Review Cheerio - Richmond

Greg Fletcher
Cheerio has a really solid menu that is easily the cheapest in the area (without compromising taste). Everything here is tasty and there are no bad choices. If you're struggling to decide on where to go and want a filling breakfast at a great price, then you need to come here. I love the breakfast burger since the price is low and the quality of the egg, bun, bacon and sauce is so, so tasty. It's my favourite breakfast burger since it combines these ingredients without drenching the bun and making it soggy. The coffee is one of the best in the Richmond area if you get milk coffee. The cafe space is very small but it gives it a cute intimacy about it and doesn't harm the dining experience.

Worth every minute of the drive to get here from Surrey hills, we do it now on the regular. The food simply can’t be beat for flavour and value for money and the staff have a great friendly vibe.

We ordered the lemon and poppyseed waffles and Ruben sandwich with fries. Both were good. Seven seeds coffee is always good when made by folks who care like these guys

Away from the hustle and bustle of Swan St is a little spot of peace with Seven Seeds coffee and creative food offerings. I'm told the sticky ham hock is much-loved here but couldn't go past the chipotle cacao mince on toast, layered with shredded manchego cheese and a poached egg. It was served with a cheerful "ready to eat?" I happily tucked into the dish, enjoying the different flavours, textures and the sensation of runny egg yolk bursting in my mouth. The dish caught the neighbours' attention and they were equally surprised by the combination of ingredients. Chirpy staff in a truly little place which seats maybe 15 people? This was a pleasant and satisfying accidental discovery.

Incredible coffee and food with a seasonal menu. Floor staff very friendly and patient even amongst the rush. I'd suggest arriving early as it only seats 20-30 people and seems to attract a lot of people.

Warm and cosy little spot with great coffee, super friendly service and hands down the best ham hock in town. The food at Cheerio has never disappointed me - aside from the sweet and savory sticky juicy ham hock my favourite is the Pastrami Reuben toastie which is packed full of flavour with a nice buttery crunch. Also LOVE the Green Juice here but it's not always on the menu!! The staff here are some of the friendliest, genuine and down to earth people as well. Definitely by far my favourite local!

This place is incredible, the service is great, the staff genuinely nice and the food is to die for. I usually eat my meals in 5 minutes but here I just have to savor it and take my time because I don't want it to end :'( Really an amazing yet simple place.

Delicious coffee. Cosy space. Food was amazing! Best café on my hunt of Melbourne cafés so far! Left feeling very cheer....io

Coffee is amazing! And I’m super fussy about my coffee.<br/>Very friendly and accommodating staff.<br/>Almond lattes are not easy to perfect, but this place managed to nail it! <br/><br/><br/><br/><br/>

Never disappoints Cheerio! Being a local in Richmond there is definitely a lot of competition but Cheerio is always on point. Whether it be the omelette, the chicken and chorizo sandwich or the fried chicken burger - the food is always amazing and the staff are very friendly! Great long blacks too! Thanks Jase and the team, keep it up!

This place is still a ripper after years of doing business and even after changing hands.  Went there after the Melbourne Marathon and all of Richmond was heaving!  Coffee was great and so was the food.  It was a little slow on the day but to be expected given how busy they were.  Keep it up guys!
Bluewaves12
Busy place, but it wasn't a long wait before we got in. I got an iced coffee and I wasn't too hungry so I went for the chicken and chorizo toastie, which was so good! Service was quick, and servers were friendly

Five weeks is far too long without a Melbourne brunch. I was seriously hanging out for one as there was nothing like it overseas where we’ve been. Cheerio is a great little place which deserves its high rating. It’s very plain and understated. Just a shopfront with a smallish Cheerio decal on the window. It’s all pretty vanilla inside as well. Lots of white on offer. Minimal features too. It doesn’t really matter when you’re serving food as coffee as good as what we had here this morning. Maybe that’s the point. Don’t worry about the surroundings, concentrate on the food and coffee. I had the avocado, tomato medley, basil, goats cheese etc with two eggs and bacon. What a gorgeous brunch dish. Beautifully put together, tasty from start to finish. I savored every single inspiring mouthful. It’d be a revolution where I’ve been. The world’s most beautiful woman had ham hock etc which she proclaimed as utterly exceptional with great authority. My special brew coffee had a depth of flavour that I’ve rarely encountered. It was absolutely outstanding. Service was slightly quirky here but good throughout. Cheerio is not perfect but I’ve given it a 5. A four would be too low given the quality of food and coffee on offer. Cheerio is a perfect candidate for a 4.5 but Zomato in its wisdom doesn’t offer that on this app. Very good place here. Recommended.

