Cute restaurant, friendly staff, the best sushi by far in Logan if not the Southside of Brissy.
Great food. Good atmosphere and friendly staff. the best Japanese in logan!!
This is hands down the best sushi joint around.
Always spot on, the staff are always really nice and the prices are fair. Keep up the good work!
It’s a nice little place. Decoration is okay. Air conditioned (great for summer). We order the bento box, generous serving. We rate the food 4, and adding 1 point for the restaurant being halal. Great effort 👍
I come to yamis about 3/4 times a month, and every single visit the services has always been amazing. Love the food quality just everything .
Nice little place.. good food and great customer service. Although one of the rice dishes were a bit too dry , nonetheless, rest of dish were to die for. Will come back with more friends
Yami Japanese is a really nice restaurant, very cozy feel, nice music, portion size is great and the price is also great.
Ran out of salmon at 7pm which is a good sign as they most likely get there salmon fresh daily.
This place is a nightmare to find as its hidden away in the corner, if you see the pub, pull in. Its opposite the Beacon Lighting Store. If you're at Woolies, you've gone too far, similarly if you see the liquor outlet, you're pretty close, if you hit bunnings, you've once again gone too far. Parking in front of the store is a bit limited, to maybe 15 spaces? Plenty of parks within walking distance however.
I went here with my friends to celebrate Mish's baby boy getting his first vaccines and being allowed in the real world! We went here as its halal certified so Ash could eat as much meat as she wanted. Tegan also came along because she's baby crazy and wanted to cuddle the baby.We sat on the outside for the extra space but the interior is small but cute with its fake sakura blossom trees, not to mention all the cute knick knacks scattered around the shelves.
We got a whole bunch of entrees to start off with, a massive mistake because I already ate too much at this stage. We got pan fried prawn gyoza with a thin, crispy shell and chunks of prawn meat on the inside. We also got veggie spring rolls that came with sweet chili sauce, the veggies inside were the classic mix of cabbage, carrot and peas. I got a warmish plate of salty edamame and polished off maybe 80% of them by myself as everyone shared stories about the time they ate the pod. I got takoyaki which scandalised Ash when I said they were octopus balls, I love their creamy batter with the tender chunks of octopus, these ones weren't chewy at all and some of the best I've had in Logan. I think I converted her because she was very quiet after she had one and quickly scooped up another one.
Tegan got the chicken karaage don, it did come garnished with a lot of kewpie mayo. She actually only ordered the small and didn't finish it due to how many entrees we had ordered. Similarly Ash also struggled to finish her small size chicken katsu don, she was very impressed that "they got the egg inside the chicken." I wasn't sure how to explain it to her that they literally just crack an egg on top and cook it like that, it seemed so self explanatory somehow. She managed to eat everything but the pink ginger and the all the onions in the sauce.
I got the California roll to share but I love its sweetness. This one had crab meat, cucumber and tobiko roe liberally place on each one. I like the stickiness of this sushi rice and I felt each one was a good sized morsel.Mish and I both got the chicken karaage don. Let me started by naming all the bits, chicken karaage, california sushi piece, a takoyaki, a prawn nigiri, a calamari ring, a deep fried prawn, a kakiage, tempura prawn, broccoli, sweet potato and capsicum, seaweed salad, a small green salad and some pickles! Not pictured was the very average miso soup we got, not too salty, no pieces of tofu or seaweed and the miso didn't even settle when left alone. I didn't know where to start especially considering all I had eaten up to that point, plus my fave sprite.
I definitely would order/go here again as I liked the immense variety of things in this bento box. The only thing I didn't like was the red capsicum. The entrees were all decent sized and well plated. Not to mention this place is halal so perfect to go to with Ash!
The food is absolutely delicious! The service here is very quick and kind! I love coming here! The environment is absolutely gorgeous and comfortable. They have a good variety of foods here and so far, every one I've tried has been great!
Since I was working in Springwood for a day, we decided to try something different and local in the area. Yami seemed like a good choice. It's tucked away next to the Hotel HQ and Pokies and we initially had some trouble finding it. It was quiet when we came in so we were seated right away.
You can order at the counter or wait for the server to come to you.
I really liked the cherry blossom decor which added a quaint feel to it. I had the teriyaki chicken bento box which was really unique to any other bento box I've ever had. For starters, it was packed into a round bamboo box like the ones you see in Yum Cha restaurants. It had tempura vegetables, takoyaki, salad, sushi and rice and it included miso soup as well. For the price of $23, it was quite good and a good size for someone who doesn't have a big appetite compared to most people. You get quite a a bit of onion in the bento box which some people may not like but I didn't mind. The teriyaki chicken was tender.
If you want someone different from the conventional Japanese bento boxes, I would come here. I would return again to try the sizzling dishes in the future.
I really like this place. Waitresses are friendly, and everyone at my table always enjoys the food. I get the vege delight sushi rolls, and it is presentation like no other. It's almost a dessapointment to eat it because of how good it looks. But once I do, they are always gone too quickly. Thanks Yami!
Gorgeous little restaurant, fabulous service, authentic Japanese flavours.
Won't go anywhere else for Katsu Don, main waitress there even remembers I don't like the pickled ginger for garnish.
Only con would be sometimes when busy it can take sometime for the food to come out.
