This is one place where you cannot go window shopping without buying something. Their window display was stunningly attractive and I was surprised there weren't any slobber marks on the windows!

I had the Polish cheesecake which was delicious and it was not as sweet as usual (I say that in a good way). The apple crumble could have been more crumbly but was still very nice. There were chunks of sweet apples throughout. The coffee was excellent.

A really nice place for a quick cake and cuppa before heading to the beach on a sunny day!

There used to be many of these cakes shops 30 years ago. This one is a tried and trued delight to visit. SO many people snapping photos of the continental delicacies in the window. For the sweet tooth, there is something for everyone. Located in busy Acland Street, it's a must visit if nothing more than to see how they did cakes 'in the old days'. The staff are always smiling despite often being crazily busy. Takeaway. Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Pram/stroller accessible. Parking is okay.

We have tried a lot of cakes and tarts, all very fresh and delicious. The prices are reasonable and usually it is very busy, it looks like this is the favourite cake shop in St Kilda.

We popped in a Tuesday night and Acland street was a-buzz as usual :) The cake display was huge and we were spoilt for choice.

We opted for the Apple Crumble, Pavlova and Nutella Donut. All were tasty, and I particularly appreciated that the apples in the crumble weren't overlooked as they often can be! A bit more crunch on the Pavlova and some "fresher" cream would have made the fluffy Pav that little bit better :)

Overall, a lovely cake display and worth a try. The kugel from Monarchs is still a firm favourite of mine though!

Absolutely loved the lemon merengue tart and the vanilla slice was delicious. Coffee was good. My pick of the cake shops on Acland Street so far.

Sometimes the St Kilda bakeries on Acland Street get a bit of a bad rap, as the product doesn’t quite match the exceptions of the highly visual and tourist-worthy window fronts on display. I tried my hand at vanilla slice at the Acland Continental Cakes as was happy with the result. It was a heavy dose that was best shared and was pretty up there with vanilla slices that I have had around town with a good mix of crisp pastry and creamy custard. I’d probably say the range of items on offer is a bit too wide meaning the less popular items don’t stand up as much in delivery. So far I’ve been happier than the average reviews the place seems to get.

Quick service, cute and cosy environment, great customer service from the waitresses. The cannoli was perfect, it wasn't stale and the custard wasn't cluggy or grainy. The ragor delight was a dense in cream, very rich.

There was so many options to choose from and everything looked delicious! The fruit rum baba are huge! All the portions were very generous so sharing would be ideal.

DO: The Nutella Donuts, the caramel slice or the florentino- some of the best we've had.

DON'T: Forget that they also do coffees too. Sit down inside and out your feet up.

TIP: There are 4 cake shops on Acland. Purchase one here and move on. Cake Degaustation is bad said no one ever.

In one word: Eggy. My second bakery on Acland Street and in my opinion a nicer slice than Monarch Cakes. A thick, eggy custard with a nice after taste of vanilla. Buttery, flaky pastry that almost resembled a crumbly biscuit rather than a crisp, thin pastry. Topped off with a healthy dusting of icing sugar, all together a tasty vanilla slice which needed two sittings to finish.

Authentic European flavours. Baked traditional cheese cake as it should be, but also fancy new flavours as well. We tried the vanilla slice and fruit tarts as well. We were not disappointed. They also have some lunch items as well.

Used to bicycle with late husband down Acland Street. We would get hungry and make straight for those famous jewish cake shops. What a delight 😊 they were... and are. This street is famed for artistic People, colourful scenes and Markets etc. Why not indulge yourself in ambience of the Place and a trayful of those rich Delicious cakes... never been propositioned yet... ha ha... Live it up!!