I don’t visit Richmond as much as I’d like, given the endless dining options in the area. I did manage to sneak in a quick brunch there with a few friends though, and we chose to dine at Cheerio, a little cafe located off the main road.

If you're in Richmond, consider yourself blessed. The place is teeming with quaint cafes you are so spoiled for choice. This place is tops although a bit small inside. I only say that because we have a toddler in tow and we need space to store his stroller. Still a 5/5 though. Highly recommend the chorizo breakfast. They are huge portions so do share if you are not a big eater.
JJ
I love this place. Delicious coffee as previously reviewed. But after pulling them up on their #shitsoyskills a number of times, here comes the review. I love you guys, but come on. Step it up.

A lovely little spot for a bite to eat and a coffee. I had the chicken and chorizo toastie and it was excellent and super delicious. The staff were very nice and accommodating even though it was busy!

Love this little coffee spot in Richmond my new go to before work.... Small understated venue with nice staff and consistent coffee... keep it up guys

Really cute cafe serving up simple delicious brunch ! The pancakes here were one of the best Ive had in a while... I cannot wait to come back

Had the ‘Mince on Toast’ from the special menu and a cappuccino. The cappuccino was quite flavourful without the milky taste; wasn’t a lot of foam on top but it was smooth and wasn’t watery. <br/><br/>The ‘Mince on Toast’ consisted of two piece of toast, a generous amount of their chipotle cacao mince, a poached egg, some grated cheese and ancho chilli salt. The mince was tender and meaty; it didn’t have any weird chewy bits in it. It was coated in flavour; nice and savoury with a touch of spice from the ancho chilli salt. The melted cheese added an additional layer of mild cheesy savouriness to the mince meat. The egg was nicely poached; much of the egg white has solidified but still soft and delicate, and the egg yolk was perfectly runny. Finally the toast tasted great with a hint of butter. Part of the top slice had a nice crunch but the bottom slice became too soggy for my liking. <br/><br/>Overall it was a decent meal; coffee was good and the ‘Mince on Toast’ wasn’t too salty and in fact the flavour was quite balanced, though I would have preferred some heat as well as a little bit more cheese to the dish. Having the toasts on the side would also retain its crunchiness.

Cute little cafe tucked-away in Richmond. Have only been here twice but both were very pleasant experiences. Scrambled eggs are beautifully done- fluffy, soft and creamy; a simple dish done so well. Great coffee as well. Would gladly recommend to anyone in the area.

Came here for weekend brunch. Ended up being cramped in a corner of the cafe practically sitting on top of another patron. Service was friendly but slow. The food was okay but too oily for my liking. We had the avocado and tomato on pumpkin bread and the quinoa and corn fritters. The verdict, I won’t be rushing back.

Went here for breakfast on Sunday, was able to be seated straight away. A small cosy establishment, a nice vibe! Ordered the eggs pull pork Benedict, a serious feed for $17. The ice coffee was refreshing $5.5. We had a young female waitress, lovely! A hidden gem worth a look and taste! Hint wear stretchy pants...

Cheerio is the best! A super unassuming tucked away little community cafe, that feels sort of simultaneously scuffed and polished- perfect. It's an intimate space full of friendly faced staff who are happy to chat if they have time, and nice spots to get comfy if you're solo. I love grabbing myself a coffee and a toastie, and tucking myself in on the communal table somewhere, or sitting outside. One of the greatest things here is that the menu changes, they run specials, AND they don't bang on an extra charge for coffee variations- such a nice sentiment! Old school awesome. Strong lattes come at me
PurplePasta
Excellent coffee - they brew 7 seeds here. We ordered the buttermilk pancakes which were soft, fluffy, fruity and nutty. Definitely order this if you are here!

Delicious breakfest in a cosy cafe. We had fritters and ham hock which was probanly the tastiest breaky in awhile. Only setback was service was a little slow as they were so busy.

First time here. Was nice humble, unpretentious vibe, lovely staff & great seven seeds coffee. I had the weekend mince special, which to my surprise was 0% greens. Despite this, the flavours of chipotle & cacao were lovely - probably great for a hangover. All the other food around me looked fab. Looking forward to coming back to try the famous ham hock

Easily accessible by train, this hidden gem, I can easily boast, has the best eggs benedic in the area. Not a long wait on food, coffee is just as speedy and always good service. Well done :)

Can't go wrong here guys - A+ food, friendly service and masterfully brewed coffee.<br/>This cosy little café has won me over.<br/>Try the great value toasties or the beautiful ham hock (Oh man, that ham hock!)<br/>Cheerio!

