The place was very nice, dimmed lighting, spacious, clean and the staff are really lovely. The food was great, I had the san choi bao, crispy wonton dumplings and xiao long bao. The mayo for the crispy wontons lacked flavor but the wontons were super crispyš however, the xiao long bao didnt contain much soup which was a little disappointing.
Overall nice place for a little date, and great staff.
Like a second home, beautiful staff and everything on the menu is delicious. Vibey house music and recommend the strawberry and cream tea.
Really enjoy dining at oriental teahouse. Their dishes are beautifully presented with banging flavours. We ordered the crispy pork belly, satay chicken and chilli pork dumplings and legit fried rice. Everything was amazing! I canāt wait to go back and order more off their menu. There are sooooo many more dishes to try. Book because theyāre always busy.

Searching for a spot where you an enjoy good quality tea, with dumplings, wanton and many more. Oriental Teahouse might just be your go to for that amazing fix. Located on the busy Chapel Street in South Yarra. Step into a Chinese Tea House with a touch a modern interior. Really liked the modern and clean interior display.
There was quite a lot of options to choose from the menu ranging from dumplings, wantons and the different dishes like Smoked Tea Chicken. We thought it might be good to try a bit of everything from the menu. They do have an extensive drink and cocktails menu as well.
For food we decided on a variety of dumplings, smoked tea chicken, pork ribs, eggplants and some spring rolls to share. We also tried their cocktails on the menu and they were presented well. The cocktails complemented the dishes really well with a hint of yuzu which makes it refreshing. I really enjoyed their smoked tea chicken as it was very unique and the flavours were amazing. I really liked the concept of the dish. The dishes were good for sharing and it gives you an option to try abit of everything.
Would love to come back to try their dessert options available as we had no room for dessert this time.
My absolute favourite dumplings restaurant in Melbs. I think Iāve been here almost twenty(!!) times and have had an incredible experience every time! My favourites include the crispy calamari, chilli beef wagging dumplings and legit fried rice.

I absolutely LOVE Oriental Teahouse in South Yarra!
I have been multiple times and am always impressed with the extensive plant based menu. The options are varied and amazingly yum.
My highlights include:

Silky Tofu + Mushroom
Veggie fried rice
Chinese broccoli with vegan oyster sauce!
The service is always great - the atmosphere is lovely too. It's a big space but usually quite busy, for good reason.
Great place for groups too as they have big tables :) Definitely be back again and again!!

We went here for a friends birthday, being a large group we were sat at the back of the restaurant. The venue has changed a lot since I went, itās not funky interior makes for a wonderful dining experience.
We ordered some cocktails, we got the Margarita, Earl Grey (recommend) and we also had a pink lychee flavoured one.
It was a busy night, and they had an all you can eat menu. Since our group was quite large, dietary requirements & people wanting different things they let us order from the main menu.
We ordered our food, and I waited unfortunately nearly 45 minutes for just salt and pepper tofu. My friends seemed to get their food within 25-30 minutes. After 25 minutes I did asked and the (very friendly and kind) waiter let us know that due to the all you can eat it would be a wait. Which we completely understood, however with others in my group getting their food I just didnāt understand how they couldnāt get mine.
Anyway after 30 minutes I decided to order more food knowing there would be a long wait. This food came before the first order.
While I did find this a little frustrating, the staff kept a smile on their face, were apologetic and I could see how busy they were so I didnāt make an issue about this.
Iād definitely go back again, the food was very good!
Oriental teahouse has a great setup, with quick and friendly service and reasonable prices. Three of us shared three entrees, two mains, fried rice and a bottle of wine. Pretty happy to get all of that for $47 each, especially when the food was as good as it was. The pork belly is a MUST.
Friendly and obliging staff, and fabulous vegan options that were so fresh & delicious. The salt and pepper tofu & mock pork buns were particularly scrumptious. Will definitely be heading back to this gem.

Great atmosphere. Super efficient services. The food was great. I think the squid lacks of sauces. I didnt realise it until seeing pictures others posted here. We enjoyed it anyway and the overall experience was great. I love the vegetable fried rice! So yummyy. When you make payments the machine will suggest tipping. I just dont know what is the right/ expected rate as I dont see it often in Melbourne.
Our experience dining at the Teahouse was superb from the moment we arrived. The food was excellent . You must visit.
The staff here are amazing. I honestly have never had better customer service in my life. My partner and I came here for Valentineās Day and it was just an exceptional experience. The food was amazing and came out quickly. The staff were very responsive as well when you wanted modifications on your food or to add on more items. It was my partnerās first time
here and he loved every single bit of it.

We tried all the different veggie dumpling options here and they are all delicious. Definitely a little on the pricey side but worth it for such tasty food, and the wide selection of vegetarian/vegan options.
