Eating at this place was my first fish and chips experience in a while, and I gotta say, they delivered.
I ordered he trio pack to share between two people, which turned out to be too much, but included flakes, potato cakes, dim sims and chips.
The chips were not my favourite as they were not as crispy as other locations I’ve had in the past, and we were not offered an option to have chicken salt instead of regular basic as salt. Nonetheless, they were okay.
The potato cakes, were a huge step up, with a light, crisp exterior which did not feel too oily at all and a smooth potatoey goodness inside, although the main highlight of it was the beautiful crunch factor.
The dim sims were just dim sims :)
Now, onto the star of the meal, the flake. A monstrosity of great magnitude, saltiness, crunch and oiliness, (and I mean this is a good way) everything you would want from a great flake. Every bite was heavily seasoned and made an audible crunch sound. The fish within the batter was a tad bit dry to be honest, but with the use of a sauce, combined with the oiliness, it did not matter much.
I enjoyed this place, and would eat here again, although would not make the mistake of ordering a meal for three, to share for two.
Ordered the trio pack for 2 which came with 3 flakes, 3 potato cakes, 2 dim sims and chips. The flake was nice and crispy, and I also enjoyed the potato cakes and dim sim. The chips were also fresh and crispy. Overall a good place for fish and chips.
I'm surprised the ratings are quite low. I personally think this is a decent fish and chips store. The grilled flake is one of my favourites around and the fried flake is quite tasty. The chips are always crispy and well salted.