Minimal signposting makes this cafe a but tricky to find for the first time visitor. <br/><br/>Calling into this little cafe I was greeted w a big smile from a friendly Richmond supporter. What a nice greeting. <br/><br/>I had a piccolo latte which was excellent, thank you 😊<br/><br/>I had some freshly squeezed mandarin juice which was great, really tasty. <br/><br/>My poached eggs were cooked really well. The bacon was nice as was the sourdough toast although I would have liked the toast cooked some more. <br/><br/>This place was really busy pumping out coffees to the locals. A great way to spend a Sunday 😊

My boyfriend had the Reuben which he loved and my pancakes were quite good as well. Nevertheless I wouldn't give 5 points as they served us the coffee in paper cups and the place was freezing cold, so I would not recommend to visit in winter.
Sarah
I had high expectations after the great rating! My toast was covered in half a tub of butter and the other half must have been used with the mushrooms. What does everyone else order here that I should try?

🤩💫 Highly Recommend. <br/>Saturday 05.08.17 at 1.30pm. <br/>This small barely marketed cafe is a delight. <br/>Cheerful and upbeat staff. <br/>Pleasant coffee. <br/>Tasty food. I had the Sticky Ham Hock - the Asian herbs and chilli gave a very enjoyable meal.<br/>A cafe that can easily be missed - just a small "Cheerio" sign low down on its window.

I came here for Sunday brunch and it surprisingly wasn't as busy as I had expected.<br/><br/>I ordered the sticky ham hock and it was quite good, although the toast at the bottom quickly became soggy. The offering of asian herbs and black vinegar was pretty lacklustre (could barely taste or see either). <br/><br/>Also, the coffee here tends to be on the weaker side, so best to order a double shot if you like it a bit stronger.

SO GOOD! <br/>I've been thinking of their haloumi burger ever since it was delicious and had the perfect amount of everything and with a side of poached egg it was perfect. <br/>My partner had the breakfast burger which wasn't as spectacular as my burger. <br/>The guys behind the coffee machine were awesome. <br/>Definitely a place and dish I'd recommend.

Thoroughly enjoyed the ham hock and coffee. However when asked politely if they could heat up the bread of our fresh ham sandwich as my partner prefers it that way, we were met with a very strong "NO". Felt extremely uncomfortable the whole time we were there. They would not entertain or politely respond to a personal preference request. Would not return.

I would definitely recommend coming to cheerio. It's a small little cafe, good for small groups. Had the ham hock, the meat literally melts in the mouth. However, it could have been better if the eggs was a little more runny. Coffee was alright, nothing great about 7 seeds coffee beans. Would come again soon.

A friend came to Melbourne for a visit and we decided to try a cafe we'd never had before. It could have been a miss, but not this time. I ordered the day's special, Potato Hash and it was wonderful. I always go for a rosti or hash if it's on the menu and so far, this is one of the few that stands out. Staff were friendly and place was cozy. It was a Friday morning so the crowd was not overpowering. Will definitely revisit.

My girlfriend and I stumbled across this small, quaint cafe by accident, what a find! I ordered the Ham Hock Eggs Benedict which was really rich and full of flavour. Great coffee as well.

I discovered this place through someone I follow on Instagram. It seemed like a pretty decent cafe so we decided to give it a shot. The cafe is tucked away on a side street off Swan Street in Richmond. The place is actually quite small. It only fits maybe a maximum of 15-20 people which meant we did have to wait, but only about 10 minutes.

Cosy, warm and relaxed atmosphere. Nice coffee and good service. I had the eggs benedict which was covered with a juicy and flavourful ham hock, soft poached eggs and a nice hollandaise that was not too creamy or runny. The sourdough bread was very nice as well which I'd happily eat on it's own. We sat and chatted for a longtime and never felt rushed by the staff. Definitely a gem amongst all the cafes in Richmond.

Love this little cafe. Whilst it's tiny and only seats minimal customers we managed to get a table for 4 relatively quickly. The staff are friendly and the service was efficient. I ordered the plum buttermilk pancakes with plum semifreddo, meringue shards and plum syrup. The pancakes were super light and the semifreddo was beautiful. The meringue was nice but possibly made the dish almost too sweet. Next time I'm going to order the eggs benedict with an Asian twist.
KITCHFIT
What a cute and very unique little cafe. I love when a cafe can create its own "something special". Their take on Asian inspired breakfast dishes is surprising delicious. <br/>I had the "ham hock benedict-like breakfast" (forget the actual name) and it was very nice indeed!! Only thing is I think there was a little too much meat, and I'm a big meat eater. But hey, some people might like that.<br/>Coffee was really good to and the customer service was perfectly attentive.<br/>Thanks for a great experience :)

平常在外面比較常吃到的是美式的歐姆蛋, 但是Cheerio的卻是我愛的法式呀! 好軟嫩好滑的口感 內餡也超級香。而且菜單的價位也很親民。<br/><br/>I personally much prefer French-style omelettes more than American Style. And the one I had at Cheerio has definitely hit the spot! So fluffy and the fillings were so fragrant, really good texture and flavour. Compare to other brunch places it is quite budget friendly aswell.

