Really chilled atmosphere. Friendly, accomodating staff. $17 steak night tonight. So delicious and quick to the table. Would recommend the blue cheese sauce. And a very decent house red served during happy hour
I come to this pub almost every Tuesday night for trivia, it’s the best pub i’ve been to, the veggie burgers are so delicious and the staff are so friendly. i love it!
first-timers tonight and we loved it! the staff were so up-beat and welcoming, and the food was delicious (and fast!). on top of that, their respect for social distancing was flawless! we will be back without question. thanks, guys!!
A nice suburban pub, with a pretty good roof top, the Mt View is a friendly hotel with great views of the city. The staff are really lovely and welcoming, and the bar is well stocked with beers, wine and some yummy cocktails.
Split over several levels it's great for groups and families; or just a nice spot to chill over an icy beer and a nice glass of wine. The Mt View is in a great location on Bridge Road, and it's relaxed atmosphere makes me keen to go back again soon.
We changed it up for this years grand final and decided to come into Mt View Hotel in Richmond instead of our usual suburban pub. Clearly in the heart of all the action the Mt View had a lot going for it for a footy fan including a huge rooftop with screen and a outside street party with bbq and additional screens. We booked our table in the downstairs dining area late July so had a really great table with plenty of viewing screens. Food was typical pub fare including burger, schnitzels, pies and fired calamari but all really well cooked. Chips were universal across all the meals we ate and were beer battered and all agreed some of the best. A really good option for watching the footy.
We’ve been here on trivia nights as well which are a lot of fun.
Three reasons why the Mt View is exceptional. 1) the view up top is simply stunning. 2) their devotion to beer is great, more than just the standard VB or Carlton. 3) Exceptional Parma with several exciting variants - I had the buffalo Parma and it was 10/10
A group of us enjoyed sitting in the sun on the rooftop with views over both the city and Richmond.
We had arancini, calamari and othet small dishes.
The calamari was beautifully tender and the aranci delicious. All the other small plates were really tasty, too.
Came here on a Sunday afternoon enjoyed it a lot. Had a few small dishes and a few jugs of cocktails. Live music while watching the sunset is the best!
Sports bar on Bridge. Heaps of dining areas spread over 3 levels with the top floor open courtyard ‘mountain view’ being the most popular.
Good selection of wine/beer etc and heaps of food to select from. Daily specials available. Your usual pizzas, pastas, steaks, parmas and things to share.
Service has always been good - bar staff friendly and attentive.
My partner and I called in here for a couple of drinks yesterday. The rooftop bar has excellent views over the city, Richmond and beyond. This would be a great place for NYE.
The craft beers were cold and the service good. I had a Cage Road summer ale which was alright.
There were lots of little areas to sit which I really liked so ppl are sitting on top of eachother.
Mmnn bring on summer haha
Can't speak for downstairs but the roof top bar had a great view over the city and was a relaxing place to have some beers with friends. There's a bar on the rooftop, so you don't have to travel far to get your beer and they have eftpos facilities.
One of the great rooftop bars in Melbourne, overlooking the MCG and entire sporting precinct. Great ambience. Food is fairly good. Popular with the pre footy crowds.
Came here on a Thursday steak night at around 8:30pm and the place was buzzing. No need to book, walked in and there were plenty of tables available.
For $22 the steak is an unbelievable great deal. The portion is very generous, I’d say somewhere between 300-350gm. Comes with a choice of three sauces, I chose mushroom sauce and is accompanied by broccolini and cut potatoes. Steak might have been a little on the tough side (ordered medium rare) but at this price you can’t have it all.
Overall very happy and will include this in my weekly rotational pub meals.
Book before hand to get a table upstairs with a nice view west over the city. I have been twice with spectacular sunset each time. Upstairs is quite open so it can be a bit cold. Above average pub meals.
Huge multi story location in a great position close to the MCG and enough screens to be one of the better sports bars in Melbourne. Food ordinary and beer choice ordinary but they don't need to do anything special here to still be a good choice for sports. Rooftop. Rather minimal when you remove the smoking section from the equation but a good choice for smokers who like a rooftop beer.
Tom, Mitch and the bar staff from Mt View are ABSOLUTE legends! Got talking about espresso martinis and they took the time to give me tips on how to make them better at home. Wrote me a list and even gave me some brewed coffee! Thank you legends! They turned out very delicious!
Best Parmi I've ever had. Juicy chicken in a crispy panko crumb, epic thick cut chips and perfect salad. Awesome rooftop bar and warm inviting ground level. Will definitely be back!!
Nice rooftop and awesome views! They had a new menu, with a few vegan options which felt nice for a pub.
We enjoyed our meal but lots of smokers around where we ate so probably won't return as downstairs inside was nothing exciting.
I will be back, I was expecting a slapped together lunch. Well was I pleasantly surprised, the menu showed quality and practical pub food, with options for everyone. While a nice bottle of wine was easily purchased, happy times.
I tasted the Vegi parma, hmmm I might order this next time. My calamari was not covered in cheap batter, but nicely prepared, soft and yummy 😋.
On top of all that, the food came to our table. Then they checked with us that all meals had arrived - how nice was that. I have been at expensive restaurant that left people sitting without their full order.
I suppose I should mention that all the footy fans could see a TV and the scores.
Yes you need to book.
