Wow wow wow. The first thing to hit my mouth was a piece of pork crackle on Touchwood's Eggs Benedict and it was perfect. (1030am, too early for crackle? NEVER!) Touchwood have brought together flavours with so much thought and care, you feel it in every bite. Its a must visit (and revisit). Everything we ordered was amazing. The service was professional, relaxed and friendly. This propells Touchwood up breaching into the rhelms of flawlessness for good service and great food. I haven't brunched like this for a long time. My mates and I shared their - Eggs Benedict (pork belly for the protein), - Wholemeal waffles - Cheesy croquettes - and a salad from their rotational specials menu (from memory pumpkin, quinoa, rocket, pomegranate and broadbeans) I'm not even fan of kale (garnished on the croquettes) but ate it all up. Speaks volumes when a venue can make you enjoy an ingredient you don't fancy. Everything on each plate just came together, complimented and enhanced. Well done and thank you so much to the crew at Touchwood. See you all again soon!

This is probably the best Cafe/Breakfast joint on bridge road. Great Coffee, fast friendly service and great food. We have been coming here for a long time and the only thing that stops me coming more regularly is the lack of menu change or specials. Get the Chefs excited and don't be complacent with your breakfast menu like many other places here in Melbourne. A must do when in Richmond!

I was so lucky to win a competition with Touchwood. The prize was some great cookies to help with the coronacoaster.

I am really enjoying the Covit references, i.e. "Ive finished netflix" "What day is it?" "I miss you a latte" "Namastay in bed" ... and my personal favorite "Tim in Melbourne" yay hahaha.

When picking up my cookies I grabbed a coffee. My strong skinny latte was perfect, there was some good milk froth, the coffee had a nice earthy flavour and I really liked it.

I am really looking forward to dining in again soon.

Previous review - January 2020.
Time flies. Gosh I haven’t been here in almost 4 years wow!! The service from the front of house was really good and we were seated immediately despite this place bursting w ppl.

I started w a great strong almond latte and my partner had a “Summer Spritz” which was espresso, tonic and a twist of lime. Mmnn hahaha. My coffee was was excellent hahaha

Food wise I ordered the Kaiser Fleish Benedict, a Swiss dish w thick cut bacon, lettuce, heirloom tomato, jalapeño relish, 2 perfectly cooked poached eggs, & apple cider hollandaise on sourdough.

This dish was one of the best bennys that I’ve had in such a long time. The eggs were amazing, the thick cut bacon, moorish and the apple cider hollandaise perfect! Wow I’ve missed this kind of cooking.

My partner had the Breakfast Bruschetta w basil pesto, smoked Mozzarella, heirloom tomato, spinach, onion, pomegranate, mixed seeds, & a poached egg on sourdough toast.

This dish was another winner. A much healthier dish than mine, and full of fresh flavours. This was good but personally I had the winning dish hahaha yay!!!

This place was packed and it’s not hard to see why. See you again Touchwood. This place is a must visit.

Good food, busy but great service. Nice coffee, and a reasonable place to visit on Bridge road for brunch. They have an outdoor garden section too. Worth a visit.

Touchwood Cafe in Richmond is a modern industrial chic style cafe that is light, spacious and perfect for brunch.  They serve great coffee and offer an eclectic menu with a fantastic selection of dishes that are deliciously fresh, innovative and generous in portion size. The drinks menu at Touchwood Cafe is as long as their brunch menu, giving you the choice of various coffee types, cold drip, filter etc, in addition to a variety of teas, smoothies, cold press juices and Mork hot chocolate.

Definitely cannot fault this place! Was by far one of the best nourish bowls I have ever had. The taste was amazing, egg cooked perfectly and I was left feeling satisfied.

Coffee was absolutely delish and am a lover of good coffee art so was super excited when a swan appeared 😄

Service was really great; meals came out super fast!

Will def be recommending this one to friends in the area!

There’s a reason why Touchwood in Richmond is always filled to the brim. With its consistently good food, great coffee and ability to split the bill (hallelujah!) it’s the perfect spot for a weekend brunch. Their special of carrot and zucchini fritters served with minted yogurt, smoked salmon and poached eggs is probably one of the best breakfasts in Melbourne (big call, I know!). With flavoursome fritters that are moist on the inside, but still crispy on the outside, it’s the perfect combination of fresh, fried, creamy and crunchy.