I'm a Melbournite and we are spoiled with coffee choices but this coffee is by far the best coffee I've had in Melbourne to date. It made me stop and go wow and I made mention of it to the barista. Close to topping that was the food! I had the cacao mince and look forward to trying the rest of the menu!

Really lovely little cafe. Welcoming atmosphere with laid back but attentive staff. Pancakes were a well designed dish, undeniably tasty but a bit flat. They were better than the fritters, which I didn’t enjoy that much. Open to returning and trying something else :)<br/><br/>- 2nd visit 11/02/2018 -<br/>Had a new pancakes dish, this one was more simplistic but more flavourful, made with a better batter. The vegan sandwich looks plain but is perfect. Noticed this time that the seating arrangement maximises the small space so it’s all bit squashed together. Service was as personable as ever.

Mince on toast with flair<br/>Manchego and chili salt<br/>On simplicity<br/><br/>[If I could remember the precise ingredients I'd tell you, but there were poached eggs and a tasty mince involved so I'm automatically a fan]<br/>

Prob the best cafe in the Swan St Richmond region - coffee right up there and one of the great lunches going around, haloumi burger highly recommended.

GET THE BRIOCHE BURGER!!!! GET THE BRIOCHE BURGER!!!! GET THE BRIOCHE BURGER!!!! <br/>Seriously though it's my favourite breakfast burger ever. Ever.<br/>The coffee here is AMAZING if your a coffee person. If not<br/> they buy fresh fruit daily from the farmers markets and make glorious freshly squeezed juice. My favourite one is the purple one with ginger in it. It's like a purple ginger beer!!<br/>
DAMMIT JANET I LOVE FOOD
A delightful gem of a place that stood out not only because of the food, but also the terrific service. The staff were super friendly and we felt very welcome right from the get-go. The only downside about Cheerio is its tiny size and limited seating, so there may be a bit of a wait during peak times.
Chelsey Ramos
Came here for a quick bit to eat. As we walked in the barista was standing at the front counter so naturally I asked for a table! He didn't look up or even take his eyes off his phone. I found this extremely rude and very uninviting. First rule of customer service. YOU shouldn't BE ON YOUR PHONE! <br/><br/>Another waiter came up and took our coffee order and food orders. Coffee was really good thank god and the quinoa and zucchini fritters were really tasty. This cafe seems to be quite a known place to get coffee as all of a sudden people were piling in. I would of scored higher if not for the rude barista. Sorry guys

Little suburban cafe in street off Swan St with relaxed vibe, friendly staff and tasty food. Had the coconut pancakes and the Asian flavoured pork hock Benedict. Both tasty. Can see why locals would roll out of bed and down the road to this one.

I had the omelette with a Side of bacon. Was yum very fluffy and rich I couldn't finish it all. My husband had the hock ham with poached eggs and he said the ham was melt in the mouth amazing and worked well with the perfectly poached egg. We will def come back here if we are in the area.

Amazing brunch which made my day!!!<br/>I love the baked eggs a lot...creamy and strong taste<br/>The bread was crunchy and the combination just great!!

It’s funny sometimes when these visits don’t line up, and all of a sudden you have not tried a place years later, that is walking distance away. Cheerio is one such place. For this reason I’ve noticed consistently good reviews and high scores on formats like Zomato over that long period.<br/><br/>One reason cheerio is always full is that it’s tiny. So we were pleased to find a spot on the communal table for two on this particular morning.<br/><br/>The menu is quite diverse with the dishes you would expect, but often with twist; some Asian influences especially noticeable.

