I live locally and every time I've visited, I've never been disappointed! Truly underrated and should deserve more credit! Absolutely delicious! Thank you!

Travelled quite a long way to visit this place upon recommendation, especially for their ox tongue. The food was delicious. However, we made a booking before coming and when we arrived, there was only one waitress working, and she did not realise we were at the door. We decided to sit down ourselves at the table and it took 15min before she brought us the menus, despite us asking her a few times. When she eventually came over she was polite. The restaurant wasn’t fully booked, but more staff would’ve made the experience better as the food was great. Hopefully it was just the odd occasion they had someone call in sick!
This is authentic Thai/Lao cuisine. I grew up eating Thai food (mum is Thai). I have tried many Thai/Lao restaurants since I moved to the Melbourne area and Noi Lucky is by far the best. So much so, that I travel over 40 minutes to eat here at least once a month.
My family and I really like this place and when we crave Thai/ Laos food this is always our first option. We often get a lot of dishes and share. We really like the nam Khao, green curry and pad Thai. Highly recommend
Recommended dish - Kung Sai Nam Pla! I’ve been looking for this dish everywhere in Melbourne and the suburbs ever since I came here, since my partner liked it so much when I took him to a restaurant in Bangkok, I began to think they can’t really sell raw prawn dish here... then found at this place!!! So good, very tasty, real authentic Thai taste. Somtum was the best as well, the price was reasonable and the portion can be for 2-3 per dish. I recommend anyone in the area if you want to have good Thai food, this is the place. Cash only btw
We came into Noi Lucky as it was one of the first times I have ever seen a Laos restaurant in Melbourne and seeing they had Nam Khao on the menu ( Crispy rice salad) I was SOLD! The crispy rice salad was really good but not as good as home . The sour pork skin was a little too thick and the amount of peanuts was too much for my liking.
We also got a sour soup, this was delicious and went down nicely with the rice
Why have I never been here before? This is a Thai and Laos Restaurant and for the first time in melbourne I was able to try Lao flavours with the addition of bamboo sticky rice. The flavours in the dish were so vibrant with a good chilli hit.
Everytime we're in Springvale we always eat Vietnamese food but we decided to try Thai food so i searched up thai food in Springvale on zomato and this place was on the list. With a high rating of 4 i decided to try this place out and it did not disappoint. Service was standard but the food was outstanding. We ordered quite a few dishes as our eyes were bigger than our stomachs lol. Every dish was made to perfection. Balance of flavours were done right. I was nervous that the food would be too sweet but it was just right. The servings were also quite big and generous. The papaya salad was spicy and packed full of flavours. I would definitely recommend this place and will be coming back.
Had a really lovely dinner at Noi Lucky on a cold Saturday night. Delicious and punchy Thai flavours, at a reasonable price, and satisfying portions is what you will get at Noi Lucky. Tried the coconut rice, chicken green curry, beef nam tok (spicy beef salad), and pork Pad Thai. Everything was delicious and spot on for flavour. Really pleased.
One nuisance is that payment is via cash only, so come prepared. Bit of a wait for dine in (20 or so minutes) even with minimal patrons eating in.
Nice little local option though, I'll be back!
So happy to find this great Thai/Lao gem in Springvale. So fresh, perfectly-balanced flavours and good value for money as portion sizes are much more generous than general Thai places. Very happy and will be back for more!
SERVICE: 4/5
I was a little nervous as there were a few reviews commenting on slow service however my experience today was great. The waitress was very careful ensuring our order was right, all drinks/water was provided to the table quickly and our large order of over 10 main dishes came out in a glorious procession within about 25mins or so...was very happy about that! Those grandmas cooking in the kitchen were definitely working their magic.
FOOD: 4.5/5
YUM!!! We eat a lot of Lao/Thai Issan food and I can vouch that the dishes here are 100% authentic. I could tell every person that came in during the Saturday lunch service was a regular and it wasn't long until I saw why. The standout dishes for me were the deep fried whole fish with sweet & tangy sauce (aka "pla sum rod"), prawn pad Thai and the Thai-style papaya salad (som tum Thai). I was so impressed by the variety of papaya salad on the menu, I think there were about 6 to choose from and they all sounded mouth-watering!
