Really great place to eat. Very welcoming and friendly. Extremely helpful with food ordering considering we came in with 3 different food requirements...gluten free, vegetarian and vegan. Got to eat a Parma which I haven't had in such a long time being unable to eat gluten and it was delicious. Really enjoyed and would highly recommend people try this place. Will definitely visit again

We had a delicious breakfast. The staff were wonderful and were able to cater for my strict gf diet and ensure everything was safe for me to eat with my Coeliac disease. I would highly recommend. We didn't have to wait long at all for our meals. But I am quite happy to wait when I know they are taking care with the meal prep in the kitchen whilst catering for everyone's needs. When you have special dietary requirements you really appreciate the efforts the wait staff and kitchen staff make.

I am obsessed with St James, a paleo inspired cafe with the best coffee in Richmond! I always opt for one of their breakfast salads with salmon. I love the paleo bread and how fresh the food tastes. There is so much flavour in each dish and variety on the menu.

I also love the banana pancakes and waffles (special) which are gluten and dairy free!

It is an amazing cafe to visit!

What you should order: shakshuka and coffee!

Review: This cafe is so value for money - if you have @entertainmentau voucher, you score a 25% off. I would also come back even without the discount, which speaks volumes about this place!

Plenty of customers kept streaming in this beautiful and busy cafe, and we were fortunate to immediately get a table. Location is probably a factor - this cafe is located along Bridge Road which is home to plenty of gyms! Some memorable moments from our brunch here!
1. ☕️ I am always a fan of places that roast their own coffee beans, and St James is one of them. Usually good brunch comes at the expense of average coffee, but that does not apply here. Was v happy with my flat white!
2. 🍳 the shakshuka egg was legit for many reasons. Main factor - I wasn’t charged extra to add chorizo because this version comes with lamb meatballs. The shakshuka itself was amazing - wish they gave more bread to soak up the delicious sauce. My partner told me this was one of the better shakshukas he’s had in a while and I must agree
3. 🦀 I went with one of their specials - a soft shell crab croissant Benedict. Couldn’t fault the freshness of the soft shell crab, and the portions were generous too. Thought the green hollandaise sauce was a bit more watery but otherwise I enjoyed the dish!

Summary - good brunch option, great vibes and efficient service!

HIGHLY IMPRESSED with St James!!! first reason to be so impressed, is the variety of gluten free options on the menu! secondly, the service is amazing, fast and friendly!

my friend and i tried some yummy dishes! i had the middle eastern cauliflower fritters and we both tried the berry and pistachio hotcake! the fritters were so crunchy and flavoursome, i really enjoyed them to start with! then i moved onto the hotcake and wow!!!! it was the most AMAZING gluten free pistachio and berry hotcake EVER! i never get to order and indulge on anything like this when i eat out...but thanks to St James, i was able to enjoy this fluffy goodie and i didn’t feel guilty

thanks for a lovely experience , i’ll be back for some more delicious meals!!

Came here today for lunch. We had the coffee , fresh leaves chai , wagu burger and the fried chicken taco . Coffee was fantastic! Food was delicious. I especially love the waffle fries that comes with the burger. Taco tasted freshly made and I love the fried chicken.

Immediate attention by the St James folk and calm understanding when I absent-mindedly tipped a full coffee cup over the table, the floor and of course myself. No trouble or angst on their part in cleaning up, and a fresh coffee “on the house”. Most appreciated by this (somewhat embarrassed) customer.

St James is a lovely cafe located on the busy Bridge Road in Richmond. The venue is spacious and chic, with a peaceful ambience. It was a nice day so we opted to sit outside. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and made us feel welcome.

There is quite a variety of choices on the menu, but what really stood out to me was how their dishes were accommodating to many different dietary requirements - gluten free, lactose free, vegan, and in particular, paleo. I don’t really see many cafes that offer paleo options on the menu so it was really nice to see this here!

For drinks, my friend had an almond latte while I had in-house ice tea. It was very refreshing, light, and the perfect accompaniment to my brunch.

I decided to go for the Blue Swimmer Crab Omelette, and I’m so glad I did! The omelette was actually baked, so it had a different texture to your regular omelette. There was plenty of shaved parmesan on top, yet it did not taste heavy. In fact, it was a very light dish, which I really enjoyed.

The Pancakes were amazing! The banana pancakes were so moist, and full of banana flavour, and the banana ice cream was very refreshing. It was not overly sweet, and you can definitely taste the freshness. Even after having most of this dish, I did not feel sickly or too full at all. Not only was is delicious, but also very pretty too!

Overall, we had a wonderful experience at St James. The food is very light so you won’t feel too full afterwards either. However, if you’re a big eater that also means you need to order more.

Thanks for having us!