Have been here twice in the last two weeks and each time have been extremely impressed by a multiple of factors. Some people may look at the smaller size of the café as a major issue but for me this added an intimacy with the staff that meant you never felt forgotten or neglected. If you do come on a busier day I assure you is worth the wait. <br/><br/>Apart from the friendly staff the first thing that surprises you is the pricing of the menu, it felt like I was ordering brunch in 2003 - super cheap. I ordered the ham hock benedict (very very generous serving size) which at $16 blew me away. <br/><br/>The seven seeds coffee was fantastic, a definite draw card!<br/><br/>Overall this is my favourite café in Richmond by a long shot, highly recommended.
Breakfast_of_the_champion
I decided to indulge in the sticky ham hock dish, after reading some great reviews about it. It was beautiful. So meaty, soft, juicy and flavoursome. The eggs and hollandaise sauce provided a fatty element which helped tie the dish together and prevent it from being dry. Overall, really yummy and I'm glad I took the plunge and tried something different. Long black seven seeds coffee was nice. Smooth but slightly acidic for me.
Bjm
Coffee is always really solid. The sticky ham hock though was on another level. Up there as one of if not the best take on an Eggs Benedict I've had. Can recommend it very highly.
Jianierrrrrr
This cafe was smaller than I thought. Such a local gem for brunch and coffee. <br/>The coffee beans they use are from seven seeds. Coffee were good, nothing to complain about them.<br/>#sticky ham hock-very popular brunch item. There were lot of meat on the toast, seriously a lot! Sweet/ savory tender meat was juicy, little salty but total fine with me. Running egg yolk, special tamarind creamy sauce...such juicy egg Benedict~ but after finish half of it, started feeling little heavy, overall, it was great!<br/>#cheerio omelette-with snow pea, broad bean, sweet pea, spinach hiding inside the soft and fluffy egg omelette. The fontina cheese added more cheesy flavor to the omelette along with the creamy and soft center. Perfectly cooked omelette, delicious and light~

Cheerios in Richmond definitely has an air of cheerfulness. With tables out the front to accommodate man's best friends, and filled with regulars who know all of the wait staffs' names, this quaint little establishment definitely has a 'local' feel. It's  the little touches that sets this venue apart - including offering Aesop soup in the toilets which is always a big tick in my books. Cheerio's is also an ideal place to visit after a big night - within seconds of being seated, I was offered a berocca and was recommended just the breakfast to cure my hangover - the sticky ham hock with fresh Asian herbs, chili black vinegar, tamarind hollandaise and poached egg on sourdough toast - and boy it was good. The ham hock was tender and juicy, the hollandaise tangy and the overall dish was packed with flavour.

I came here for Sunday lunch. It's ver busy cafe. There was no vacancy inside. We only can sit outside. It's ver sunny, and the wind blows the leaves to our drinks and dishes. The food were delicious. I liked the pancakes a lot. It mixed with the coconut pieces and make it special. The coffee is standard.

This is a nice little cafe in Richmond. I didn't get any coffee so can't comment on that but the food was delicious. I'm a huge eggs benedict fan so when I saw they had sticky ham hock benedict, I had to try it. The dish was really delicious. Eggs perfect, bread was delicious and the ham hock was mouth watering. Highly recommend this place if you're in the Richmond area. Will be visiting again soon.
Steven Gu
Very cosy store with great food so far. Affordable price and best quality food. I enjoy every dish I had. Only the coffee is not that strong and tasty. Next time I will try something new. Highly recommended.

Recently discovered this little gem. Welcoming and friendly staff- delicious food- so far we have tried the fritters, lentil salad, pancakes and the winner of them all was the sticky ham hock which was to die for! We will keep going back again and again!

I love this little gem in Richmond. The menu offers a good range of sweet and savoury dishes. We ordered the hearty breakfast burger and the avocado and heirloom tomato dish with goats cheese - so damn PHRESH! I'll be coming back for sure :)

Lovely little cafe off the busy streets of Richmond. I had the breakfast burger and my friend had the BBQ brisket toastie. We were both happy with our choices. Yummy hot chocolate too

Was really hard to find this place as the sign is really small! We waited for about 30 mins for the table & I wasn't overall impressed by the food. I had coconut pancakes with mango- the flavours were great until I got to the mango inside which was hot (strange) and with the skin being still on the mango didn't taste right inside a pancake! Chai was also pretty average. But on the bright side the service was great and the guy looked after us really well at the start
Denny Patron
We thought this was just ok! Service was a bit strange, one guy didn't seem to want to take our order it was up to another guy (who was really nice)<br/>I had the omelette which was really good 8/10, however my girlfriend had the "avocado" dish which was 95% beetroot with about 3 bits avocado 1/10 for that sadly, I would give that a miss! Coffee and juice very good.

Visited this lovely cheerful cafe in Richmond on a busy Sunday morning. It was packed with regular diners but soon enough, we were ushered in onto the communal table. We ordered coffees to start, which were a delicious smooth Seven Seeds blend. Delightful. The all day menu has some nice variety including toasties and some dishes getting a special ‘Cheerio’ twist. I chose  the buttermilk pancakes which featured persimmon, banana caramel whip, macadamia nuts and maple syrup.

