What's packed tight, sweaty and pulsating on a Monday night? Eugene Hamilton's polyester fashion slacks, of course! But I was actually referring to the Dogs Bar in St Kilda, where Eugene and his band The Money have a long-standing residency. If you haven't been, you're missing one of the best things Melbourne's live music scene has to offer. Entry is free, the food is great (get there early), and the band is tighter than the squeeze to get to the toilets behind the bar.

Hanging outside on a beautiful day, with the bay breeze gently reminding you are near the water and chilling with friends.
Dogs Bar makes for a great afternoon out.
Great food and service, corn bread to remind me of the scene in the Green Mile, we'll definitely be back.
Good music, great vibe, good selection of wines and some nice beers on tap. The food is pretty good too. The curly fries are really worth it and the calamari isn't just fake rings, it's actual pieces of calamari.

Dogs Bar is the cosy pub that every suburb needs. Good beer selection that is well priced, friendly staff and meals are well above average. I have the chicken schnitzel with mushroom sauce and loved it. Will be back again.
