Review Pho Hung Vuong - Springvale

JM F
Visited for late Sunday lunch. First impressions very positive: nicely renovated, bright, clean, attractive menu, good service. Salt and pepper chicken was still juicy but the noodle texture let it down somewhat. The pho was decent, the accompanying vegetables were fresh but unfortunately the texture of noodles used and cut of beef let the dish down. Large portions, price comparable to others.

Newly renovated after the pandemic lockdown. After reading a few negative reviews, we ventured here to experience it ourselves. Tables were clean, hot tea and cups were available on the tables. The menu was very extensive. So many selections there. Our order arrived in 10 minutes (yes I timed it). Bun Rieu was tasty but less meat/toppings compare similar restos. The dried noodle with spicy chicken ribs was almost perfect. I would prefer less sauce on the noodle though. Mung bean drink was good, less sweet would be preferrable. Overall it was a nice dining experience. I definitely will come back again to try other dishes on the menu. Update Mar 2022: Tried Crispy chicken with red rice. Really nice, they prepared the chicken right. I don't use the provided sweet sauce (sweet dish not my thing), instead use the house chilly sauce. Awesome combination. 5/5

The chilli lemongrass chicken is so delicious. There was a queue but it progressed quickly and the food was served within 15 min from ordering. Worth the wait. Will visit again šŸ¤“

Just about the worst service at a Vietnamese restaurant Ive ever experienced. Been to Vietnam numerous times and have had the most memorable hospitality and friendliness from the people. This restaurant however just couldn't care less and straight up lied to my face. Ordered some takeaway and was missing fried eggs in both my Special Broken Rice. Took it back in and told them. After going in and out of the kitchen and mumbling amongst themselves they said it was under everything else in the box. Trusting them I said thanks and left. Got home and opened up the box and there were no fried eggs. Says a lot about the owner and staffs credibility. In addition, theres a lot of Viet restaurant that states "Flame grilled pork chop" on their menu for broken rice but its just lies as most are deep fried. Overall just dishonest practice from all these restaurateurs.

Great food at a good price. Had the bun bo hue and matcha frappe. The bun bo hue was great. The matcha frappe was bad. Priced at around $15/dish.

Quick service.Friendly staff. There are many varieties of dishes and noodle combinations.Unfortunately the cut of beef let the dish down.BEEF TASTE NOT GOOD.

Came here on a Sunday for lunch. Was seated promptly. Drinks came to the table promptly, food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. Satisfies the cravings for Vietnamese food. Card payment available. Will be back for more.

A new review but this time on their takeaway I love how the pho is still so consistent even for takeaway. The rare beef is frozen but is very tender and a generous amount of beef balls are given. The soup is perfect and with a generous amount of noodles. The staff pack the takeaway with a load of beanspouts and mint leaves.
1 may 2016
my favourite pho joint in springvale. usually queue during lunch and peak hours but worth the wait. cheap pricing and large portioned. The broth is perfect most of the time and theres a generous amount of meat. Usually get a medium to share between two. The place is a bit cramped and service is alright.

An enjoyable, pho experience, fast service and tasty, simple food. We will return.

FOOD 5/5: I had a medium bowl of pho with rare beef and brisket. Firstly, noodles were great, plentiful, soft, slimy, ā€œslurpableā€, really nothing to fault. The broth was not too salty and beef was also cut slenderly, rare and the brisket had good streaks of fat.

SERVICE 5/5: food came out in less than 5 minutes. Waiter also did well to confirm orders and provide the usual bean sprouts and chilli very quickly.

ATMOSPHERE: 4/5: seating is big enough, as are the tables for two bowls. Just a tiny bit loud and busy at lunch.

Favourite place for pho in Melbourne. Can always trust this place to serve a delicious bowl of pho. The broth is lovely but maybe just a little salty because I get thirsty afterwards. Service is ok, wait time for a seat can be long depending on what time you go and seats packed close together.

They have been here since day 1.
Specializing in the different types of pho. The difference here is their rice noodles that is silky smooth and thin.

Really like their pho here and i would go for their rare beef and beef ball pho.
Yun Huang Yong
This may be the best pho in Australia.