$3.80. <br/><br/>"YOU'VE NEVER HAD SEVEN SEEDS BEFORE?" - the staff asked, incredulously. "No, they don't have that in the South-East" this Whip admitted, feeling like a country bumkin.<br/><br/>How was? Fabulous, gorgeous. Fruity/complex but above all SMOOTH.<br/>YES, now we've tried SEVEN SEEDS, expertly made.<br/><br/>Lotsa regulars, with their regular orders, AND THE STAFF seem to KNOW BOTH.<br/><br/>Cheerio has the personal touch.<br/><br/>Average decibel 45dB. Quiet library.<br/>

I had the mushroom toastie, they cater for gf. Was quite a small cafe, seats weren't too comfortable. Great service though and food was good.

Came here with my friends and it was really busy as expected. The food were really good however the service was a bit of a let down hence the 3.5 rating. The waiter was really friendly however he took our order without writing it down and had to come back a few times to double check with us and therefore the food took quite a long to come.

We came here for our sunday breakfast. It was a very busy place. You could call it cozy or a little too small. Interestingly, there were lots of take-away coffee orders happening. It might be a little too much for 3 staff to be the waiter, cashier and barista at the same time. We waited for quite a bit before we were attended to. Coffee were nice, enough cocoa powder to satisfy my boyfriend's sweet tooth over a cappuccino. My long black was fine. We ordered avocado, beetroot on toast; and poached eggs with bacon and tomato. The bacon was booked perfectly. The beetroot were ok. The dish might be a bit on the oily side and please chef, be gentle with the salt! <br/><br/>Food was reasonable after all and I can see why this place could be busy.

Just had a quick brekky here before work and left satisfied. I ordered the quinoa and cauliflower fritters which were gluten free and oh so delicious! And a HUGE serving as well, I couldn't finish it! My coffee was lovely, not my favourite but definitely did the trick first thing in the morning. The two staff were lovely, but maybe a little too chatty at 7.30 in the morning...but I was out and about so if I wanted quiet I could have stayed at home! Some marks taken off for an overly salty salad on the fritters, and how cold it is in the cafe! Things that are easily rectified...and won't stop me returning. Thanks Cheerio!

This little place is just amazing. Coming all the way for CBD we found the food there is definitely worth the travel.<br/><br/>I had the Breakfast Burger which was really impressive. There wasnt too much in it but it was very flavoury but without being overdone. My partner had the Brioche which he also enjoyed a lot. And we shared the buttermilk pancake. It is definitely one of the best I have ever had in Melbourne (yes, even better than the kettle black and all that). I just would recommend it to everyone. Coffee is good too.<br/><br/>Did I mention the food is also pretty affordable? One of my few 5/5 places.

It's a really hidden restaurant but really really good! The pancake is amazing ! I'll try all the brunch in the future! <br/>The environment is just so so. But the food is worth to go.

Ordered the brioche french toast with sausage and the lot. Tasted heavenly. Portion was as expected. Very good value for money (highest price for a meal is $17). Service was exceptional with food served within 10 mins. Definitely would come back again

The ham dock with pumpkin seed sourdough is terrific! The ham is not very salty with the sour flavour from the sauce. My friend order the French toast and she doesn't like it since it's too moist for her. The coffee is not bad but actually I expect for more as the rating is really high.
Rosie
Food was nice and it's a cozy cafe. Staff are friendly. I have to mention that the waiter forgot to put in our order but he came to us to appologise and offered us a free drink and a muffin. Very good customer service. Will definitely recommend this place!

This is the fourth time I come here. I have had ham hock, pancake, omelette and french toast so far and none of them disappointed me. It kept the level of 5 points for me. I will continue to try other dishes on the menu because I really feel like loving this place.

The first time we tried to visit, we waited over 40 mins with only one other group of people outside. We were mostly ignored by the waitress, while she chatted with the other group outside (perhaps her friends). People would leave the cafe but she never updated us what the status would be for four seats. Eventually we left, hungry and grumpy, to go eat elsewhere. We went back again a few weeks later, this time getting seats quickly. We had the quinoa & cauliflower fritters and the Cheerio omelette. The fritters seemed a promising dish but the very liberal amounts of salt throughout the dish plus the already salty prosciutto was so hard to bear. I quite like salty food, but this excessive salt made the whole dish quite inedible. The omelette was much more balanced, but just a tad salty. The service was wonderful this time (didn't see the waitress from last time). Such a shame that the kitchen seems too heavy-handed with the salt because we would be weary to return.