Taking advantage of the beautiful sunny Thursday this week, I attended St. James in Richmond. A large cafe with a industrial interior, filled in with exposed brick walls and stylish furniture. It’s large window front allowed the natural light to really liven up the entire space.

From the minute I walked in, the staff were extremely accommodating and lovely to chat to. I started the brunch off with an almond milk latte, which was lovely and creamy. The coffee was smooth and rich. While my brunch partner went for the refreshing iced tea beverage.

Looking through the menu, there was a large variety of choice. I also noticed that most of the dishes can be adapted to be Paleo, Gluten free or any other dietary need, if they weren’t already. I think this is a unique and poignant selling point for this cafe. It made it extremely easy to eat any dish on their delicious menu.

My brunch partner and I decided to go for three dishes. I, personally, went for the Terracotta Eggs, which were baked in Napoli sauce, chorizo, garden vegetables and organic goats feta. I got this with Gluten free toast on the side instead of the sourdough. It was one of the best egg dishes I have ever tasted. The vegetables were extremely fresh, packed with flavour and not too heavy on the stomach. These were balanced out perfectly with the cheese and chorizo. I also loved the fresh parsley and dill that was placed on top, as it really elevated the freshness of the dish.

My partner decided on the Blue swimmer crab omelette. This came with asian herbs, caramelised onion, aged parmesan and a stunning house made chilli jam. She could not stop taking about how good it was. It was a refreshing change from the usual omelette and was presented with perfect execution.

Together we shared the Pancakes. I am still stunned that these were paleo and gluten free. They tasted too good. The banana pancakes were served with coconut yogurt, banana ice - cream, compote berries, roasted almonds, fresh strawberries and a organic maple syrup. They had the perfect balance of sweet and fresh elements. The freshness of the strawberries complemented the sweet berry compote to create a dish full of flavour notes and depth. I would highly recommend these. They are not your average pancakes, I promise.

Overall, I was presented with amazing customer service from all staff and had a wonderful experience in this beautifully decorated cafe on the busy bridge road in Richmond. Do check it out if you have the chance. I for sure, will be returning soon.

📝: What’s your plan for the long weekend? Head down to St.James for some awesome food!

Located down Bridge Road in Richmond, St. James is that go-to-cafe when you’re thinking of something healthy but tasty.

But to be honest, even with such impressive selection of delicious healthy dishes, what impressed me most was the service and the people.

From even before I walked in, the moment I was greeted by the waiter, food was served, and right up until I said goodbye to the chefs and staffs, they took care of me and welcomed me with friendly smiles.

Never have I felt so welcomed and at home in a cafe as I was in St.James before 🥰.

❤️: Be it you’re already an all-out healthy person or not, relax because St.James’ got it all covered. Sit back and enjoy your guilt-free brunch for all you care.

Emphasizing on eating nutritional unprocessed foods, the menu focuses on healthy and paleo inspired dishes.

I had my usual favorite, Acai Power Bowl—antioxidant-loaded coconut protein, acai sorbet served with almond milk, berries, banana, kiwi, toasted coconut flakes, crunchy granola (and pretty flowers 🌸). Loved the taste that makes me think of a sweet refreshing mixed berry smoothie ❤️.

Then I got another menu I wouldn’t have normally gone for—Vegetarian Burger 🍔. And OMG it was delish! The chef even came out to serve it by himself 😂 A healthy alternative out there for veggie lovers out there!

A great healthy paleo cafe can be found on Bridge Road in Richmond! I was wowed by the amazing service received from the moment I walked through the front door. We ordered the eggplant chips, pulled pork benedict and blue swimmer crab omelette.

The eggplant chips were super crunchy as described on their menu and went lovely with the aioli dip provided. The omelette was bursting with blue swimmer crab which took us by surprise as we know some places can be quite stingy with seafood in dishes. Only downside of this dish was it’s presentation. Didn’t resemble anything we had seen ok their instagram accounts. Lastly we tried the pulled pork benedict, the hollandaise was smooth and silky and not overpowering, the free range poached egg on top was absolutely devine especially accompanied with the sweet potato.

Really nice food and huge portions! I had the cauliflower fritters and it was delicious. Such a good vegetarian option and they had a few others that I was considering too. Coffee was bomb, service was prompt and friendly, and I think it was pretty good value too. We sat inside but there’s outdoor seating too. It’s law has busy when we walk past and now we know why!

Hands down the best coffee and service in Richmond! The team at St J are always super friendly and make you feel like the cafe is an extension of your own home. Must try dishes are the chilli scrambled eggs (someone bottle and sell that chilli jam ASAP!) and the banana pancakes if you’re craving something sweet. The outdoor tables are perfect for people watching along a bustling Bridge Rd, whilst enjoying a cheeky breakfast mimosa. Thank you Jag, Angela, Yuri and Arpan.. Bridge Rd wouldn’t be the same without you guys 💕