The soup is delicious and clear.
The noodles have a nice bite to then.
The rare beef is sliced perfectly and served flat so it cooks evenly.
Plentiful tripe, tendon and brisket in the special.
Honestly never seen the combination of everything being perfect anywhere else in Australia.
Tina
Favourite pho restaurant on the Eastside. The pho here is very flavoursome and fresh- fresh in that it doesn't have that 'MSG' taste to it. Very authentic flavours.

This place is always packed. But if you do go when there's a line outside, I would still recommend to line up as the wait is usually never too long.
Sam
Been coming here since 2011, and i gotta say its one of the best if not the best Pho restaurant in Melbourne. its a bit cramped inside and the queues are long at the best of times but in general the wait is not long. Their soup base is delightful, non greasy and full of flavour and the best part is they seem to be very consistent with both taste and quality.

THE pho joint. (4.5ā)

The place is pretty well kept, just tad bit crampy. We had to queue in a line before being served. The staffs were nice and menu were displayed on both sides of the wall so it was easy to read. Food also came quite promptly and it was easy to get the staff's attention. It's not really a place to stay for long however, as they will take your plates away once you finished, due to the line outside.Ā

Definitely the best pho I've had. I had their beef combination which came with rare beef, brisket, tendon, meatballs and tripe. Noodles were cooked well, soup was flavourful but just right, portion was generous for a small and the beansprouts and mint leaves were fresh. Condiments are all available on the table, with refillable hot tea. A really good place for pho, i can see why it's really famous!

Easily the best pho!

( follow for more!āœØ)

ļ½˜ļ½˜ļ¼Œļ½Šļ½ļ½…ļ½Œļ½Œļ½….

Came here for lunch and the place were extremely busy. We need to wait for a bit before we got a table.

The pho, grilled chicken and pork on rice, along with the prawn spring rolls were very yummy.
The best pho and grilled chicken on rice that I ever tried.
Taste so fresh and the portion also generous.

We also tried the Vietnamese ice coffee it was strong but refreshing.
Lizzie Eats Melbourne
šŸ˜±Lizzieā€™s first impression: been here many a times and it never disappoints

šŸ©Lizzie enjoyed: my favourite is the classic sliced rare beef and beef balls with pho - the best combo and has the most authentic flavours.

šŸ…Lizzie did not enjoy: itā€™s a little shabby so donā€™t mind that!

šŸ„‡Lizzie rates overall: love coming back here it almost feels homey yet delicious

Been here for late lunch, the pho broth is tasty and pleasant. One of the most delicious pho I've eaten. Their pho noodles are different too, more starchy. Serving size is decent with lots of noodles and meat. There was kids chair but no room for pram in. Overall it's worth trying.
Missfoodieguide
Best pho in Melbourne. Broth is light but tasty enough to keep you wanting more. Springroll is a must have too, I personally love the prawn oenS Always a queue here but definitely worth the wait.
Melissa
Best pho in town hands down. The lot is a great choice as it has all the meats and organs in there (if you're into it other than just beef itself).

Chicken pho is also a great choice for a lighter tasting soup.

We went to this place the other day as it was very highly rated as. Far as Pho soup goes.. I consider myself quite a good judge of Pho soup as it is one of my favourite Vietnamese meals and have eaten it in many Vietnamese restaurants around Australia, Vietnam and Asia. I didnā€™t ask if there was any MSG in the soup as from reading previous reviews I assumed the master stick was authentic. But from the first Tate the broth was overly sweet and not so clear in colour... it lacked all the true flavour of a great beef Pho and couldnā€™t taste any hint of the aromatics and spices... and pretty much after eating it the effects of the MSG were present which made me feel quite unwell. I should have asked if there was any MSG in their soups so it my own fault. My partner also had the chicken pho which stock was also average.. they were also very tight on the plate of shared herbs, bean shoots. Otherwise the service was okay and the staff was friendly but I would go back for the Pho.
Emptystomach
Need me to say more? There is always a queue outside this famous and delicious Pho joint. Never to disappointed. Go for the classic beef pho for a treat.
For more foodie goodness follow my ig: emptystomach
Elephantpizza
My favorite pho! The branches in richmond and footscray are incomparable to this one! It only serves pho and drinks but the service is very speedy and the taste is definitely a lot stronger.
Lily Tang
This place has nice pho and the food always comes really fast. There is usually a really long line in the morning of weekends because of the high demand because itā€™s considered one of the best pho places in Springvale. Overall it has nice pho I recommend
John B
Hands down the best pho restaurant in the east of Melbourne, including Richmond.