Coffee, food and service is all amazing!  Couldn't have  had a better experience<br/><br/>Coffee blend is especially nice!!!!!!!!
Lost In Food
The coffee was amazing as it came from Seven Seeds. The food was beautifully pleasant! I ordered the savoury Brioche French Toast, the delicate Smoked Ham Hock Benedict, and the Grilled Halloumi Burger. <br/><br/>The French Toast was not too egg-y and incredibly soft in the middle. It had a creamy taste with a subtle touch of goat cheese. It was complemented well with the sausage and sour salad on top.<br/><br/>The Smoked Ham Hock was definitely the one menu to try. The pumpkin-spiced sourdough was crispy on the edges yet soft and buttery in the inside. Combined with the smoked ham hock and the eggs Benedict with Apple-Cider Hollandaise, the sourdough provided the holistic experience for divine palate. <br/><br/>The Grilled Halloumi Burger, however, was decent. Nothing too special but I enjoy the fact that they put nice thick slices of Halloumi inside the burger.<br/><br/>Due to the lack of outdoor labelling and sign, the location was not too easy to find. Had it not been for the picture of the cafe's façade from Zomato, I would have missed it. <br/><br/>The customer service was great. The staff were friendly and we only had to wait for a couple minutes to get a table for two (we came at about 1 pm). However, we had to wait for more than 30 minutes for our food orders to come.<br/><br/>The cafe's atmosphere did not create the appropriate ambience. To a certain degree, I felt like the interior cafe was a bit dull and could've been improved with more objects representing personalization.<br/><br/>With the affordable price of the menu and the kind customer service, I would definitely be back soon for the Smoked Ham Hock (and to try other menu).

This is a cozy little cafe off the busy swan st. We manage to grab our late lunch just before the kitchen closes at 3pm. The fritters was so nicely fried giving it just the right crisp and my husband's steak sandwich was juicy & tender. The food are well priced and coffee is a thumb up too.

Quite little clandestine place, but potentially best Espresso in Richmond. Nice staff, good food, no hideous weekend crowds. Always first pick on this side of the hill.

...with room for maybe 20 people tops and 4 staff floating around, it still took half an hour for someone to take our order. <br/>I loved the sound of the coconut, quinoa and rice porridge with roast quince and toasted coconut ($12.00), and that, too, delivered. Warm, thick and richly coconutty, with heaps of chunks of quince and lots of toasted coconut. It was a nice, big bowl, the perfect winter’s morning breaky; even husband, who hates porridge, loved it.

Cheerio is situated in Lennox st close to busy Swan st, Richmond. We visited this cafe in the Queen's birthday morning, pretty easy to get table as the cafe wasn't full yet. Ordered the avocado roast beetroot on toast and haloumi brioche burger. The burger is to die for. Perfect combination and balance between the haloumi and slaw. I like my roast beetroot too, it was excellent in flavour and look. My soy capp tasted ok but looked disappointing without art

Ordered omelette and ham geese toastie, very well toasted, coffee was good too. Like the atmosphere , will be visiting again and try other dishes.

Went to Cheerio for a business breakfast on Monday morning. It is a small cafe, but had plenty of tables available. It was nice and quite, so good for work meetings. I had the breakfast burger which was very nice and pretty well priced at $12. My appointment had toast with spreads, which I think they could be more creative with. It really is what it says and the spreads are in jars. Even having a similar dish but make it look a bit nicer would make a big difference I think. It's not expensive with $6. The coffee couldn't convince me. I had an orange juice which was a nice big glass for $10.<br/>I have mixed feelings about this place, but because of the good reviews here I would come back and try some other dishes sometime.

So, so good. Went here yesterday morning for an early breakfast. The mushroom omelette was full of delicious flavours and incredibly satisfying. My partner had the brioche French toast and raved about this also. Coffee also very tasty. Space is at a premium so need to arrive early to beat the crowds. Would definitely return!

I love this little cafe in Richmond! While most places are pretty busy on a Sunday morning, arriving early does allow you to settle in for a leisurely brunch and savour every delightful bite at this cafe.<br/><br/>Went there early on a Sunday morning for brunch with some girl friends and since we were there at 9, we probably beat most of the weekend brunch crowd and were able to enjoy our meal. <br/><br/>While the seats may not be the most comfortable if you are one of those people who likes to enjoy brunch over a few hours, the food definitely makes it worth the while.<br/><br/>I'd definitely recommend the pancakes with candied oranges and walnuts. One of the most satisfying things I've had in a while. Warm and sweet without making you feel sick by the end of it. The portions are generous and don't leave you feeling hungry.<br/><br/>Service is pleasant and friendly without being pushy.<br/><br/>Would definitely go back to try some of the other dishes we missed out on the first time!

