space was beautiful but I went out on a limb for the bottomless brunch package.
This is the only bottomless brunch I’ve attended where the bar staff make proper, quality drinks and cocktails as part of the package. You’re able to order from the full menu too, rather than a specific package menu. These two things are what sets Holla apart from other bottomless brunches, in my opinion.
Since it’s only a 2 hour window, we all wanted to get our money’s worth and to be honest I was concerned that the staff would stifle our drink ordering but that wasn’t the case at all. They were strict on being double parked but that’s fair enough and we respected their RSA. Good times had and money well spent.
Would brunch and booze again.

I have lived near this place for around a year, never entered this one. The exterior looks like a coffee roasting place, didn't give any vibe of a place for a great meal and ambience. Boy oh boy I was wrong. This is a gem hidden in plain sight, the interior is so spacious and I was told they can seat 130 ppl, just wow. Staffs are friendly and the vibe is awesome.

Beautiful place, lovely staff and yummy food. Magic coffee was on point, croffle s’mores and wonderful ambience. We called to book but they weren’t busy so had a nice corner to ourselves (with 3 young kids). Definitely would come back for the bottomless brunch (1 main meal and free flow drinks).

I came across this place when I was walking in Richmond, and was drawn into the place as it was spacious and had a good vibe. I ordered the DIY Smashed avocado - Avocado, herbs, lime, toasted multigrain ($17).. and it's exactly how it's mentioned, you smash your own avo then have them with the bread! I loved the idea and just found it so refreshing! They have great coffee as well. Definitely coming back again for their bottomless brunch as it's everyday, and not just on weekends :)

Delightful Local Gem I dined here for my first time today and ordered the breakfast board with an iced chai; both were reasonably priced. The breakfast board’s standouts to me were the vine-ripened tomatoes and delicious hummus. The yoghurt on the side was a perfect sweet treat after the rest of the items. The iced chai was a spiced blend with the right amount of intensity. The overall experience was made very pleasant by the dutiful attention of the server/barista. He checked that everything was good and was very accommodating. All in all, I’m really impressed with this cafe and hope to visit again.

Have done a number of bottomless brunches and this was definitely up there! The food was tasty, it came out fast and they were happy to swap salmon with bacon for me. The bartender Milly was attentive and always noticed when we were ready for our next drink. Would definitely recommend!