Service is prompt and efficient. I wouldn't say overall friendly, but can't blame the waitresses and waiters when the they have such high turnover of customers.

I've been coming here for over 25 years and every bowl of pho I have elsewhere is judged against Pho Hung Vuong. The only one that comes close/equal is this one place in Footscray.
Imagine my disappointment when I went to Vietnam and had some very ordinary pho.

Use to order the Chicken and Beef special, but now I only get the Beef special.
Michi
Very very delicious pho. Always busy and might have to wait if you come in big group. Had it with ice coffee and spring rolls and you will leave with a happy full belly
Foodinfocusz
On a previous visit to Springvale we noticed a substantial queue waiting outside to get a table at Phį»Ÿ HĆ¹ng VĘ°į»£ng. Today we decided to join the line to check out the attraction. We actually didnā€™t have to wait very long and found the allurement is the fact they serve one dish only and that is Phį»Ÿ. Yes, itā€™s good, fabulous flavoured soup base and a generous serve ofĀ protein served with fresh basil, bean shoots, lemon and chilli.
Foodgalorez
I love this place. Been coming here for years and years now. Very efficient staff. Long queues but the wait is not long at all due to efficiency

This pho restaurant only sells pho, nothing else. This is because pho is its speciality! The soup is so sweet and addictive. Juicy, tender, thinly sliced raw beef. Absolutely enjoyable especially on a cold day! Ask for extra onions (free) to add extra kick to the taste!
Joshua Osborne
On a cold rainy day, what better to do than to get some nice warm pho. I had heard this place is the best in Melbourne.

We waited in line for 25minutes. Once in the want you to order instantly so be ready.

I got the rare beef pho. Absolutely amazing! Very generous amount of meat which cooked as you ate it. Clean flavours. The wife had the chicken which the broth was just as good if not better.

Definitely worth the wait.
Gretel Jayne Alejano
too good.
never disappoints, the best pho restaurant in Springvale. The long lines are proof of how good the food is at this restaurant.
If ever ur in need of some serious good pho, this is the place
Stelly
The best pho place in all of Melbourne! We came at around 2:30pm on a Wednesday and the restaurant was full! However itā€™s definitely worth the wait - the beef pho is amazing and the portions are very good. However, the only let down is that the only dish they have is pho (no bbh or other Vietnamese dishes), so thereā€™s not much variety to choose from. Nonetheless, Iā€™d still highly recommend it!

I was walking down the street of Springvale on a Wednesday mid morning assuming many people would be at work, and came across The pho shop with a line of approximately 10 people waiting.

Yes, there is a line because of the quality of food that they serve. You are greeted and asked by the waiter, how many people and are hastily given a seat as people leave from slurping their delicious rice noodle.

As you are seated you are swiftly asked to order and the food them comes out within 5 minutes. This is Vietnamese fast food as you could say.
It is such a delight to have such a tasteful pho restaurant nearby my house. The only thing that does need improvement is the decor of the shop as it is starting to get run down and could do with a touch of creativity. Other than that, 10/10.
Lirron
Best pho around by far the broth is incredible, definitely a place worth going to. Itā€™s very crowded inside and thereā€™s usually a line to get in but the service is very quick.
Pierre Pie
Locate spring vale , pho pho pho ... finally found a best pho . Vietnam cuisine, the shop Crown of people , omg need line up , after 10 minute got a seat , letā€™s started beef pho and coffee. ā€˜, really tasty and great , and the price is reasonable. Thumbs up , cheers definitely will visit again .

The classic!! One of Melbourneā€™s gems - pho is amazing, beef sliced beautifully thin, chili just hits the spot!