I have to say, I was blow away by the value for money I got at Cheerio. Great quantity, not expensive and food was out of this world. Customer service is quite important to me and Cheerio certainly delivered. <br/>Highly recommend! <br/>

Cozy tiny venue, rustic interior, wooden furniture and colorful table ware are a comforting need to soften the surroundings of this cafe. The first impression was the service- courteous, friendly and inviting. The menu reflects the small scale but the options are a good variety.<br/><br/>The smoked ham hock eggs was a hearty, fresh and satisfying take on eggs Benedict and the Chorizo eggs were awesome too- had a bit of a kick and fresh baby leaves. Coffee beans were of medium strength and smooth flavor (seven seeds blends). <br/><br/>Colorful dishes and premium produce, snug and casual space- very relaxing and welcoming! : )

Definitely a place I will come back too. Done the simple things spectacularly. Poached eggs looks and tastes amazing, toast and butter which a lot of cafes don't do and some hollandaise and chorizo. All amazing and worth every cent. Got two pieces of toast and only had one for the eggs the waitress asked if we wanted some jams to finish off the last bit of bread. You don't get that anywhere which is excellent. OJ was a 10 which has me going back very soon

Quick attentive friendly service on a Sunday morning.<br/>We arrived at 9am so was not busy, the place is very limited for seating, so we arrived at the right time. We are regular early Sunday morning breakfast people however can imagine later on it would be a lot harder to get a table.<br/>We both ordered poached eggs - I had Avo and halloumi and the other half had chorizo sausage and hollandaise. <br/>Food arrived within ten minutes, a nice touch was with a side of butter for our sourdough, even offering spreads when we hadn't finished one of the slices.<br/>Honest and simple service and food. I can see why this place rates so highly.

We come here often as we work in the area and eat from the take away menu. The staff are great. The burgers and sandwiches are delicious. The biggest disappointment is the serving sizes of the salads - at $13 - it is really only a side salad size. The flavour is good but the serving size or price needs to be reviewed.

The coffee here was really good, creamy and a good temperature. I had the halloumi burger which was great. Service from the wait staff was also fab! Great place all round

Cute little cafe with friendly service and good coffee. I had a special with avo, tomatoes, goats cheese and figs on toast. Super simple but really tasty. Luckily I was there on a Tuesday morning so it wasn't so busy, but I can imagine there would be a wait on weekends as the handful of tables would fill up pretty quick.

Tasty food. Reasonably priced . Delicious coffee . Not too pretentious. Friendly staff. And now to fill up 140 characters . La de da dee dum

Coffee is excellent. Small but cosy interior, good energy and chilled music. I ordered the broad beans and it has to be the best breakfast I've had in Melbourne. Good stuff!
Beau
I think the only reason this place is rated high is because people in the area don't leave the area and dont get to explore the other good food the city has. The coffee was good but the wait on the food was 40 mins and the quality of food was less than OK. The poached eggs were hard and not soft at all. Would not come back here if in Richmond as there are plenty of other nice places around

Great coffee and food.<br/>Friendly staff. <br/>Small cafe, no bookings. <br/><br/>Wagyu Burger is awesome. Massive, non-greasy brioche bun, tasty sauce and seasoning.

Small and easily missed among all the eats in Richmond but definitely a great find!! The coffee is one of the best I've tried and the flavours of the food combinations are creative and delicious! Keep an eye out on their specials board as their summer salads never disappoint!

Me and a mate had lunch here yesterday. This cafe can only cater small crowd. It's a bit tiny but the food is delicious so I don't mind it tbh! I had ham hock with poached eggs on toast. My friend had grilled chorizo with poached eggs on toast. Perfectly done eggs! The ham hock was tender and moist, the grilled chorizo was full of flavours. Coffee was a little weak but u can easily order a stronger one. Definitely one of the bests!

Cosy place off busy Swan st. Adorable girls serving and looking after you. And the chorizo and asparagus dish was a winner! Coffee to my sophisticated taste! Well done!

Tres cute place with wonderful coffee and great food. Dishes stray from the norm (although there doesn't seem to be a lot of norm left in Melbourne!), and offer a funky range of savoury and sweet dishes. Friendly, informed service.<br/><br/>Due to its small size and popularity there can be a bit of a wait at peak times, and there is only very limited outdoor seating. Aim for a seat in the window during the week and you can't go wrong!