Do you Touchwood?

I am sure that you have heard or said this word. And I am pretty sure you knocked on the wood trying to make all the bad luck go away.

The origin behind doing ‘touch wood’ is related to the fact people believed that the trees were the home of fairies, spirits, dryads and many other mystical creatures! So, when someone touched wood, they would awaken and release the wonderful wood fairies and bring all the good luck.

I actually visited Touchwood on a very rainy day and to my surprise on a very busy time too!

I arrived around 12pm on a Sunday, which it is expected to be peak hour, of course due since the weather was quite miserable and it had been raining all morning, I wasn’t expecting to see such a packed and filled with life venue like I did. The venue is located in Richmond and it was so busy that even though it was raining and quite windy, all the seats outside were taken!

Since I hadn’t visit this place before I could only assume that it was a good one! And to be honest I did see on Zomato some opinions about it, but since most reviews are purely focused it the food (versus the place itself) I was certainly surprised by the popularity of this place.

The interior is vast with a very high celling and it’s nicely decorated with some plants and ornaments. The barista station and counter is huge! And all the staff was so welcoming and attentive!

There weren’t many tables available but we managed to find one behind the counter and after asking for meal recommendations and if some meals could be done allergen friendly, here’s what we had:

Five Grain Porridge – this meal isn’t made dairy free usually but after checking with the kitchen they told me it could me done by switching just a few ingredients. It a word it was a pure delight. In its true sense of the word. I am a huge oatmeal lover and specially during winter who doesn’t love a warm and cosy porridge? It was cooked and blended in almond milk and the consistency was just perfect - quite thick but still creamy and just how I enjoy eating porridge the most! The taste wasn’t very sweet but it paired well with the toppings and their natural sweetness. They removed the butter crumble and the berry mascarpone and it came with some fresh strawberries and blueberries, some freeze dried fruits and some pistachios which were crunchy and eye catching. Personally, and like I mentioned to one of the cooks as a friendly suggestion at the end, I think having a slight salty touch to it would bring even more flavour and would work really well here but like the cook mentioned to me (and with reason!) it would be important to notice if the taste didn’t end up too strong ‘stealing’ the focus of the other ingredients. (Side note: love love love these little brainstorming moments from people that clearly have the same passions to create and be innovative with food!). It also came with a berry compote in the middle that was really pleasant to eat. Overall, portion size was great and even though I would personally liked to have a few more fruits, I really loved the fact that it came quite warm and that it was quite different than most porridges found in the winter menus from other venues.

House Smoked Salmon Bagel – my plus one asked for this meal and it came with a nicely presented open bagel, topped with whipped feta, avocado, capers, radish, dill & pickled red onion. The smoked salmon looked very appetising too. The bagel is of a good size although I think it would leave some people still hungry and I think that have some greens on the side could be an interesting option!

Pink Latte - it was such a wonderful drink, with not a very strong or overpowering taste. Beetroot powders are always very challenging because you don’t want people to taste that ‘earth’ like taste and here the flavour was such nailed perfectly. Blended with soy milk and a touch of honey is looked not only beautiful but I would certainly recommend everyone to try!

Almond latte - a classic and delicious latte made with almond milk and with a creamy foam. Latte art was good too! I can see why so many people stop by for their usual coffee!

It was a warm cosy moment on such a miserable day and definitely the highlight of the day! The food came quickly and I was even asked for feedback at the end, (which only shows how much the staff wants to make the customers happy!) as the cooks had experimented with my meal to make it DF. Of course that one final suggestion to have more DF/Vegan meals - I felt a bit limited in regards to the options available and although the staff and cooks are quite flexible and happy to adapt the meals, there are only a few fixed items on the menu allergen friendly. For instance the Wonut (waffle x donut) sounded amazing and so did the bircher with raspberry compote, citrus vanilla yoghurt & mixed seeds! I would certainly love to visit again!

I had lunch at Touchwood with a couple of work friends and really enjoyed it!
I ordered the Nourish Bowl and was very impressed. It was delicious and filling without making me feel sluggish. The flavours were great and all of the ingredients went together beautifully.
There are so many great sounding dishes on the menu and I’d definitely go back to try something else, or maybe even have another nourish bowl.