Always bustling with long lines, but Iā€™d say itā€™s part of the experience itself.
Bella
Go to Pho restaurant! I usually order the beef ball and rare beef one and itā€™s Always so good and yummy šŸ˜‹šŸ˜‹šŸ˜‹ also has three different bowl sizes and all are great value for money!
Esther Lee
Best pho in Melbourne.
Delicious broth, perfectly cooked noodles, very good portions.
I only ever come here for pho - and everyone I bring says that it's the best that they've ever tried. It's worth the wait!
PK
Itā€™s properly the best Pho restaurant in Melbourne, but let down by the atmosphere, itā€™s always busy, noisy and you just donā€™t feel comfortable to enjoy the tasty Pho, the staff just try to push you out the door as soon as you finish your meal, not very nice environment to have meal with the family !
Snowflower
Decided to try this place after reading some great reviews. We werenā€™t disappointed. The beef pho here was fantastic. Will come back for beef and rare beef pho. Very busy and crowded place. Tip: Come before 6pm to avoid queuing for a table.
Monica
Restaurants have only one pho option, all the soup noodle and drink menus are on the wall, decoration is very simple, very busy, basically every time to line up, serve fast, their chili oil is very good, this pho is one of the best in Melbourne
Mr NomNom
The best pho in Melbourne. The service is fast and efficient, the flavour is rich and wonderful, the meat is beautifully cut.

The venue is a bit small and it's quite busy so always expect to wait for a seat but due to the fast service it shouldn't take too long
Bella
My favorite pho in Melbourne! Fast service, excellent flavors! They only sell pho. Watch out on lunch times bc you'll find yourself queueing for a bit.
Phuong Tran
Food is no frills, good quality pho. Service is fast and efficient albeit a little hard pressed to get attention. Always a line but usually a short wait, fast turnover of tables. Good pho - pho sho
March
This is the best pho restaurant in town. I usually go there for breakfast. My favorite pho there is beef and beef-ball with no spring onions. But I always ask for pickle onion and added chili oil, chili sauce and brown sauce into it and mix together. Put it on the beef with pho and soup is the best way to enjoy it. Xoxo
The Judgey Barista
This place has really amazing Pho šŸ² the broth is delicious and not overly salted, really great flavour. I will definitely come again, just be aware you will have to wait in line for about 10-15min even on a weekday because this place is so popular. But I would highly recommend. If I could change anything I would like a bit more beef in my soup as there are a lot of noodles, but that is just a personal preference. Would highly recommend if you are looking for an ACTUALLY good Pho šŸ²
Jorja Henry
Always great food that is wholesome, delicious and filling. Best pho place Iā€™ve been to, and to top it all off, super cheap too! Couldnā€™t recommend this enough for a filling, warm feed
Wine & Dine
One of our favourite pho place in Springvale!
Nice broth ( this is a very important aspect for us to judge a bowl of pho)
Good amount of meat (we order special beef without everything including tendons)
large serving
fresh!
All in all, delicious and keeps us from going back.
what more can you ask for
Steven Hung
Been there twice, first time in general experience was okay. Second time order a take away. After have a beef Pho I have sign of food poisoning for few days. After that experience I will not go back again.
HildaLuv2Eat
My favorite pho in town, forever a line of people queuing up at the door, it always take me around 10-15mins wait which is fine, not too bad. Im not a big eater so small bowl can feed my stomach already. Beef special is the best, their beef broth is very clear but strong in beef bone flavor, noodles are smooth and not soggy. Authentic Vietnamese pho is served here!
The Merlion
As Pho goes , this ranks as of the better ones among all the pho restaurants in this area. What differentiates them is that you could actually taste the broth rather than just MSG. I went for the medium size option and the portion was huge. They don't serve rice here fyi. Queued for about 10mins.
The Violet
Itā€™s a very small shop offers loads of flavour.

One of the best beef soup Iā€™ve had. If you have been to Pho An in Sydney Bankstown or Pho Ann in Cabramatta. You must know what Iā€™m talking about.

