After reluctantly coming here due to the various reviews about this place, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised and how delicious the food was as well as how friendly the staff was. We tried various dishes a beef with black bean, Sichuan chicken, garlic prawns and Mongolian lamb - all very delicious. Whether they have new management or just an overall improvement, it is worth giving this place a go!
If you love yum cha and want to escape the long queue at Secret Kitchen in Doncaster Shopping Town then Golden Duck by Secret Kitchen will be your best choice. Abundant dim sum selections from the roaming trolleys and very generous size/portions that will surely hit the spot after a few rounds of yum cha Tetris.
It was my first experience trying out Yum Cha, didn't know what it was at first. But realised when they came to the table and explaining the dishes, that they serve a range of small dishes. Believe me, I wanted to try everything out, as I was excited and confused about what to have. Loved the dim sims, beef spring rolls, calamari (not the looks of it), tuna dim sim and few other things, i've nodded my head to, and loved all of them.
The service was absolutely lovely and very friendly. They would always come around to check on us and made us feel comfortable. I was stuffed with contentment. Will definitely bring my troops here soon.
I got a fantastic meal here with amazing food (signature coral trout fish,five- spice duck, snow crab with goose pate’ , yum !!!) and excellent service of waiter Michael. Won’t be disappointed. Forget about those negative feedbacks, actually i read their reviews before decided to go, was hesitate, but just let’s try, you never try by yourself, you will never know. Don’t miss out.

I ordered their signature roasted duck and steamed shanghai pork dumpling a few days ago. The food was absolutely beautiful and their delivery service is very quick!
I'll definitely order again or may try to eat at the restaurant.
We try the seafood dishes ,beautiful recommendation from the staff, the fresh live fish is steamed perfectly , and we also try the signature roast duck , was perfect too,overall, a good night of good , fine foods 👍

Service was really good and the place is clean. Table covers/cloths are changed every single use. Food carts go around often and food are introduced if not familiar. Good experience overall.
We've been here twice now and each time the yum cha has been quite good. Customers are treated a bit like a commodity so avoid if you don't like feeling rushed. Recommend booking ahead on weekends because the place fills up quickly.

We had a work function and booked the private rooms which could fit 2 tables. Upon arriving, we saw the menus were printed with our colleague name (it was a farewell dinner) which caught us by surprise. The floor manager made sure that everyone's tea were topped up while we waited for others to arrive. He didn't rush us to have the dishes served and only asked us once whether we were ready for dinner (we started at 7pm). We were so impressed by the presentation of the food (colorfully decorated and neatly prepared). The entree dishes was a tray of 4 cold dishes consisting of veggies and meat. We then had the egg curd with prawns, free range chicken with ginger sauce, eggplant with minced meat, Peking duck, steamed fish with soy sauce, deep fried tofu, spinach with goji berries, osmanthus with red bean and matcha dessert, puff pastry with lotus bean paste filling and fruit platter (the oranges and watermelon were so sweet). The food not only looked good but tasted great. Dessert is not overly sweet and tasted light which is also suitable for elderly to eat. The floor manager also changed our plates after the first 2 or 3 course which was really nice. We ended up paying $33 per person (for 23 people) which is really good value. We have had work related function at other Chinese restaurants in the Eastern suburbs and think this is the best out of all. The manager, George had a chat with us after the dinner to make sure that we were happy with their service. I definitely recommend this restaurant if you have a group of people to have dinner with.
My wife and I were absolutely thrilled with our dining experience here. The service was impeccable, and could not fault the staff, who were warm and friendly - even as they got busier during the evening.
We started with fried prawn wantons, with a delicious sweet and sour sauce. She had the beef and black bean, which was akin to eating beefy silk, and I had the Beijing crept duck, which was moist and perfectly cooked, with an accompanying sauce that matched perfectly.

Came here for yumcha and quite happy with the quality of food. The dishes are cooked and seasoned nicely. The rice paper prawn is a little disappointing due to lack of its sauce. Pretty similar to what you'll get at their parent restaurant - Secret Kitchen. Will definitely come back again to try their duck dish.

the dim sum was delicious especially the durians puffs and pudding. Sea cucumber bun was something interesting, the skin was so light and fluffy, however would've been better if it was thinner as the proportion of bun to fillings was a bit over, taste wise it was a nice combination of savoury w sweet bun. the beef ribs were tender and rich in flavour, however a tad too salty for my taste. Prawn rice rolls were nice and thin w generous size prawns. Staffs were all very nice and friendly, overall experience was good. Overall we spent $76 for two person.
Golden Duck manages to strike a balance between tradition and modern flavours. Standard yumcha offerings are available on trolleys, something you don't see much anymore, sadly.
But if you're hungering for a something new and exotic, do try their fusion yumcha. You won't regret it. Har Gao with truffle? Sure why not.
A good solid Dim Sum and Duck place, nice variety of Dim Sum, all very tasty, quick and efficient service. Often busy so pays to book.
A decent Chinese restaurant in the Town Square at Eastland. The dishes are good; we particularly liked the lettuce cup and Peking Duck. Some of the other dishes were slightly too salty for my taste but not too bad. Prices are a little high but OK. We spent $150 for dinner with two adults and three children. We might come back to try their Yum Cha.