I love this spot out in Richmond! 👌🏽 great vibe, great decor and best of all, good quality food! 😉 my personal go-to is always their waffles! ☝🏽crunchy on the outside and soft and tasty on the inside with a delicious peanut butter marscopone on top, you can't go past it! 🥜 This is another dish where smart and simple trump the attempt to put too many flavours together and confuse the palate 😎 fresh, tasty and and a decent serve 😁

☑ 7/10 for value for money! 😁 for $18, i would have loved two whole waffles, but that could just be me needing to walk out with a food coma to be satisfied 🤔😂 all in all they're a good spot for brunch and coffee with a spacious indoor and outdoor dining area 🙌🏽

.
💡 TIP - The chilli scrambled eggs was a damn good option! 👏🏽 with a whole heap of tasty chilli scrambled eggs, it's easily the hunger tamer 🤤

Such a great place. Plenty of space inside and out and the food and drink is delicious. What sets it above others would have to be the brekky board where you get granola, eggs and bacon, avocado etc and an OJ all for around $20. Staff are friendly and it appears to always be open which is nice. Love this place.

I am tired. I have been to Kmart with two rowdy and Hangry kids and it was only 9 am in the morning. Desperate to sit and shut kiddies traps, but not desperate enough for terrible food court food in Vic Gardens, I googled what’s there to eat in Richmond. Touchwood popped up like a beacon of hope and although Bridge Road screams “hard to find a park”, I braved the thought of having my kids walked more than five meters and got to Touchwood.

Thank goodness I read the place is quite big, as it’s already starting to get full. I looked at the specials and I could see blueberry buttermilk waffles. I fought hard and resisted, knowing I had to set a good example for my kids and order healthy food. I got a breakfast board with fried eggs (instead of poached) for Hangry Piglet and Hangry Dumpling , and settled on a Nourish Bowl for myself.

Food came fairly quickly (thank goodness because the kids are saying they are hungry in that whingey Voice), and what we got was, AMAZING. The breakfast board consists of two slabs of thick, beautifully cooked bacon, smashed avo w feta, two fried eggs, a small bottle of orange juice and this crazy out of the world museli with yoghurt.

My nourish bowl was even better, it has sweet potato, broccolini, freekah, nuts, edamame, feta - it’s healthy but it’s also super delicious. Hangry Dumpling actually decided he wanted my food instead, that’s how yummy it was.

Service was great as well. I ordered babycinos with no marshmallows or choc powder (continuing the healthy trend) and the coffee man came out and quickly flash the 100s and 1000s at me to make sure I don’t want that either. It shows that they really care about making sure that the customers are happy and I really appreciate that. 💕💯

We went as a massive group of 10 to Touchwood. They have a lot of space! And a big round table which was perfect for us. We hadn’t booked however they accommodated is very well.

The food was really tasty! Everybody enjoyed what they had and the portion sizes were great!

The menu has so many great options from healthy grain salads to baos to cheeky waffles. There is something for everyone!

Would definitely go back.

5 stars to the decent food, great coffee, friendly staff & comfy environment. The Kyoto Scrambled Eggs is on spot. Bagel is delicious, the chili eggs goes really well along with the rich flavor of bonito flakes. A spacious, delightful place to work on your laptop at the non-peak hours :) It’s worth visiting !

Great combination of flavors! Coffee was great, fast service even though they were busy. The only thing that annoyed me a bit was that We sat in the backyard and there was a strange smell that wasn’t really pleasant while having breakfast. But will recommend it and will come back for sure :)

Probably one of a few cafes that I always return to visit. Food and drinks are always on point and good. Staff are friendly and helpful. Only recommendation I have is to put table numbers so it's easier to pay the bill instead of describing to the cashier where we were sitting and what we ate.

The steak sandwich they make here is stupidly good. Not even lying when I say it's probably the best sammich I have eaten in Melbs. The meat is divine and so tender and whatever magical unicorn dust they sprinkle on the relish is beyond me. Mind blowing. So pumped I found this joint.

Best breakfast waffles ever! They say you eat with your eyes. The meals were a delight to look at, and they were a delight to taste as well. There was nothing boring on my plate. The colours were vibrant and the flavours were fresh and comforting. My husband had a delicious salmon and avocado breakfast bagel. So vibrant. And of course it started with great coffee.

Delicious food and friendly hospitality! Was here for an event and there was probably about 30-40 attendees... surprised how quick the staff was at getting everyone their drinks and food. The sushi bowl was yummy. Would definitely recommend considering come here if you have an event.