It was delicious and fresh. Beef soup was so ā€˜é²œā€™ / tasty and nature.
Buy All The Fries!
Been going here for at least fifteen years. Call me stubborn but I will not order pho anywhere else. Broth is always piping hot and tasty. Best!
CeeeSaw
Unfortunately a bit average. Stingy with the chili (both fresh, and oil preserved). Most of the chicken was grey and chewy. Service and price ok. Overall a bit lackluster.
Wonghansiang
My very first time trying Vietnamese cuisine and it never disappointed me. The broth is very nice to drink. Plus the noodle portion was big enough for 2 pax! Just you need to queue up to wait for your turn as the shop is always packed patrons dining in.
Harry The Foodie
My favourite pho place in springvale! There is almost always a wait to get in but it's worth it. The only negative I have is the atmosphere. Its crowded, noisy and kinda dirty. Do try when in springvale.
Rohit Daniel Chandra
Arrived about 15 minutes before closing time and still managed to sneak in dinner, as service was fast. Pho was exceptional and great value - broth was very tasty. One of, if not the best pho in Melbourne. Leaves you craving for more.
Lambchop.urban
Winner for pho in Springvale. PHV is so popular that youā€™d often see the queue outside the restaurant especially on weekends. The space is quite limiting. Thus, staff attempt to make up for this by serving efficiently to the extent that it is becoming abrupt.
MILTON
Apparently best in Melbourne but canā€™t agree. Still very good. I felt the broth was lacking a bit. Very good portion and well priced. Maybe the best pho in springvale but not sure about Melbourne. Thanks
Jojo Armani
4.5 to be precise

This is a no-frills eatery with a straight forward and concise food menu - phį»Ÿ and nothing but phį»Ÿ.

Not sure why I saw pictures of spring rolls in their Zomato gallery because they definitely donā€™t serve it here. Perhaps at Pho Hung Vuong 2, Richmond?

Anyhow, as with any other phį»Ÿ places, the first thing we always sample when our bowls of noodles arrive before anything else, is the broth - the heart and soul of a phį»Ÿ.

Of course the other elements of dish are equally as important, but without a great broth, even the freshest ingredients cannot make this dish shine.

These guys here have nailed it! The broth: amazing, noodles: cooked perfectly and the beef: fresh (I usually request for my raw beef slices to be placed on a separate plate so that I can ā€œcookā€ it in my broth to the level of rareness that I like).

However, the meat to noodle ratio could be better, a little more meat than what was given would be nice, although thereā€™s an add-on option for an extra $4.

The Vietnamese iced coffee was a little too sweet for my liking and laden with ice mostly, but the coffee itself was nice and strong.

Service was friendly and extremely efficient. The waitress who served us was polite and said ā€œEnjoyā€ each time she placed a meal down - nice touch.

We will definitely be back for more delicious phį»Ÿ.
AlwaysHungryForMore
For the locals, this is the go to place for pho in Springvale and as a result, is almost always packed. We find Pho Hung Vuong may sometimes be a little hit and miss depending on the day of the week and how busy it is. However, it's a little harder to find fault with the cheap price and generous serving sizes!

Follow us on Instagram: @alwayshungryformore
Samir Makssi
Fondly, and accurately, referred to by locals as ā€œthe best pho restaurant in Springvaleā€. Highly recommend the beef pho, with tendon and sliced beef being a favorite.
Southside Foodie
Tried this after seeing all the reviews however we were not overly impressed. The pho itself is great but easily comparable to other places nearby. The store is quite dirty to be honest, floors were absolutely filthy. It just didnā€™t have a hygienic presence which put me off. Cash only which is also a con and you feel quite rushed to finish as there is always a huge queue outside. Very average so we will stick to our favourite Pho Chu Le down the road!
Hungry Little Dinosaur
My husband has never eaten pho before. Heā€™s over 30 and when he told me that this was the best pho heā€™s had, I was very skeptical. So I went along with him, thinking I could have spring rolls if the pho wasnā€™t good. Stood in line for 10 minutes, was kind of hungry and concerned that they only did pho. Sat down and ordered a bowl to share, just in case it was awful and ended up having to get my own bowl because I needed more pho. They only serve pho but they really really get this pho right! Great soup, actually by far the best pho I have ever had. Come and have the pho here, it is actually the best pho in Melbourne. Would give six stars if I could, and I was annoyed that I was full and couldnā€™t have more!! Already planning another trip back!
Bak Kwa
This place always have a queue. The broth here is amazing. Wonderful and quick service too. Best in Springvale so far. There is no need to find another place for pho. This place is all you need.
Laurdose
Definitely the best pho I have had in Melbourne! Been here several times and the pho is consistently good.