We asked for the sauce to come on the side of the fish as sometimes it can make the fish soggy and there were people who just wanted to eat the fish on its own. That sauce was SO well done, I basically dipped everything with it! The big chunks of fresh pineapple through it also added to the addictive sweet & tangy flavour.
Other dishes we had included:
*Chicken feet salad - sounds terrible but the pickled veggies and peanuts through it makes for a dish
*Beef and fish larbs
*Chicken & veggie spring rolls
*Thai fried rice with chicken
*Ox tongue
*Meatball skewers
*Enough sticky rice to last a month
Tip: If you can't handle chilli, best to ask for extra mild. Their mild is still quite spicy.
DECOR & AMBIENCE: 2.5/5
It is a very small restaurant so probably not great if you're looking for a quiet meal. Tables are quite close together e.g. back-to-back seats. It does feel a tad cluttered with lots of images on the wall and an oversized chalk board for specials. However, as soon as the food came out, everything else was forgotten.
I love the Thai food. Must get the ox tongue and pad Thai. Everything else on the menu is great too. Small business that feels authentic Thai
Lovely authentic Thai food. Got all the kick you could desire. A quaint little restaurant that is clean and takes pride in its food presentation.

We have been to our regular recommended restaurant for Thai food but we always wanted to try Noi Lucky and we were over the moon after having such an amazing Thai food.
Om with Chicken ( White sauce - see pics): Pretty tasty and more on a spicy side an amazing green veggies based sauce with cucumber and chicken. Very balanced spicy taste with a good body in sauce and it's not a burst of flavor but good character of all the ingredients they have used in their sauce which is very different.
Kra Pow Gai (Pork with Basil - see pics) : Spot on for your money on this acclaimed Thai delicacy and they make it a bit with lil juicy so that the extraction of flavours can be devoured in that juice, very well cooked and one my my favorite comfort food.
Jasmine Rice : Aromatic and tasty
Thai Fish Cake ( see pics) : What an amazing taste of these entres we had, it had that zing which we expected and the sauce enhanced our taste of fish cake, which surely looked prepared on the spot.
I would recommend this place highly to any Thai food lover and surely you will enjoy the taste they have to offer. Will see you soon again.....Keep up the good show guy's....Arroy Maak
one of the best Laotian/Thai restaurants in Melbourne with a wide variety of dishes. personal favourites include the pork neck, the ox tongue and I usually pick at least one of the eight papaya salads on offer. looks and feels like a family restaurant and service is always prompt and with a genuine smile.
always a good choice for a great homely meal in Springvale especially when not in the mood for pho. pretty much only drawback would be that it's cash only so make sure you're prepared.
This has become our Friday night routine. And every time we come here they always bring us some the best Laotian and Thai food. We love the Tom Saab, Pad Graprao and the Pork Neck. We will try their whole menu and continue to support them. They are excellent!
As far as a Cheap Eats restaurants go this one is very good. If your after table cloths and silver service this is not for you. Top food ,good service and cost-effective, great.
Amazing Thai and Lao food. Flavour was spot on. Very reasonable prices. Will return again.
Having gone to Laos mid year and just returning from Chiang Rai and Cambodia, I was craving a bit of Lao and Thai food. I googled Lao restaurants and Noi Lucky popped up. What really made me visit them was that they served 8 types of Papaya salad. Outside of Thailand and Laos I've never seen that in Melbourne before, so I drove all the way from the western suburbs to try it out.(edit. Have found other restaurants that serve more papaya salad types, still not as authentic though)
The store is a bit small with a no frills design. Tables, chairs and the counter, that was all. There was only the one wait staff but with a store that small it was fine. Service was quick.
Pricing at first glance seemed a little bit pricy but the portions were fairly sized so you were getting value for what you paid. I ordered sticky rice with my meal and selected one of the types of papaya salad. The taste of the papaya was probably the most authentic I've had in Melbourne. The flavours were not dumbed down at all and it came out unapologetically spicy, salty, sour and a little bit sweet. It paired really well with the the sour pork. Try it yourself if you're craving that authentic taste from Thailand and Laos.