The broth is packed with flavour, way more flavour than phos I've tried in the city!
They have several different sizes of bowls (I think small medium and large). Portions are generous, if you're hungry definitely recommend medium size (or large if you have a big appetite). I got the rare beef and beef ball- rare beef was tender and the balls were tasty.

The Vietnamese coffee was great as well however, I feel like the size was pretty small.

I think it is definitely worth coming out to Springvale to try this restaurant if you haven't before (heck I take a 30 minute bus ride just to come here occasionally)!
Vivian
Everytime I drive past, walk past or decide to eat here there is always a line! The venue is very small and only serves pho so it has to be good right? The answer is yes, a one trick pony in Springvale that does the most important Vietnamese dish right! The only con is that the cleanliness is not quite there.
EatsByM
Came here for the first with some friends for a quick cheap eats! The pho is soooooo good here! I got the small rare beef and I must say the serving size and the amount of meat in the pho was quite generous!
Would definitely come back here!
Gece
Taste wise, this is the top pho restaurant on my list! Location wise.. itā€™s too far from home. But itā€™s kind of worth it!

I had the medium size raw beef and tripe. YUM!! Generous servings. The broth was a bit sweeter than the one I always had. But super yum! And it was served hot! Like a proper pho it was. The medium size cost me $11. And another $1 for extra basil leaves.

I had their ice coffee as well and was not disappointed :). Coffee and milk without sugar for $3.

PS: CASH only.
Alicia
This place is definitely great for a good, but very reasonably priced meal. The food comes super fast, and is definitely very good quality with good taste. You do have to wait, but the wait isnā€™t too long. Definitely would go again and would recommend.
Kacangma
This is always my favourite pho place. Whenever I have visitors, this is the first place I take them to. Both the chicken broth and beef broth are very flavourful. Thinly cut rare beef cooked immediately in the hot broth. You are also given heaps of bean sprouts, Thai basil, lemon wedges and chilli. $10 for a meal? A bargain!
McFoodie Jones
Best Pho Iā€™ve had in Melbourne Pho real (Sorry I had to!). While you may have to wait in a line on the street - itā€™s honestly worth the wait! This place is seriously fresh, speedy, jam packed with traditional flavours & super cheap - exactly like I had in Vietnam! Donā€™t mistake the simple decor & small seating area - this place is brilliant. Love love love!
Ed
Dishes to try: pho bo (beef)

The best pho place in town among many others. Be ready to queue during peak time. You can ask for more onion pickle and eat it with the chilli oil. The beef soup is very rich here which is too my liking.
Bunny Eats
Iā€™ve been craving for a solid bowl of pho since Winter began. Unfortunately, my cravings were not satisfied after my recent order at Pho Hung Vuong 2. Iā€™ve been to their Footscray joint, and absolutely love them so was hoping for the same experience. However, my take away order for a large bowl of pho was met with a bag of frozen meat (where usually it would be given fresh!) and only mildly warm broth. Iā€™ve ordered take away from them before and have only been required to assemble it all into a bowl ready to eat. This time, due to the frozen meat and only mildly warm broth, I had to nuke it in the microwave multiple times. A real let down! Might be better eating in but I need to mend my broken heart from this disappointing bowl before I attempt another visit.
Marina
pho for dinner tonight šŸ˜‹šŸ˜‹ my family and I have been coming to this Pho place for years! I always get the sliced beef and tendons #melbournefood #marinabrunchnmunch
Julieeeteee
Hands down the best pho place in Springvale. The pho is brought out steaming hot, the broth is so flavourful and they are generous with toppings. The only con is the waiting time, no matter what time it is during the day, whenever I go there is a line, but the wait is worth it.
Pandy
My favourite place to go for a good bowl of pho in Melbourne. Get ready to queue up, thereā€™s always a steady stream of customers coming in any time of the day, theyā€™re that good! The soup tasted clean with a good balance of flavours. The service is quick and efficient.
@foodtom
This place has the best pho in town!
Such a small restaurant but we keep coming back for more!
During peak hours and weekends, there is always a line outside waiting to be seated. The service was straight forward and prompt, the meals comes out quick.
I always order the Pho beef and tripe, add the chilli and bean sauce on the side. ALWAYS get pickled onions, the broth itself has so much flavour, steaming out. I am currently craving for pho again now.
Although service can be a downfall sometimes, they try to push you out when it is peak times.
Camy Bamy
No matter what day, rain or shine it is the busiest restaurant in Springvale and worth the waiting in line PHO some good noodle soup šŸ˜. Broth is authentic, not oily and the flavours are quiet delicate and tantalising. Best Pho in Springvale by far.
Jason Lay
Best pho Iā€™ve had in Melbourne thus far. Thereā€™s a reason why thereā€™s always a line on the weekends. Itā€™s a no frills, good value, super tasty breakfast, lunch or dinner. Must try if youā€™re a fan of pho.
Sunny Days Melbourne
What else can I say about this place other than it's the BEST pho in Melbourne! It's no wonder there's a queue every time I go there. The soup is clear, the meats are chunky and the herbs are fresh. Service is a bit hit and miss but the pho makes up for it.
Brandan Chong
My local favourite for pho! Honestly, one of my favourites of all time, and here's why!

Not many places serve you a bowl of hot boiling pho with raw pieces of beef in the broth. This is how I like it and how pho should be served in my opinion, as the residue heat from the soup will gently cook the beef to whatever doneness you want it to be. Also, if the beef is already cooked all the way through when it's in the kitchen, by the time you start eating it, the beef would be way too chewy. The broth here is pretty nice, but you can taste the msg.

Most reliable place for pho, but the restaurant always has a long line, so be prepared to wait!
Kelvin Vo
My go to place for pho, soup was tasty and not oily. I usually add hoi Sin sauce but none was required in the soup. Restaurant had a traditional feel and I have been back multiple times!
The Food Vogue By Le Seynt
Still the best pho Iā€™ve had in Melbourne so far. Staff were efficient (as expected from a Asian restaurant šŸ˜…) I got the beef brisket pho and it always satisfies my cravings. Thank you
The Worldā€™s My Oyster
Get ā€œThe Lotā€ which is equivalent to ā€œspecial beef and chickenā€ with innards at other places. Donā€™t get the iced coffee... as others have said the glass is half empty and shoved full of ice. The drink doesnā€™t even come close to the rim!

Our go to place for Pho if you want the traditional taste. The broth is simply a class above the rest.
Sissy Lan
Hands down, the best Pho in Melbourne šŸ™Œ If you happen to be in the area, make sure to not miss this place. The broth is simply out of the world. Iā€™ve never had anything like it.
LeonTheVirtuoso
We are an Asian couple coming over from Adelaide after a 10-year stay. This was our first pho in Melbourne. Food is okay, didnā€™t live up to the hype. We were told that pho in Mel would be so much better. This one def didnā€™t do the trick....contour our search for good pho.
Munching With Mel
Despite the queue in the early morning, service amazed me given they were quick to let my group of 10 to get a seat. I ordered the pho bo dac biet, which really brought me home, with the sweet and hearty aroma and its perfect soup consistency. They provided additional bean sprouts and leaf to accentuate my tastebuds, as well as their homemade sauces. Meat was a bit tough, but will come back whenever I get a chance to travel back to the east!
Foodie In Paradise
Came here for late lunch and this place was still extremely busy. Even though the queue was long but the turnover was pretty quick. There have very simple menu on the wall with mostly pho.
The pho here was quite tasty. Ingredients were fresh. Huge portion with very well priced. Really like their ice coffee here too.

My go-to-place for pho at all times. However, itā€™s pretty much a sit in and eat and out kinda place. Nice broth, chilli is good and beef is sliced thinly as it should be. The people working there are friendly but do not expect a fancy looking place and overpriced pho cause if youā€™re looking for that, youā€™ve come to the wrong place.

Great food, fresh ingredients, vibes as expected, decor is as expected but more importantly the flavours balanced, great portion size, fresh and well priced

ā€œPho Hung Vuong 2ā€ a poem
If youā€™re after good broth and perfect rice noodles, pho hung vuong is the place to visit,
With tender beef and a rich, steaming hot broth, youā€™d be crazy to skip it.

Even though the menu is not an extensive one their pho is quality,
and if youā€™re after a good coffee hit try the Vietnamese iced coffee.

And if youā€™re not too full from the pho, put a three colours drink in your belly,
A perfect trio of flavours; itā€™s made of shaved coconut ice, red beans and green jelly.

So next time youā€™re in Springvale and are hungry for a meal,
Try the pho and a refreshing drink, itā€™s a pretty tasty deal.

next level Pho/ Pha/ Pher (never sure)

If you need some good for the 'soul' food, then this is the place.

Classic school cafeteria meets indecipherable menu.

If you're unsure try a medium sliced beef.

Visited this raved about Vietnamese pho provider, because with a rating of 4+; who wouldn't!? My points:
- No menus provided, however signage all over the upper walls with menu items listed. Simple menu with mainly pho options, clearly indicating that this is what they specialise in;
- Issue with the signage is that there are about four signs around listing items in various languages, however nowhere to be found are the entree options with English language... no entree for you ye English speaker!
- LOTS of commotion with staff yelling loudly, taking away and bringing back condiments to your table with upper limbs flying at you with no warning;
- Seated on a six seater (there were two of us), with another party of three, literally sitting within five centimetres of us made for awkward dining. Initially was seated on a four seater alone but then instructed to move to the table with the other party;
- Very tiny place which ultimately translates to a bit of a wait time. We arrived at 5pm for a nanna dinner and 5 minutes later there was already a queue of approximately 10 people waiting;
- Ice milk coffee literally arrived half empty (pessimism unintentional).

Key summary: Hoa Tran is right up the road and offers extremely comparable pho, English menus, extensive meal options other than pho, more seating space, and the ability to actually enjoy a meal without people eyeballing you out of your seat. I wouldn't say that the flavours and richness of this pho significantly outdo that of what's offered at Hoa Tran; so I will keep faithful to my beloved Hoa Tran.

Ordinary at best.

The pho here pales in many aspects to its Springvale counterparts. We ordered the classic beef pho only to find that the broth was noticeably bland, missing that rich flavour that is so vital. The quantity of meat served wasnā€™t impressive knowing the serving sizes around the Springvale pho scene.

On the other hand, the service received was also quite subpar. The servers were demanding and rude from the get go, suggesting where we could and couldnā€™t sit. Throughout the meal we were irritated by the constant noise of staff sorting china and cutlery, with one of them even playing music from their phone on loudspeaker. Very irritating.

Pho Hung Vuong acts as a gateway for people who aren't familiar with this cuisine to try a classic Vietnamese dish, which can often be intimidating. It's been considered the ā€œsafeā€ Springy pho option for years. But to those seasoned pho connoisseurs, donā€™t go in with high expectations.

Hands down the best pho place in Springvale I go here often and they never disappoint. Well delivered pho with a good broth and generious protein.

Food: šŸŒŸšŸŒŸšŸŒŸšŸŒŸ
Pho Hung Vuong 2 is definitely one of the more popular pho restaurants for the locals in Springvale and it is understandable why there is constantly a line to get a seat here. The broth was rich, the meat was enjoyable and the noodles were soft and so easy to eat. We found that the broth in particular to be extremely enjoyable and that did not require extra seasoning for flavour. We did however add chilli to the dish for an extra kick of spice.

Service: šŸŒŸšŸŒŸšŸŒŸšŸŒŸ
We waited in line for a short while before we were seated. When seated however, we had our orders quickly taken and the food came out shortly after.

Price: šŸŒŸšŸŒŸšŸŒŸšŸŒŸ.5
Generous serves for the price. A large and medium bowl pho costed us $23. A note however that the restaurant takes cash only so definitely have some money on hand.
Suburb Review
Overrated, wayyy too much noodles and not enough meat. Very tight ass on meat portion.... maybe thats why they give twice as much noodles. Broth simple.

Good pho, tastier than most places at reasonable price. Bit more MSG/sugary than traditional. Massive queues most of the time but they do move quickly. Crowded and small restaurant, eat quickly and go, not a place to chat with friends. Service was good, very fast serving if you order common menu items.

I like the pho here but it is not the best I have tried in my opinion. I ordered a bowl of beef ball and rare beef pho. The soup was tasty and the noodles silky smooth and the beef tender, however, the depth of flavour of the soup could be better. I compared it to the pho at Pho Hung and prefer the flavour of the soup at Pho Hung. This is just a personal preference. Seating is a little cramped but no different to many restaurants in Springvale.
